Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Recap. A tail of two teams this weekend. Teams showed up and others put up nothing. We have people thinking about leaving the league they were so bad. I cannot blame those people, they absolutely stunk. We will talk about the Game of the week, the stinkers, the good ones, and Dr. Tilt. Let’s get it.

Game of the week.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. Trashman

D.W. does not recycle, they only take out the trash. Hurts is so good. Hurts put up a respectable 33 points. Dameon Pierce is everything you could have asked for in a rookie RB and somehow got 19 points for the Houston Texans?!?! Alvin Kamara is all the way back with 20. D.K. had 15 points but was outshined by Gabe Davis and his insane 31 points. Trashman never left the dump, missing 100 points on the weekend, in a game of the week, it’s almost inexcusable. Nick Chubb showed up with 25 and Mark Andrews added 19. Trashman also lost Rashaad Penny to a season ending injury. Trashman is going to have to find some answers here as we enter the bye weeks. D.W. Wins 158.55 to 96.1.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Batman

If you thought Trashman was bad this week, let me introduce you to Bottom Bunk and Batman. Bottom Bunk started the week by losing Tua, spending FAAB on Teddy2Gloves, when he could have picked up any other QB for $0, and then loses Teddy before he registers a point. That is the bad news. The good news for B.B. is that he has a monster in Breece Hall who had 27, Pickens added 11, and Goedert had 14. Conklin had 0, Bourne had 1, Edmonds had 0.1, but Justin Tucker had 16. All this ended up with B.B. having 84.7 points and a 13.6 lead going into Monday Night. Batman had Waller and Juju going Monday Night. Batman had 14 from DeVonta Smith, 13 from Olave, and 12 from Njoku. Batman saw 0 from Devante Parker, 3 from Zay Jones, 3 from A.J. Dillon, 2 from Damien Harris, and needed help from Juju and Waller. Juju and Waller combined for 5 due to Waller’s hammy taking him out of the game after like 6 plays (6 plays is more points than Juju). B.B. pulls it out barely 84.7 to 75.9. This may be the worst matchup in PCDL history.

v.

Pistol v. Teach

While this matchup was not worse, it was very bad. Pistol got 24 from Kyler, 16 from Michael Carter, 10 from Sutton, 12 from Lazard, and saw a combined 2 points from Khalil Herbert and Nyheim Hines. Pistol did have Kenneth Walker and 15 points on the bench, the Seahawks new RB1 with Penny done for the year. Teach stunk out loud. Rodgers had 26, Mixon had 10, Stevenson had 19, Pollard had 15, Marvin Jones added 14, but he had Hockenson with 1 and Tee Higgins had 0. Looking at these numbers it shows Teach had just a couple more guys, and that’s all it took. Teach wins a nail bitter 109.5 to 87.8.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Mush’s Mongrels

This was only a good matchup due to how bad Mush’s team is, some say. TDG rolling with the tall Josh Allen putting up 49. If Allen was allowed to throw in the second half this would have been ugly. D-Henry had 26, Evans had 10, and Kupp with 22. Big names got big points. Mush again may have a bad team. However, some of these bad players had big weeks. Mel had 12, Mike Will had 18, Deebo had 10, and Hollywood added 18. In a pinch, Mush went with Taysom Hill. Taysom had 39 points. TDG was down about 5 points heading into Monday night with Josh Jacobs going head-to-head with Clyde Frog and the Raiders kicker. Jacobs added 28 and the Mush duo added 21, with the majority coming from the kicker. TDG pulled it out 166.7 to 164.81. In a week where Taysom won a lot of matchups, Mush suffers a close loss despite having a top half point total.

v.

CrossFit v. Bruce

This one got out of hand. CrossFit was that dude this week and lead dog. Brady had 29, CMC 20, Ekeler with 34, Mostert with 19, Barkley with 18, Lockett with 25, Duvernay with 11. The bad was St. Brown and 4. Also, 17 kicker points doesn’t hurt. Bruce had 24 from Burrow, 31 from Fournette, 12 from some guy named Reynolds, and 10 from Evan Engram. Bruce saw Ezekiel Elliot outscore Najee Harris 8 to 5. Yikes. CrossFit entered the night with a chance at top score all-time in PCDL History, CrossFit had Travis Kelce on Monday night and my goodness did he go off. Kelce added 30. CrossFit wins 214.15 to 126.95. CrossFit reestablished himself as a force in the league and sets a new PR.

v.

PeePaw v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

“This should be a great matchup and arguably should be the game of the week” were a bad choice of words for the preview. Dalvin won his matchup 25 to Hunts 13, Jeff Will won his matchup 20 to Sings 5, Monty won his matchup 16 to Sanders 7. Justin Jefferson edged out Diggs 25 to 20. I guess McLaurin with 10, Chase with 9, and Pittman with 8 won matchups of Lamb with 8, Westbrook-Ikhine with 8, and Aiyuk with 7. Not a lot of cushion there. Gerald Everett stunk, in part due to Herbert’s down week, Big Ev only got 1. PeePaw had Adams, so we will put him head to head with Brandin Cooks, Adams had 26 and Cooks had 4. PeePaw gets a big division win 171.95 to 127.9. JD3 like Mush, top half in points but takes the L. That will be the only time we compare JD3, who is above .500, to Mush who is not.
