Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Recap. What a week. We had some big time scorers this weekend. We also saw a team continue a downward spiral. The middle of the pack teams did some reshuffling. It will be interesting to see how things shake out going forward. Let’s take a look at the games and Professor Pickum.
Game of the week.

v.

Teach v. Pistol
This was for the battle of the 6 seed. Turns out the winner of this is sitting comfortably in the 5 seed. This would go into Sunday night, with Pistol having Purdy and Mason going. It came down to the wire. Teach went with the Miami trio that put up 37 points. Not a great showing. The points came from Mixon’s 21, Shakir’s 15, Pollard’s 12, and 10 from Aaron Jones. Pistol had some good plays as well. Gibbs put up 20, G-Wil had 14, and A.J. Brown and Kincaid each had 11. Purdy showed up on Sunday night for 32, but Jordan Mason only had 2 points. It was a tragic end to Pistol’s night coming up just short, Teach wins 124.1 to 118.7. If the playoffs were today, Teach is in and Pistol is out.

v.

Bruce v. Batman
I understand that going against Batman is not easy. Batman has a solid squad. However, starting Noah Fant as a flex play should be investigated. The only explanation is that Bruce is tanking. Why would Bruce tank when he traded away his pick? I do not know, Bruce has made questionable decisions since the debut of this league. All I know is that starting Noah Fant in a week when there are no byes, this raises a lot of questions. Bruce needed a miracle on Monday night to beat Batman. Bruce saw 18 from JT, 14 from Brian Thomas Jr., and 12 from Evan Engram. BTJ ultimately got banged up this week, so Bruce’s skid will might continue next week. Batman put up some points this weekend. Lamar had 33, Cook had 27, Kyren had 20, Swift had 19, DeVonta had 18, McBride had 17, Olave and Njoku each had 15, and Jakobi Meyers had 14. The “bad” play by Batman was Chuba Hubbard’s 8 points. Bruce saw a total of 26 from Najee and Nabers. Batman won 185.15 to 114.7.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. CrossFit
Mind you, CrossFit was a 36 point favorite going into this matchup. There is no way that CrossFit lost right? D.W. had a big week from Kirk with 42, Downs put down 21 points, Tank Dell and Xavier Worthy each had 12, and Jerry Jeudy even added 10. A solid week from D.W. but not unbeatable. CrossFit was bad. Travis Kelce had 20, Rachaad White added 13, Barkley had 12, and Deebo had 11. The bad came from Amari, Douglas and Locket all scoring 2 or less points a piece. D.W. wins 124.38 to 98.81. This win does not hurt D.W.’s draft pick, but certainly puts a strain on CrossFit’s playoff aspirations.

v.

Trashman v. Bottom Bunk
Trashman had two players score more than 10 points, both were tight ends. That is a bad sign for your team. LaPorta had 14 and Mark Andrews had 12. B.B. had a big week. Bottom Bunk cranked up the heat with his new team. Bake show put up 35, Ceedee had 33, Bijan had 20, and Monty had 17. B.B.’s two new players won this week on their own. That is an incredible turnaround. B.B. went from the laughing stock of this entire league to a potential frontrunner. It will be an interesting end of the season with B.B. in the mix. B.B. wins 148.35 to 56.5.

v.

PeePaw v. Touchdown Guy
PeePaw had TDG on the ropes early. This just fired up TDG’s guys. TDG put on a clinic. First, PeePaw did hit 100 points in a rebuild, so that is a good sign. Cedric Tillman had 25, Mostert, Jefferson, and Keon Coleman all had 16 a piece, and Jaleel McLaughlin added a dozen. TDG wanted it bad. Zero players had single digit points. The Tall Josh Allen and the young Ladd had 29 a piece, Kittle had 22, Ridley had 18, Puka had 15, Conner, D-Train, and Kupp each had 14, and Mike Wilson even added 12. What a week for TDG. TDG is the lead dog this week, he’s also lead dog on the year. TDG wins 190.25 to 114.15.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons
Mush put up points this week. Tyrone Tracy had 22, Maserati Marve had 20, Legette had 11, and Ricky Pearsall had 10. JDG put up more points. Cade Otton had 25, Mooney had 17, Chase had 16, Dobbins, Kamara, and McLaurin each had 15, Hunt had 13, and Diggs had 10. Diggs is out for the season, which hurts JD3’s odds this year. Luckily he has a deep bench, but losing a top talent like Diggs hurts. JD3 may make a move for a WR before the deadline, but let’s wait and see. JD3 wins 154.7 to 112.65.
