Good morning everyone, I hope this finds you well. We are going to catch up on how the matchups ended up, how the Doc did, and the Week 5 Power Rankings. You are not going to want to miss this. Big moves on the rankings, and are there big moves trade wise coming up? Tank season? Comeback season? Or just good old fantasy football ruining a person’s life one week at a time.
The (unsponsored, someday I won’t need the parentheses) game of the Week.
Daddy Wombat took on CrossFit

v.

I thought I did a great job promoting this game. Crickets. How can someone make that many coffee creamer references and nothing. People drink coffee. One of these top teams are going to need to make a big move to beat CrossFit. Dak put up 55 points, Amari Cooper Kupp combined for 44 points. Mix in a Cole Beasley TD and a Bob Anderson takeover and it’s a wrap. Daddy Wombat played well. Alvin Kamara with a cool 20, Fuller 19, Jeudy and Metcalf with 25 combined for the young WRs. Russ put up his 31. I mean things were going well, and that will show in the rankings. Daddy Wombat performed well, but CrossFit just has it. Daddy Wombat is going to need to make one move for a skill guy to lock in a late playoff run. CrossFit bests Daddy Wombat and remains the only unbeaten 155 to 142.32.
Mush’s Mongrels head to school to face Teach.

v.

Could you imagine trading a second round pick for a WR4? Well it happened and it cost Mush’s Mongrels. Mush only got 3 points out of Michael Gallup. Antonio Gibson put up 21 and James Robinson has 13. What a night for those young guys. The rest of the team not so much. All those long lessons with Mixon finally paid off for Teach, 39 points. Carson is healthy? Well he had 23.5. Teach really lucked out with Latavius Murray who put up 21 points. Aaron Rodgers is putting up 40 point games and that is scary. He has no help at times from wide receiver and received no help from the draft, but play calling, sheer talent, and an easy schedule thus far, A-Rodg is lighting it up. Teach took Mush to school 168.55 to 140.7.
Bruce was swept away in the current on his way to Trashman.

v.

There is one unbeaten team remaining, and there is one team that cannot win. Bruce is having a tough time with his matchups, is this draft curse going to haunt Bruce forever? Hopefully. Finally, Bruce is able to put in D.J. Chark, 25 big ones, Emmanuel Sanders and Tyler Boyd put up a dozen a piece and then things cool off. Trashman had everyone put in a good shift for him. McKinnon with 19, A-Rob 19, Landry 15, Kenny G 14, Aaron Jones 19, and Mark Andrews with 19. QB play and the Nick Chubb injury might slow down Trashman a touch, but he’s still looking to dump you each week. Trashman disposes of Bruce. 146 to 117.35
Batman is taking on Bottom Bunk.

v.

There were teams that were complaining about their ranking. There were also teams humbled by it. Batman got a whopping 8.8 points out of his late round steal D. Freeman. This is manager of the year stuff. Ronny Jones, D. Swift both put up decent numbers but his wide receiving core makes me want to puke. That is what did Batman in this week, no one making plays on the city limits. Bottom Bunk is going to move up the rankings (a little) as he pulled out a big win. Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen, and George Kittle all put up 20+ point weeks. Sprinkle in some low scores and it’s enough to get a W. Bottom Bunk turned the lights off on Batman, 158.3 to 119.45.
Touchdown Guy takes on Pistol.

v.

Everyone has a bad game every now and again. Touchdown Guy had just that. Starting out hot with Melvin Gordon scoring almost 25 points, you thought this was over. Calvin Ridley recorded 0 stats. My goodness. The WR1 entering the week, or for sure the WR2, ends with a big ole goose egg. The rest of the team did nothing as well, with Keenan Allen sneaking into double digits and Josh Allen being tall. Pistol’s quick trigger on OBJ finally paid off. OBJ put up 35, Mikey Davis added a cool 19, same with Hunt, and then the rest of his team stayed in the holster. Joshua Kelley should help Pistol as Ekeler will be sidelined for at least a few weeks. Pistol out shot TDG this week 143.65 to 108.5.
JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons dance over to PeePaw

v.

Tonight, Beatking – Then Leave, plays as loud as humanly possible. No one can accuse Jonny DIII and his Joyful Demons of tanking. Mahomes, Mike Evans, Diggs, Scary Terry, and DALTON SCHULTZ. Let’s get it. PeePaw had a good showing out of Singletary who looks to be sneaking up the RB ranks. CeeDee Lamb is taking over as the WR1 for Dallas. Justin Jefferson is also doing well. I like these young WRs PeePaw has. PeePaw talked a lot of smack leading up to this matchup. The Joyful Demons were unbothered, trading away a good young WR for a 2nd and 5th, right before this matchup. Free Fried Chicken Sammy for ya boy. Jonny DIII takes it to PeePaw for his first win, 132.6 to 112.9.
Now let’s recap the picks.

Let’s dive into the power rankings for Week 5.

I have to address something without giving away any secrets. Mush and Touchdown Guy’s rankings. You are probably thinking the ranking for Mush is a little low and TDG is a little high considering he was on the 100 point watch this week. Well come back tomorrow to see what TDG did to put his team right back in the thick of things. Mush, well Mush is 10th in points, I would say he still might be too high. CrossFit and Daddy Wombat are still the teams to beat. Teach and Pistol are coming off hot weeks, and even Bottom Bunk gets a kiss on the forehead as he drifts off to sleep after a BIG win.
What a weekend of football. With Covid-19 delaying some games and causing some players to have to sit out, it throws a wrinkle in the lineups this year. If you are lucky you have a great commissioner and they communicated with the league on backups or how a potential Tuesday night game would go. I have that in one of my other leagues. I will see you tomorrow for the Week 5 Preview. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.
Let’s Go!
