Good morning everyone, we have Week 2 of the Pot Cakes Dynasty League. Will this week answer questions, or will it be a letdown. We have some big injuries in Jeudy and Mostert that teams will have to fight through. Depth has been a concern for some teams, but some teams made savvy moves early that may pay off in the long haul. Let’s dive right in to our Week 2 (unsponsored) game of the Week.
Touchdown Guy v. Teach

v.

TDG would have been last week’s game of the week if not for the last minute schedule change. TDG was lucky with the injury bug, Elijah Mitchell is a must start. TDG followed the Top 65 Rookie rankings and grabbed Mitchell at the end of the 3rd. TDG has the Tall Josh Allen and Melvin Gordon who both look to have continued success. The question is if Derrick Henry can bounce back. The same goes for Mike Evans, Evans should have a decent shot going against the Falcons, if he cannot get right with this matchup, then we have a problem. The sneaky play is how Tim Patrick will play this week. No Jeudy, so either Ham God or Tim Patrick will have to step up. Teach is looking to hand out a lesson this week. Will he do it? Teach needs Rodgers in the worst way. Starting Van Jefferson is an interesting decision, but he and the Rams showed a lot Week 1. Mixon looks to be a stud, Hill stud, and Hockenson stud. The in-betweeners need to also have great weeks. Marvin Jones, Tee Higgins, and Jaylen Waddle. Right now TDG is a Favre favorite. TDG not starting Saquon will either make or break this week, the same goes for Teach and Latavius Murray (who scored last week). I think he still pulls it out, the injury bug bit in his favor and I think TDG pulls it out.
CrossFit v. Mush’s Mongrel

v.

Dak is all the way back, and so are injuries for CrossFit. Mostert is hurt and Ekeler’s receptions are hurt in the new offense. CMC was the RB1 last week, without a TD. I do not see that happening often, CMC scores a lot. Mike Davis is enough. Lockett and Amari Cooper Kupp all had insane week 1s. I think that keeps happening, or at least decent production. Mush had a good week 1. Deebo put on for the Mongrels. AB returned to his old form. Gesicki was icky, but the rest of the team were slightly above average to get it done week 1. That, WILL NOT WORK against CrossFit, he put up the PR of the season and is looking to repeat. CrossFit is a 30 point favorite, it’s over for Mush.
Pistol v. PeePaw

v.

Kyler Murray might be the highest scoring player in fantasy football this year. He was week 1 at least and my goodness did the Cards look good as they flushed the Titans. Pistol needs James Robinson to bounce back for trade purposes. Pistol also needs Sutton to get more targets. Sutton is going to be a key part of the rebuild. Pitts, well he’s getting targets, if he can figure it out as the season goes on, Year 2 will be lights out. PeePaw is looking to bounce back from Week 1. The injury bug has stalled his start. Irv Smith, Jeff Wilson, Gus Edwards, Rashaad Penny, Trey Sermon, and even Brandon Aiyuk. While some are injuries and others are the 49ers making you earn your keep, it’s all bad for PeePaw. The good news is Dalvin and Montgomery are rock solid. Monty is also in a revenge game, Pistol having traded PeePaw Monty for a first and Michael Carter. Adams, Agholor, Lamb, Jefferson, A.J. Brown, I mean I cannot mention this WR core enough. The interesting play is Zach Pascal, we do not know who the WR1 is for the Colts, it’s either Pittman or Pascal, one of these guys should takeover at some point. PeePaw has another week to figure things out, he’s a 26 point favorite, I’ll take PeePaw and Pistol will take a step closer to Pick 1.01.
Daddy Wombats v. Bruce

v.

D.W. lost week 1. He faced arguably one of the best teams in this league and in the world. He should get a fairer shake this week. Russ is still cooking. Kamara looks good, Metcalf started slow but finished good, and D-Hop sheesh. Jeudy is on the IR. Good news is that D.W. saw production from Gabriel Davis and Rondale Moore. Will Fuller is back. The big problem is Gio Bernard, that’s the RB2. The loss of Jeudy paired with Gio is a spell for disaster. Bruce is all juice. He is looking to cleanse the Week 1 loss. Zeke and Harris were so bad week 1. I heard a rumor that the Cowboys had 28 running plays called and Dak checked out of half of them. That is bad for Zeke. Harris, well the o-line is a huge concern, and they played the Bills D. Maybe he has a better showing against the Raiders who gave up a handful of big plays to the Ravens Week 1. Chark and Godwin both had great week 1s. The problem for Bruce is that an overview of his team, he doesn’t really have the big breakout guys. He just has a lot of solid players. While this will keep things competitive, will it win the week? Bruce is a 3 point favorite but I’m rolling with my dogs in D.W.
Trashman v. Bottom Bunk

v.

