Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Preview. We are not messing around. We are diving right into our Game of the Week, matchups, and Dr. Tilt. Let’s get it and look at a Game of the Week between two people that absolutely cannot stand each other.

Game of the Week

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Not every day do you get a matchup between the person who thinks they run things and the person who actually does. This week we have exactly that. Mush takes on JD3 for a battle of the ages. Mush has gone on and on about how the Broncos backfield’s backup Mel Gordon is better than JD3’s best guy. Here we are in Week 3 and Melvin Gordon is on the bench for the second week in a row. Not a great look. Mush needs Wentz to come from behind again to compete with JD3’s Mahomes. At RB we have Clyde, Javonte, and Darrell Hendy going against Miles Sanders and Kareem Hunt. The WR matchup is Mike Williams, Hollywood Brown, Diontae Johnson, Deebo, and Corey Davis (what, Corey Davis? Really?) versus Diggs, McLaurin, Pittman, Chase, Allen, and Cooks. As of right now we have a little head to head between Allen (in JD3 flex because of the 3:05 kickoff) and Mike Will (in Mush WR spot and Corey Davis with a noon kickoff is in the flex???). We also have a little cross connection with Wentz and McLaurin. Mush could use a little help and is not finding it from J.K. Dobbins who is still yet to suit up for a game. JD3 is a 14 point favorite as of now.

v.

CrossFit v. Batman

CrossFit is starting to warm up and has room for improvement. Brady, CMC, and Ekeler have all had slower than usual starts. Saquon looks better than ever.  Amari Cooper, Locket, and Robbie Anderson are ok, but a little too streaky for one’s liking. Amon-Ra St. Brown might be a stud, he might even be untouchable. Kelce is also a solid play for CrossFit. There is not a whole lot to talk about positively for Batman. He has Lamar and D’Andre Swift. CrossFit is a 30 point favorite and I think CrossFit gets the shutout.

v.

Bruce v. Teach

This looks to be a good matchup. Neither QB has lived up to their potential. Bruce with Joey B and Teach with Rodgers. This week we see “who is the real RB of Dallas” with Bruce having Zeke and Teach having Pollard. Bruce also adds Najee Harris, Fournette, and JT to go against Teach’s Mixon and Rhamondre Stevenson. At WR Bruce is starting D.J. Moore former student of Teach. Bruce also has Renfrow, Bateman, and Chark. Teach has his two top of the class WRs in Jalen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. Rounding out the WR room is K.J. Osborn in a revenge game and Treylon Burks. This one is neck and neck, I’ll take Teach to stay undefeated.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. PeePaw

I’ll start off the top with PeePaw being a 20 point favorite and my pick. D.W. has Hurts, Kamara, Robinson, Piece, Metcalf, Jeudy, Claypool, and Gabe Davis. PeePaw has Herbert, Cook, Monty, Jeff Wil, Lamb, Aiyuk, Jefferson, and Adams. PeePaw had a letdown week with minimal production from Adams, Jefferson, and Cook. It is likely that things will balance out and someone will have a ultra productive week. We might have a name change after this week from Daddy Wombat to Daddy Wowthingsgotoutofhandquickly.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Trashman

TDG needs one bad. Trashman needs to stay hot. TDG has the tall Josh Allen who has been great. Derrick Henry has not been. James Conner is good if he scores. Josh Jacobs has been a little under ok, not much, but not something you are happy with. Antonio Gibson has been solid, but when will his time run out? At WR TDG has Kupp, Thielen, Bob Woods, and mix in TE Kittle. TDG needs Kittle and Gallup to get on the field now. Trashman is relying on the run game. He has Aaron Jones and Nick Chubb. Follow those two with Cordarrelle Patterson and Rashaad Penny. T-Law is throwing to A-Rob, Juice, Curty Sam, and Christian Watson. We cannot forget about Mark Andrews, it is going to be a TE duel like we haven’t seen before. TDG is a 22 point favorite and I am going to pick him until I get it right.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Pistol

Neither team wants to be here. B.B. is the 11th team mentioned which matches his power rankings. A win here moves above Pistol. That does not mean B.B. will move up however. B.B. needs Tua to go off again. Christian Kirk and Drake London are a great pair of young WRs for B.B. The rest of his team needs to outperform to beat Pistol. Breece Hall, Chase Edmonds, Watkins, and Pickens, all of those guys need to produce. Pistol is hoping that happens. The problem is Pistol has a little too much firepower at times. Kyler, Michael Carter, Sutton, Lazard, A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson, and Broadway Bob. If the Packers score receiving TDs one of these two teams have a decent shot. Pistol also gets to see if Michael Carter still has the edge on Breece. Pistol is favored by 10, but I’m taking B.B. in the upset because who doesn’t love a good upset.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 3 Prescription

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings -5.5

Ahhh the darling Hard Knocks Detroit lions… 2-0 against the spread and kept it a hell of a lot closer than Primetime Kirk Cousins did against the Eagles.  This is a perfect time to go the other way.  Almost 70% of the bets and money are on the Lions to cover this week.  Minnesota has a great home field advantage (the Doc has been there in-person) and expects a big bounce back from the Purple People Eaters as Kirk throws it all over the field against Lions biggest weakness, their secondary.

Atlanta Falcons +2 @ Seattle Seahawks

This might be the worst game of the week.  At least the Texans vs Bears have two young quarterbacks and some fan bases lying to themselves.  It’s stinky all together but there’s value here on the Falcons.  They should have beaten the Saints and proved they can score with the Rams.  Seahawks won their Superbowl in week 1 against Russel Wilson and then showed their true selves last week against the 49ers.  The Doc is still fine writing off Geno Smith and prefers it if he continues to not write back.  It’ll be ugly but Atlanta wins outright.

Bengals -5.5 @ New York Jets

Since 2010, NFL teams that start the season 0-2 straight up and against the spread are 37-23 (62%) ATS in Week 3.  You’d think the Jets would be the team in this case but it’s the defending AFC champs.  It’s a “hungry dog runs faster”, “do or die”, etc. game for the Bengals to right the ship if they have real hopes for the 2022 season.  Mix that with the Jets miraculous comeback last week, expect 37 year old Joe Flacco to go back to being, 37 year old Joe Flacco.  The doc likes the Bengals big this week.

Dr. Tilt’s Record (2-4)

That does it for this week. It should be a fun one, see you Tuesday for the recap. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. Let’s have a day Dr. Tilt.

Let’s Go!
