Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Recap

Good morning everyone, the Pot Cakes Dynasty League’s 3rd season has concluded. We have the ‘ship, 3rd place, 13th pick, 39th pick and Dr. Tilt. The fantasy football week ended with the injury to Damar Hamlin. Damar suffered a cardiac arrest that resulted in the Bills and Bengals stopping the Monday night game. This injury shocked everyone. Donations to Damar’s toy drive have now reached over $6 million. Damar remains in critical condition and in intensive care. From what the reports are saying, Damar’s health is improving. That is all we know and there are way more qualified people that you should get your information from than me. We are lucky to get to play this made up game while watching these superstar humans play a game we all use to play at some level. It would be incredibly selfish for us to gripe about the Week 17 fantasy finish. We won’t. All teams decided to concede their respective matchups. It helps that the outcomes of most games were all but decided. Either way, one man’s life is way more important than this little game we play. With that, we will continue to think and pray for Damar Hamlin in his recovery. We will take a look at our championship week.

Championship Game

v.

#1 Teach v. #3 CrossFit

Teach had a gravy schedule all year. Teach found himself in the biggest game of his career during a time schools are closed and people are going to the gym. This is a bad omen for Teach to begin. Teach had to go without Tua. Aaron Rodgers had a solid performance for Rodgers this season. Rhomandre Stevenson, Latavius Murray, Jaylen Waddle, Romeo Doubs, T.J. Hockenson all were disappointments scoring under 10 points a piece. This was the championship game. Teach did not see extra credit from many students. K.J. Osborn had 15 and Tyreek Hill had 14. CrossFit picked a good week to hit some good numbers. CrossFit saw Tom Brady PR on his bench with 51 points. CrossFit hates picking the right QB. Fields was 31 shy of Tom Brady’s mark. The good news is CrossFit has good RBs. CMC had 28,  Mostert had 22, and Ekeler had 30. Saquon was a let down this week only having 6 points. The WR room was not great as well. Lockett had 3, St. Brown had 8 and Kelce only had 8. The good news is that Amari Cooper went off for 24 points. The highs were high for CrossFit. Teach did not see top marks from any of his players. Teach goes home empty handed. CrossFit is the new champion of the league 162.21 to 93.65. Teach did have Mixon and Higgins, but this lead was insurmountable.

3rd Place Game

v.

#2 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. #3 Touchdown Guy

Fantasy Football is funny. JD3 was the favorite going in and everything looked like JD3 should win unless someone had the best week of their life. Well, guess what, former JD3 player Mike Evans did just that. Mike Evans put up 44 points. The rest doesn’t really matter, but we will talk through it. JD3 saw 37 from Mahomes, 22 from Etienne and 13 from Pittman. Let down again from Sanders with 6, Cooks with 6 and McLaurin with 5. So again, TDG saw 44 from Mike Evans. Taysum added 13 and Kittle had 10, Conner had 13 and Jacobs had 18. JD3 and TDG had Monday night players but it was not important. TDG had a safe lead and wins 132.45 to 114.4. TDG takes home 3rd place.

Consolation Championship

v.

#9 Batman v. #11 Daddy Wombat

Batman finally saw the big week from D’Andre Swift. Swift had 28. A.J. Dillon had 10. DeVonta Smith had 16. Everything else was pretty quiet. The good news is that Batman only needed a little bit of noise to get the win. D.W. had Russ put up 30. That was it for double digits. Batman gets pick 13 and has the chance to turn his franchise around. D.W. gets pick 26 and will have a chance to help his roster going forward. Batman wins 111.3 to 72.8.

Consolation 3rd Place

v.

#7 Mush’s Mongrels v. #8 Trashman

This one was a tight game. Trashman saw 12 a piece from Chubb, Jones, and Pacheco. Richie James had another day with 17. Thornton put up 14 in a surprise Pats win. T-Law made this a game by only scoring 8 points. Mush saw 15 from Ken Walker, 13 from Mike Will, and 20 from Jerrick McKinnon. Trashman wins 109.8 to 99.15. With the Monday night game stopped, Mush made the decision to concede and is a good man for it. Thank you for a great year Commissioner Mush, a new winner, wow.
