Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Round 2 Recap. Teams found themselves in tight pinches with players going on the Covid reserve, making it a difficult playoff weekend. Injuries, Covid, and Dr. Tilt, we take a look at the matchups and how Dr. Tilt turned his season around.
#1 Touchdown Guy v. #5 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons
v.
Touchdown Guy had a tough bye week losing Mike Evans. Then Covid prevented Mike Williams from suiting up. Then James Conner a last minute inactive. TDG also had D-Train and Robert Woods on his IR from earlier in the year. TDG had injuries last year and came out victorious. TDG had a panic start of T.Y. Hilton Thursday Night. T.Y. outscored Michael Pittman, giving TDG an early boost of confidence. TDG also saw a big game from the Tall Josh Allen putting up 43 and then a mid-day boost from Amon-Ra St. Brown adding 21 points. The problems fall on the running backs. Darrell Williams and Josh Jacobs each added 10 points. Saquon and Melvin Gordon combined for 3.8 points. These two single handedly torpedoed the season. JD3 did just enough. Highlights include Gerald Everett’s 14, Diggs 18, and Sony’s 20 points. Solid performances across the board, and health, got JD3 the victory 142.2 to 125.8. JD3 now enters the championship week without Miles Sanders.
#2 Bruce v. #3 CrossFit

In all our year of the PCDL never has a playoff bye team won. Bruce was looking to change the narrative. Bruce lost Godwin and Fournette for his playoff push. Good thing Bruce was forced to play Damien Harris, Harris had 28 points. Najee Harris had 13 points, Zeke added 16, and J.T. had a bad 10 points. Bruce also got some WR help, Renfrow had 12 and Tyler Boyd added 16. Bruce was all over the waiver wire adding QBs, due to Covid he still had to role with Joey B and Joey B delivered a cool 55 points. CrossFit got his QB matchup wrong. It did not matter, but it is important to point that out. Amari Cooper Kupp combined for 34 points. The rest of his team let him down with no other skill position hitting the double figures. Bruce wins 162.65 to 116.14. Bruce moves on to the championship and will be reviewing his WR room closely.
#7 Trashman v. #10 Pistol
v.
Trashman went with his rookie and it cost him. Trevor Lawrence scored 8 less points than Carson Wentz. Also starting Allen Robinson, who did not play, over anyone else on his bench and majority of his taxi, cost him the game. Trashman saw big weeks from Andrews with 22, Chubb with 26, and Penny’s 19. It was not enough as Pistol had an insane week again. Michael Carter had 13, Braxton Berrios added 19, Lazard had 12, Pitts added 13, and A.J. Brown returned to form adding 26 points. Pistol wins 141.61 to 138.66 and has either pick 1.13 or 2.26 to look forward to.
#8 Teach v. #9 PeePaw
v.
Teach lost to PeePaw to end the regular season. A loss here will haunt Teach all offseason. Teach saw 28 from Mixon, 20 from Waddle, 11 from Marvin Jones, and a monstrous 37 from Tee Higgins. Teach made a smart move in benching Tyreek Hill, but missed out on the 28 points of Rex Burkhead. Missing 28 points would end up being the end of Teach. PeePaw is full strength for the most part. He saw big weeks all over, 28 from Davante, 20 from Monty, 18 from Schultz, 13 each 49er Aiyuk and Jeff Wilson, 15 from each AB and JJ, and a solid 10 from CeeDee Lamb. PeePaw was the lead dog scoring 176 points to Teach’s 164.3 points. PeePaw will have another top end pick next year.
