Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Preview

Good morning everyone, I hope this finds you well. We have the Week 5 Preview, Dr. Tilt’s weekly prescription, and some closing remarks. You have to wonder, does someone want their business or product mentioned here, like next, like as the Insert Name Here Game of the Week. If so talk to me, if not, check out the plain old game of the week.

The game of the Week. This was a tough one, but it has to be this game.

Trashman heads on over to Mush’s Mongrels.

v.

This is a big game for the rankings. Trashman is hot, Mush is cooling off. This could be one of the many nails in the coffin to put Mush out of contention. Trashman needs Daniel Jones to figure it out, and the Cowboys defense is the perfect team to do that against. McKinnon, A-Rob, and Mark Andrews must put up big numbers for Trashman to clean up this weekend. The real sleeper pick for Trashman is if Curtis Samuel can turn it on against the bad Falcons defense. He needs consistent production to be a real threat in this league. Mush is facing a bye week for his vet QB. He will look his QB in the eye, mono e mono, and hope Sam Darnold can pull off some more magic (I typed this before news Darnold is out this week but I liked it so I kept it in). Who will be Mush’s QB? I predicted his draft picks and I predict he scoops up Kirk Cousins because the matchup is there and Teddy 2 Gloves, I need to see more from him. Josh Jacobs has been quiet the last 3 weeks and needs to find the endzone again. Hollywood Brown plays the Bengals and should look to take advantage of a division rival. It’s too early to tell who the favorite is as scores will adjust, Trashman has a two can lead, but I think Mush bounces back relying on CEH and Jacobs.

PeePaw takes a stroll on over to Daddy Wombat.

v.

If you are in a position to sink you ship you might as well. PeePaw lost last week, just absolutely got bodied by a team with no wins. I mean it was a horror show. PeePaw now knows his place in the world and has made a big move. PeePaw received a 2021 First and 2022 First from Touchdown Guy for Derrick Henry. PeePaw has some youth, Singletary and Gaskin but a blow like that all but does him in for the season. The young core he has will be something to watch going forward but we cannot fast forward right now. Daddy Wombat is out for blood after they suffered their worst defeat of the year. Russ, Kamara, Metcalf, D-Hop, and Jeudy, this one is almost too easy. Daddy Wombat will get back in the win column as they are already 27 point favorites.

Pistol heads to Batman.

v.

This is one of those matchups where the loser should really doubt their chances of making the playoffs. Pistol is coming off of a big win. He needs help at RB. Joshua Kelley should add some more value to his lineup and Montgomery needs to take over as both are now the “main” backs. They don’t have help. Same goes for Kareem Hunt, but he might have to rest up this week. Mikey T, if back, is a big caliber player Pistol needs for a playoff push. Batman needs to win. Currently, the worst team with a win according to the apps rankings. Lamar sat out of practice, so we hope he’s healthy. Noah Fant is doubtful. Where do the points come from? Hopefully James Conner and Miles Sanders can put up some big numbers to make this a close one. Pistol is a 10 point favorite, and I’ll pump him up as I think he takes it.

Teach takes it to Touchdown Guy.

v.

This was another game of the week option. Teach put together a great performance last week. Touchdown Guy just gave up a 2021 and 2022 First round pick to get Derrick Henry. This is a hot matchup. The principal would pull the plug on this performance because its that HOT. Teach does not have a QB, WR, and TE in his lineup currently as Rodgers, Marvin Jones, and Hock have byes. Chris Carson is a must and Parker needs to be good this week. Otherwise school might be out for Teach. TDG is making moves, his backs are good. D-Train, Melvin Jeff Gordon, and Le’Veon Bell, maybe? His backs are going to produce fantasy numbers, they are reliable vets that will get theirs. The Falcon trio of Jones, Ridley, and Hurst need to get back on track to push TDG into that top tier team category. I have no idea how the scoring will shake out once Teach is out of detention and shakes up his lineup, but I think TDG will be a 13 point favorite, I don’t know math, but that has to be good, give me TDG.

CrossFit is looking to chalk up another win against Bruce.

v.

CrossFit gets his toughest win and now has the weekend off. Dak, Bob Anderson, Amari Cooper Kupp, Lockett, Crowder, all them guys are clicking. If Ertz can play some football CrossFit will be untouchable. CMC and Ekeler are out for now but if he gets into the playoffs those two will be back and then it’s over. Bruce cannot win. He did this to himself. You don’t go messing with draft picks. Honor and integrity, Bruce does not have either. Dan Quinn is likeable and the players rallied for their coach, well for Bruce’s guys it’s time to act. JT is splitting carries, Zeke is doing ok but not RB1 (overall), he’s RB4, and for me, Zeke needs to do better. D.J. Chark being back is great and if Hunter Renfrow can get some catches, Bruce has a chance. CrossFit is currently a 6 point favorite, I’m going to ride the hot hand, give me CrossFit in the worst v. first.

Bottom Bunk is looking to spend the night with JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons.

v.

Bottom Bunk is coming off of a big win. Watson and David Johnson have new coaches and a new outlook on life. Can the pair of Thielen and Cook keep it going for B.B. Can Bourne and really only Kittle continue these terrible twos B.B. has on his team? He hopes so. JonnyDIII and his Joyful Demons are distraught. Mahomes could be out, Corey Davis is out, can K.J. Hamler get healthy? Well a sneaky pickup was Tim Patrick WR for the Broncos, he had two big weeks, and hopefully him settling in will still be a 10 point game. Harry needs to play better. Kenyan Drake what are you doing? But the balance of young WRs and vet WRs will help next year. Bottom Bunk is a 24 point favorite and I cannot pick this game but know I want a high value pick for next years draft.

Now we have some picks.

Some words from Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 5 Prescription

Arizona Cardinals -7 @ New York Jets

Remember when everyone thought the Cardinals were really good?  Then they lost 2 straight to the Lions and the Panthers.  Well they might not be as good as we all thought.  A fact the doc does know is that they are much better than the Jets.  No fancy stats on this one.  The Jets are incredibly injured and even before their injuries were probably the worst team in football.  The Arizona offense gets back on track and coasts on the road.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans -6

Always bet on the team that fires their coach.  It’s a tale as old as time.  Coach gets fired, players play harder to make it not look like their fault.  Houston can’t be this bad right?  Everyone hated the Deandre Hopkins trade but they have Deshaun Watson, better weapons and defense that Jacksonville.  Jacksonville was frisky to start the season, but they are back to being what most expect, one of the worst teams in the NFL.  Houston shows up to spite Bill O’Brien.

Minnesota Vikings + 7 @ Seattle Seahawks

Sunday Night Showdown! (If you want to call it that).  In raw stats Seattle’s defense ranks bottom third in points and dead last in passing yards.  Jamal Adams is already ruled out for the game.  Kirk Cousins has plenty of problems (especially in prime time) but they are going to move the ball and score points.  O/U is at 57.5, so Vegas agrees.  Seattle hasn’t played a normal game in years.  Minnesota is starting to figure a couple of things out with emerging Justin Jefferson and improvements on defense the last few weeks.  Expect Seattle to win but not by 8.  Getting 7 instead of 6.5 is huge and at minimum a backdoor cover or push is your security blanket.

Last Week: 2-1

Season Record: 10-3

Big Announcement: You may have picked up on it in the game previews, but Touchdown Guy sends his 2021 and 2022 1st round picks to PeePaw for Derrick Henry. This is the spark TDG needs, he just has to capitalize this year, as he put all his chips on the table.

That does it for this week. Let’s all hope that the games are played this weekend. But sometimes you pay for the whole seat and only use the edge. I’ll see you soon. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
