Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Preview

Good morning everyone, I hope this finds you well. We have the Week 6 Preview, Dr. Tilt’s weekly prescription with a bonus pick, and some trade news. No football tonight, but we do have a game of the week.

The Game of the Week. The Cowboys and Giants were a game of the week, now we have our version of that

Bruce rolls on over to PeePaw.

v.

The battle of the beaten. In the app these two are ranked 11 of 12 and 12 of 12. Bruce needs a win and this is the time to do it, his next best chance is Week 13. With all that went on last week, I, and my researchers for this blog, left out the QB1 Ryan Tannehill was on Bruce’s bench, Bruce lost by less than a point. Tannehill is starting this week. Zeke, JT, and Damien Harris, make up a nice little trio of backs for Bruce. The question is the health of Bruce’s team, Jules and Chark both are questionable, and have been dinged up all year. Hopefully, his team is full health come kickoff and he can put up some points. PeePaw was in a panick earlier today. Le’Veon Bell was deciding between the Chiefs, Bills, and Dolphins. PeePaw has Singletary and Gaskin, both young backs that might lose their job to Bell. Ding, ding, we have a winner in the Chiefs, and PeePaw’s youthful backfield keeps their edge. A.J. Brown, Davante Adams, CeeDee Lamb, and Justin Jefferson, my goodness. This WR core is going to tear it up this weekend. PeePaw is a 12 point favorite and with Lamb and Jefferson turning it on mid-season I have to roll with PeePaw.

Next up we have Mush’s Mongrels taking on CrossFit.

v.

Mush is doing well, 4 and 1 despite a low scoring team. He should see some upside to Hardman as Watkins is injured, but he will lose some production and most likely touchdown production from Clyde Frog when Bell actually knows the Chiefs’ offense. Deebo is back, hopefully he can provide the uplift in offense his team has been missing. The Football Team should bounce back and give the ball to Gibson this weekend, something they abandoned early last week. CrossFit is barely holding on. He needs to chalk up and get a grip to win this week. Honestly, it’s going to be tough, his players do not have great matchups. Brady taking on the Packers secondary should be interesting on the edges, if Brady remembers the down he should check it down to his backs or tight end. AP takes on the Jags, which is his best matchup. Amari Cooper has to fight for passes and with Andy Dalton who knows if the Boys pass as much. Cooper Kupp should fair well against a beat up 49ers team, but we will have to see. Right now CrossFit is a 7 point favorite, so far I’m going with the home teams, I think CrossFit remains unbeaten.

Daddy Wombat is putting on his nightcap and snuggling up next to Bottom Bunk.

v.

Daddy Wombat is still hot. But Week 6 is a cold glass of Strawberry Milk. Russ, Kamara, Jackson, Metcalf, Higbee, Lutz, Brees, Olsen, Kmet, and Trautman are all on bye. I am not sure he can roster a team as of today. Can Claypool make up all the offense Daddy Wombat needs? If not, Fuller, D-Hop, Gurley, and Jeudy will help out. Big question marks at QB and TE this weekend for Daddy Wombat. Bottom Bunk had restless legs. Trading Sammy Watkins for Keelan Cole, a 2021 First for Mike Williams and handcuff Mattison, and (still waiting approval) Michael Pittman Jr. for J.D. McKissic. B.B. lacked depth and he got some at each position. B.B. is looking to cash in this year and is hoping his team continues to rise. Thielen, Kittle, Hilton, and Mattison should all have big weeks. Bottom Bunk is a big time favorite at the moment, and looking around I feel like he will be at kickoff too. This is a must win for B.B. and will put him in the playoff hunt. I have B.B. pulling this one off, nothing personal D.W. you are still my favorite team.

Batman charters on over to Teach.

v.

Batman is in need of a win. Lamar has been bad all year but has a favorable matchup against Philly. Miles Sanders will have a tough matchup against Baltimore, but I like him for check downs. James Conner is going to take on rival Cleveland, and Ronny Jones is facing off against the Packers bad run defense. Batman needs Juju and Shenault to have good days if he wants to compete this week and get back on track. Teach is looking to stay at the top. He has an A+ at the end of the first quarter but is gearing up to end the semester strong. Mixon and Higgins go against another tough defense in the Colts. Marvin Jones and Randall Cobb are in the starting line-up and if he can get points out of these two, things should be good for Teach. I like Parker, Fitzmagic loves him and the Jets are bad. Teach has a couple other sneaky plays with Tyreek Hill and Hockenson, I like the way this team is put together. Teach is a five point dog, but I think he will do his research and pull this game out, give me Teach in a tight one.

Touchdown Guy takes on Trashman.

v.

I liked these two at the start of the year, but here we are both 2-3. TDG is going to love his trade for Derrick Henry, the guy is good and heating up. Calvin Ridley (manager of the year consideration draft pick Calvin Ridley) is going to absolutely tear up the Vikings secondary. Josh Allen takes on the Chiefs, Chiefs didn’t look so hot against the Raiders, I think Allen is able to do the same. TDG has some questions with Mel Gordon and Julio, if those two can go, I think TDG takes it. Trashman gets his guys back. Kenny G and Aaron Jones should both give T-man the boost his team needs. Cam is back, most likely, and how many TDs will Mark Andrews have against the Eagles? This one is going to tighten up near kickoff as T-man has to adjust his roster, it’s really a coin flip, and since I’m not sure if Trashman reads these, I’m going with TDG to pull sneak one out. If you do read this Trashman, hi.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons shoot on over to Pistol.

v.

