Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Recap. We had half the games decided on Monday night. It was a great weekend of football (for some, maybe me?), but a few injuries added to the mix makes this next week even more challenging. Before we get ahead of ourselves we have to dive into the matchups. We entered the week with 2 unbeatens and 2 beatens. Who is left? Who is dead like my computer (yes this is coming live from my phone, please forgive me for all my spelling mistakes, a computer would not have changed anything, but I just want to be in your thoughts)? Can CrossFit and Touchdown Guy continue the rise to glory, and can PeePaw or Batman get out of the basement. We find out about Batman first while looking at the Co-Game of the Week.

Batman v. Bruce

v.

This one came down to the wire. Batman having nothing to lose (except all his games so far this season), and Bruce looking to mix it up with the big dawgs. Entering Monday Night, Bruce had a 40 point lead, with Renfrow and Jared Cook to play, Batman having the 1-2 punch of Carr and Waller. It was a tale of two cities. Batman had no RBs show up this week, and Bruce had no wide receivers. Swift had a cool 6.9 points, Hubbard added 8.1, and Myles Gaskin put up an atrocious 0.3 points. Bruce had a big week. Zeke 20, JT and Najee both had 18, and Fournette put up 15 in an ugly game. WR wise, Batman had the better day. DeVante Parker had his best week with 15, DeVonta Smith added 15 too, Laviska Shenault put up 14, and even Jakobi Meyers had 13. Shenault should be interesting going forward given the unfortunate ankle break suffered by Bruce’s D.J. Chark. Chark was hurt immediately in the game and started Bruce off with 0 points. Tyler Boyd stepped up and added a sweet 16. Godwin only had 7. Joe Burrow got Bruce off to a good start and early lead dog with 32 points. But it would still all come down to Monday night, Batman needed some magic, would he get it? Carr and Waller combined for 35, and Renfrow and Cook added 32. Bruce came out on top, in what could have been a thriller of a co-game of the week, 164.9 to 129.25.

Touchdown Guy v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

This co-game of the week came down to Monday Night as well. The game of the week schedule maker(s) (not the actual schedule itself) got these two right. TDG finally saw his RBs take over. Saquon had 27, Henry had 24. Bob Woods made his biggest splash of the season adding a dirty dozen. Mike Evans put up a sneaky 11 too. The Tall Josh Allen had 28. JD3 relied on his first round pick in last years draft, Mahomes put up 47. McLaurin added 27, Diggs had 15, and Chase remained in double digits adding 10. The downfall was the RB play, Sanders and Singletary combined for 15 points. AND I DO NOT WANT TO SAY WHO HAD MORE POINTS HEAD TO HEAD. I cannot make that clear enough. How does a team’s RB1 have 5 touches and 10 touches in back to back games? The injury bug bit JD3 without notice. The 49ers kept Robbie Gould active despite a game ending injury happening before the opening kickoff, and Logan Thomas also got hurt during the game. In a game of the week, even if it’s a co-game of the week, that is a bad look. Either way, Monday Night TDG had a 3.1 point lead. TDG has Mike Williams, the fantasy WR1 on the season for the Chargers, and JD3 has Keenan Allen, the actual WR1 for the Chargers. Everything in the world returned to normal as Keenan Allen outscored Mike Williams, 7.1 to 1.6. At the end of the night the Ekeler breakout game, and a few missed throws saved JD3’s season. Jonny DIII wins 138.3 to 135.9 and takes down the reigning champ.

Daddy Wombat v. Teach

v.

Daddy Wombat’s depth continues to suffer. Claypool was ruled out on Saturday, forcing DW to reach into their bench. It would not matter. Russ had a solid game with 30 points. Damien Williams added 14 and will play the next 4 or so weeks while Monty is out, assuming DW can stay healthy. Kamara 12 points, no targets, yikes. D-Hop is injured and put together 8 points. Will Fuller got hurt in the game and added 1 point, and is ruled out next week. Gabe Davis, goose egg. Teach brought his A-game. Teach was lead dog for a good portion of Sunday afternoon and it’s easy to see why. Tyreek Hill put up 42, and D.J. Moore had 28. A.J. Green also added 15. Luckily for Teach, Mixon put up 13 points, but is injured and will likely be less productive the next few weeks. Teach did not need to worry about much this week, with the huge production from his receivers, it was over quick. Teach wins 165.76 to 108.77.

Pistol v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Pistol set the world on fire with his Week 2 win. Mush hosed him out. Kyler had a “down week” only putting up 32 points. James Robinson starting things off great on Thursday with 20 points. Sneaky start of the week with Kadarius Toney got Pistol 11 points, and even Michael Carter added almost 10 points. Unfortunately for Pistol, his bench Packer Randall Cobb had two touchdowns and 21 bench points, while Lazard and Tonyan combined for no touchdowns and 6 points in the starting lineup. Kareem Hunt added 15 as a solid RB option. The downfall, Nyheim Hines appears to have lost his role to Marlon Mack. Who knows what will happen if Mack is traded? Mush ended the week as lead dog. Sorry, spoilers. Deebo had 32, Diontae had 19, Clyde had 18, Hollywood had 17, and Mike Gesicki added 14. That’s super solid. This big week pushed Mush up the rankings within the app, only question is will it moves him up the power rankings? Mush mauls Pistol, 168.2 to 113.5.

CrossFit v. Bottom Bunk

v.

A Monday night thriller. B.B. held a 20+ point lead heading into Monday night. CrossFit had a tough week, TB12 did not find the endzone putting up 16 points. The same goes for Lockett and his 4 points, Kupp and his 9, and Kelce with his 4. Solid week for Amari Cooper with 14, and big week from Jamison Crowder with 15. This would all leave it to Ekeler who we will get to after B.B. B.B. saw TB12’s bad week and raised a Teddy2Gloves 10 points. Edmonds and Hendy combined for exactly 30 points. Corey Davis put up a monster 19, and even Dallas Goedert put in a td for 14 total points. The acquisition of Sammy Watkins is already blowing up in B.B.’s face. Sammy Watkins had 7 points. B.B. would head into Monday Night hoping to keep his hot streak alive with a low 20+ point lead. CrossFit had Austin Ekeler. Ekeler found the end zone twice and had 3 catches, plus 117 rushing yards. It was magical. Ekeler got 28 and the win for CrossFit. CrossFit crunches B.B. 120.15 to 114.35.

Trashman v. PeePaw

Trashman is looking to get even, but most of his team put up just ok numbers. However, a monster outing for Cordarrelle Patterson and 35 points helped Trashman. Zack Moss added a cool 12 and Golladay added 14. Bryan Edwards added 1 point and Allen Robinson woes continue having 8 points. PeePaw is currently overlooking a lake, while Johnny Cash “Hurt” plays in the distance. Sam Darnold had a day, 41 points and 4 total TDs. Monty put up 22 before getting hurt (4-5 weeks). Justin Jefferson added 17. Having tight end issues, PeePaw went with last week’s hot hand Tyler Conklin and it cost him. Dalton Schultz put up 14 to Conk’s 3. Bad week from CeeDee with 2, Cook with 5, and Aiyuk with 5. All of this adds up to another heartbreaking loss. To add insult to injury, PeePaw’s 4 opponents on the season have all had their best week against him. PeePaw falls to 0-4, Trashman wins 143.28 to 136.55.

I oversold on my predictions, missed bad on Zeke and Najee. Corey Davis was right. Hollywood was back. Brandin Cooks was down this week.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Preview

Good morning everyone, we have the Week 4 Pot Cakes Dynasty Preview. It is almost impossible to have as bad of a slate of games as this (last minute changed) schedule. There should be a lot of one-sided games this week. We have two games within 10 projected points of each other. And one of those matchups is between two of the heavyweights, and the other is between two of the nosebleeds. These guys ain’t even in the ring. I’m talking pillar in front of their view, knee shoved in the corner of the concrete pipe leaking above them, cob webs, and urine smell nose bleed seats. Seeing as the heavy weights, one of them has been the game of the week outright too many times already, our sponsors, of which there are none, suggested we roll with a co-game of the week format. We have TWO (2) Games of the Week. We will then look at the remaining games, make some hopefully better predictions, hear from Dr. Tilt, and look at the new power rankings with an all new last place team. We will work our way towards the ring and start with the nose bleed co-game of the week.

Co-Game of the Week

Batman v. Bruce

v.

Batman fell apart last week, losing once in the PCDL, and also another league to Mush. Will the Dark Knight follow the lead on my blood pressure and rise? The first win of the season is a riddle Batman cannot solve. D’Andre Swift, RB3 on the year, is Batman’s only hope. He faces the very bad Chicago Bears. Lamar goes against a tough Denver Defense. BUT, Denver’s opponents have a combined 0-9 record (they are like Batman’s record). Can Lamar bring Denver back to down to Earth? (Bob Woods is gone, like Robin) Bob Woods is on pace for just over 100 targets. He saw about 130 the last three years with one less game a season. Stafford has put the (Dr.) freeze on Bob. If Juju is healthy this week, that should mean that he and Harris split the dump down passed Big Ben throws. Darren Waller started the season hot, hot, hot. And now he is the bane of Batman’s existence in this league. Noah Fant gets to play the Ravens, which is where Waller made his money. Hopefully, Fant shows the good side this week, as he was two faced last week only have 2.5 points on the bad Jets. Batman enters this matchup as a 7 point dog. Bruce hit late Monday night with a splash to get his first win. Zeke saw his captain down and yelled “all aboard” and sailed the team into victory. The biggest concerns Bruce has is whether or not his QB and RB2 can stay afloat. Joe Burrow is not winning any games for fantasy, and Jonathan Taylor is currently an RB3 in fantasy. Najee Harris has found his sea legs in the passing game. He is well on his way to have somewhere between 5-8 catches a game. Hunter Renfrow is full steam ahead on getting enough receptions a game to keep him as a flex play, averaging 12 a week is very solid. Bruce is looking for a life preserver at the tight end position. As this spot is one of his many weaknesses on his all but sinking ship. Bruce also has Godwin in the Brady v. Patriots revenge game. Godwin will be the anchor for Brady’s revenge. When it is all said and done, Batman the 7 point dog, loses, because Bruce has more guys that can breakout.

