Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Week Recap. We announce a new champion, we have four extra picks given out, and we have Dr. Tilt fighting for his above .500 life. Let’s dive in.
Championship Game

#2 Bruce v. #5 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

Regardless of the winner, this would be a great story. Bruce taking last place a season ago and JD3 being the lowest seed to ever win the PCDL. History would have to wait until Monday night. No Thursday games allowed for the app to swing the projection total in JD3’s favor as each day passed. Both sides knew their matchup would swing based on the QB play of the Chiefs/Bengals game. JD3 saw a 30 point game from Mahomes. Bruce saw 50 from Burrow. Any other week this would have likely ended the game. BUT, JD3, who acquired the 1.02 pick in the 2021 Rookie Draft selected Ja’Marr Chase, the 21 year old, #4 Fantasy WR, #3 Rookie in Fantasy, #1 Rookie in Fantasy as a RB/WR/TE, and #6 in Fantasy as a RB/WR/TE. Chase put up 50 points to neutralize the 50 point performance of Joey B. Bruce did see a score from Boyd giving him 11 points. K.J. Osbourn scored a late Sunday night score giving him 12. Damien Harris had 17 and so did JT. Hunter Renfrow showed up Championship week with 23 points and one TD called back. Gronk had 15 and Zeke was a letdown with 3 points. JD3 saw good scoring from Chase and Mahomes but was not done. The position of weakness for JD3 was RB all year, but drafting for championship week JD3 saw Sony and Sing combine for 40 points. Solid WR performances by Mooney with 16, Cooks with 16, Keenan Allen with 12, and Diggs and Pittman both getting 7. Bruce and JD3 saw a wash with Everett and Hunter Henry both getting 5 points. Kicking edge went to JD3. This all comes down to a 31 point lead for JD3 heading into the Monday night game. Monday night featured the Pick 1.01 from the PCDL 2021 Rookie Draft, Najee Harris. This was likely Big Ben’s last home game, so a lot going on Monday night, could it lead to Najee’s career best fantasy performance? Najee came up with 28.1 points. JD3 wins 195.95 to 192.8. JD3 completed the gauntlet of facing the toughest playoff schedule possible. I was lucky enough to catch up with the Champion and he had this to say, “To be the best you have to beat the best and I did that most of the year, except when I lost to B.B. twice.” Congrats on the great year JD3.
#1 Touchdown Guy v. #3 CrossFit

v.

Touchdown Guy had the best team this year, lost some guys due to injury and still managed to find suitable replacements. Replacement #1 was Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown scored 31 points for TDG and was the difference maker. Arguably the biggest steal of the 2021 Rookie Draft. CrossFit saw solid production from his guys. Kupp and Ekeler each had 18, Lockett and Kelce each had 10, Mike Davis saw 12, and Amari Cooper added 9. TDG did not back down. He had Darrel Williams add 24, Josh Jacobs had 16, Mike Williams had 13, Mike Evans had 12, Callaway had 12, and Saquon even added 10. TDG got just enough from his stars and even more from his early season backups. TDG wins 162.9 to 147.9 and finishes 3rd. TDG has not lost a final season game.
Consolation Bracket Championship for Pick 1.13.
#9 PeePaw v. #10 Pistol

v.

Pick 1.13 and 2.13 were on the line. PeePaw having traded his 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks and maybe even other picks he previously acquired, could really use the 1.13. Pistol has 3 Firsts, one more can’t hurt? PeePaw had Monty and Foreman each put up 19 points. Davante had 25. Aiyuk added 13. The rest of the team was ok to fairly quiet. Pistol always has nobodies score a lot of points. Boston Scott put up 22 for Pistol and Braxton Berrios added 24. Lazard also added 16 points. A later score by Dare Ogunbowale added 13 points. Pistol had his core put up ok to quiet numbers. The boom players for Pistol were what lead Pistol to victory. Pistol now has 4 firsts and PeePaw has a second. Pistol won 153.45 to 138.45.
Consolation Bracket Game for Pick 3.13
#7 Trashman v. #8 Teach

v.

Winner gets pick 3.13 and loser gets 4.13. Trashman for the second week in a row, with a pick on the line, started a player that was on the Covid list. Trashman saw 31 from Penny, 12 from Andrews, 13 from Aaron Jones, and 13 from pick 1.04 Trevor Lawrence. Teach had 12 from Mixon and 30 from Rodgers. The rest of the teams seemingly gave up and walked off the field. Trashman entered Monday night needing 17 points from Jarvis Landry and Nick Chubb. The Browns due combined for 16.7. Teach hangs on and wins 102.2 to 98.47. Teach receives pick 3.13 and Trashman receives 4.13.
Now let’s dive into Dr. Tilt.
