Pot Cakes Dynasty League – Week 2 Recap

Good morning everyone, I hope this finds you well. We have the Week 2 Recap, Week 3 Power Rankings, a quick look at Dr. Tilt’s Week 2 pick results, and a last minute summary of who is likely to be searching the waiver wire after injuries from the weekend’s games. I know you are thinking, “What is JonnyDIII listening to while he types this?” I’m playing “Dancing on my Own” the new rendition because I’m hurt. I’m hurt ok?

Let’s take a look at how the game of the week turned out.

Batman at CrossFit.

 vs.

You know how some teams just lay an egg on the big stage? Batman needed a sidekick. Miles Sanders, Noah Fant, and Adam Humphries all came to play. Lamar, Bob, Juju, and Anthony Miller (…wonder who saw this coming…) all underperformed. CrossFit is an unstoppable force. He’s taking over. Dak, CMC, Ekeler, Bob Anderson, Mostert, and Lockett, veins. CrossFit is going to face his toughest challenge next week, himself. Mostert injured, CMC injured. You hate to see it, but at least his 2-0 start can buy him time to get those guys back. CrossFit is in desperate need at RB as he can dip into AP to pair with Ekeler and use WRs the rest of the way. I’m not going to count him out, he wants it, he’s built different. Batman 143.3 CrossFit 176.

Daddy Wombat at Teach.

 vs.

Do you remember, the 21st of September, because that is when Daddy Wombat took over. Saving Kamara for the last game, he was the difference. Daddy Wombat took Teach to school with Mr. Unlimited, D-Hop, Higbee, and D.K. That Seahawks duo is going to keep these co-managers happy all year. Daddy Wombat spotted Teach 1.4 points as Benny Snell was in the negative, and Fuller put up a goose egg. Teach showed well, Chris Carson and Mark Ingram getting it done on the ground. Tyreek Hill and D.J. Moore both had better weeks. But everyone else’s average performance wasn’t enough to match Daddy Wombat’s Dynamic Winners. Daddy Wombat 166.1 Teach 141.

Bruce swam to Pistol.

 vs.

The bad teams all really put it on the line. Pistol hit the bullseye. Pistol had just enough fire power this week. Kyler Murray, veins, David Montgomery, veins, Kareem Hunt, veins. He has the weapons. Nyheim Hines really let him down, along with Darius Slayton. Bruce bite off more than he can chew, even with Matty Ice, Zeke, JT, Jules all put on monster days. Bruce needs big scores from his big names because he has a few gaps in his lineup. Danny Amendola and James Washington are not bookends for him. Emmanuel Sanders as a #1 let Bruce down and he woke up to a loss. (more on people waking up to loses to come) Pistol and Bruce will take a win whether or not they deserved it. Bruce 159.25 Pistol 160.1.

Touchdown Guy took on PeePaw.

 vs.

The trade and game went to Touchdown Guy. Josh Allen is tall, but his ceiling is taller. Josh almost put up a 50-burger in fantasy. That was almost half of PeePaw’s points. Add Calvin Ridley and Melvin Gordon, and you have a nice little trio. Julio had a bad week for TDG but Ridley made up for it balancing things out. TDG lost Barkley for the year, so it will be interesting to see if he makes another move or looks to focus on next season. PeePaw is in rough shape this year. Jared Goff, CeeDee Lamb, and Jonnu Smith all did well. Everyone else was pretty flat. Justin Jefferson hit his projection but that was a low mark. The Scotty Miller move did not work and it should get worse as Godwin returns to the lineup for the Bucs. Gaskin provides some hope for him down the road as he put up some good bench points. PeePaw is going to need to add some more young depth, as he is a team that you think will have a shot in three years. TDG 150.15 PeePaw 118.25.

Mush’s Mongrels at Bottom Bunk.

 vs.

Mush is winning due to a favorable schedule. This week he took down the lowest point scoring team, while putting up the second lowest point total himself. Diontae Johnson, that was it for big performances. Everyone else was not so hot. Bottom Bunk hit the snooze this week. John Brown barely going over this week. Everyone else, not good. Kickers went toe to toe as both Blankenship and Tucker both put the ball through the pipes a lot. I think both of these teams are going to fall apart, but Mush might move up a spot or two. Mush 111.06 B.B. 100.95.