Co-Game of the Week

Touchdown Guy v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

Having used all my creative juices in the first Co-Game of the Week, this one speaks for itself. We have two of the best teams going at it. The #2 and #3 point scorers of this (early) season. The Tall Josh Allen squares off against Patrick Mahomes, in what should be an even matchup. RBs are TDG all the way. Saquon, Henry, and Gordon. Gordon being the sneaky play as the RB 11 so far. Who saw that coming? JD3 has Miles Sanders and Kenyan Drake (pending Jacobs status). Sanders is not playing well enough this year. He’s an RB3 and needs to find the end zone. The Eagles are hurting Sanders production. WRs the edge goes to JD3. JD3 has McLaurin, Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and the TD Machine Ja’Marr Chase. TDG has the vets, Thielen, Mike Evans, Julio, Bob Woods (freshly traded), and Tim Patrick. Sneakily, Mike Williams is the WR2 on the year. If he continues his TD production, the odds swing to TDG in this department. Tim Patrick is looking for revenge after basically being given to TDG for a bag of chips. T-Pats has the chance with a depleted Broncos receiving core to finish as a WR2 on the year. TE matchup goes to TDG as Kittle is better than Logan Thomas. Right now JD3 is a 5 point dog, but the app gives him a slight advantage to win. This is a very good app, great app, I would never say anything bad about the app. But I will also never pick a JD3 game, should be a good one start to finish.

Daddy Wombat v. Teach

v.

Daddy Wombat is barely hanging on. Russ, Kamara, Hop, and Metcalf. Big time issues with the RB2, big time issues with Fuller, Davis, and Rondale Moore. Too inconsistent. Back in my day a man just went to work and put in his 8 hours. Woke up and did it again. Daddy Wombat doesn’t have that in his lineup. He has too many guys that show up some weeks and not others. He needs his 9-5 to get it done. He doesn’t have that in his lineup. Too many guys wanting vacations. Seasonal employment you got to go to work. We will see how D.W. does. Teach, well he’s still trying to get the top grade. Off to a 2-1 start. Mixon has been solid, could use more double digit weeks. Carson has been super solid, putting up decent points each week. Tyreek has not been great, but he’s due. D.J. Moore is top of the class. Lastly, we have Hockenson who had a bad week, but is still one of the top TEs to have. We will see who has gets the grade this week. Right now Teach is a 15 point favorite and I think he stays the teacher’s pet. Teach takes this one.

Pistol v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Pistol has had his safety off for the first three weeks of the season. Going 1-2 was not the start he was looking for, what is more concerning is how his team is almost winning each week. He is comparable to the Lions. Secretly (well the Lions are secretly) wants to lose but still ends up finding himself in some dog fights. Pistol is trying to cannon ball down to the last spot to get pick 1.01 of the draft. Kyler Murray, Kareem Hunt, James Robinson, Courtland Sutton, all stand in his way of failure. But a handful of injuries help Pistol reload his goal. These injuries pump James Washington and Michael Carter from the lineup to the starting lineup. Pistol is an 11 point dog and hoping to rifle off another loss. Mush will now face the 3rd matchup of a team with a losing record. There have been 4 weeks. Stafford is marching into the MVP discussion as he has the Rams offense clicking. Clyde and Gibby are both coming off of decent weeks. The artist formerly known as Hollywood Brown is looking to get his act together after a bunch of drops. This is on par for his fantasy production, as some weeks he’s bad, and other weeks he’s BAD (the good kind). Deebo finds himself in a pickle as the 49ers spread the ball around with Aiyuk, Kittle, and Deebo. Plus, the 49ers run every back they have. Touches are a concern, but Deebo always has a chance to bust a play wide open. Ruggs is a boom bust guy. The Raiders and Chargers should be a boom game. I expect a lot of deep shots from both sides, making Ruggs a sneaky start this week. OBJ looked great, and Gesicki finally got his targets. Mush is off to a lead in the rankings and is looking to gain more ground, I think he gets it done as the favorite.

CrossFit v. Bottom Bunk

v.

This matchup should be over fairly quickly. CrossFit lost CMC for a week or two. B.B. is looking to capitalize on that. CrossFit is rolling out the receivers, Lockette, Bob Anderson, Amari Cooper Kupp, and Beasley. With some injuries he’s going dual tight ends, Kelce and Ertz. RBs Ekeler and Davis, and QB Dak. The red flag is Zach Ertz, someone you would expect to be on Bottom Bunks team. B.B. had some issues with a trade, has had issues with the waiver wire, but nonetheless got Sammy Watkins giving up a 3rd round pick to Batman. The good news is that Rashod Bateman is expected to return to Baltimore, so this move makes your head scratch worse than bed bugs. Anyway, B.B. is rolling with Edmonds and Mattison, Corey Davis and Calvin Ridley, and who could forget Justin Tucker. B.B.’s team has to mention the kicker as he outscores most of his lineup. Every week his guys roll out of the wrong side of the bed. Bottom Bunk sits at a 2-1 record having faced team’s with a combined 3-6 record, teams that are all in the bottom half of point projections. This week, B.B. faces the top dog, CrossFit, who in only 3 weeks already has more than 100 points scored compared to B.B. CrossFit is a 40 point favorite, CrossFit can chalk this week up to an easy win.

Trashman v. PeePaw

v.

PeePaw has been in the spotlight too long. If you have made it this far, having read up on your favorite teams, Trashman and PeePaw go at it to see who should really be at the bottom of the ranks. Trashman is still rolling with Lawrence, despite having 3 other QBs on his bench with higher point totals on the season. Trashman also finds himself in a pinch, having to decide between Peyton Barber, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Zack Moss as the 4th RB in his lineup. Due to some injuries to Jarvis Landry and Curtis Samuel, Trashman reaches into his bag for Braxton Berrios and Bryan Edwards as starters. Allen Robinson is off to a terrible start and that is probably the biggest blow to his team. Chubb and Jones will need to get their elbows dirty this week to pull out a win as 16 point dogs. PeePaw is off to a terrible start. He did not start off hot last year and finished strong. Maybe it’s his thing. Monty and Sermon are the backfield duo as Cook looks to get healthy. Aiyuk showed up last week and hopefully can be consistent going forward. In place of A.J. Brown (hammy), PeePaw is rolling out Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Hopefully this move can get some of the targets that A.J. Brown was not connecting on. Davante is a lock and so is Lamb and Jefferson. PeePaw is also looking for his first productive week from the TE spot, going with Conklin. These injuries PeePaw has sustained early, Jeff Wilson, Gus Edwards, Irv Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dalvin Cook, all are slowing down PeePaw. Marlon Mack is in the trade rumors, and is something that could help PeePaw as his team gets back to full strength. Either way, PeePaw gets his first win due to better receivers.

Now some predictions.

Unfortunately, stud Brandin Cooks has a slow week. Josh Allen will throw for 400 yards and 3 tuds. Derrick Henry is going to have 200 rushing yards. Waller will be TE1 this week. Adams WR1 this week. Corey Davis gets back on track this week. Zeke has a bad week and so does Najee. Hollywood will struggle against the Broncos defense. That’s all I got

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 4 Picks

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.

It’s almost full tilt mode for Dr. Tilt.  After 3 straight weeks of going 1-2 this is the week the Doc promises to be back on the winning side.  Here’s the prescription for week 4.

Giants @ Saints -7.5
The Saints finally return to New Orleans to take on the G Mennnnnnnn (Chris Berman Voice).  The Super Dome will be rockin’. Don’t overthink this one.  Take the Saints.

Browns @ Vikings Over 51.5
Since the game Week 1 against the Bengals, the Vikings have been in back to back shoot outs.  Expect that to continue this week as the Browns travel up to US Bank Stadium.  This should be a fun one, with a lot of points put up.  Points are fun, take the over.

Raiders @ Chargers Over 52.5
According to the Doc’s calculation the primetime games have gone over in 8 of the first 9 through 3 weeks.  Don’t expect that to change on Monday Night.  Unfortunately we’ll all be stuck listening to Steve Levy, Lou Riddick and Brian Griese instead of the Manning Brothers.  Hopefully all the points make up for this.

Dr. Tilt was 1-2 to Week 3, 3-6 on the season.

From the desk of Dr. Tilt:

Season Record: 3-6

Let’s dive into the Week 4 power rankings.

Bottom Bunk is back. Not a ton of movement. More just guys falling down the charts. Pistol is in shooting range of a playoff spot, but he will likely fall as the season goes on.

That does it for Week 4. We got a thriller tomorrow night between the Bengals and Jags, we should have a lead dog tomorrow night and it might be your boy. We will have to see if we will still have two lossless and two winless teams after the week. With all these teams stacked up in the middle you could see some separation on top if CrossFit and TDG stay hot, we will find out next week. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Recap. We take a look at the Week 3 matchups and how Dr. Tilt did. We have 2 undefeated teams, and 2 teams without a win. No wins, is not good for the power rankings. A lot of teams bunched up, should be a good week coming up. But we are not there yet, we have to look at the Week 3 stuff. Maybe we even take a look at a Week 3 matchup in a different league. Let’s get to it, the Week 3 Game of the Week.

PeePaw v. Touchdown Guy

v.

There is one person who has suffered a great deal of emotional paid from the scheduling shift just prior to the season. That is PeePaw. A.J. Brown, hammy, 0.3 points. The good news is Sermon had 10, Adams had 25, Jefferson 22, and Aiyuk 14. So PeePaw now has two options in Sermon and Aiyuk going forward. Monty put up 6 and Agholor only had 2. Those hurt. But his point total was not terrible. Mediocre point total, 50/50 win/lose. However, you can’t be mediocre when you facing the top dawg. TDG is this week’s lead dog, and he hit that mark convincingly. Josh Allen is tall and 52 points baby, oh my lord. Henry and Saquon combine for 35. Thielen and Evans almost match (28 combined) Mike Williams 29 points. Melvin and Tim Patrick added 26 total. With the unfortunate loss of K.J. Hamler, this is great news for TDG as Patrick will get more targets, and Melvin will be needed more as well. Kittle also had a good game with 13. TDG went off for 204.4, and beat PeePaw in this revenge game. TDG 204.4 to 139.3.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. CrossFit

v.

This matchup was much more entertaining than the game of the week. JD3 had Mahomes with 34, Allen 15, Cooks 16, Ja’Marr Chase with 20. Logan Thomas added 8. The bad was Diggs only put up 9 seeing TDs go to Emmanuel Sanders, and Mooney had 9 of the Bears 41 total yards, to add 1 point, and McLaurin only gave JD3 8 points. It would all come down to Monday night, as JD3 had a slight lead needing Miles Sanders to fend off both Dak and Amari Cooper. CrossFit had CMC go down with 5 points, Ekeler put up 19, Kupp 26, Beasley 15, and Kelce added 14. Those were the highs, the lows were Robbie Anderson 1.3, and Lockett’s 5.1. With a 14 point lead, Miles put up 7, Dak and Cooper managed 34. It was a late finish, second half Dak threw a couple TDs. Nail meet coffin, CrossFit buried an undefeated team. CrossFit wins 141.1 to 129.

