Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Preview

Good morning everyone, we have the Week 4 Pot Cakes Dynasty Preview. It is almost impossible to have as bad of a slate of games as this (last minute changed) schedule. There should be a lot of one-sided games this week. We have two games within 10 projected points of each other. And one of those matchups is between two of the heavyweights, and the other is between two of the nosebleeds. These guys ain’t even in the ring. I’m talking pillar in front of their view, knee shoved in the corner of the concrete pipe leaking above them, cob webs, and urine smell nose bleed seats. Seeing as the heavy weights, one of them has been the game of the week outright too many times already, our sponsors, of which there are none, suggested we roll with a co-game of the week format. We have TWO (2) Games of the Week. We will then look at the remaining games, make some hopefully better predictions, hear from Dr. Tilt, and look at the new power rankings with an all new last place team. We will work our way towards the ring and start with the nose bleed co-game of the week.

Co-Game of the Week

Batman v. Bruce

v.

Batman fell apart last week, losing once in the PCDL, and also another league to Mush. Will the Dark Knight follow the lead on my blood pressure and rise? The first win of the season is a riddle Batman cannot solve. D’Andre Swift, RB3 on the year, is Batman’s only hope. He faces the very bad Chicago Bears. Lamar goes against a tough Denver Defense. BUT, Denver’s opponents have a combined 0-9 record (they are like Batman’s record). Can Lamar bring Denver back to down to Earth? (Bob Woods is gone, like Robin) Bob Woods is on pace for just over 100 targets. He saw about 130 the last three years with one less game a season. Stafford has put the (Dr.) freeze on Bob. If Juju is healthy this week, that should mean that he and Harris split the dump down passed Big Ben throws. Darren Waller started the season hot, hot, hot. And now he is the bane of Batman’s existence in this league. Noah Fant gets to play the Ravens, which is where Waller made his money. Hopefully, Fant shows the good side this week, as he was two faced last week only have 2.5 points on the bad Jets. Batman enters this matchup as a 7 point dog. Bruce hit late Monday night with a splash to get his first win. Zeke saw his captain down and yelled “all aboard” and sailed the team into victory. The biggest concerns Bruce has is whether or not his QB and RB2 can stay afloat. Joe Burrow is not winning any games for fantasy, and Jonathan Taylor is currently an RB3 in fantasy. Najee Harris has found his sea legs in the passing game. He is well on his way to have somewhere between 5-8 catches a game. Hunter Renfrow is full steam ahead on getting enough receptions a game to keep him as a flex play, averaging 12 a week is very solid. Bruce is looking for a life preserver at the tight end position. As this spot is one of his many weaknesses on his all but sinking ship. Bruce also has Godwin in the Brady v. Patriots revenge game. Godwin will be the anchor for Brady’s revenge. When it is all said and done, Batman the 7 point dog, loses, because Bruce has more guys that can breakout.

Co-Game of the Week

Touchdown Guy v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

Having used all my creative juices in the first Co-Game of the Week, this one speaks for itself. We have two of the best teams going at it. The #2 and #3 point scorers of this (early) season. The Tall Josh Allen squares off against Patrick Mahomes, in what should be an even matchup. RBs are TDG all the way. Saquon, Henry, and Gordon. Gordon being the sneaky play as the RB 11 so far. Who saw that coming? JD3 has Miles Sanders and Kenyan Drake (pending Jacobs status). Sanders is not playing well enough this year. He’s an RB3 and needs to find the end zone. The Eagles are hurting Sanders production. WRs the edge goes to JD3. JD3 has McLaurin, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and the TD Machine Ja’Marr Chase. TDG has the vets, Thielen, Mike Evans, Julio, Bob Woods (freshly traded), and Tim Patrick. Sneakily, Mike Williams is the WR2 on the year. If he continues his TD production, the odds swing to TDG in this department. Tim Patrick is looking for revenge after basically being given to TDG for a bag of chips. T-Pats has the chance with a depleted Broncos receiving core to finish as a WR2 on the year. TE matchup goes to TDG as Kittle is better than Logan Thomas. Right now JD3 is a 5 point dog, but the app gives him a slight advantage to win. This is a very good app, great app, I would never say anything bad about the app. But I will also never pick a JD3 game, should be a good one start to finish.

