Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Recap. I have no clue what I’m typing as I semi “unplugged” from the fantasy football world this weekend. I used a long weekend to wake up before the sunrise and let the cool fall air fill my lungs to which my body would respond as if a pack of Marlboro Reds (not a sponsor) was my only friend. We will look at the game of the week, other matchups, and Dr. Tilt. Let’s get to it.
Game of the Week
Mush’s Mongrels v. CrossFit

v.

Mush was on a heater to start the year. Some were starting to say he was the team to beat. CrossFit is known for his hot starts and then watches his team slowly fall apart due to injuries. This is one of those great matchups that you have no idea who will win until the final whistle blows. Mush made a trade couple weeks back for Darrell Henderson and got a monster 9 plus 10 equals 21 points from him. Boston Scott as a scoop and start ended with 18 points. Deebo had an early almost house call that would end in 20 points. Diontae Johnson continued his consistent year with a dozen. However, CrossFit won three matchups to put him over Mush. Ekeler matched Hendy’s 21. Lockett matched Deebo’s 20. Cooper Kupp got oppo of Diontae and ended with 21. CrossFit also had Cole Beasely add 16 to almost match Boston Scott. The big difference is Amari Cooper putting up double deuce, and OBJ adding a whole point. CrossFit wins 179.27 to 141.95.
Touchdown Guy v. Teach

v.

Touchdown Guy needed a win in the worst way. He got a win, but at what cost. Derrick Henry, Fantasy Football legend, TD machine, 100 yard machine, big play save the day D-Henry, was injured and could be done for the season. Melly got 17, Darrel Williams had 14, James Connor had 14, Thielen with 16, Evans with 11, and Bob Woods added 19 points. This is the type of production everyone wants. Teach was outclassed in this matchup. Teach is now on the bubble of the playoffs. Teach had 23 from Mixon, 21 from Tyreek Hill, 13 from Hockenson, and 11 from Higgins. Teach actually had a decent week, but not a championship week. If Teach wants to compete with the big dogs he better start bulking up his roster. Why would a team in contention hang onto their first round pick when they are just one piece away? TDG wins 159.55 to 131.18.
Bottom Bunk v. Trashman

v.

Bottom Bunk is the worst manager in the history of the PCDL. Starting two players who were out, trading a guy twice, and having two open taxi spots. I do not know what to say. B.B. ended with 85.79 points, no player worth mentioning. Even with a perfect roster, B.B. ends with 96.59. Trashman still wanted it to be a close game. Aaron Jones put up 20 and Cordarrelle Patterson added 16. Trashman has the biggest waiver pick up with Patterson and the biggest bust in Allen Robinson. Hopefully for Trashman Robinson is traded by the time you read this. Trashman wins 105.6 to 85.79.
Bruce v. Daddy Wombat

v.

Bruce is all business. JT and Najee put up 19 a piece. Chris Godwin and Tyler Boyd had 19 and 17 respectively. Bruce did see a lack in production from Fournette with 5 and Emmanual Sanders with a goose egg. Bruce put up really decent numbers, his competition did not. Daddy Wombat made a trade for James Robinson. That resulted in a net loss of 3.4 points. James Rob got 4.4 and hurt. Kamara and Metcalf were the two bright spots. Kamara had 15 and Metcalf had 19. Bruce wins 145.85 to 90.77.
PeePaw v. Pistol

v.

PeePaw is bad. Aiyuk had his second good game with 11 points. CeeDee Lamb added 14. That is all. Pistol is just a weird team. Michael Carter had 27, Tre’Quan Smith had 11, Cobb had 15, and A.J. Brown had 26. Pistol continues to stay as a mediocre team. Last year wanting to win, this year wanting to lose. Pistol is the team no one wants to play, in fact, Pistol probably doesn’t even want to play, Pistol wants to draft. Pistol wins 125.1 to 86.75.
JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Batman

v.

This game came down to the wire. Well, not in the way you might think, but Monday night was important nonetheless. JD3 had a monster week from Michael Pittman Jr. with 25. Keenan Allen had 16, Chase 11, Cooks 17, and Diggs 12, to show that his WR core is solid. The RBs are terrible and will not be mentioned. Batman saw good weeks from Elijah Mitchell with 19, Chuba Hubbard with 13, and DeVante Parker with 12. The rest of the team was very quiet. Lamar and Waller both were on bye, and those two big names would have helped. JD3 wins 135.77 to 100.3. Monday night was important as Batman made it over the 100 point hump on a late Butker field goal.
Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Nope.
Week 8 1-2; Overall Record 10-15
Not a great look for Dr. Tilt.
We have a trade alert, Bottom Bunk has sent Calvin Ridley to PeePaw for a likely later first round and earlier second round pick.
Well that does it for Week 8. We do not have any teams locked into the playoffs, but we are two weeks away from a potential first team eliminated from playoff contention. I will not name names, but it has been a fall from grace for this franchise. Tomorrow we will dive into Week 9 and some power rankings. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.
Let’s Go!