Bottom Bunk v. Daddy Wombat

v.

It is tough to write on bad teams. B.B.’s leading scores are as follows, Mattison with 20, Tucker with 18, and Bridgewater with 16. This is back to back weeks where B.B.’s QB is not a top 2 scorer on his team. For those of you just discovering fantasy football, the QB position should be your leading scorer, OR a different play has a career day and outscores the QB. Somehow, neither of those things are happening for B.B. and his QBs just stink. Edmonds is looking great, 11 points is super solid. Ridley added 10, which is ok, but not great considering what everyone thought Ridley would be. D.W. somehow managed to be just as bad. The RB2 situation is absolutely killing D.W. Damien Williams, RB2 for D.W., 0 points. Kamara added a nice 19, Metcalf the same, and Claypool put up 14. D-Hop was uncharacteristic with 3 points. The other issue for D.W. is needing to rely on some young guys, Rondale Moore and Gabriel Davis combined for almost 7 points. This all came down to Monday Night, D.W. having a 4 point lead, B.B. rolling with Goedert. Goedert got 7 points, and 7 wins, 120.15 to 116.5. D.W. could have started Jalen Hurts to get the win, but missed starts across the board gave B.B. a free pass.

Teach v. Pistol

v.

In the most unlikely situation you will ever see, Pistol cannot stop shooting himself in the foot. Teach put up an all-time stinker of a week. Tee Higgins was out of the Bengals lineup but in Teach’s. Tyreek only managed 7 points. Hockenson only put up 2. Chris Carson added 15, D.J. Moore 16, and Waddle had 11. Monday night Teach rolled with Pollard and a 4 point lead, against Pistol and Greg the leg. Pistol saw top tier production from Hunt with 24, Hines with 16, and Robinson with 22. Sutton was down with 6, Slayton 2, Pitts 4, and James White just over a half point. In the end Teach pulled it off, 122.25 to 115.4. Pistol is really going through a roller coaster of a week. His team has been up and then somehow he ends up losing in the very end. Thank goodness, for Pistol, he lost in a nail biter.

Batman v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

There is no person who benefited more from the scheduling change than (the person who did it) Mush. Batman had a bad week from some guys that should have turned it on. Fant had 2 and a half, Bob Woods still had a low 5 points, Gaskin only had 9, and Juju put up 4. In other news, Swift put up 20 and Jakobi Meyers put up 14. Mush’s backs finally turned it on. Clyde had 16, Gibby 17, and Javonte 11. Stafford had 43. Sneaky plays were Gesicki having 13, OBJ 11, and Ruggs 11. If you can have that 10-15 points across the board, that helps, and Mush got that this week. Mush wins 152.75 to 105.55. Also, Batman lost to Mush in a different league. What an embarrassing week for Batman. 0-2 to the same guy, same week? Big time yikes for him. I mean he really lost twice. Luckily Batman wears a mask because it has to be tough to look at the man in the mirror this week. He’s also 0-3.

Trashman v. Bruce

v.

Trashman has one of the worst on paper lineups. However, paper is just paper. Peyton Barber had 21, Cordarrelle Patterson had 14, and Bryan Edwards had 10. T-Law had 13, A-Rob had 3, and Chubb had 8. What kind of Bizzaro World is this? Bruce need 20 from Zeke Monday night. Goff had 13, J.T. had 7, Najee had 21 Godwin 16, Damien Harris 2, Chark 12, and K.J. Osborn 3. Bruce had a great bench day, with Sanders putting up 24, and Renfrow having 17. Bruce pulls off an insane comeback, Zeke had 25. Bruce wins 127.85 to 122.69. This is one of those games that no one should have won. Both teams having a QB put up 13 points, multiple single digit players, and now both teams are 1-2.

I would just ignore me. Predictions were off. Mike Evans did well, so did Godwin and Gronk. Fournette was not good. Chargers and Chiefs were good, but Hill was down. McLaurin was down but Gibby was up. Mixon and Harris both had good games. I will just start saying my guys will be bad.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Preview

Good morning everyone, we have Week 3 of the Pot Cakes Dynasty League. We have a few teams that remained unbeaten, we also have a few friends yet to win a game. Eight wins should get you to the playoffs and some teams are a quarter of the way there. After this week, we are half way there to when the bye weeks kick in. Winning now is crucial to avoid potential bad matchups due to the bye. These early games count. Let’s dive right in to our Week 3 (unsponsored) game of the Week.

PeePaw v. Touchdown Guy

v.

Here me out. I get it. PeePaw is 0-2, Touchdown Guy is 2-0. But the app says this is going to be a close, high scoring game. PeePaw NEEDS, Cook and Monty to take over. Cook is going up against the Seahawks, and hopefully the minor injury he sustained last week doesn’t hinder him at all. Monty is going up against the tough Cleveland Browns. I do think this is good for Monty as he should see a lot of passing work. A.J. Brown was bad, he has to bounce back right? Lamb goes up against division rival, Adams is going up against a playoff potential matchup, and Jefferson joins Cook with Seattle. Now if Aiyuk is looking to finally put up some points, this is his week. The Packers secondary have given up a lot of points, Aiyuk gets his chance. PeePaw needs his last WR to do well, and he needs a QB to put up 30 to be in this matchup. TDG has Josh Allen, Derrick Henry, Saquon, Thielen, Mike Evans, Julio, and Melvin Gordon. These are all big names. Only Evans has the negative matchup. So the odds are against PeePaw and for TDG. TDG sees that PeePaw is 0-2, and while TDG beat PeePaw in the championship, what a funeral it would be to have PeePaw start out 0-3 in the game of the week. TDG had D-Henry back to form last week, can he at least get double digits from Saquon? That will be the big question. TDG is a 2 point favorite, and I think all his old players still have one last ride in them.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. CrossFit

v.

The battle of the unbeaten. The problem is that CrossFit is a juggernaut, especially without the bye weeks. JD3 has Mahomes, and Mahomes needs to win the matchup over CrossFit and Dak. Now, the RB matchup is very one sided. JD3 has Sanders and Singletary. CrossFit has CMC and Ekeler. JD3 needs at least Miles to match Ekeler. A Touchdown for Singletary would be huge. WRs, this is where it gets tight. JD3 has Keenan Allen, Diggs, and McLaurin. CrossFit is looking at Lockett and Amari Cooper Kupp. While CrossFit has seen big breakout weeks for his trio, it is important that JD3 big three have a solid week and CrossFit’s guys don’t have breakout weeks again. Now the rest of the group. JD3 has Cooks, Pittman, and Chase. CrossFit has Robbie Anderson, Cole Beasley, and Mike Davis. This is a matchup JD3 has to win, and it’s doable. Robbie Anderson is a target monster, but the targets go to CMC. Cooks is still a monster despite the bad Texans. Last, JD3 has Logan Thomas and CrossFit has Kelce. JD3 needs a big Tyreek Hill week. CrossFit is a 29 point favorite, I will not pick this one but please, I need this.

Bottom Bunk v. Daddy Wombat

v.

B.B. is bad again. He has Edmonds, Hendy, Corey Davis, Ridley, and Sterling Shepard. That is it. Daddy Wombat has Russ, Kamara, Rondale Moore, D-Hop, and Metcalf. If you look at the depth of each team, D.W. has the advantage. Which is tough for D.W., as they have no depth. Kamara should outscore both of B.B.’s backs. Hendy is questionable, so he may not be available when the week starts. While Ridley had some success, Corey Davis faces a tough Denver defense. And Zach Wilson is a rookie. He showed that last week. Metcalf is due for a breakout, why not this week. D.W. is a 15 point favorite in a low scoring game, D.W. by a landslide.

Teach v. Pistol

v.

Teach is looking to get back on track after a tough Week 2 matchup. Aaron Rodgers came to play, Mixon was ok, Carson, ok. Tyreek Hill, quiet, and Hockenson was great. D.J. Moore is also having a coming out party. Teach needs this for the yearlong success. Pistol won last week, which is not good for his draft hopes. But good things, Kyler Murray, Courtland Sutton, and Kyle Pitts. Even Michael Carter had some work last week. Now all that is great, but starting two tight ends is never great. I think the fire power of Teach is too great for Pistol. Teach is a 22 point favorite, Teach takes it.

Batman v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Batman is in a good one this week, 0-2 looking to take down the 1-1 Mush. Lamar is back, at least on the ground. Gaskin has a favorable matchup. Swift needs to start and takeover the backfield. Robert Woods has to get some of Cooper Kupp’s targets at some point. DeVonta Smith is going up against a division rival and will have his first taste of the NFC East. Waller, against the Miami team that may not have any offense. That just means more Waller time. Mush has had a rough go with his RBs. Gibby faces a Buffalo defense that is lights out. Clyde has a good matchup against the Chargers but the Chiefs love to throw the ball. Is Hollywood back? Will Deebo tear up the Green Bay secondary? Will A.B. have a bounce back game? A lot of questions for Mush, will he get his answers? Batman is an 11 point favorite, I think he gets it done this week, and gets his first win of the season.

Trashman v. Bruce

v.

Trashman has an easy two weeks. Bottom Bunk, now Bruce. Trashman saw Aaron Jones take over on Monday. Chubb is incredible. Allen Robinson has had a tough two weeks. Trashman needs someone else. Kenny G needs to play well, and so does Cordarrelle Patterson. Relying on Cordarrelle is an issue. Bruce has Zeke and Najee who showed out last week, Najee was TD dependent though. Godwin had a good week, Fournette is the RB1 for Tampa, and J.T. needs a bounce back. It will be a close one. Neither team really has wowed anyone so far. Bruce is a 6 point favorite, but I’m going to ride with the Trashman for the week.

