Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Preview. We have a lot of moves that happened. Teams looking to cash in on a championship run and teams looking to start their rebuild. I suspect a few more teams will make a push in the coming weeks as things settle in, but right now we have Week 6. We take a look at our matchups and the Game of the Week, Dr. Tilt, some predictions, and an all new Power Rankings. Let’s dive into our game of the week.s

Game of the Week

Teach v. CrossFit

v.

We are off to a hot start in the PCDL. Teams are bunching up at the top, with only 6 spots it’s tighter than CrossFit’s hamstrings. Speaking of tight hamstrings, this matchup really revolves around whether CMC is back, or if Coach Rhule pulled a fast one on us by not placing CMC on the IR for three weeks. Pins and needles waiting to see what happens as Sunday approaches. That is enough of an ice breaker, let’s take a look at Teach’s students. Teach is hoping Aaron Rodgers takes it to the division rival Bears. Mixon is healthy? Mixon is a smash start against the Lions. Tyreek Hill, as always, is a roller coaster. This juicy matchup against the Football Team should get Tyreek in one of his 20+ point games. T.J. Hockenson is one of the greatest mysteries of this fantasy football season. First and Second period, T.J. was top of the class, now, not so much. Is this a get right game for T.J.? Probably not as the Bengals are a very solid team this year. D.J. Moore had his first “bad” week last week. If CMC is back, Moore should be more average to above average as some of the pressure is taken off of him and Darnold. CrossFit has a QB controversy. Dak and Brady both very good at football. The bye week is weighing on CrossFit, losing Mike Davis and Jamison Crowder, last week starters from his lineup. The waiver wire and CMC are his only hope. Ekeler, Lockett, and Amari Cooper Kupp are all big names for CrossFit to rely on. CrossFit is a 23 point favorite and I think his stars shine a little brighter than Teach.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Daddy Wombat

v.

Mush got his teeth kicked in last week. D.W. got a big win (against a winless team). Mush is sporting Stafford, Jacobs, Gibby, Hollywood, Diontae, and A.B. Plus the new hotness that is Dawson Knox (I miss you). With injuries to Clyde and the bye week taking out Deebo, Mush will likely look to one of his young WRs to fill the void. Boom or bust, either way it should not matter. Daddy Wombat has no depth. Russ is out so it’s time to Hurts so good. Damien Williams is the RB1, the RB2 is Kamara on a bye. Likely fill in candidate is Gio Bernard. No thank you. WR core is ok for another week, Metcalf, Claypool, and Hopkins. With other young boom or bust guys, D.W. needs the booming. I don’t see it. Mush is likely a 30 point favorite once rosters are figured out, Mush glides by in an easy win.

Bruce v. Pistol

v.

Bruce is not messing around this year. Zeke, JT, Fournette, and Najee all had big weeks and I expect that to continue. Emmanuel Sanders has been a sneaky start all year. Tyler Boyd and Renfrow do just enough. Chris Godwin has underperformed but still give enough each week to keep Bruce in games. Pistol hot off a win. Pistol hot off a big trade. A likely late first, Kareem Hunt, and Michael Thomas to PeePaw for A.J. Brown. This hurts Pistols’ chances of winning, but gives him a good long term outlook. Murray, James Rob, Brown, Sutton, and Toney make up his big names. However, these young bucks are not going to show out every week early in their careers. Bruce is likely a 30 point favorite, he stays on his heater.

PeePaw v. Batman

v.

PeePaw is winless, Batman has 1 win. This is an ugly one. PeePaw took Kareem Hunt and traded for Justin Herbert. Herbert will be PeePaw’s QB for a long time. Davante, Lamb, and Jefferson make out the rest of his lineup. These 4 must put up huge numbers to have a chance. Dalvin Cook’s injury still looming, if he’s healthy, the odds will likely even up. Batman hot off a win. Lamar was a monster. Gaskin was a monster. Swift was a monster. He will need all that, plus Shenault, DeVonta Smith, and Waller to have big games to get this win. Batman is currently 10 point favorite, but if Cook is healthy it will swing to PeePaw. Cook in, PeePaw, Cook out, Batman.

Bottom Bunk v. Touchdown Guy

v.

