Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Preview

Good morning everyone, we have the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Preview. We are over the hump and in the home stretch for playoff consideration. As of now the byes would go to Touchdown Guy and Mush, and Wild Card matchups between CrossFit and JonnyDIII, and Bruce and Teach. Teach and JD3 have a 1 game lead and points tie breaker separating themselves from the Consolation Teams. They have to hold their breath every week here on out until they get a two game lead. Let’s just say this is an important week. We will look at matchups, Dr. Tilt, and an all new power rankings. This week’s Game of the Week is important for deciding that first week playoff bye. Let’s get to it.

Game of the Week

Mush’s Mongrels v. CrossFit

v.

This is an exciting matchup. We have two teams that are missing key players. Mush is missing Clyde and J.K. to the IR, as well as Knox with a broken hand, Josh Jacobs, Hollywood, and Ruggs to the bye. CrossFit is missing Mostert and CMC to IR. I think it’s pretty even. CrossFit got the week 2 win and is hoping to win this week to put him in that #2 spot in the standings. Mush is looking to remain a big #2. Mush has a lot of depth at RB so he can get by this week with all his missing RBs. Hendy and Javonte both have favorable matchups. Hendy plays Houston and Javonte has the Football Team. Mush has a lot of WRs that are all the same, Deebo is the one standout. Then you have Corey Davis, Diontae Johnson, and A.B. It is a good mix of guys. CrossFit misses CMC but has managed to stay relevant because everyone on his team is good. Ekeler has a tough matchup with the Pats, Kupp goes against the Texans, and Lockett has the Jags. These bad matchups will have to score to get CrossFit the bump he needs. CrossFit also has Amari and Travis Kelce. It looks like CrossFit will be a 14 point favorite. I have to chalk this one up to CrossFit, I think gets the W and jumps a spot in the standings.

Touchdown Guy v. Teach

v.

Week 2 TDG won the Week 2 game of the Week over Teach. Teach is out for revenge. This is another important game. TDG has a one game lead on the comp, and 30 points on Mush. The rest of the league needs TDG to have a couple loses. Well, unless you are the 6 seed, you would like to see Teach lose to give yourself a game lead. TDG gets the Tall Josh Allen back. Derrick Henry is looking to bounce back from a “down week”. Mike Williams and Thielen are back from bye as well. The sneaky play will be how James Conner does against the Packers defense. The Packers defense has been good lately, but it’s still the Packers. Conner is sneaky good right now. Teach is looking to bounce back from an absolutely embarrassing loss. Teach has Mixon against the Jets, D.J. Moore against the Falcons, Hockenson against Philly, and Tyreek in prime time against the Giants. Every week we are waiting for the Chiefs get right game. What better time to do it, Monday Night in front of the whole world. Mahomes at the very least is sore from his head getting bent back last weekend. This only means that the skill guys will have to work a little harder. Hill can and will do just that. TDG is favored by 12 and I think (and hope because I am the 6th seed) he wins it this week.

Bottom Bunk v. Trashman

v.

We covered two really good matchups, now let’s look at two really bad teams in a close matchup. Bottom Bunk is bad. He has Chase Edmonds, Calvin Ridley, and Dallas Goedert. B.B. has roster issues and will struggle to have a legal roster. We will see. Trashman lost Chubb last week and I would guess Chubb is out another week. He does have the Browns RB1 with D’Ernest Johnson, or Chubb. Whoever goes Trashman has. Cordarrelle Patterson just scores tuds. The biggest issue for Trashman is Jarvis Landry and Allen Robinson, two WRs that use to be target machines now continually hurt his team. I’m guessing Trashman will be about a 10 point favorite come kickoff, I want B.B. to win, but I think Trashman takes it.

Bruce v. Daddy Wombat

v.

Bruce is banging on the playoff steps. He wants to win this whole thing. Bruce is rocking Zeke, JT, Fournette, and Najee. He has Damien Harris on his bench. Team stacked up at RB. For WRs he has Chris Godwin and he’s hoping the bye week hasn’t stopped Emmanuel Sanders production. Hunter Henry is on a hot streak so Bruce is hoping that stays the same too. Daddy Wombat is fresh off a great win. The trio of Metcalf, Kamara, and D-Hop looks incredible. With D-Hops health up in the air for Thursday night, things could go South quick. D.W. has one of the best fantasy QBs out there. The problem is this guy stinks at actual football. I guess stinks is bad to say, he just can’t win games. But Jalen Hurts is QB5 and D.W. will need all of that for this matchup. Right now Bruce is a 12 point favorite, I think Bruce’s backs get it done.

PeePaw v. Pistol

v.

PeePaw is still hanging onto one win. He has Dalvin Cook, Lamb, Jefferson, and EQ St. Brown in place of Adams. It is not looking good for PeePaw. I got nothing for him. The IR has killed PeePaw’s hopes. Pistol is actually kind of good. He’s the team you do not want to face. He’s a win on your calendar but you cannot take your eye off of it. Pistol has Murray, James Rob, Sutton, A.J. Brown, and Kyle Pitts. These guys have been playing better than expectations on the season. Well, at least since Pistol has had them. Pistol is a 4 point dog, but somehow the app has his win meter as more. I think Pistol gets it done and ruins his draft pick.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Batman

v.

JD3 is rough. Everyone is hurt, but not hurt enough. Just enough to make you mad. If Sanders is out it means Gainwell is in, if they both in then JD3 hates himself. Keenan Allen has to close out the year strong. Terry, Cooks, Chase, Diggs, and Pittman, someone make a move. JD3 needs a win to stay in the playoff picture. Batman is fresh off a win. He is making a run at the title whether he likes it or not. Gaskin, Swift, Shenault, Smith, MVS, Mitchell, and Chuba is a weird group of guys, but they sneaky. These guys are just enough. Like any team, Batman just needs one guy to go off. JD3 is a 14 point favorite, but Batman loves being the underdog.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 8 Picks

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Here’s the Week 8 prescription from the Doc

Packers +6.5 @ Cardinals

I know what you’re all saying, “But Doc, Davante is out!!” Well the Packers are 6-0 over the last two seasons without him. The Cardinals are missing JJ Watt and Hopkins hasn’t practiced this week. Take the points in this one.

Bengals -10.5 @ Jets

Mike White is the starting QB for the Jets. That’s all you need to know.

Patriots @ Chargers -5

The Pats have yet to beat a good team this year. The Chargers are fresh off a bye and getting embarrassed by the Ravens. Look for them to win this one by a touchdown or more.

Now for the Power Rankings

PeePaw missed 100 points, he is last. TDG is #1 on the app, so he’s #1 here.

I’ve said it before, we are half way through the regular season. Right now you have a good idea of how many more wins you need to get through the week. If you are in the top half of the league, four wins is what you need. If you are a bottom half team, you might get by with four wins but you need some help. The last 7 games will be tight. We will see how they go. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