Now some predictions. If you have a Charger or Chief on your roster, they are all must starts. Chargers v. Chiefs will result in endless fantasy points. All are must plays. Mike Evans has been up and down. I expect Ramsey to be on Evans for this weekend, that is a full go for Chris Godwin and Gronk. Gronk and Fournette are the sneaky plays here as we monitor whether or not AB will be cleared after being placed on the Covid reserve list today. Fournette appears to be the #1 and receives all the check down work. Divisional games, these turn out to be boom or busts. I think the Najee Harris and Joe Mixon matchup will be down. Pittsburgh has 3 offensive TDs this year. Steelers have a great defense. I think this will be a lot of ground and pound, and the opportunities will be there, but the end zone will be tough to find for both teams. The Washington Football team faces the Buffalo Bills, Gibby and McLaurin will have down weeks. Logan Thomas will be ok though.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 3 Picks

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.

Dr. Tilt was 1-2 to Week 2, 2-4 on the season.

From the desk of Dr. Tilt:

The Doc is back with his Week 3 prescription and after a rough start, this is the week we start making money, boys and girls (responsibly of course).

Ravens -7.5 @ Lions

After coming off a huge win against the Chiefs last weekend the Ravens are travelling to Detroit and looking to continue their momentum.  Is there a chance for a let down game from the Ravens? Sure.  But the Ravens feast on bad teams and the Doc expects them to cover with ease.  Ravens win by a few touchdowns.

Bears +7.5 @ Browns

Every Bears fan in the country is excited for this one as Justin Fields gets his first start, albeit due to a Dalton injury.  But this is his time to shine.  Even though he looked shaky last week and threw one of the worst picks you’ll ever see, look for the Bears to keep it tight.  Do we really trust the Browns yet after playing the poor defenses in Kansas City and Houston so far.  Bears keep it close in Cleveland and maybe even pull out the win.  Take the points.

Buccaneers @ Rams +1.5

The game of the weekend features the Super Bowl champs heading out west to LA.  People forget that Tom Brady typically feasted in the playoffs in Foxborough with home field advantage at his fingertips during his time in New England.  And last year during the playoffs never had to face a rowdy road environment.  Even though this is only week 3, it’ll feel like a playoff game on Sunday.  Look for the Rams to win this one outright in a back and forth battle that could be a NFC Championship Game preview.

Season Record: 1-2

Let’s dive into the Week 3 power rankings.

Sources informed me that Bottom Bunk scored under 100 points, AND lost to a team in a full rebuild. That puts B.B. in last. PeePaw had another let down week, that is why he drops so far. Kyler Murray, Sutton, and Gronk, that’s why Pistol moves up. Trashman had a good win, but this may be his ceiling this year. JD3, likely the odd man among the undefeated group after this week, but for now he gets to hang out near the top. CrossFit is in the driver’s seat.

Well, that does it for this week. Tomorrow we will see Texans Panthers tomorrow night to make you wanting Sunday to get here even more. Will JD3 pull off the biggest upset in PCDL History? See you on Tuesday to find out. Until then, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Recap

Good morning everyone, last week we had some stars show out, and this week some stars collapsed. Let’s take a look at the matchups, Dr. Tilt, predictions, and a quick check on rookies. Without further ado the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Game of the Week.

Touchdown Guy v. Teach

v.

This was a high scoring affair. The lead dog and the fifth best score of the week. TDG made the decision to bench Saquon, this move cost him 1.4 points. WOULD IT BE ENOUGH? Well, Derrick Henry showed everyone that he is as big as Josh Allen is tall. Henry scored 44 points. That is a lot of points for those keeping track at home. Elijah Mitchell had a modest day with 6. Melly put up almost 8 points. The Mikes had themselves a day, Evans added 22 and Williams added 18. Julio, Tim Patrick, and Thielen also has a combined almost 40 points. TDG also put up a goose egg in the kicking department. Teach needed points, would he get them? It would all come down to Monday night with Rodgers, Hockenson, and Crosby. Before we got there, Chris Carson scored 2 tds giving him 15 points. Van Jefferson was left out of the Rams offense only adding a single fantasy point. Tyreek Hill held to only 4 points. Production from Marvin Jones, Tee Higgins, and D.J. Moore helped, the trio combined for 45 points. Down big entering Monday night, Teach needed a miracle. Rodgers’ 40, Hockenson’s 16, and Crosby’s 5 were not enough. TDG wins big 167.25 to 141.35.

CrossFit v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Mush barely got a win last week, no way he lets his whole family down this week right? CrossFit had a roller coaster lineup. CMC for 22, Locket for 27, Cooper Kupp for 32, and Kelce for 20. CrossFit also had Dak for 12, Amari Cooper for 3, and Robbie Anderson for 5. The sneaky Austin Ekeler received his targets and put up an 18 spot. Overall a good team performance, but would some of those let down performances cost CrossFit the week? Mush had Hollywood put up 20, Deebo with 13, Diontae Johnson with 15, and Dan Carlson the kicker put up a crooked number of 17 points. Mush, known for his depth at RB, proved that depth is not talent. Clyde added 2, Gibby had 8, and Javonte added almost 8 points. Even a swap for Henry Ruggs III’s 20 spot would not have saved the week, CrossFit crushed Mush 166.45 to 128.2.

Pistol v. PeePaw

v.

Pistol is regarded as the worst team in the league. At least that is what we thought, even Pistol maybe. However, Pistol loaded up and Sutton was shot out of a cannon putting up 20 in the absence of Jeudy. Kyler Murray had 46 points, which is a lot. Gronk put up almost 18, and even Broadway Bob had a dozen points. PeePaw needed a win in the worst way. Pistol’s team going off did not help. PeePaw had a solid performance from Dalvin with 15 points, Adams added 16, Jefferson 15, and CeeDee with 13. The big concerns. Aiyuk had another dud week only putting up 2 points. Nelson Agholor added 3. A.J. Brown had 5. PeePaw is stacked at WR, but the stack needs to produce and back to back weeks they have failed. Pistol wins 151.4 to 112.75.

Daddy Wombats v. Bruce

v.

Someone had to win this game. D.W.’s superstar Alvin Kamara put up 5 points. In any other matchup this would be the end of the road for D.W., but going up against last year’s last place finisher, there was still light at the end of the tunnel. Two goose eggs, in Will Fuller V who was listed out earlier in the week, but for whatever reason, even after being told and confirming the information, D.W. still went with Fuller, and Gabriel Davis did not get a ball in the blow out. D-Hop added 13, and Rondale Moore had a Michael Jordan day adding 23 points. Bruce had two sweet sixteen performances with Zeke and Najee combining for 32 points. Chris Godwin added 14. J.T. only had 5, Chark had 2, and Joe Burrow only put up 18. Not having one of this top end superstar performances cost Bruce. D.W. wins in a thriller 106.19 to 105.95.

Trashman v. Bottom Bunk

v.

This was a battle at the bottom. B.B. telling everyone his team is legit, Trashman not saying a word. Who would win? Trashman saved it all for Monday night, needing Aaron Jones to have his best performance of the season to get by B.B., would he? Trevor Lawrence (the 4th overall pick in the rookie draft) put up 11. Peyton Barber 3, Juice Landry 1, Kenny G 5, and Bryan Edwards 5. All these things are bad. Nick Chubb added a safe 16 points. The shocker was Cordelle Patterson putting up 22 points. This positioned Trashman to need a night from Aaron Jones, and he got that, Jones put up 38 points. B.B.’s highest scorer was Calvin Ridley with 15.8 points. That is bad. That is worst team in the league bad. Darrell Hendy put up 15.7. JameO had 10, Edmonds had 10, Corey Davis 1, and Dallas Goedert 3. B.B. is back, in the worst way possible. Trashman bests B.B. 134.68 to 99.35.

Batman v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

In a battle like no other, Batman took on JD3 twice in one week. The other matchup does not pertain to this league, so it doesn’t count right? Batman only had two double digit scorers, Lamar with 38, and Noah Fant with 11. DeVonta Smith only had 2 and Laviska Shenault put up under a point. In fantasy touchdowns are important, Noah Fant was the only non-QB to find the endzone for Batman, and that would hurt him. JD3 was lead dog for the majority of the week. Terry McLaurin jumped out to a 22 point performance, Pittman added 16, Brandin Cooks added 18, Ja’Marr Chase with 12, Allen had 12, and Stefon Diggs put up 14. The running back room is a concern, Miles Sanders had 6, Kenyan Drake had 8. JD3 had more bench points from Devin Singletary than his starting RBs. It did not matter, JD3 wins 159.25 to 105.45.

Predictions were off. D-Hop, Keenan, and Davante all had ok weeks, double digit weeks between 12-16. Kelce went off for another 20 spot, Waller was missing a touchdown but still had 9. Off on Zeke who put up 16, and had a slightly above average week for a top back. And the Vikings somehow all performed well this week. Missed on the big weeks, missed on the busts. Oops, hopefully Dr. Tilt did better.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt’s Week 2 picks.

Dr. Tilt Week 2 Picks

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Dr. Tilt was 1-2 to Week 1.

Week 2 Picks:

New York Giants @ Washington Football Team (-3)

Nope.

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers (o55.5)

Nope.

Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks (o 53.5)

Yes.

Week 2: 1-2

Season Record: 2-4

Let’s take a quick look at some of the rookies in the Rookie Recap.

Concerns for DeVonta Smith and the offense he is a part of. No concern over Rondale Moore and the stacked receiving core in Arizona. Ja’Marr is good for one bomb. Pitts is just right. Najee had a bounce back week, but 10 for 38 is a bad rushing stat line for what you want out of him. Michael Carter had a sneaky week. Lawrence, Fields, Sermon, and Waddle, not great. Etienne still on IR. Williams was ok, he gets 10 plus touches a game so you are ok. Trey Lance, well he’s still on the pine. Elijah Mitchell was ok, injury could be a concern going forward. Kenny Gainwell is involved so that’s good long term. Overall, a welcome to the NFL rookie week.

That’s it for Week 2. We have 3 teams unbeaten, Touchdown Guy, CrossFit, and JonnyDIII. At least 1 will remain undefeated next week. You will have to tune in tomorrow to find out who. I expect a lot of movement on the power rankings. Some bad teams lost bad, and some good teams lost their second chance. Until next time, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Preview

Good morning everyone, we have Week 2 of the Pot Cakes Dynasty League. Will this week answer questions, or will it be a letdown. We have some big injuries in Jeudy and Mostert that teams will have to fight through. Depth has been a concern for some teams, but some teams made savvy moves early that may pay off in the long haul. Let’s dive right in to our Week 2 (unsponsored) game of the Week.

Touchdown Guy v. Teach

v.