We have our bottom scorer versus our top scorer. Bottom Bunk has Olamide Zaccheaus (who was a starter for B.B., I’m not joking, this guy was in his starting lineup), on the bye this week. Keelan Cole on his bench is also on a bye. This leaves his only options as Kendrick Bourne and Sterling Shepard to start. If Sterling Shepard is still out, then B.B. will not have a complete starting lineup. He already has four RBs in his starting lineup, which is the max, he has to find either a TE or WR to fill the last starting spot if Shepard is out. This is bad, notice how I’m not even talking about his starters. BAD. Touchdown Guy has no issues. Josh Allen is tall. Derrick Henry will likely have a “down” week, but that’s still 15 points. Darrel Williams is now the starter for the Chiefs and should help TDG. Thielen had a bad week but is still solid. Mike and Mike are both elite. Yah, Mike Williams is elite. Bob Woods is so back. B.B. is going to be a 50ish point dog once this is all cleared up. B.B. may get doubled up again this week, which would be a first in PCDL history. Give me TDG by Fleetwood Mac.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Trashman

v.

JonnyDIII took one on the chin last week. Losing to a team that is in a rebuild is an the worst. It really demoralizes you. JD3 pulled off a trade, sending Kareem Hunt to his starting lineup. No more start backup QB, but this was a much needed move. JD3 is sporting Mahomes, Sanders, Hunt, Keenan Allen, McLaurin, Diggs, and Pittman. It is a good group. JD3 saw a lack of TDs last week, not that it would have made a huge difference, but this is an easy bounce back game. Trashman, he has a couple byes that will hurt him. Superstar Cordarrelle Patterson is on a bye. Kenny G is hurt. Allen Rob, well he’s having a bad year, and on top of that, he will go up against a banged up Packers Defense. But I think that is good for Mooney’s big play capability rather than A-Rob. Nick Chub and Aaron Jones, very good, but it’s the rest of Trashman’s team that is not great. JD3 is probably going to be a 45 point favorite, I won’t pick this one, but I think JD3 has a good shot.

Some quick predictions: Chase Claypool is all the way back, James Rob big week, and I think Carolina will give the Vikings a tough go this week, low scoring game, low scoring fantasy.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Week 6 Dr. Tilt

The Doc told you Week 5 was the week he’d turn it around and he did.  And as is tradition, when the Doc goes 3-0 that means BONUS PICK.  Was it a flash of pure luck or has Dr. Tilt found his groove?

Green Bay Packers (-4.5) @ Chicago Bears

If the Bears win this game, they will be in sole possession of first place in the NFC North.  Matt Nagy doesn’t deserve to be in first place of anything and won’t be.  Aaron Rodgers loves nothing more than beating the Bears.  He’s 9-1 against Chicago dating back to 2016 with wins by an average of almost 12 points per game.  Outside of a spectacular throw here and there the Packers offense hasn’t found its rhythm quite yet but an opportunity to show out against the Bears is sure to do the trick.

Dallas Cowboys @ New England Patriots Under 52

The Cowboys have gone over in 4 of their first 5 games this year.  Their only missed over was of course the pick the Doc handed out in Week 2 against the Chargers.  Why go contrarian then?  The Patriots offense is ugly, and the Doc loves this spot for Bill Belichick against Mike McCarthy.  The only way for the Patriots to keep this interesting is to dink n dunk their way to eating clock and minimizing possessions.  The Cowboys (deservingly) are getting a lot of love this week.  The Doc expects them to win but not in the high-scoring fashion they have so far this year.

Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers (-4.5)

Just bet against Geno Smith until it doesn’t work.  That’s it, that’s the analysis.

**BONUS PICK**

Buffalo Bills (-5.5) @ Tennessee Titans

The first bonus pick of the year is a delight on Monday Night Football.  The Buffalo Bills are an absolute wagon right now.  Some are asking is this a letdown spot after the Chiefs win?  The Doc says no.  The Titans defense invites a track meet each and every week and this Bills offense is going to blow right by them.  Monday Night Football has treated us to some close and exciting games to start the season.  The Doc doesn’t think this will be one of them, lay the points.

Now for the Power Rankings

We have a few rules we hold near and dear on the power rankings. Rule #1 under 100 points you are last. Rule #2 see Rule #1. Pretty simple stuff.

Well that does it for the Week 6 Preview. With a lot of top v. bottom matchups this could separate the league up. We will see. With this being a 14 week season getting to 7 wins or loses is the breaking point for playoffs. Teams are sneaking up on that. In the next three weeks we will have some answers. We will see who gets closer on Tuesday. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
