Pot Cakes Dynasty League Divisional Championship Round Recap

Good morning everyone, Welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Divisional Championship Round Recap. We have our title games set. Things are heating up. Trade rumors are even buzzing. Dr. Tilt is ahhhhh, well let’s find out. Let’s take a peak at who we will be talking about tomorrow.

#1 Teach v. #4 Touchdown Guy

A couple of heavy hitters put on a show that ended on Sunday night. These two teams are known to put up points, while they did and didn’t the matchup did not disappoint. TDG took a lead, Teach caught up, but could TDG close the gap? This game was a slow burn to start, TDG saw 30 from the Tall Josh Allen and a combined 6 points from Thielen and Jacobs. The Raiders being a dumpster fire hurt TDG. Things picked up for Teach seeing 36 from the combo of Mixon and Higgins. TDG saw a solid 18 from D-Train. TDG mixed in 12 from Taysum and 27 from Kittle. While that TE production was great, T.J. Hockenson was greater, he had 29. Teach still had the Phins trio in his back pocket for the Sunday slate. Tua got his guys Hill and Waddle a combined 35 points early, but fizzled off in the second half to only have 17 himself. TDG saw himself in a big hole Sunday night with Mike Evans and James Conner to go. TDG needed two big performances, he only got one. James Conner put us 22. Teach moves on 139.7 to 130.7. This is a tough loss for TDG considering the “winning” point total is about 126-127 points on average for the season. TDG put up a winning week but Teach took him to school. TDG now will now Nick Cage/John Travolta for the third place game.

#2 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. CrossFit

While the seeding has JD3 as the favorite, it is worth mentioning that CrossFit was the league’s leader in points. This matchup would be impossible for anyone to try and take down that type of firepower. CrossFit was without Locket, Marquise Goodwin put up 0, and Fields had an off week with 15. None of that matters. CMC had 13, Saquon had 23, Ekeler had 22, Cooper 10, St. Brown 11, Kelce 14, and Pat Freier-JonnyDIIIintothesun-muth had 10 points. JD3 needed boom weeks from guys that have worse accuracy than I do punctuation. Pittman had Foles and Hopkins had McSorely, they combined for 7 points. Gerald Everett had 0 targets. Miles Sanders is uninvolved in the offense for some reason. Diggs had bad weather. JD3 saw production from Mahomes with 32, Etienne with 13, Keenan and McLaurin had 16 a piece, and 10 from Chase. None of those weeks scream boom. Although it is worth noting that McLaurin had a nice week and will probably finish the season as a high WR2, which is better than WRs on some team’s rosters. CrossFit ran away with this one and was the lead dog 140.71 to 103.8. CrossFit is onto the Championship. No team with a bye has ever won the Championship. In the history of the PCDL 50% of all champions have been the 3-seed. The odds and league are behind CrossFit on this one. JD3 will enter the 3rd place game following his second worst finish on the year and only his second time being under that “week winning” point total, what a week to do it.

#7 Mush’s Mongrels v. #11 Daddy Wombat

Following up one underperformance we sorta match. Mush was not known to score a lot of points this entire season and is probably the poster child for “worst first round dynasty startup draft picks” of all-time. That is a mouthful and probably not something that is worth making a poster for, although Mush does have a good mug to look at (way to mix in one compliment (pats self on back)). Mush had an advantage here by not enforcing league rules and causing D.W.’s lineup to freeze due to an IR violation. While other commissioners may have allowed a roster change, Mush was out for blood. Too bad it was his own. Kenny Walker had 12, McKinnon and Knox had 11 a piece and Mike Will made it 10 points. Geno the bambino Smith swung and missed putting up 19 points. Daddy Wombat was a man down. Hand down man down, D.W. played incredible defense. He held Mush to a very low point total. D.W. saw a monster Tight End Week having Tyler 2-tud Higbee put up 26 points. Kamara added 18, Metcalf had 12, and Gabe Davis had 10. The combo of Russ and Jeudy worked? Russ had 14 and Jeudy had 15. It was just enough as D.W. advances to the Consolation Championship 109.88 to 100.35.

v.

#8 Trashman v. #9 Batman

You could make the argument that Trashman had the bigger names while Batman has the more balanced team. Trashman saw an ok performance from T-Law with 23. Batman rolled Huntley again and saw 17. The Green Bay backfield sided with Batman giving A.J. Dillon the score and 12 points to Trashman and Aaron Jones with 4. In the battle of the chubs, Chuba Hubbard put up 13 points to Nick Chubb’s 11. Another advantage Batman. The lopsided affair was D’Andre Swift’s 3 points for Batman and Isaiah Pacheco’s 10 for Trashman. The tight ends were big names but were not worth naming this week due to their let down performances. We move on to the WRs and the thing that sealed the deal for one of these two teams. Richie James led the way for Trashman with 14. Batman saw 17 from Jakobi Meyers. Batman had one more trick up his sleeve and DeVonta Smith put up a monster 27 point performance. Batman wins 108.15 to 100.61. Batman will face off against D.W. for the chance at the 13th pick.