TDG would have been last week’s game of the week if not for the last minute schedule change. TDG was lucky with the injury bug, Elijah Mitchell is a must start. TDG followed the Top 65 Rookie rankings and grabbed Mitchell at the end of the 3rd. TDG has the Tall Josh Allen and Melvin Gordon who both look to have continued success. The question is if Derrick Henry can bounce back. The same goes for Mike Evans, Evans should have a decent shot going against the Falcons, if he cannot get right with this matchup, then we have a problem. The sneaky play is how Tim Patrick will play this week. No Jeudy, so either Ham God or Tim Patrick will have to step up. Teach is looking to hand out a lesson this week. Will he do it? Teach needs Rodgers in the worst way. Starting Van Jefferson is an interesting decision, but he and the Rams showed a lot Week 1. Mixon looks to be a stud, Hill stud, and Hockenson stud. The in-betweeners need to also have great weeks. Marvin Jones, Tee Higgins, and Jaylen Waddle. Right now TDG is a Favre favorite. TDG not starting Saquon will either make or break this week, the same goes for Teach and Latavius Murray (who scored last week). I think he still pulls it out, the injury bug bit in his favor and I think TDG pulls it out.

CrossFit v. Mush’s Mongrel

v.

Dak is all the way back, and so are injuries for CrossFit. Mostert is hurt and Ekeler’s receptions are hurt in the new offense. CMC was the RB1 last week, without a TD. I do not see that happening often, CMC scores a lot. Mike Davis is enough. Lockett and Amari Cooper Kupp all had insane week 1s. I think that keeps happening, or at least decent production. Mush had a good week 1. Deebo put on for the Mongrels. AB returned to his old form. Gesicki was icky, but the rest of the team were slightly above average to get it done week 1. That, WILL NOT WORK against CrossFit, he put up the PR of the season and is looking to repeat. CrossFit is a 30 point favorite, it’s over for Mush.

Pistol v. PeePaw

v.

Kyler Murray might be the highest scoring player in fantasy football this year. He was week 1 at least and my goodness did the Cards look good as they flushed the Titans. Pistol needs James Robinson to bounce back for trade purposes. Pistol also needs Sutton to get more targets. Sutton is going to be a key part of the rebuild. Pitts, well he’s getting targets, if he can figure it out as the season goes on, Year 2 will be lights out. PeePaw is looking to bounce back from Week 1. The injury bug has stalled his start. Irv Smith, Jeff Wilson, Gus Edwards, Rashaad Penny, Trey Sermon, and even Brandon Aiyuk. While some are injuries and others are the 49ers making you earn your keep, it’s all bad for PeePaw. The good news is Dalvin and Montgomery are rock solid. Monty is also in a revenge game, Pistol having traded PeePaw Monty for a first and Michael Carter. Adams, Agholor, Lamb, Jefferson, A.J. Brown, I mean I cannot mention this WR core enough. The interesting play is Zach Pascal, we do not know who the WR1 is for the Colts, it’s either Pittman or Pascal, one of these guys should takeover at some point. PeePaw has another week to figure things out, he’s a 26 point favorite, I’ll take PeePaw and Pistol will take a step closer to Pick 1.01.

Daddy Wombats v. Bruce

v.

D.W. lost week 1. He faced arguably one of the best teams in this league and in the world. He should get a fairer shake this week. Russ is still cooking. Kamara looks good, Metcalf started slow but finished good, and D-Hop sheesh. Jeudy is on the IR. Good news is that D.W. saw production from Gabriel Davis and Rondale Moore. Will Fuller is back. The big problem is Gio Bernard, that’s the RB2. The loss of Jeudy paired with Gio is a spell for disaster. Bruce is all juice. He is looking to cleanse the Week 1 loss. Zeke and Harris were so bad week 1. I heard a rumor that the Cowboys had 28 running plays called and Dak checked out of half of them. That is bad for Zeke. Harris, well the o-line is a huge concern, and they played the Bills D. Maybe he has a better showing against the Raiders who gave up a handful of big plays to the Ravens Week 1. Chark and Godwin both had great week 1s. The problem for Bruce is that an overview of his team, he doesn’t really have the big breakout guys. He just has a lot of solid players. While this will keep things competitive, will it win the week? Bruce is a 3 point favorite but I’m rolling with my dogs in D.W.

Trashman v. Bottom Bunk

v.

Trashman made the first bad decision of the year in starting Zack Moss. Aaron Jones was bad, Allen Robinson was bad, and Mark Andrews was bad. The good news for Trashman is his team can’t stay trash. Kenny G had a solid week 1 showing, which is promising because people had doubts. Bryan Edwards also had a solid Monday night which gives him some youth going forward. Chubb and Jones should both have good weeks. Add Allen Robinson against the Bengals, and I think Trashman has a mini bounce back. B.B. was electric last week, but I think the shock runs out. Edmonds and Hendy did just enough, I think B.B. should explore some trades while the iron is still hot. Jamaal Williams also had a monstrous week. With Swift nursing an injury, Williams will continue to see a lot of work. Kirk and Shepard also went off. I do not see all these things happening again. Calvin Ridley had a bad week, and with this Falcons offense, that may be a consistent theme. B.B. will be a slight underdog this week. I think the firepower between Jones and Chubb is enough to hold off B.B.’s hot start, I’ll throw B.B. in the trash this week and recycle a pick against B.B., I’m going with Trashman.

Batman v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

Batman and JD3 were a potential game of the week. Last year these two battled for the bottom. This year they both look to compete. Batman has Swift, Woods, and Waller. Waller is an absolute monster. Robert Woods also looked great. DeVonta Smith could continue on his success. Lamar needs to pull through in this dual against Pat Mahomes. JD3 had a nice performance from Miles Sanders in Week 1. Devin Singletary seems to have the backfield to himself. JD3 has Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Terry McLaurin, none of which had a big week. All performed well, but how long can those three stay quiet. I think it’s a big week for Keenan Allen. I won’t pick this one, but JD3 is a 5 point favorite.

It’s a great week to have a big name receiver, D-Hop, Keenan, and Davante all have great matchups. If you have Travis Kelce, and watched Darren Waller, I think you know Kelce is going to be big this week. I think Zeke is bad or at least very average again this week. I’m also worried about the Vikings going against Arizona. The Cards shut down Tennessee, who I think has a better offense than the Vikings. Kirk is worse than Tannehill. These are all issues if you want Theilen, JJ, or Cook to go off.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 2 Picks

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.

Dr. Tilt was 1-2 to Week 1.

From the desk of Dr. Tilt:

As of September 12th 2021 Dr. Tilt has officially disavowed the Atlanta Falcons.   Dr. Tilt was led to believe that a change in coaching staff, the drafting of Kyle Pitts, and playing a team in salary cap hell at home in week 1 would change the narrative.  It did not.  The Atlanta Falcons will not be picked for the rest of the 2021 NFL Season regardless if they end up going 16-1.  Betting the Atlanta Falcons is a sickness and Dr. Tilt should have known better from last season’s impressive 57% win rate in which the Falcons spurned the doc plenty of times.  If you, the readers, choose to take the +12.5 on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week please do so in private.  This is a responsible gambling blog and betting the Atlanta Falcons is irresponsible until further notice.  Dr. Tilt will be taking no questions at this time.

Week 2 Picks:

New York Giants @ Washington Football Team (-3)

Taylor Heinicke vs Daniel Jones in primetime on Thursday Night Football.  You can already hear the disgust in Troy Aikman’s voice as he watches two bottom tier quarterbacks duel it out on a short week.  This line opened at WFT as 4.5 point favorites and has been bet down to 3.  The analysis here isn’t that robust it’s quite simple.  First, fade the public New York money coming in as the move from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Taylor Heinicke shouldn’t be that severe.  Second, this game likely looks a whole lot like last week for the Giants.  They are playing pre-season voted top tier defense again and likely will struggle to put up points (13 total in week 1) with only 1 Daniel Jones turnover.  Expect more of the same and start week 2 off right with an easy cover.

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers (o55.5)

Dr. Tilt rode the Dallas Cowboys over train early in the season last year until Dak Prescott got hurt.  The reason last weeks over (which hit) against Tampa Bay wasn’t on the prescription was because of the uncertainty of what Dak would look like coming off the year long injury.  Well, the verdict is in, against a pre-season top 10 defense Dak looked better than ever, and the Cowboys “improved” defense didn’t look that improved.  Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense was slowed at times against a good WFT defense in week 1 but that won’t be a problem this week.  Expect both teams in the 30’s scoring wise.

Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks (o 53.5)

Ryan Tannehill is likely still having nightmares about Chandler Jones who racked up 5 sacks in week 1.  The front 7 of Arizona had a wonderful showing in week 1 against the Titans but in film study the Titans made a lot of mistakes and didn’t help themselves either.  Seattle’s defense did pick up where it left off to end the season against the Colts but I wouldn’t expect the same showing from their front 7 as you got from the Cardinals.  Expect the Titan’s 4th ranked (2020 DVOA) offense to find better rhythm in week 2.  On the flip side of the ball the Titans defense is still a major work in progress.  Kyler Murray eviscerated them and who’s the only other QB that can play a similar style to Kyler in creating time and throwing the ball down the field?  You guessed it, Russel Wilson.  No worries from the doc about Seattle scoring points at home in front of the 12th man for the first time in 18+ months.  Expect points early and often and if you’re feeling a little DangerRuss parlay the over with the Seahawks -4.5.

Season Record: 1-2

Let’s dive into the Week 2 power rankings.

Now, I know what everyone is thinking. Why is PeePaw #3 with a loss, and why is B.B. #11 with a win. It’s easy, PeePaw still has the best receiving core in the game, and B.B. still has a roster full of backups. PeePaw needs to prove he stinks and B.B. needs to prove he’s good. That’s all it is. B.B. is facing the #10 team this week, another big win and he should shoot up the rankings. PeePaw is going against the last ranked team, so he needs to put up big time numbers to keep his rank.

That does it for this week. I need to adjust my sleep schedule, these late Thursday and Monday night games really throw you off. All the stress, excitement, and all late at night, really puts you behind on your sleep. So rest up, we got a big night tomorrow. Let’s see how things shake out. We will see you on Tuesday with the recap, and until then I hope you and yours have better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Recap

Good morning everyone, what an exciting first week of the NFL season. The Pot Cakes Dynasty League had a little bit of everything this week. Breakouts, injuries, bench points, goose eggs, and most importantly fun. Let’s take a look at how the games went starting with our (unsponsored) game of the week.

