Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Team Review. It is the off-season, so not a lot is going on. Why not dive into each team’s weaknesses for them to think about how they can restructure their team through the draft? Let’s go team by team, worst to first (while we still can).
Bottom Bunk

There’s not a lot of teams that need a complete rebuild, luckily for Bottom Bunk he does not have to completely rebuild, he has a kicker. B.B. also has Chase Edmonds who was solid when healthy, but is now on Miami? How will that shake out with Myles Gaskin? Christian Kirk might be the Jaguars WR1, which is great unless you look at how Jaguars WR1’s have done over the years. Goedert has some potential. Now B.B. has Tua and Watson, so he has a lot of uncertainty at QB. Now, I mentioned 5 players, one of which cannot start (2 QBs). That is a big time issue. There are 11 spots and he’s got 4 guys. None of the 4 guys are super stars. There is a saving grace. B.B. has 5 firsts and 3 seconds. Those are 8 players that should at least provide hope for two years from now. B.B. needs half those guys to hit right away to put up a competent team. B.B.’s biggest concern will be RB and WR. He needs 3 of each at least. I fully expect to see B.B. in this same spot next year.
Daddy Wombat

Daddy Wombat is down pretty bad. He has some young WRs, he has D-Hop, Metcalf, Rondale Moore, Jeudy, and Claypool. Gabriel Davis also showed a flash at the end of the year. Running back wise D.W. has Kamara and that is it, Kamara may face a suspension at the start of next year. Now we have some tight ends, Higbee and the young Trautman. QB wise D.W. has Hurts and Russ, so he is set there. Daddy Wombat has some big name guys and a decent amount of talent at WR. However, D.W. is desperate for an RB and depth. D.W. is also without a first round pick taking the chance on James Rob, D.W. needs to hit big on pick 2.01. D.W. needs to get an RB through the draft or trade and then just add as many pieces as possible.
Pistol

Pistol needs a lot of help, but the good news is he has early picks. Pistol is set at QB and TE. Those are two positions that can haunt you. They are frustrating positions to not have a guy. You can justify a plug and play for a RB and WR and not feel bad about it. But when your whole position group stinks, it really makes you feel bad. The good and bad news for Pistol is that he has no RBs and no WRs. Ok, he has Michael Carter, A.J. Brown, Courtland Sutton, and Kadarius Toney. Having a New York Jets RB and 3 WRs in a league where you have to start at least 3 WRs each week is not great. Pistol has the 2, 3, and 9 picks. He should be able to get a starting WR and RB with those three picks. He’s a few years out, but he should be able to line things up as the years pass.
PeePaw

PeePaw had a rough go last year. His team is great. Herbert, Cook, Monty, Lamb, Jefferson, Adams, Aiyuk, and hopefully Michael Thomas or Calvin Ridley. Not a lot of improvement needed, it’s more of a health thing. He’s got no picks, so he has to find someone. He needs the best available free agent that is a RB or WR. PeePaw should make a run at it this year.
Teach

Teach just missed the cut. His team shows it. He has Rodgers and has Hockenson and Albert Okwuegbunam fresh off of the Noah Fant trade to Seattle. Mix in his RBs of Mixon and Rhamondre Stevenson. He clearly needs one more RB. At WR he has Waddle, Higgins, Tyreek Hill, and K.J. Osborn? Teach is missing some depth at both position. The good news is Teach has two firsts. This gives him a decent shot at getting depth at both positions. Teach should be able to bounce back with his draft picks. Teach just has to take what comes to him, if he forces it he’ll be in a D.J. Moore situation.
Trashman

Trashman did the unthinkable last year in taking Trevor Lawrence with the 1.04. We will see if he doubles down on a QB again this year with the 1.06. Trashman has an interesting situation at RB. Aaron Jones and Nick Chubb. But he has the addition of Cordarrelle Patterson, Cam Akers, and Rashaad Penny are all potential RBs to add to the mix. Trashman also has WRs, but they are not any good. A-Rob, Juice, Golladay, and Curty Sam. That is not a great start. He has TE sealed up with Mark Andrews. The big thing for Trashman is to add WRs to his roster. Without WRs he is in big time trouble. No WRs, well then Trashman will continue to just miss the cut.
Batman

