Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Wildcard Weekend. We have teams going at it for a chance at some hardware and others for a chance for some picks. Reminder that teams 7-12 compete in the Consolation Bracket for a compensatory pick in rounds 1-4 of the rookie draft. Consolation Champion gets pick 13, Consolation Runner Up gets pick 26, Consolation Third Place gets pick 39, and the odd man out gets pick 52. We run through our matchups, pat the teams with byes on the back, and take a look at Dr. Tilt.

Playoffs

v.

#3 CrossFit v. #6 Bruce
Bruce limped into the playoffs and I expect CrossFit to send him straight to the hospital. CrossFit is the leagues lead dog bye a 100 points and we have a couple heavy hitters. CrossFit has 400 more points than Bruce on the season. CrossFit has three of this year’s top backs in CMC, Barkley, and Ekeler. He also has a top TE in Kelce. He has sneaky WRs in Amari Cooper, Lockett, and St. Brown. CrossFit’s biggest concern has been and always will be QB. Tom Brady is officially out of the mix but CrossFit is siding with Fields over Dak Prescott. Fields faces the Philly defense that has been incredible, while Dak faces the Jags who have been in recent shootouts. Let’s hope this doesn’t cost CrossFit his PR in the league. Bruce has a bunch of old RBs in Zeke and Fournette, paired with two underperforming youths in JT and Najee. The backs are heating up at the right time. Joe Burrow has been a game winner at times this year and Bruce will need that type of performance this week. His WRs are not great. Godwin is on a low scoring Bucs offense, and Bruce already has Fournette, so it’s not like he’s going to see a ton of points from those two. D.J. Moore is hurt and on a low scoring offense. Darius Slayton is ok. You need firepower when you face CrossFit and Joe Burrow will ultimately decide if Bruce even has a chance. CrossFit is a 23 point favorite and should get it done this weekend. If CrossFit wins he faces JD3 and if Bruce wins he faces Teach.

v.

#4 Touchdown Guy v. #5 PeePaw
PeePaw is on the road to face TDG. These two just had a matchup that TDG won by 22 points. PeePaw is a 12 point favorite this week. Herbert v. Allen, Cook v. Henry, Monty v. Jacobs, Foreman v. B-Rob, Gus Bus v. Conner, Adams v. Evans, Jefferson v. Theilen, Lamb v. Gallup, Aiyuk v. Taysom. It will be another barn burner between these two. TDG needs Theilen and Gallup to have great games to stay in the mix on this one. TDG can also settle for a big game from either Jacobs or Henry. PeePaw is hoping to rely on Adams, Jefferson, and Lamb to get it done. Those head to head matchups will be the turning point in this matchup. This is a rematch of the first ever championship in PCDL history. Put your feet up and enjoy the show this weekend. I will let these two settle it and will not make a pick. Most likely either team will play Teach, but if a miracle happens and Bruce wins then the winner faces JD3.
Byes

#1 Teach
Teach rode the Phins trio of Tua/Hill/Waddle to an early season lead and never looked back. His team has wavered recently and a bye week is exactly what this team needs to get back on track. Scoring under 110 points last week is not the confidence booster you want heading into the playoffs. But Teach is here and he’s hoping to stay. Teach will face his toughest competition having had the easiest schedule out of all playoff teams by a wide margin. Consider Teach a NFC South type team.

#2 Jonny DIII’s Joyful Demons
JD3 was lucky enough to come out on top in an absolutely stacked division. Mahomes, Diggs, and Chase were all big contributing factors. JD3 needs D-Hop to be hyper targeted throughout the playoffs to make the trade all worth it. JD3 will likely play in the “championship game” next week when he faces CrossFit, which will be a matchup between the leagues two highest scorers.
Consolation Bracket

v.

#9 Batman v. #12 Bottom Bunk
Batman has a dilemma on his hands. He has both QBs for Baltimore. The odds are that Huntley starts. But it is a 3:30 p.m. Saturday start time, you have to be on your toes to make that switch. Batman has Olave, Smith, and Juju. Batman has Swift at RB. B.B. might see a little more out of Deshaun Watson this week, I think Watson starts to heat up a little bit. That is about all B.B. has going for him. He has both Williams in the Detroit matchup, problem is they go against the dominant Jets defense. B.B. has a bunch of nobodies on his team. Batman should get the win here as the 23 point favorite.

v.

#10 Pistol v. #11 Daddy Wombat
This is a very important matchup, hopefully D.W. sets their lineup. Pistol has the best player in A.J. Brown and D.W. has the QB to get him the ball in Hurts. Pistol has Garrett Wilson, Lazard, and Sutton. D.W. has Metcalf, Jeudy, and Kamara. This will be a tight matchup with a lot on the line. These teams have the star power to get a couple wins to enhance their draft capital. I am going to give the edge to Pistol as he is the most likely to set his lineup and should be a 4 point favorite come kickoff.
Consolation Byes
#7 Mush’s Mongrels

Mush came up just short. Cylde, Mel, D-Hendy, Deebo, OBJ, and no real QB are all reasons why Mush is in this spot. On the outside looking in. The good news is that he has a bye and Kenny Walker. Kenny needs the bye week to get healthy. Jerick McKinnon has been hot, J.K. is getting back into shape, Hollywood is back, and Mike Will is healthy. Everything is looking up for Mush. He doesn’t have a first this year, he could use the late first from winning this bracket.

#8 Trashman
Trashman has two good backs, Chubb and Jones. Mix in Cordarrelle and Cam Akers he has some options. Mark Andrews has been great. The issues come at QB with T-Law coming on too late in the year. Christian Watson is the only option that Trashman has. Curty Sam and A-Rob have been let downs.

Dr. Tilt’s 15 Prescription
Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills (o42)
Tua said he threw in the snow in Maryland in the offseason when he visited his brother. That’s good enough for the Doc. The first matchup of this game the total sat at 56.5. Expect these offenses to unclog. Have an extra eggnog for this Saturday Night Primetime game and root for points.
Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
Both of these teams QB situations are a mess for different reasons. Probably no Lamar or Huntley? Deshaun has to play better right? If the doc is wrong on his pick, karma wins, and the doc can live with that.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (u44)
These teams are a combined 19-7 this season to the under and somehow Tampa Bay’s offense keeps getting worse. Ugly under game incoming.
***Bonus Pick***
For the Dr. Tilt veterans you know how this works. When the doc goes 3-0 the week before YOU get a bonus pick.
New York Giants @ Washington Commanders (u40.5)
The doc gave you the under of 41 in this exact matchup two weeks ago. Both teams even got an extra 10 minutes of football and it still went under (miraculously). Don’t fix what isn’t broken, we ride again! Both these teams are 17-9 to the under this season.
Last Week: 3-0
Season: 24-20
That does it for this week. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. I hope you all have healthy rosters going into the playoffs. Limping into the playoffs is no fun and leaving without a good lineup is tough. Good luck and go get ‘em.
Let’s Go!