Daddy Wombat v. Teach

v.

Daddy Wombat is barely hanging on. Russ, Kamara, Hop, and Metcalf. Big time issues with the RB2, big time issues with Fuller, Davis, and Rondale Moore. Too inconsistent. Back in my day a man just went to work and put in his 8 hours. Woke up and did it again. Daddy Wombat doesn’t have that in his lineup. He has too many guys that show up some weeks and not others. He needs his 9-5 to get it done. He doesn’t have that in his lineup. Too many guys wanting vacations. Seasonal employment you got to go to work. We will see how D.W. does. Teach, well he’s still trying to get the top grade. Off to a 2-1 start. Mixon has been solid, could use more double digit weeks. Carson has been super solid, putting up decent points each week. Tyreek has not been great, but he’s due. D.J. Moore is top of the class. Lastly, we have Hockenson who had a bad week, but is still one of the top TEs to have. We will see who has gets the grade this week. Right now Teach is a 15 point favorite and I think he stays the teacher’s pet. Teach takes this one.

Pistol v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Pistol has had his safety off for the first three weeks of the season. Going 1-2 was not the start he was looking for, what is more concerning is how his team is almost winning each week. He is comparable to the Lions. Secretly (well the Lions are secretly) wants to lose but still ends up finding himself in some dog fights. Pistol is trying to cannon ball down to the last spot to get pick 1.01 of the draft. Kyler Murray, Kareem Hunt, James Robinson, Courtland Sutton, all stand in his way of failure. But a handful of injuries help Pistol reload his goal. These injuries pump James Washington and Michael Carter from the lineup to the starting lineup. Pistol is an 11 point dog and hoping to rifle off another loss. Mush will now face the 3rd matchup of a team with a losing record. There have been 4 weeks. Stafford is marching into the MVP discussion as he has the Rams offense clicking. Clyde and Gibby are both coming off of decent weeks. The artist formerly known as Hollywood Brown is looking to get his act together after a bunch of drops. This is on par for his fantasy production, as some weeks he’s bad, and other weeks he’s BAD (the good kind). Deebo finds himself in a pickle as the 49ers spread the ball around with Aiyuk, Kittle, and Deebo. Plus, the 49ers run every back they have. Touches are a concern, but Deebo always has a chance to bust a play wide open. Ruggs is a boom bust guy. The Raiders and Chargers should be a boom game. I expect a lot of deep shots from both sides, making Ruggs a sneaky start this week. OBJ looked great, and Gesicki finally got his targets. Mush is off to a lead in the rankings and is looking to gain more ground, I think he gets it done as the favorite.

CrossFit v. Bottom Bunk

v.

This matchup should be over fairly quickly. CrossFit lost CMC for a week or two. B.B. is looking to capitalize on that. CrossFit is rolling out the receivers, Lockette, Bob Anderson, Amari Cooper Kupp, and Beasley. With some injuries he’s going dual tight ends, Kelce and Ertz. RBs Ekeler and Davis, and QB Dak. The red flag is Zach Ertz, someone you would expect to be on Bottom Bunks team. B.B. had some issues with a trade, has had issues with the waiver wire, but nonetheless got Sammy Watkins giving up a 3rd round pick to Batman. The good news is that Rashod Bateman is expected to return to Baltimore, so this move makes your head scratch worse than bed bugs. Anyway, B.B. is rolling with Edmonds and Mattison, Corey Davis and Calvin Ridley, and who could forget Justin Tucker. B.B.’s team has to mention the kicker as he outscores most of his lineup. Every week his guys roll out of the wrong side of the bed. Bottom Bunk sits at a 2-1 record having faced team’s with a combined 3-6 record, teams that are all in the bottom half of point projections. This week, B.B. faces the top dog, CrossFit, who in only 3 weeks already has more than 100 points scored compared to B.B. CrossFit is a 40 point favorite, CrossFit can chalk this week up to an easy win.