Now we are getting into the teams that matter. Batman has the future in A.J. Dillon, Chuba might be the RB1 in Carolina, Elijah might be the RB1 in San Fran, oh did I mention D’Andre Swift? He has a good group of young RBs. He has two TEs, Waller and Seattle’s new TE Noah Fant. The issue is WR. He has DeVonta Smith. Sure Juju could land somewhere good, Shenault just saw the Jags spend money on a lot of bad guys, including Zay Jones. Batman just needs some WR help bad. Batman has Lamar, so everything except WR is figured out. Batman needs to get a coupe young WRs in the draft and he should be in a good spot for years to come.
Mush’s Mongrels

Mush has the RBs. Clyde, Gibby, Dobbins, and Javonte. He has average WRs, Hollywood, Diontae, Deebo, Gallup, Corey Davis, and Josh Palmer. He has Dawson Knox and Gesicki. Stafford and Mac Jones are his QBs. He really can go any direction he wants. I think Mush needs to sure up that WR core a little better. Maybe pairing two of those guys to get an elite guy. Mush only has a second and a fifth so maybe he uses those picks to trade with a WR to upgrade. Deebo was a monster last year, but that was the only big hitter he had. Mush needs that second big hitter to push him over the edge. Mush is in a great spot with rumors of Gibby and Javonte being the workhorses going forward. Add one more WR and boy oh boy.
CrossFit

CrossFit’s team is so gross. He has 4 QBs, Brady, Prescott, Fields, and Ehlinger. RBs it is Ekeler and CMC. WRs it is Lockett and Amari Cooper Kupp. CrossFit has 3 TEs Kelce, Ertz, and Freiermuth. He has too many people in the wrong positions. No one should start two tight ends, the points are in the other positions. He has 3 capable Qbs, we only start one. His second RB is Mike Davis or Raheem Mostert? His depth at WR includes Robbie Anderson and Cole Beasley. CrossFit has to wait until the second round, he does not have a first for the next two years. It is not a great look for CrossFit, I think he has to move a QB and a TE to try and prevent a future collapse for his team.
Touchdown Guy

TDG has the Tall Josh Allen, D-Train, Josh Jacobs, James Conner on a new deal and his backfield, Barkley, Mike Evans, Mike Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Thielen, Kittle, Melvin Gordon, Bob Woods, Uzomah, and the freshly cut Julio Jones. Touchdown Guy has his team. He is fine. TDG just needs to find depth. The issue is that he only has a 3rd and 5th to work with. TDG maybe trades an RB for some youth to offset (woo woo woo woo woo) his old team.
Bruce

This is an easy draft for Bruce. Pick 24 he takes a WR. Bruce has Burrow, Jimmy G, Taysom Hill, and Davis Mills. He has Gronk and Hunter Henry. The frustrating positions are set. RBs he is stacked with Zeke, Najee, Fournette, JT, and Damien Harris. He also has a couple good young WRs, Bateman, Pascal, Godwin, Renfrow, Moore, and Boyd. The WR position is his weakness. None of those WRs scream elite. He needs to continue to keep an eye on that position and improve there to get over his heartbreaking Championship loss.
JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

This is another obvious one. Pick 25 JD3 needs to take an RB. JD3 should draft 5 RBs and hope one sticks. JD3 only has Mahomes so maybe he dabbles with a rookie QB. At TE he has Logan Thomas and Gerald Everett. JD3 may dabble there too. If we look at the WRs he is set top to bottom. Diggs, Allen, McLaurin, Chase, Cooks, Mooney, Elijah Moore, and Michael Pittman Jr. Wow, what a group of guys. He has a handful of average RBs. He has Miles Sanders, Devin Singletary, Kareem Hunt, Chris Carson, and the unknown of Travis Etienne. We will have to see how the draft falls to JD3, but it will be tough with having to take the 25th best player. JD3 just needs to take the highest drafted player and hope it works out. JD3 needs to trade some guys to get another top end player.
Well that does it for the roster review. Teams have some stuff to work on. As the draft nears and free agency wraps up I would expect a trade or two. The next you will hear from me will be a Day 1 Mock Draft followed by a day 1 results. After that we will get into our top 64 rookies and top 5 free agents. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.
Let’s Go!