CrossFit v. PeePaw

v,

The first game of the week was not disappointing. The lead dog was in this matchup. Unfortunately for PeePaw, it was CrossFit. Dak was incredible in the season opener, adding a smooth 41 points paired with Amari Coopers 32. That is one way to start the season for CrossFit. CMC is back with 23, and Ekeler, despite early week hammy concerns came through with 11 points. Tyler Lockett had his typical boom week with 24 and Kelce put up 22. CrossFit has an injury concern with Mostert, Mostert went down with a knee injury. The 49ers are known to ride the hot hand, so Mostert could find himself at the bottom of the rotation. PeePaw had a rough week. Cook put up 17, Lamb 21, and Justin Jefferson had 10. Early Sunday Trey Sermon was a healthy scratch, causing PeePaw to put Tyrell Williams in his lineup. This leaves Pascall and Agholor with solid bench points. However, it would not have mattered. The big concerns are Davante only having 8 and Aiyuk having 0.7 points. I am not sure what is going on there, but those two should have been sure things. PeePaw drops the opener 127.15 to 210.75.

Touchdown Guy v. Bruce

v.

Touchdown Guy continues his winning streak. TDG has the longest active winning streak in the PCDL. Josh Allen was ok with 25, Melvin Gordon surprised with 19, Thielen had 25, and Mike Williams added 18. The surprising performance was Derrick Henry and Saquon having 9 and 3 points. These two have to put up 15 points a week for TDG to make his run. Luckily for TDG he faced a team with similar problems. Bruce had Godwin with 19, Chark with 16, and JT with 14. Bruce’s first pick in the draft was Zeke who had 4 points and pick 1.01 of the rookie draft was Najee Harris who added 5 points. Having top tier RBs is important, but if they do not perform close to their average, your team is going to lose. That is exactly what happened. TDG wins a close one 124 to 118.

Pistol v. Bottom Bunk

v.

This is the game for first pick. I think Pistol is comfortable with where his team is at. The guys that will be part of his rebuild did alright. Murray had 46, Hunt had 15, and Pitts had 8 targets but only added 5 points. The biggest miss for Pistol is that James Robinson only added 6 points. Other concerns are Sutton’s 1 point and Gage’s zero points. The trade market does not look good when these guys don’t perform. Bottom Bunk on the other hand went off. JameO went off for 42, Edmonds had a respectable 12, Jamaal Williams had 21, Corey Davis 24, Kirk had 21, and Sterling Shepard added 20. The weird thing was that Calvin Ridley only had 7 points. BB also saw David Johnson get touches. Which no one saw coming. BB won the game he shouldn’t but maybe some of these players stay relevant and can help BB’s rebuild. BB pulls off his first (and only?) win of the season, 197.1 to 112.

Batman v. Teach

v.

This was the game that gave us hope. Batman entered Monday with a chance to win, could he pull it off? D’Andre Swift showed out having 20 points, DeVonta Smith added 16, and Gaskin put up a solid 10 week 1. Lamar and Waller put up a combined 45 points for Monday night. Was it enough? Teach had a handful of guys go off to make up for Rodgers miserable 4 points. Mixon had a Jordan, Hill added 31, Hock put up 18, and even Jaylen Waddle added 14. Starting Latavius Murray was a reach seeing as he had like two days to learn the Ravens offense. Murray got in the end zone. It paid off, well at least his other starts did. Lamar needed to come up big and he was a letdown. Teach wins a the Monday night showdown 160.85 to 146.45.

Trashman v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Week 1 of the NFL season and Trashman failed to check his lineup before kickoff. Zack Moss was OUT, and put up 0 points for Trashman. However, the Browns in Chubb and Juice paired up for 38 points. Trevor Lawrence, the most controversial rookie pick at 1.04 added 31 points which is a good start and something I think most would take for the QB slot. Aaron Jones flopped like all Packers adding only 3 points. Mush had some big hitters. Antonio Brown showed out on Thursday night adding 21 points. Deebo also put up 27 points. Gesicki had 0 and Parris Campbell 2 were bad weeks for Mush. But Jacobs really saved the day putting up a sweet 16 even while dinged up all night. The good news is that Reagor had a day on Mush’s bench, putting up 15 points. That’s promising considering all the question marks Mush has with his young WR team. Mush got away with one 162.55 to 117.6. Check your rosters people.

Daddy Wombat v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

This game had some ups and downs. DW opened with Gio Bernard and 2 points on Thursday. De’Andre Hopkins showed everyone why he’s a top 5 receiver adding 23 points. Kamara put up 16, and Jeudy added 10. Jeudy did suffer an ankle sprain and it would not surprise me to see him go on the IR or PUP early this week. Good news for DW is that Gabrial Davis and Rondale Moore both saw action adding 23 combined points. JonnyDIII had all but his QB go at the noon kickoff. Ja’Marr Chase added 18, Sanders and Cooks put up 15 each, and Terry McLaurin had an 8 point second half after being shutout in the first. Luckily for JD3, Mahomes had to do some last second heroics and put up 45 which was enough to put make it too big of a lead to give up. JD3 wins 167.25 to 150.58.

Two for three on predictions, James Rob was bad, but so was Ridley and Tyrell Williams. The surprise breakouts were the rookie WRs.

Now let’s look at Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 1 Picks

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons (-3)

Nope.

San Francisco 49ers (-7.5) @ Detroit Lions

Yup.

Green Bay Packers (-4) @ New Orleans Saints (being played in Jacksonville)

Nope.

Dr. Tilt is 1-2 to start the year.

Before we end it, let’s take a look at the Rookie Recap.

Pick 1.01 – Najee Harris – RB – Pittsburg Steelers – 5.4 points

Pick 1.02 – Ja’Marr Chase – WR – Cincinnati Bengals – 18.4 points

Pick 1.03 – Travis Etienne – RB – Jacksonville Jaguars – IR

Pick 1.04 – Trevor Lawrence – QB – Jacksonville Jaguars – 31.2 points

Pick 1.05 – Javonte Williams – RB – Denver Broncos – 4.6 points

Pick 1.06 – Kyle Pitts – TE – Atlanta Falcons – 5.1 points

Pick 1.07 – DeVonta Smith – WR – Philadelphia Eagles – 16.1 points

Pick 1.08 – Justin Fields – QB – Chicago Bears – 7 points

Pick 1.09 – Jaylen Waddle – WR – Miami Dolphins – 14.1 points

Pick 1.10 – Rondale Moore – WR – Arizona Cardinals – 12.08 points

Pick 1.11 – Trey Sermon – RB – San Francisco 49ers – OUT

Pick 1.12 – Michael Carter – RB – New York Jets – 2.5 points

Pick 1.13 – Trey Lance – QB – San Francisco 49ers – 6.55 points

If you drafted a rookie wide receiver in the first round you are super happy, Chase, Smith, Waddle, and Moore all had great games. Najee Harris was a big time let down, the Steelers o-line (check Top 65 rankings) is a huge concern. Lawrence can be start any week, he and the Jags were down against the Texans, no way they win a game this year. Javonte got some work, but Melly went off. If the Broncos keep winning, I think they keep riding Melly. Fields and Lance both got some work, and as long plays that is reassuring. Trey Sermon being a healthy scratch is very concerning. I would be very worried. Pitts and Michael Carter are also long plays, so some involvement is better than none. I’m just worried about the Falcons as a whole.

While those were the first round picks, let’s look at some steals. Some of the big hitters were Terrance Marshall – WR – Carolina Panthers, Anthony Schwartz – WR – Cleveland Browns, Larry Rountree III – RB – Los Angeles Chargers, Kenneth Gainwell – RB – Philadelphia Eagles, and Elijah Mitchell – RB – San Francisco 49ers. Elijah Mitchell is going to be the big time hitter this year. Unfortunately, Raheem Mostert is out for the remainder of the year. TDG followed the Top 65 and took Mitchell at pick 38, his rank was 39th. Others reached early, maybe even as early as pick 1.01 and now are having issues with points.

Well that does it for the first week of the season. CrossFit showed he’s the real deal and Bottom Bunk surprised a lot of people. Pistol, well he did what he and everyone else expected. The other teams are still figuring things out, seeing both breakouts and misses. Finding that balance is what is important for having a complete season. I think if you are PeePaw you see that you just missed some things, and after seeing how week 1 played out he can adjust his lineup. Plus, he’s not going to play CrossFit every week. For some of the other teams, big time names didn’t show up, you have to think that changes going forward. But if it doesn’t, then the old trade generator will have to get looked at to see what moves can be made to salvage a season. I will see you all tomorrow to look at the Week 2 Preview.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Preview

Good morning everyone, we made it, Week 1 of the NFL is about to be underway. The Pot Cakes Dynasty League is geared up for the second season. The coveted trophy is in the hands of Touchdown Guy (well if Mush would get it together already, I mean what is the guy even doing, is he switching up the schedule so a guy has to rewrite the whole week 1 preview again?). Anyways here we are, we have our game of the week, all our matchups, fantasy studs, and our projected season rankings. Let’s dive in with our (unsponsored) game of the week.

CrossFit v. PeePaw

v.

What a way to kick off Week 1. This matchup has potential to have one of the championship teams. These two teams are absolutely stacked. If we break it down by position it goes: QB – RB – TE CrossFit, WRs – K PeePaw. It’s a WR league and PeePaw’s projection barely edges out CrossFit. PeePaw is going with vet Big Ben, Dalvin Cook, David Monty, Adams, Jefferson, A.J. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, and Brandon Aiyuk. My goodness that’s a good group of guys. Missing from that core into, is Gus Edwards. This could be the biggest sleeper of PeePaw’s team due to the unfortunate injury of J.K. Dobbins. PeePaw made two huge moves this offseason to get Dalvin Cook and David Montgomery. These two RBs must be high scorers for PeePaw to compete with CrossFit. CrossFit barely edges out PeePaw at RB because of CMC and pass catcher Austin Ekeler. CrossFit is also hoping Dak is back, it’s interesting that he’s choosing Dake over TB12 in the Thursday night matchup, but who am I to judge? Kelce at tight end is geared up for another TE1 season. Lockett and Amari Cooper Kupp will need to all be the WR1 of their team to compete with PeePaws team, which is not out of the question, but is a stretch nonetheless. The projections barely favor PeePaw, it is 159 to 153. This game will be something to watch. I think PeePaw barely wins just because of his depth.

Touchdown Guy v. Bruce

v.