Last, we have the most electric game, the best game, JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons at Trashman.

 vs.

This matchup reminded me of a Thursday night football game about five years ago. I wrote my first blog post helping out a guy who usually went through the games each week. The Thursday night game was between the Texans and Colts, I think Watson and Luck were hurt, it was Hassleback v. Brian Hoyer. I predicted it to be a 3 to 2 game, Vinatieri with a field goal and J.J. Watt with a safety. I was way wrong, it was a sneaky shootout 27-20. That’s what we had this week, and if I had to lose a heartbreaker, it would be to Trashman.  He’s not going to talk trash to you because he is never on his phone. Trashman had Chubb, Aaron Jones, and Cam Newton. Good for him. The rest of his team was outside of McKinnon, under 10 points. JonnyDIII put up good numbers with Corey Davis, Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs, Terry McLaurin, and Patty Mahomes. Sony Michel and Austin Hooper. I can’t. Tip of my cap to Trashman he wins 162.89 to 162. Now, I know what you are thinking, I run the media account/blog I should have journalistic integrity to not go off on a rant and separate myself from my team for this post. You are WRONG. What a joke, personally I lost on that A.J. Brown review on the first Monday night, and lost by less than a half point in a different league. This week I go to bed Sunday night with a lead and Sony Michel to play against Cam Newton. I had a 40 point lead. Sony what are you doing. I have half the mind to switch back to X-box. Are you kidding me? 19 yards, 1.9 points. Cam goes off for a million. I blame the Chicago Bears. How do you keep Trubisky and sign Nick Foles and leave Cam Newton to sign for nothing to the Patriots a team where he can tear it up. And he did and does and will. But if you are the Panthers, Bears, Lions, Vikings, Giants, Eagles, 49ers, The Football Team, Browns, Broncos, Colts, Jaguars, Raiders, Chargers, Dolphins, and Jets, I BLAME YOU. AND if you are the Cardinals, Chiefs, Packers, Rams, Cowboys, Falcons, Saints, Seahawks, Buccaneers, Ravens, Bills, Bengals, Texans, Titans, and Steelers, are backups bad? Like you could have the world’s greatest backup. Cam would receive worse coaching and would not have had a prime time game. Instead you let him go to the Patriots, and now he has great coaching, has decent weapons in a big body Harry and reliable Jules. He has four RBs he can tease. All of this leads him to beating me in my sleep. I hate everything. This is the worst feeling, sleeping with a lead, and waking up to heartbreak.  But Sony Michel my god, just can someone take over the RB position in New England. And Hooper what are you doing. Both available for trade, I am taking Chubbard next year.

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

The injury bug got to Dr. Tilt, and he got one wrong.

San Francisco 49ers -7 @ New York Jets

Jets are still bad, blowout, win.

Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys Over 51.5

What a weird game, over, win.

Kansas City Chiefs -8.5 @ Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert is good at football, available for a high end pick, Dr. Tilt first pick wrong, but Tyrod would have been a different outcome, Chiefs would win by at least 6 but likely 14, lose.

***BONUS PICK***

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers -5.5

Undefeated in bonus picks, Pack are back, win.

Week 2: 3-1

Overall: 6-1

Week 3 Power Rankings

If you only score 100 points you drop. CrossFit and Daddy Wombat stay at the top, and Mush is even creeping up the rankings.

Waiver Watch

CrossFit – CMC – Out 4-6 weeks

CrossFit – Raheem Mostert – Out for who knows really

Touchdown Guy – Saquon Barkley – Out for the season

Pistol – Courtland Sutton – Out for season

Trashman – Cam Akers – Out for some weeks maybe, ribs and busy backfield

Mush – Parris Campbell – Out for the season

These are the managers to watch make some waiver moves.

That’s a wrap. See you tomorrow for the Week 3 Preview. Will JonnyDIII get a win, or will he make some trades and acquire more draft picks? I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. Football is still back baby.

Let’s Go!