Trashman v. PeePaw

v.

PeePaw has been in the spotlight too long. If you have made it this far, having read up on your favorite teams, Trashman and PeePaw go at it to see who should really be at the bottom of the ranks. Trashman is still rolling with Lawrence, despite having 3 other QBs on his bench with higher point totals on the season. Trashman also finds himself in a pinch, having to decide between Peyton Barber, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Zack Moss as the 4th RB in his lineup. Due to some injuries to Jarvis Landry and Curtis Samuel, Trashman reaches into his bag for Braxton Berrios and Bryan Edwards as starters. Allen Robinson is off to a terrible start and that is probably the biggest blow to his team. Chubb and Jones will need to get their elbows dirty this week to pull out a win as 16 point dogs. PeePaw is off to a terrible start. He did not start off hot last year and finished strong. Maybe it’s his thing. Monty and Sermon are the backfield duo as Cook looks to get healthy. Aiyuk showed up last week and hopefully can be consistent going forward. In place of A.J. Brown (hammy), PeePaw is rolling out Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Hopefully this move can get some of the targets that A.J. Brown was not connecting on. Davante is a lock and so is Lamb and Jefferson. PeePaw is also looking for his first productive week from the TE spot, going with Conklin. These injuries PeePaw has sustained early, Jeff Wilson, Gus Edwards, Irv Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dalvin Cook, all are slowing down PeePaw. Marlon Mack is in the trade rumors, and is something that could help PeePaw as his team gets back to full strength. Either way, PeePaw gets his first win due to better receivers.

Now some predictions.

Unfortunately, stud Brandin Cooks has a slow week. Josh Allen will throw for 400 yards and 3 tuds. Derrick Henry is going to have 200 rushing yards. Waller will be TE1 this week. Adams WR1 this week. Corey Davis gets back on track this week. Zeke has a bad week and so does Najee. Hollywood will struggle against the Broncos defense. That’s all I got

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 4 Picks

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.

It’s almost full tilt mode for Dr. Tilt.  After 3 straight weeks of going 1-2 this is the week the Doc promises to be back on the winning side.  Here’s the prescription for week 4.

Giants @ Saints -7.5
The Saints finally return to New Orleans to take on the G Mennnnnnnn (Chris Berman Voice).  The Super Dome will be rockin’. Don’t overthink this one.  Take the Saints.

Browns @ Vikings Over 51.5
Since the game Week 1 against the Bengals, the Vikings have been in back to back shoot outs.  Expect that to continue this week as the Browns travel up to US Bank Stadium.  This should be a fun one, with a lot of points put up.  Points are fun, take the over.

Raiders @ Chargers Over 52.5
According to the Doc’s calculation the primetime games have gone over in 8 of the first 9 through 3 weeks.  Don’t expect that to change on Monday Night.  Unfortunately we’ll all be stuck listening to Steve Levy, Lou Riddick and Brian Griese instead of the Manning Brothers.  Hopefully all the points make up for this.

Dr. Tilt was 1-2 to Week 3, 3-6 on the season.

From the desk of Dr. Tilt:

Season Record: 3-6

Let’s dive into the Week 4 power rankings.

Bottom Bunk is back. Not a ton of movement. More just guys falling down the charts. Pistol is in shooting range of a playoff spot, but he will likely fall as the season goes on.

That does it for Week 4. We got a thriller tomorrow night between the Bengals and Jags, we should have a lead dog tomorrow night and it might be your boy. We will have to see if we will still have two lossless and two winless teams after the week. With all these teams stacked up in the middle you could see some separation on top if CrossFit and TDG stay hot, we will find out next week. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
