Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 13 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 13 Preview. We are right in the thick of things with Playoffs right around the corner. We have a crucial GOTW, matchups, Professor Pickum and an all-new power rankings. Let’s just dive on in.

Game of the week.

v.

Batman v. PeePaw

Both teams fresh off a loss and a playoff spot is on the line. This matchup is hot hot hot. Well, it could have been. They bye week bug is in full effect and Batman has been bit. In a must win game, Batman has to go with Derek Carr as his QB instead of Lamar who is on bye. This late bye will likely result in Batman having a bye in the consolation bracket. Batman also has multiple players with the questionable tag, A.J. Dillon, Swift, Hollywood and DeVonta Smith. Batman also has Olave and Achane on his bench, both have a questionable tag as well. BUT, Batman does have Kyren Williams who hopefully saved some points for this week because he will be needed. PeePaw is missing guys too, but he’s old school so he won’t make any excuses. Herb, Monty, Charbonnet, Warren, Lamb, Aiyuk and Ridley make up his team. PeePaw wins and is in, it’s really that simple, the points are heavily in his favor for the tie breaker. PeePaw is a 14 point favorite, that may shrink to about 8 or so if Batman does some roster reconstruction. I think PeePaw gets it done, there’s just no way he goes on a losing streak similar to what he did to start the year.

v.

Teach v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

This game is the big one, not GOTW worthy because JD3 is already in the offs and already has a bye. But JD3 can try to hold Teach out and get a little closer to the #1 seed. Teach can win and get in (not technically, but the points tie breaker are in his favor if the wheels fall off). Teach has Tua/Hill/Waddle. Teach has Mixon, B-Rob, Pollard, Stevenson, and Kirk. That’s a pretty solid team. Teach also won this matchup and is one of JD3’s two losses on the year. JD3 loves some revenge. Mahomes, Sing, Etienne, Allen, McLaurin, D-Hop, Chase, Collins and Pittman. This team has won over and over again, one more should be the icing on the top. JD3 wants this one bad. JD3 is a 2 point favorite, this will be a must watch matchup.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. CrossFit

Mush has had a lot of bye week concerns all year. His one highlight is that his former 1st round pick in Clyde Edwards-Helaire is back in his lineup. CrossFit needs this win and a JD3 loss to really put the pressure on for the #1 seed. CrossFit’s highlights are Dak, CMC, St. Brown and Kelce. CrossFit is a 100 point favorite, I think he wins by only 95.

v.

Bruce v. Trashman

Bruce is a coward, Trashman is still in the mix (barely). Trashman has to win out, plus points of at least 100. I don’t think both happen this week, but a win is on the horizon for Trashman to keep his dreams out of the dumps. Trashman gets to put Zack Moss back in the lineup this week and ride him to victory.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Daddy Wombat

This is actually going to be a good matchup if D.W. sets his lineup. TDG is without the tall Josh Allen, Stafford is in. D-Train, Conner, Thielen, Evans, Godwin, Kupp, Nacua and Kittle. That triple Rams stack could help or hurt TDG as they take on a bad Browns offense but good Browns defense. Should be a lot of opportunities, but will they need to press the ball down the field once they grab a lead? D.W. needs to put Kamara and Downs into the lineup. Hurts, Metcalf and Tank Dell make up the remaining stars on his team. This should be a 5 point projection favoring TDG, I think TDG gets it done and some of the guys on D.W. fall way short of expectations. TDG just needs to get right for the offs.

v.

Pistol v. Bottom Bunk

B.B. is still alive, but not after this week. Pistol has Stroud, Gibbs, Javonte, Sutton, G-Will and A.J. Brown. B.B. has Bijan and Breece. This will be a one sided affair where Pistol wins by 20-30 points. Pistol will lock in a playoff spot after this week.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Good morning class, we have out 10th study guide for Professor Pickum.

The week after Thanksgiving. We’re fat (editor’s not, speak for yourself). We’re winning (editor’s note, speak for yourself). One of these probably needs to change but I hope it’s not the winning.

Seattle @ Dallas -8.5

Hypothesis

  • Primetime Unders are hitting at an alarming rate.
  • Dallas Def is very good
  • Geno is starting to show why he was written off
  • This one scares me cuz I could see Dallas scoring 40 and it’s not a short week… I just talked myself into taking Dallas -8.5?
  • Lock it in

San Francisco -2.5 @ Philadelphia

Hypothesis:

  • This is purely a “why is Philly getting 2.5 at home? Somebondy must know something” play
  • I’m either gonna look like a genius or an idiot band that’s my sweet spot

Detroit -4.5 @ New Orleans

Hypothesis:

  • I like the Lions to not only bounce back but get out some frustrations and run up the score

Professor Pickum is 19-10 overall.

Now for an all-new power rankings.

PeePaw is in a tight one this week and just has to move down because he’s not locked into Playoffs. That’s it, nothing against PeePaw, I’m sure a lot of teams want PeePaw to lose and miss out on the playoffs, but this is based on record, fresh off a loss, don’t shoot the messenger.

That does it for this week. Hopefully you are locking in playoff spots. Until next time I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
