Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Preview. Only two teams matter this week even though we will talk about some other teams. Teach and CrossFit compete for the Pot Cakes Dynasty League trophy. The most coveted trophy in all of fantasy football. So coveted that no one has had the honor to lay their eyes on it. We are in year 3 mind you. We have the Championship, 3rd Place, Consolation Championship, Consolation 3rd Place, and Dr. Tilt to cover, so let’s get down to it.

Championship Game

v.

#1 Teach v. #3 CrossFit

I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say I am not shocked CrossFit made it this far. He had an absolute cake walk division and has 3 elite RBs. CrossFit has the RB1, 4, and 5. I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say Teach? YOU KIDDING ME? Teach was an early season playoff hopefully but turned into a dominant force. The Trio of Phins got him through the tough times but now he’s up against it. CrossFit’s dummy thick RB depth will certainly provide him a safe floor. CrossFit is up to his old tricks and is using the safety racks by benching Fields and going Dak. Fields just came off a bad week and Dak looked great. Hopefully CrossFit isn’t chasing points here. The WR room is a little concerning. Amari Cooper and St. Brown are both solid. The issue is that Tyler Lockett is questionable. No Lockett could be bad news. The tight ends are chalked up to have big weeks. Travis Kelce and Pat Freiermuth are coming off hot weeks and should help CrossFit here. Teach, oh where art thou Teach. Doth start Aaron Rodgers and Romeo Doubs to get A Tale of Two Cities action? Will the Hill and Waddle magic Twilight into an epic collapse do to Tua’s The Lovely Bones crushing hits causing him to be out this week? Can Rhamondre chew up yards like The Very Hungry Caterpillar that he is? Can Tony Pollard gobble up all the Cowboys carries like Hannibal? Can Tee Higgins strike silently and swiftly like The Shadow of the Wind? Can T.J. Hockenson run Fifty Shades Freed or will the Packers secondary cause his production to be Fifty Shades Darker? Will all these questions have to wait to be answered by Joe Mixon on Monday Night like The Da Vinci Code? These are all book titles that I worked in, credit to me for now making the championship game a little bit about me. As we live and breathe CrossFit is a 12 point favorite. The Lockett injury may settle things down as we get closer to kickoff. I will let these two settle their score on the ice, but I would not be surprised if we have a substitute #1 come next week.

3rd Place Game

v.

#2 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Touchdown Guy

Two former champions battling it out for 3rd place. This game is beneath both managers but they’ll do it for the fans. The problem is that some of their star players might not care about the fans. Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans have no benefit from this week 17 game. The only benefit they have is to lose to get a better draft pick if they do end up losing in Week 18. A win here can only hurt. My (big ole) gut tells me that D-Train will be stationed on the sidelines this weekend. As for JD3, it is less likely, but still a possibility that Travis Etienne could sit out. The Jags are in a different situation as they can win and then lose and still make the wildcard somehow. I’m not a computer, I just type on one, they would need the Phins to lose out and I think catch a couple other breaks for that to happen. Their best bet is to go all in on Week 18 because if you get to the Wildcard hello Buffalo or KC. Not great. We know these two teams are star studded. JD3 has Mahomes, Sanders, Etienne, Diggs, McLauren, Allen, Chase, and D-Hop. TDG has the Tall Josh Allen, Jacobs, Conner, Brian Robinson, Evans, and Kittle. JD3 has better WRs, TDG has better RBs and TE. It all comes down to how big their booms are and if the QBs can match. This is the same ole song and dance but it takes two to tango and one of these teams is going to cha-cha slide into a congratulatory handshake for taking 3rd place.

Consolation Championship

v.

#9 Batman v. #11 Daddy Wombat

There is a lot on the line for this one. The winner gets pick 13 of the rookie draft and the loser gets pick 26. Batman fought hard to get here. D.W. just sort of stumbled into a couple of wins. Either way it all comes down to this. Russ or Hurts and Huntley or Lamar are the starting QBs this weekend. If either team catches a break that is the team that will win the week. D.W. has Kamara, Metcalf, Jeudy, Gabe Davis, and Tyler Higbee. Batman has A.J. Dillon, a Tiffany I think were alone now Lions running back in D’Andre Swift, Zay Jones, Juju, Jakobi, and DeVonta Smith (Darren Waller too but that guy stunk for me last week so I’m bitter about it).  It will be a low scoring tight matchup. Batman is a 7 point favorite, but like I said, if someone gets the better QB, they will win.

Consolation 3rd Place

v.

#7 Mush’s Mongrels v. #8 Trashman

What an absolute dumpster fire these two teams put up last week. Both of these teams had a chance to make the offs going into the last week of the regular season. Now they are fighting over the 39th and 52nd pick in the rookie draft. I mean yikes. Mush had Tua in hand. Tua could have saved his season. He got Kenny Walker, couldn’t save his season. Couldn’t trade Deebo to save his future. Has Darrell Henderson on his bench who has no future. I mean the future is just that. The future. Mush lives in the present and is all about those mid round steals. There is no manager that I trust more to make an absolute lock at pick 39 than Mush, so let’s see how he can do it. Geno, James Cook, Kenny Walks, J.K., Mike Will, Dionte, Kirk, and McKinnon. If those names don’t give you a lot of confidence, I don’t know how I can sell it to ya. Trashman “sets” a roster but I mean what are we doing? Amari Rodgers is in his lineup when Tyler Allgeier, the best pick in the rookie draft, is on his taxi as is Cam Akers. Terrace Marshall? Tyquan Thornton? Curty Sam is on the bench? Trashman needs to pick two guys to take off his starting lineup and mix in Allgeier and Curtis. Mush is a 1 point favorite, but if anyone else but Trashman set his lineup Trashman would be favored by 8. I’ll pick this one. I’ll take Trashman assuming he can fix his lineup and his Packers in Aaron Jones and Christian Watson are healthy to go.
