Pot Cakes Dynasty League Wildcard Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Wildcard Weekend Recap. What a weekend. Let’s just get right into it. We have our matchups and Dr. Tilt. See how we ended up and who is moving on.

Playoffs

v.

#3 CrossFit v. #6 Bruce

This one came down to the wire on Sunday night. Bruce had a 7 point lead heading into Sunday night, but first let’s see how they got there. Thursday Night CrossFit put on a show with CMC and Tyler pop drop and Lockett with a combined 33 points. The problem is that Lockett popped his finger and will lock himself out of next weeks lineup *IF CrossFit is to move on. Bruce then got things rolling with Zeke and Najee combining for 29 points. The QBs also did not disappoint, Bruce’s Joey B got 38 and CrossFit’s Fields put up 31. CrossFit took advantage of the injury to Jeff Willy and started Raheem the Dream Mostert who added 17 points. Bruce saw a big week out of D.J. Moore and he needed it, D.J. put up a sweet 16. Chris Godwin also helped Bruce with 18 and Evan Engram got into the double digits with 10. CrossFit added Ekeler with 14, St. Brown with 12, and Kelce with 16. Bruce’s Jonathan Taylor put up 2 points and was an early injury exit. CrossFit’s Pat Freiermuth was not targeted on Sunday and provided a goose egg. This sets up Sunday Night, Bruce’s Darius Slayton v. CrossFit’s Saquon with Saquon down 7. Saquon put up 21 and Darius hit 5. CrossFit wins 153.32 to 144.7. Bruce now has the 7th pick of the draft and hopefully he uses this pick on a drafted player.

#4 Touchdown Guy v. #5 PeePaw

This was supposed to be the big matchup of the weekend. It was a huge disappointment. Things started off bad for PeePaw and only got worse. George Kittle for TDG opened Thursday night with 23 points. Aiyuk had 3 for PeePaw. That is not the start you want. Saturday Night TDG poured it on with 49 points from the Tall Josh Allen. But mid-Saturday PeePaw closed some of the gap having Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook combine for 49 points. Monty added 23 and CeeDee had 16. The problems were Herbert and Adams. I can forgive Foreman and Edwards being bad as one of them would have been out if Jeff Will was healthy. Adams had 5 points and Herbert had 15. The QBs usually win the week and the let down from Herbert really cost PeePaw. TDG had steady performances throughout. D-Train had 24, Jacobs 12, Conner 17, Thielen grabbed a TD to get 12, Evans had 11, and B-Rob was robbed of a late score because the refs wanted to be in the spotlight, B-Rob had 11, and TDG will be in the spotlight as he takes on Teach next week. TDG wins 169.1 to 124.25.

Byes

#1 Teach

Will face TDG in a little rematch. It is tough to beat a team twice.

#2 Jonny DIII’s Joyful Demons

JD3 faces CrossFit in a battle of the top two scoring teams. This is, in the mind of many, the championship game.

Consolation Bracket

v.

#9 Batman v. #12 Bottom Bunk

Batman loves chalk and he was thrilled with his team’s chalk performance. Zay Jones had 32, Juju added 12, Devonta Smith had 15, DeAndre Swift added 10. This is written up before Monday Night’s game and is the consolation bracket so who cares how A.J. Dillon and Van Jefferson did, this one is over. (This is funny because A.J. Dillon had 21 points, but I am committed to the bit) Batman needs to address the QB situation as Huntley had 8 points. Bottom Bunk saw his only (assuming Ben Skowronek does not score double digit points Monday Night) double digit performer from the QB position with 18. That is a low number for QBs but it was also his only positional win on the week. B.B. is on the clock and eyeing up the Texas Longhorns’ RB. Batman moves on to face Trashman next week and guarantees himself an extra pick. Batman wins 130 to 49.85. What an embarrassment Bottom Bunk is.

v.

#10 Pistol v. #11 Daddy Wombat

With a guy like Pistol you would expect a shootout. We did not get that. Pistol did see 14 from Marlon Mack, 23 from A.J. Brown, 12 from Garrett Wilson, and 11 from Nyheim Hines. Daddy Wombat saw all of his scoring from Jalen Hurts with 40. Kamara and Jeudy added 11 a piece but the rest of the team was a letdown. It came down to needing a big performance from 101.65 Higbee. D.W. saw Higbee’s first TD of the year and got 11. D.W. moves on to face Mush 101.65 to 99.39.

Consolation Byes

#7 Mush’s Mongrels

Mush faces Daddy Wombat who just lost Hurts. Mush has had an easy schedule all-year but somehow has lost a lot of games. We will see if Mush strategically set himself up for a first round pick.

#8 Trashman

Trashman gets Batman. This head to head will be interesting, a win here could add the missing piece these teams need.

Week 15: 3-1

Season: 27-21

What a weekend. A lot of heartbreaking fantasy finishes. Aaron Jones missing the endzone, the ref costing B-Rob a tud, McKinnon going off, Zay Jones, Evan Engram, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and Miles Sanders. All are things you hate to see. Hopefully, you made it to the next round and have a healthy squad. Until next time I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. We will follow up with tomorrow and our Divisional Championship Round (spoiler, neither team is playing a team in their division).

Let’s Go!