Now, TDG does not get the game of the week, but we have to talk about him right away. Stacks on stacks, he has is RB back. Saquon is enough for TDG to make a repeat. Derrick Henry and Saquon is a scary duo. The tall Josh Allen will oversee the reigns of another playoff push. Julio, Thielen, and Mike Evans make up for an aging receiving core, but are all great guys to have if you want to win now. Oh, George Kittle too. (Insert hot face tongue out emoji) Bruce on the other hand has great RB depth, but the buck stops there. Zeke, JT, and Damien Harris all have tough matchups. That is not great if you want to take down the champ. Najee will be exciting to watch. TDG is favored 153 to 137, and TDG wins week 1.

Pistol v. Bottom Bunk

v.

Pistol is looking to rebuild. Bottom Bunk is looking to rebuild. Who will win this bottom of the barrel matchup? Pistol has Murray, B.B. has Winston. Pistol has Hunt and James Rob, B.B. has Edmonds and Hendy. Pistol has Courland Sutton and Russell Gage, B.B. has Corey Davis and Ridley. Pistol has Tonyan and Pitts, B.B. has Goedert and Justin Tucker. It will be a bloodbath. B.B. is the slight favorite 126 to 122. I think the big difference will be Murray and Hunt being under valued in projections right now. I think Pistol will end up winning just because his guys are more proven. B.B. should be happy losing, but it wouldn’t shock me if things go wrong and he ends up winning. Give me Pistol in a musket shootout.

Batman v. Teach

v.

Batman is looking to bounce back from a disappointing year 1. So is Lamar Jackson, if he’s back so is Batman. Gaskin is primed to be the Dolphins RB1 despite offseason rumors and fantasy experts giving up on him. D’Andre Swift is fighting a hammy injury that hopefully does not hurt his fantasy protection. We also have Bob Woods the vet, and Laviska Shenault who is a projected breakout candidate. Darren Waller does not need much introduction, but he is the WR1 for the Raiders as a TE and should be a monster this year. Teach has Rodgers and Mixon who are both on revenge tours. Different reasons, but both have a lot to prove this year. Tyreek Hill and Tee Higgins make up the WR core for Teach, add Hockenson to the mix and we have a nice little dual for the weekend. Batman is a 4 point favorite, 141 to 137, and I think he does it. The school year just started and Teach is still in syllabus week.

Trashman v. Mush’s Mongrels

v.

Weird that Mush opens with a home game. And like Drake, Mush is upset, well on upset alert at least. Trashman has high end RBs, in Aaron Jones and Nick Chub, Mush has the depth in Clyde Frog, Gibby, and Jacobs. Trashman has the solid 1 in A-Rob, upside in Curty Sam, and unwanted players in Kenny G. and Landry. Mush has a bunch of young guys in Deebo, Dionte, and Parris Campbell, and the vets in OBJ and A.B. It will be interesting to see how all these guys shake out this year. Trashman has the clear edge at tight end, Mark Andrews. Andrews should get a lot of early targets with Bateman out for the first few weeks. Mush is a 4 point fave at 137 to 133, but I’m taking the dog in Trashman.

Daddy Wombat v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

v.

I am (re)writing this, but I am smiling ear to ear. Daddy Wombat is the healthiest he will be all year right now, BUT the depth is concerning. D.W. has Russ, Kamara, D-Hop, Metcalf, Claypool, and Jeudy. But he also has Gio Bernard, Will Fuller, and Gabe Davis in his starting lineup. That is not good. JD3 has Pat Mahomes, Miles Sanders, Keenan Allen, Diggs, McLaurin, and rookie sensation (please catch the ball) Ja’Marr Chase. JD3 has the best odds out of any week 1 matchup. I cannot pick this game, but it is tough to see a situation where JD3 doesn’t start off the season hot hot hot.

The one guy I’m looking for this week is how James Robinson does. On the other side of things I’m worried about Calvin Ridley in this Falcons offense. I never felt great about a Detroit WR, and that is what Ridley feels like to me this year.

Before we dive into the Projected Rankings, we have some words from Dr. Tilt.

Dr. Tilt Week 1 Picks

Again ***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Dr. Tilt. has his prescription for the week.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons (-3)

A week 1 battle of the birds you say?  The Falcons had the 4th worst record in the league last year, used a top 5 pick in the draft on a tight end and traded away one of the greatest players in their franchise history in Julio Jones and Dr. Tilt is still telling you to pick them.  Why you say?  Because Dan Quinn’s gone, and the Eagles have more dead money than anyone else in the league.  Falcons win comfortably at home in week 1.

San Francisco 49ers (-7.5) @ Detroit Lions

A pro-tip from Dr. Tilt early in the season is try and identify who you think will be the worst teams in the NFL for the year.  If you pick correctly most likely the lines will be a few points lower than what they would be a few weeks from now when everyone else picks up on the same things.  The Detroit Lions are going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL and (for the time being) the bad luck of injuries hasn’t ravaged the 49ers (yet).  San Francisco by two touchdowns and we’ll be seeing the Lions as double digits dogs very soon.

Green Bay Packers (-4) @ New Orleans Saints (being played in Jacksonville)

The line moved from -3.5 to -4 by moving from New Orleans to Jacksonville.  If this was in the dome down in the Bayou you would not be receiving this pick.  However, throw in a hurricane, have essentially road games for both teams, Jameis back as a starter in Florida, and Aaron Rodgers somehow with a chip on his shoulder even though he was the a**hole all summer a half point line movement isn’t enough.  There’s value to be had in that alone.  Everything happening in and to New Orleans is incredibly sad.  Thus, bet on the Packers this weekend and donate some of the winnings to a charity that supports the people affected by hurricane Ida.

That does it from Dr. Tilt.

Here are the power rankings for Week 1.

Well that does it for the Week 1 preview. It should be an exciting year. Lots of exciting matchups as the season goes on. The first week is always a great time, you have all this hope for some of your guys and now we get to see if it works out. Maybe you find a guy or two you try and make a move to sure up some of your weaker roster spots. Either way, this is the greatest time of your life. Maybe not, maybe some of you just has a major life event during a tropical vacation. For some of you maybe this is what you have been waiting for. Either way, let’s get after it and best of luck in fantasy this year. And on top of fantasy I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League 2021 Roster Review

Good morning everyone, before the Week 1 Recap for the Pot Cakes Dynasty League drops, I think it is important to take a look at the teams rosters prior to final roster construction. Rosters can have a total of 25 players, but those last 5 players must be in the “taxi” eligible spots. Taxi eligibility is for a 1st or 2nd year play, or a player that is on the IR/PUP/Covid list. Examples of taxi eligible players are; Najee Harris, Justin Jefferson, and Michael Thomas. If a player comes off of that IR/PUP/Covid, or if you want to start one of your taxi players, you can only replace the taxi spot with another taxi eligible player. Fun stuff right, let’s dive in to each manager’s roster. Starting Rosters include 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1RB/WR/TE, 1RB/WR, 1WR/TE, K 11 spots.

Touchdown Guy

Projected Starters:

Josh Allen – QB – Buffalo Bills

Derrick Henry – RB – Tennessee Titans

Saquon Barkley – RB – New York Giants

Melvin Gordon – RB – Denver Broncos

Mike Evans – WR – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Julio Jones – WR – Tennessee Titans

Adam Thielen – WR – Minnesota Vikings

Mike Williams – WR – Los Angeles Chargers

Marquez Callaway – WR – New Orleans Saints

George Kittle – TE – San Francisco 49ers

Jason Sanders – K – Miami Dolphins

Notable Bench Players:

Armon-Ra St. Brown – WR – Detroit Lions

Carlos Hyde – RB – Jacksonville Jaguars

Anthony Miller – WR – Houston Texans

Kirk Cousins – QB – Minnesota Vikings

DeSean Jackson – WR – Los Angeles Chargers

TDG has a top heavy lineup, and not much depth. Players to watch are Armon-Ra St. Brown and Marquez Callaway and how they are both used in their offenses. TDG also gets Saquon back, he won without him last year. So that addition should also provide for a solid weekly production to boost his team in a needed area. If TDG can avoid the injury bug, his weekly lineup will be tough to beat. TDG is at worst the 4th place team this year, and an early favorite to get back to the championship.

PeePaw

Projected Starters:

Ben Rothlisberger – QB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Dalvin Cook – RB – Minnesota Vikings

David Montgomery – RB – Chicago Bears

Gus Edwards – RB – Baltimore Ravens

Davante Adams – WR – Green Bay Packers

A.J. Brown – WR – Tennessee Titans

Justin Jefferson – WR – Minnesota Vikings

CeeDee Lamb – WR – Dallas Cowboys

Brandon Aiyuk – WR – San Francisco 49ers

Jonnu Smith – TE – New England Patriots

Tyler Bass – K – Buffalo Bills

Notable Bench Players:

Zach Wilson – QB – New York Jets

Mac Jones – QB – New England Patriots

Irv Smith, Jr. – TE – Minnesota Vikings

Rashaad Penny – RB – Seattle Seahawks

Tyrell Williams – WR – Detroit Lions

PeePaw invested in two good running backs in the offseason, and these moves probably make him the favorite for the #1 spot this year. Like Touchdown Guy, PeePaw has a great starting lineup, but has questions at depth. The biggest question is the balancing act at QB, does Big Ben have one last year, or will PeePaw have to move on to the rookie QBs at some point to create more roster flexibility? That is his big question this year, but his starters are primed for a deep fantasy run, with a floor for 3rd place, and the ceiling is the roof.

Daddy Wombat

Projected Starters:

Russel Wilson – QB – Seattle Seahawks

Alvin Kamara – RB – New Orleans Saints

Giovani Bernard – RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

DeAndre Hopkins – WR – Arizona Cardinals

D.K. Metcalf – WR – Seattle Seahawks

Chase Claypool – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers

Jerry Jeudy – WR – Denver Broncos

Gabriel Davis – WR – Buffalo Bills

Will Fuller, V – WR – Miami Dolphins (suspended Week 1)

Tyler Higbee – TE – Los Angeles Rams

Rodrigo Blankenship – K – Indianapolis Colts

Notable Bench Players:

Jalen Hurts – QB – Philadelphia Eagles

Todd Gurley – RB – Free Agent

Denzel Mims – WR – New York Jets

Rondale Moore – WR – Arizona Cardinals

D.W. has issues with their RB2 spot and their last flex. D.W. also has Flex depth issues. Gio Bernard as a starting RB is a concern, but with some of these RB injuries, the scenario for Todd Gurley to get back into the NFL is more likely. But, Gurley’s role will likely be limited in any situation. D.W. had a strong showing early in the year due to Russ cooking, but who will cook early for them this year? D.W. has a shot at the playoffs, but a championship run is likely out of the question.

