Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Preview. This is where things start to get interesting. This is really a breaking point for some teams. An 0-3 start, or dropping 3 in a row at any point, will derail a season. Three teams could fall into that camp. A 3-0 start doesn’t mean you’re in the clear, but odds are you’ll slip into a playoff spot. Only 1 team is promised a 3-0 start. There are some rumors circulating internally, nothing material enough to make the headlines, but stay tuned as the season develops. Let’s dive into our game of the week, matchups, Professor Pickum, and all new power rankings.
Game of the week.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Batman
This is the matchup everyone will be watching this week. Two unbeatens going at it. TDG has been bit with the injury bug HARD. Batman is coming off an easy win. Trap game? TDG would like to see a Week 1 Josh Allen, Week 2 Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs removing the injury designation, James Conner to terminate the opposition, Evans and Godwin to just combine for 30+, Ladd to score, Demarcus Robinson to hit his projection, Higgins to do something, and Kittle to be like Week 2. Batman would like for Lamar to have no stomach issues, James to Cook the competition, Achane to be the only person on the Dolphins to be fantasy relevant, Kyren to just do the Kyren thing, Dionte Johnson to get some touches from Dalton, DeVonta Smith to catch a TD, Olave to be a part of this high scoring Saints offense, Jakobi Meyers to do more than Ladd, Swift to score a touchdown in what seems to be a fortnight (T-Swift song title because I’m hip and cool), and for Trey McBride to put up Trey tuds. It should be a doozy of a fight. Both teams have a few minor concerns from making them a clear juggernaut. Only one will reign supreme. TDG is a 4 point favorite, but I think Batman gets it done this week. Call me crazy, but I’m going to take the younger RBs in this one.

v.

CrossFit v. PeePaw
CrossFit has the oldest roster (not fact checking this stat). PeePaw is the hottest team in the league (small sample size). This is a big week for both teams. CrossFit is going with Dak, Barkley, Rachaad White, Ekeler, Cooper, St. Brown, Lockett, Kelce, and Freiermuth. Barkley is the only name that really jumps out there. Someone who jumped out as a fantasy steal is Rasheed Shaheed. Currently the WR 1 on the year. Imagine having this guy on your team and giving him away. That’s tough to see. PeePaw is benching Justin Herbert for Derek Carr. PeePaw has Kamara, Monty, Charb, Lamb, Aiyuk, Rice, Jefferson, Schultz, and Davante Adams. I think Kamara has another big week, but the thing to watch will be how long does Carr go before he runs out of gas? In looking at the projections, Carr just needs to be in neutral as the rest of the team should carry PeePaw to victory. PeePaw is a 28 point favorite and I think he stays hot.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Mush’s Mongrels
We dialed up two juicy matchups above, and are now serving you with just utter filth. These two teams are rebuilding. One team is a little better situated than the other. That team happens to be Bottom Bunk. When Bottom Bunk is doing better than you, it is time to take a long look in the mirror. Mush will have plenty of time to do that on Sunday since he only has to worry about Mini Van Marv. B.B. has AR15, Breece, Bijan, Drake London, and Jameson Williams. However, if there was a week for Bottom Bunk to lose, it would be this one. B.B. is a 38 point favorite, and I think he gets it done.

v.

Teach v. Bruce
Teach just got his teeth kicked in. Bruce is undefeated. Bruce is a 2 point favorite. Teach did not put a waiver claim in for Derek Carr despite having more FAAB than any other team. That is a dumb dumb move. Geno is tossing the rock for Teach. Teach still has Tyreek and Waddle, and the sky is the limit for how little of fantasy production those two will have with Thompson at QB. Rhomandre looked good, Aaron Jones has been good, and Brock Bowers has been good. Those players will need to be great for Teach this weekend. Bruce has some guys. Burrow, JT, and Likely. Then he has some vets and young talent. Najee (runs like he’s old), Zeke (is old), D.J. Moore (is old news), Flowers (good), Nabers (good but QB), and Thomas (Jags bad) round out his team. While Bruce has done a lot of things wrong in this league to make him the least likable despite a great logo design, I still think he gets it done. Teach might crumble having gone all in on the Phins in fantasy.

v.

Pistol v. Trashman
I don’t think both managers will read this. I know one will, and that manager wins this week. Pistol has Kyler, Gibbs, Javonte, G-Wil, Reed, Pitts, and Kincaid. Nothing sexy about the team, but will grind it out. Trashman’s team is garbage. Jordan Mason is the only player that I will mention, and that is due to the CMC injury. The rest of his team is bad. Pistol is a 28 point favorite and wins this one even if he doesn’t hit 100 points.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Daddy Wombat
JD3 needs to make a mini run here. The Week 1 failure to hit 100 is still looming in the back of his mind. He’s not sure if his guys want it this year or not. D.W. has too many thoughts to count. One guy is thinking about dogs all the time. And that’s good, because D.W. is a 26 point dog this week. All dogs go to heaven and D.W. will need a miracle to get the win. JD3 still needs his guys to perform. Mahomes has been bad, Diggs not great, Chase not great, and the TE position is horrible. Singletary and Dobbins have been good, which is something only JD3 knew. Etienne can do more. Nico is pretty good at the sports. D.W. has Hurts, JSN, Tank Dell, Worthy, and Metcalf. D.W. will need his guys to go off to get the win this week, it will be interesting to see if that happens.
Professor Pickum is back. Following a 2-1 performance last week, the new Study Guide is in.

Week 3 Study Guide
Great bounce back. We were a half a point away from being perfect but, unlike the fish at Fish Village, we died on a hook.
This Week I have THREE Systems that I love:
- Week 3 Dogs
- In the last 90 Week 3 matchups in which there is a dog with a winless ATS record through the first two weeks, that dog covers the spread 61% of the time.
- Public Fade after Abysmal Loss
- In the last 270 NFL matchups in which a team comes in having scored less than 10 points in their previous matchup AND in which their opponent is the public favorite (30%+ of betting differential) that team covers the spread 61% of the time.
- Early Season Winless Teams
- In the last 172 matchups in Weeks 3-6 involving a road team that has yest to win a game, that team covers the spread 60% of the time.
There are two teams that meet the criteria for 2 of the 3 systems. I love them both:
- Denver Broncos +6.5 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- New York Giants +6.5 @ Cleveland Browns
There is one team that meets the criteria for all 3 systems. That team also happens to be bringing in the Red Rifle at QB. My most disgusting pick that I feel obligated as a student of the game to bet:
- Carolina Panthers +5.5 @ Las Vegas Raiders
We have our all new power rankings. Strength of schedule is a factor in these rankings.

That does it for Week 3. I have to go throw up after typing out Professor Pickum’s picks this week. Until next time I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. Enjoy Week 3.
Let’s Go!