This one is personal. Pistol is mad. JonnyDIII is cute. JonnyDIII is currently without a QB in the starting spot, we will have to see if one is put in his lineup come kickoff. Rocking a pair of Cards JD3 is going to get the touchdown points from one of the Cardinals backs as he’s playing them both. JonnyDIII scooped up Tim Patrick off of waivers and is hoping he finds his own on this Broncos team that has some injuries in their receiving core. Also, Nick Foles, can you complete passes to a wide open Mooney. Mooney is money on his routes, always open, Foles just can’t hit. Pistol has one more week to cash in on Mike Davis, what a scoop. Broadway Bob is the player to watch, I like Broadway Bob to be the second target for the Pack after Adams, if he can be and can be that second threat on the Packers, another great scoop. Also, Travis Kelce. That’s all you have to say. Pistol likely takes this one, but I cannot pick it, I can however taste an early 2021 pick. Pistol is a 20ish point fav, assuming a QB is rostered.

Now we have some picks.

Some words from Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 6 Prescription

Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans -3

We kick off this week’s prescription in the AFC South.  As promised, the Doc prescribed a winner with the fired coach bump the Texans got last week against Jacksonville.  Unfortunately, that bump is going to stop after one week.  Romeo Crennel is 29-55 in his career as a head coach and although he got the Texans on the winning side of things last week he’s 73 years old.  Romeo is not a fine Cabernet Sauvignon, meaning that he’s not better 15 years later than when he uncorked his first head coaching gig with the Cleveland Browns back in 2005.  The Houston Texans are the 31st ranked rushing defense and are going to get stiff-armed to oblivion by Derrick Henry (sorry Josh Norman).  The Titans are real (ask the Bills), Ryan Tannehill is good, and fans will be in the stands.  Short week?  Yes, but no travel and two weeks off prior due to their COVID-19 outbreak you’ll feel good taking Titans -3 at home.

Baltimore Ravens @ Philadelphia Eagles Over 48

Lamar Jackson admitted it, the Chiefs are the Ravens Kryptonite.  So, let’s take that Chiefs game from a few weeks ago out.  In the other four Ravens games they are averaging 32+ points per game.  That means you need 16 from Philly?  The Eagles didn’t have an issue getting to 29 against a top 7 DVOA defense last week in Pittsburgh.  The Ravens boast a top 3 DVOA defense but you get Philly at home, needing a win, and starting to find some consistency with their offense.  Ravens win but this game gets into the 50’s total.

Kansas City Chiefs -4 @ Buffalo Bills

The Bills are not as bad as they looked on Tuesday.  Josh Allen is not as bad as they looked on Tuesday.  However, anytime you can get the Chiefs under a touchdown you should feel good about it.  The Bills defense which many pundits thought would be great this year is currently ranked 27th.  The Chiefs just gave up 40+ to Derek Carr and the Raiders.  Expect a lot of offense and the doc thinks this….. If Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes both drop back to pass 40+ times who’s more likely to make a mistake or two?  Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs coming off a loss make a statement in Buffalo.

***BONUS PICK***

Green Bay Packers -1 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

“Welcome in to the Fox NFL Sunday Game of The Week I’m Joe Buck and here with me is three-time Super Bowl champion Troy Aikman.”  You can hear it already can’t you?  The narrative of this game will be two of the greats, Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers but like Davante Adams said this week “It doesn’t matter if it’s Tom Brady or Nathan Peterman on the other side”.  Tampa Bay is still dinged up with questions of availability for Evans, Godwin, Fournette, and Scotty Miller.  They’ve already lost OJ Howard and star DT Vita Vea for the year.  Green Bay is moving in the other direction.  They are coming off a bye week, Davante Adams is slated to play for the first time since Week 2, and Aaron Rodgers is off to a start unseen before (highest QBR through the first 4 weeks since QBR began being tracked).  Tom Brady has only been an underdog against the spread 13 times since 2010 (WHAT!?) and is 9-4 straight up and 10-3 against the spread.   But guess what?  Bill Belicheck isn’t walking through that door and if you can’t beat the Bears, you aren’t beating the Packers.  Gamble responsibly and let’s go 4-0 together this week so you get TWO bonus picks next week.  Godspeed.

Last Week: 3-0

Season Record: 13-3

The big news for this preview got bigger. It’s Bottom Bunk. He dropped Royce Freeman, losing his edge as manager of the year. BUT, he then made some moves, giving up a 2021 First, Sammy Watkins, and Michael Pittman Jr. He received Keelan Cole, Alexander Mattison (he has Cook so this is smart), Mike Williams, and J.D. McKissic. His team is complete, but he has to make it count. If B.B. can manage his roster, and pick the right matchups, he’ll make a little noise. Next year, well, that’s next year. P.S. the Doc is going to add a bonus pick per perfect week? That’s like getting a sucker after your visit, and then getting a second one.

That’s all we have for this week, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

JonnyDIII
