Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Recap. With the holidays in the middle of the wee it made the preview difficult. Here you’ll find all the buildup and result of the Championship Round. Let’s get to it.

#3 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. #5 Bruce
The 2021 Championship Rematch. In 2021 Bruce was the 2 seed and JD3 was the 5. JD3 was a top team for the first 75% of the season before a late collapse resulting in the 3 seed. Bruce started out slow, was in the middle ground for a stretch, and then closed out the season hot. Bruce having a QB shuffle of Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow. JD3 and Bruce both made moves. JD3 added Kamara while Bruce added Cook and Metcalf. JD3 did not have a first in the last draft while Bruce had a couple, Bruce grabbed Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. in the rookie draft. This matchup was unforeseen by the league. Both JD3 and Bruce pulled off upsets to find themselves in the championship. Upset is an understatement, both were major underdogs. As for this game, the big one, Bruce was favored by 10 points going into it. JD3 had Mahomes while Bruce had Burrow. Bruce had JT, James Cook, and Najee at RB. JD3 had Hunt and Dobbins. JD3 had Chase, Nico, McLaurin, Mooney, Keenan, and D-Hop at WR. Bruce had DK, Nabers, Brian Thomas, DJ Moore, and Jauan Jennings. At TE JD3 had Conklin and Bruce had Likely. Bruce was without Evan Engram for the Championship. JD3 was without Kamara, Otton, Sanders, Diggs, and Brooks. JD3 would strike first with Mahomes putting up 38 early while Hunt and D-Hop would combine for 10. Dobbins helped things with 15 as well. JD3 had an ok lead but it would come down to how Burrow did. JD3 would see 18 from Conklin and 15 from Chase. Unfortunately for JD3, Terry had 1, Allen and Mooney each had 5, and Nico added 8. Bruce needed a above average week from Burrow. He got that and then some. Burrow put up a monster 51 points. Najee had 9, Cook 11, DJ Moore 9, Jennings 10, DK 6, and Likely 7. Bruce not only saw a monster performance from Burrow, but also his young guys. Bruce saw 20 from Brian Thomas Jr. It did not stop there. Bruce saw 27 from JT. It DID NOT STOP THERE. Bruce saw 33 from Malik Nabers in the Championship Game. While there was hope early for JD3 that went away early. Bruce wins the Championship 183.5 to 113.1. Bruce is the new Champion and the league’s 5th Champion.

Bruce had the following to add, “I’d like to thank my league mates for all the support during this season. Specifically Mush for running the show, PeePaw, Batman, TDG, DW, Trashman, and Mush for being great trade partners, Pistol and CrossFit for recently being engaged married, Teach for inspiring me to want to be a better golfer, and B.B. for making me feel like a better golfer. All of these managers have always been good decent opponents who I enjoyed competing with all year. Rest up off-season trading starts soon!”
JD3 had the following to say, “Health is wealth and we broke.”
Join me on congratulating Bruce the 2024 Pot Cakes Dynasty League Champion.

#1 Touchdown Guy v. #2 Batman
Neither team probably thinks that they should be in this game. Unfortunately, a down week at the wrong time does that. TDG and Batman had plenty of big names. At QB TDG has the Tall Josh Allen and Batman has Lamar Jackson. Their RBs consist of RBs that perform week in and week out. TDG has D-Henry, James Conner, and Josh Jacobs. Batman has Kyren, Achane, Bucky Irving, and D-Swift. TDG has the WR duo of Kupp and Puka, Higgins, Ladd, and Mike Evans. Batman has DeVonta Smith, Zay Flowers, Jakobi Meyers, and Quentin Johnston. The TE matchup was TDG with Kittle and Batman with McBride. I think the only difference is the WR matchup favoring TDG. Batman was without Olave while TDG was without Chris Godwin. This was a doozy of a matchup, I believe TDG has a 15 point favorite going into it. Batman would win the QB battle with 36 for Lamar and 30 for Allen. Batman would also win the TE matchup, McBride had 24 and Kittle had 15. RB wise, Batman also won 51 combined points from Swift, Kyren, Achane, and Bucky Irving. Bucky leading the way with 21. TDG saw 37 from Henry, Conner, and Jacobs. Henry had 24 and Conner left early with an injury and had 2. The WR matchup was one sided. TDG had 3 monster performances, 1 above average, while Batman had 1 monster and 1 above average. TDG saw 3 from Kupp. That was the bad. The good was 35 from Tee Higgins, 26 from Mike Evans, 25 from Ladd McKonkey, and 18 from Puka. Batman saw 27 from DeVonta, 15 from Jakobi, 7 from Q-Johnston, and 4 from Zay. TDG won the 3rd place spot with a score of 188.8 to 164. TDG ended the year, like many weeks before, as lead dog.
Consolation Bracket.

#7 CrossFit v. #8 Pistol
There was a lot on the line for this week. The 1.13 pick. This is a luxury pick, maybe take a chance on a QB or TE, or just add depth. This pick can be paired to move up or used for a vet. There are a lot of options here. CrossFit was likely the favorite heading into this matchup. CrossFit has an old team and needs this pick worse than others. CrossFit saw 37 out of Goff, 18 from Barkley, 18 from Kelce, 16 from St. Brown, 14 from Deebo, 13 from Cooper, and 13 from Demario Douglas. This was a great week from CrossFit. Pistol would need a perfect lineup to get it done. Pistol saw 43 from Purdy, 24 from Gibbs, 14 from G-Wilson, 11 from A.J. Brown, and 11 from Chase Brown. Pistol had the better team this week. The problem was that Pistol pulled a CrossFit. Pistol started the wrong guy. If Pistol went with Kyle Pitts (which you can’t do because he’s been bad) over Dalton Kincaid, Pistol would have the 1.13. That didn’t happen and CrossFit wins 147.29 to 140.17. CrossFit walks away with the 1.13 and Pistol adds the 2.13.

v.

#9 Daddy Wombat v. #10 PeePaw
This matchup was for the coveted pick 3.13. Surely everyone would set their lineup with a pick on the line. PeePaw did. PeePaw ended the year hot. PeePaw had CrossFit on the ropes last weekend, and threw D.W. out of the building this week. PeePaw had 36 from Herbert, 28 from Mims, 22 from Jameo Williams, 14 from Warren, 13 from Jefferson, 10 from Coleman, and 10 from Jonnu Smith. D.W. did not set their lineup and did not hit 100 points. PeePaw won 143.63 to 84.95. PeePaw adds the 3.13 and D.W. added 4.13.
Well that does it for this year. It was a crazy year. CMC out to start. A lot of top end WRs being injured. A lot of rookies showing up. A new champion too. Bruce was the only team that thought Bruce could win the championship this year (much like B.B. was the only team that thought B.B. would, the difference being that one actually won). We will have to see what the future of the league holds. We have teams that fail to set their lineup week in and week out. We have teams that try to vote for league rules that only benefit their team. We have a Commissioner with a contract that needs to be renewed by the league. We will see what the offseason brings, but until next time I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. Mush, you’re on the clock.
Let’s Go!