Trashman made the first bad decision of the year in starting Zack Moss. Aaron Jones was bad, Allen Robinson was bad, and Mark Andrews was bad. The good news for Trashman is his team can’t stay trash. Kenny G had a solid week 1 showing, which is promising because people had doubts. Bryan Edwards also had a solid Monday night which gives him some youth going forward. Chubb and Jones should both have good weeks. Add Allen Robinson against the Bengals, and I think Trashman has a mini bounce back. B.B. was electric last week, but I think the shock runs out. Edmonds and Hendy did just enough, I think B.B. should explore some trades while the iron is still hot. Jamaal Williams also had a monstrous week. With Swift nursing an injury, Williams will continue to see a lot of work. Kirk and Shepard also went off. I do not see all these things happening again. Calvin Ridley had a bad week, and with this Falcons offense, that may be a consistent theme. B.B. will be a slight underdog this week. I think the firepower between Jones and Chubb is enough to hold off B.B.’s hot start, I’ll throw B.B. in the trash this week and recycle a pick against B.B., I’m going with Trashman.
Batman v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

Batman and JD3 were a potential game of the week. Last year these two battled for the bottom. This year they both look to compete. Batman has Swift, Woods, and Waller. Waller is an absolute monster. Robert Woods also looked great. DeVonta Smith could continue on his success. Lamar needs to pull through in this dual against Pat Mahomes. JD3 had a nice performance from Miles Sanders in Week 1. Devin Singletary seems to have the backfield to himself. JD3 has Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Terry McLaurin, none of which had a big week. All performed well, but how long can those three stay quiet. I think it’s a big week for Keenan Allen. I won’t pick this one, but JD3 is a 5 point favorite.
It’s a great week to have a big name receiver, D-Hop, Keenan, and Davante all have great matchups. If you have Travis Kelce, and watched Darren Waller, I think you know Kelce is going to be big this week. I think Zeke is bad or at least very average again this week. I’m also worried about the Vikings going against Arizona. The Cards shut down Tennessee, who I think has a better offense than the Vikings. Kirk is worse than Tannehill. These are all issues if you want Theilen, JJ, or Cook to go off.
Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.
Dr. Tilt was 1-2 to Week 1.
From the desk of Dr. Tilt:
As of September 12th 2021 Dr. Tilt has officially disavowed the Atlanta Falcons. Dr. Tilt was led to believe that a change in coaching staff, the drafting of Kyle Pitts, and playing a team in salary cap hell at home in week 1 would change the narrative. It did not. The Atlanta Falcons will not be picked for the rest of the 2021 NFL Season regardless if they end up going 16-1. Betting the Atlanta Falcons is a sickness and Dr. Tilt should have known better from last season’s impressive 57% win rate in which the Falcons spurned the doc plenty of times. If you, the readers, choose to take the +12.5 on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week please do so in private. This is a responsible gambling blog and betting the Atlanta Falcons is irresponsible until further notice. Dr. Tilt will be taking no questions at this time.
Week 2 Picks:
New York Giants @ Washington Football Team (-3)
Taylor Heinicke vs Daniel Jones in primetime on Thursday Night Football. You can already hear the disgust in Troy Aikman’s voice as he watches two bottom tier quarterbacks duel it out on a short week. This line opened at WFT as 4.5 point favorites and has been bet down to 3. The analysis here isn’t that robust it’s quite simple. First, fade the public New York money coming in as the move from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Taylor Heinicke shouldn’t be that severe. Second, this game likely looks a whole lot like last week for the Giants. They are playing pre-season voted top tier defense again and likely will struggle to put up points (13 total in week 1) with only 1 Daniel Jones turnover. Expect more of the same and start week 2 off right with an easy cover.
Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers (o55.5)
Dr. Tilt rode the Dallas Cowboys over train early in the season last year until Dak Prescott got hurt. The reason last weeks over (which hit) against Tampa Bay wasn’t on the prescription was because of the uncertainty of what Dak would look like coming off the year long injury. Well, the verdict is in, against a pre-season top 10 defense Dak looked better than ever, and the Cowboys “improved” defense didn’t look that improved. Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense was slowed at times against a good WFT defense in week 1 but that won’t be a problem this week. Expect both teams in the 30’s scoring wise.
Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks (o 53.5)
Ryan Tannehill is likely still having nightmares about Chandler Jones who racked up 5 sacks in week 1. The front 7 of Arizona had a wonderful showing in week 1 against the Titans but in film study the Titans made a lot of mistakes and didn’t help themselves either. Seattle’s defense did pick up where it left off to end the season against the Colts but I wouldn’t expect the same showing from their front 7 as you got from the Cardinals. Expect the Titan’s 4th ranked (2020 DVOA) offense to find better rhythm in week 2. On the flip side of the ball the Titans defense is still a major work in progress. Kyler Murray eviscerated them and who’s the only other QB that can play a similar style to Kyler in creating time and throwing the ball down the field? You guessed it, Russel Wilson. No worries from the doc about Seattle scoring points at home in front of the 12th man for the first time in 18+ months. Expect points early and often and if you’re feeling a little DangerRuss parlay the over with the Seahawks -4.5.
Season Record: 1-2
Let’s dive into the Week 2 power rankings.

Now, I know what everyone is thinking. Why is PeePaw #3 with a loss, and why is B.B. #11 with a win. It’s easy, PeePaw still has the best receiving core in the game, and B.B. still has a roster full of backups. PeePaw needs to prove he stinks and B.B. needs to prove he’s good. That’s all it is. B.B. is facing the #10 team this week, another big win and he should shoot up the rankings. PeePaw is going against the last ranked team, so he needs to put up big time numbers to keep his rank.
That does it for this week. I need to adjust my sleep schedule, these late Thursday and Monday night games really throw you off. All the stress, excitement, and all late at night, really puts you behind on your sleep. So rest up, we got a big night tomorrow. Let’s see how things shake out. We will see you on Tuesday with the recap, and until then I hope you and yours have better tomorrow.
Let’s Go!