Teach

Projected Starters:

Aaron Rodgers – QB – Green Bay Packers

Joe Mixon – RB – Cincinnati Bengals

Chris Carson – RB – Seattle Seahawks

Latavius Murray – RB – New Orleans Saints

Tyreek Hill – WR – Kansas City Chiefs

D.J. Moore – WR – Carolina Panthers

Tee Higgins – WR – Cincinnati Bengals

Marvin Jones – WR – Jacksonville Jaguars

Jaylen Waddle – WR – Miami Dolphins

T.J. Hockenson – TE – Detroit Lions

Mason Crosby – K – Green Bay Packers

Notable Bench Players:

Trey Lance – QB – San Francisco 49ers

A.J. Green – WR – Arizona Cardinals

Rhamondre Stevenson – RB – New England Patriots

Tony Pollard – RB – Dallas Cowboys

Josh Reynolds – WR – Tennessee Titans

Teach has a pretty good squad this year. Rodgers being back keeps Teach in the mix. Mixon and Carson need to stay healthy to give Teach a shot at the title. Some worry with Teach’s WR depth, but Hill and Moore should give him enough production to allow the remaining guys to combine for good weeks. Teach is a sleeper, he has some potential on his bench. Stevenson and Pollard both could see more work this year allowing for Teach to maybe have some stability later on in the year. I like Teach to settle in somewhere between 4th and 2nd this year, as an outside contender.

CrossFit

Projected Starters:

Tom Brady – QB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Christian McCaffrey – RB – Carolina Panthers

Raheem Mostert – RB – San Francisco 49ers

Austin Ekeler – RB – Los Angeles Chargers

Mike Davis – RB – Atlanta Falcons

Tyler Lockett – WR – Seattle Seahawks

Robby Anderson – WR – Carolina Panthers

Cooper Kupp – WR – Los Angeles Rams

Amari Cooper – WR – Dallas Cowboys

Travis Kelce – TE – Kansas City Chiefs

Joey Slye – K – Free Agent

Notable Bench Players:

Dak Prescott – QB – Dallas Cowboys

Justin Fields – QB – Chicago Bears

Telvin Coleman – RB – New York Jets

Cole Beasley – WR – Buffalo Bills

Jamison Crowder – WR – New York Jets

CrossFit has a good looking team. Mostert and Mike Davis provide some one year highlights for him. CMC is back this year. Kelce is a monster. The WR core does not have any huge names, but a lot of WR2 guys, Lockett, Anderson, Kupp, and Cooper. CrossFit is like Teach, an outside contender that can make a run at the title. Floor is fourth. He also has plug and play guys on his bench, which will help during his bye weeks. Sneaky player to watch is Telvin Coleman and how much work he gets for the Jets. CrossFit is lacking young depth, so he has to capitalize on his title shot now.

Bottom Bunk

Projected Starters:

Tua Tagovailoa – QB – Miami Dolphins

Chase Edmonds – RB – Arizona Cardinals

Darrell Henderson – RB – Los Angeles Rams

David Johnson – RB – Houston Texans

Corey Davis – WR – New York Jets

Calvin Ridley – WR – Atlanta Falcons

Christian Kirk – WR – Arizona Cardinals

T.Y. Hilton – WR – Indianapolis Colts (Currently Out)

Sterling Shepard – WR – New York Giants

Dallas Goedert – TE – Philadelphia Eagles

Justin Tucker – K – Baltimore Ravens

Notable Bench Players:

Malcom Brown – RB – Miami Dolphins

J.D. McKissic – RB – Washington Football Team

Phillip Lindsay – RB – Houston Texans

Jamaal Williams – RB – Detroit Lions

Deshaun Watson – QB – Houston Texans

You’ll note that B.B. is made up of backups. Then you will wonder how he made the playoffs last year. Corey Davis and Calvin Ridley are the highlights of the team. But that is it. His whole team is made up of RBs that are backups or players with split carries. It’s not a great look. Pair that with his WRs that are competing for the third spot, he is in for a long season. Bottom Bunks floor is the floor, his ceiling is 11th. Bottom Bunk has 3 firsts next year, so he is clearly rebuilding. B.B. should make a few trades and get rid of Henderson this season while he still has trade value.

Pistol

Projected Starters:

Kyler Murray – QB – Arizona Cardinals

Kareem Hunt – RB – Cleveland Browns

James Robinson – RB – Jacksonville Jaguars

Nyheim Hines – RB – Indianapolis Colts

Michael Carter – RB – New York Jets

Courtland Sutton – WR – Denver Broncos

Tre’Quan Smith – WR – New Orleans Saints

Russell Gage – WR – Atlanta Falcons

Robert Tonyan – TE – Green Bay Packers

Kyle Pitts – TE – Atlanta Falcons

Greg Zuelein – K – Dallas Cowboys

Notable Bench Players:

Ryan Fitzpatrick – QB – Washington Football Team

Allen Lazard – WR – Green Bay Packers

Kadarius Toney – New York Giants

Michael Thomas – WR – New Orleans Saints

Darius Slayton – WR – New York Giants

Pistol is in a rebuild, and he has some good options. Murray is a solid QB, James Robinson is good for this year. Kareem Hunt has two years left. Michael Carter is a young RB, but he’s in a battle for touches right now. Sutton is coming off an injury, so it will be interesting to see how he does this year. Russell Gage is also a sneaky play. Pistol has two good tight ends, Pitts is a stud, and is in the perfect spot to wait a year. Pistol’s best bet is for Michael Thomas to come back and trade him, then the rebuild will be complete. Pistol’s floor is last place, his ceiling is somewhere in the bottom four. Pistol also has 3 firsts, so his rebuild is off to a good start.

Mush’s Mongrels

Projected Starters:

Matt Stafford – QB – Los Angeles Rams

Clyde Edwards-Helaire – RB – Kansas City Chiefs

Antonio Gibson – RB – Washington Football Team

Josh Jacobs – RB – Las Vegas Raiders

Odell Beckham, Jr. – WR – Cleveland Browns

Deebo Samuel – WR – San Francisco 49ers

Dionte Johnson – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers

Antonio Brown – WR – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Parris Campbell – WR – Indianapolis Colts

Mike Gesicki – TE – Miami Dolphins

Daniel Carlson – K – Las Vegas Raiders

Notable Bench Players:

Javonte Williams – RB – Denver Broncos

Marquise Brown – WR – Baltimore Ravens

Michael Gallup – WR – Dallas Cowboys

J.K. Dobbins – RB – Baltimore Ravens (IR)

Henry Ruggs – WR – Las Vegas Raiders

Mush lost Dobbins, but he is stacked at RB. He has a nice young team, his WRs are streaky. They are a young group that is inconsistent each week. The nice thing about Mush’s team is that he has options every week, he has a lot of depth. It’s not great depth, but its depth. I think Dionte Johnson is a severally underrated fantasy player. He is a target machine, and consistent production is all you can really ask for. A.B. is all the talk around town and how he could be the steal of the year, but time will tell. Mush has a floor of 8th and a ceiling of 4th. It all depends on how his WRs pan out this year.

Trashman

Projected Starters:

Baker Mayfield – QB – Cleveland Browns

Aaron Jones – RB – Green Bay Packers

Nick Chubb – RB – Cleveland Browns

Zack Moss – RB – Buffalo Bills

Allen Robinson – WR – Chicago Bears

Kenny Golladay – WR – New York Giants

Curtis Samuel – WR – Washington Football Team

Bryan Edwards – WR – Las Vegas Raiders

Mark Andrews – TE – Baltimore Ravens

Evan Engram – TE – New York Giants

Cairo Santos – K – Chicago Bears

Notable Bench Players:

Jarvis Landry – WR – Cleveland Browns

Trevor Lawrence – QB – Jacksonville Jaguars

Cam Akers – Los Angeles Rams (IR)

Tutu Atwell – WR – Los Angeles Rams

Amari Rodgers – WR – Green Bay Packers

Trashman has a sneaky team. Chubb and Jones are both great running backs. A-Rob and Kenny G both are good WRs but in interesting spots. A-Rob could have a QB change and Kenny G has a bad QB. Trashman has a few WRs you like as upside guys in Curty Sam and Bryan Edwards, if they hit, Trashman is in business. The injury to Cam Akers really hurts Trashman’s outside chance of a playoff push. Mark Andrews is also a good play for Trashman. Trashman has a interesting team, he is caught somewhere in the same boat as Mush. His team has a low floor, but also has a playoff ceiling.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Projected Starters:

Patrick Mahomes – QB – Kansas City Chiefs

Miles Sanders – RB – Philadelphia Eagles

Devin Singletary – RB – Buffalo Bills

Keenan Allen – WR – Los Angeles Chargers

Stefon Diggs – WR – Buffalo Bills

Terry McLaurin – WR – Washington Football Team

Brandin Cooks – WR – Houston Texans

Michael Pittman, Jr. – WR – Indianapolis Colts

Ja’Marr Chase – WR – Cincinnati Bengals

Logan Thomas – TE – Washington Football Team

Robbie Gould – K – San Francisco 49ers

Notable Bench Players:

Justin Herbert – QB – Los Angeles Chargers

Kenyan Drake – RB – Las Vegas Raiders

Sony Michel – RB – Los Angeles Rams

Darnell Mooney – WR – Chicago Bears

Travis Etienne – RB – Jacksonville Jaguars (IR)

JonnyDIII has two things, QBs and WRs. That’s it. The blow to Etienne really hurts his chances at a playoff push. But, with Sony getting traded, Ty Johnson being in the mix in New York, maybe one of these guys can show something to give JD3 the much needed boost in that RB2 spot. JD3 has a nice little mix of young talent at WR, so that WR core should keep him in the mix, but the glaring issue at RB is a huge concern. JD3, Mush, Trashman all are in the same boat, things could go south and finish 9th, things could go great and a title run could happen, and then go south in the big game.

Batman

Projected Starters:

Lamar Jackson – QB – Baltimore Ravens

Myles Gaskin – RB – Miami Dolphins

D’Andre Swift – RB – Detroit Lions

Robert Woods – WR – Los Angeles Rams

DeVante Parker – WR – Miami Dolphins

JuJu Smith-Schuster – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers

Laviska Shenault – WR – Jacksonville Jaguars

DeVonta Smith – WR – Philadelphia Eagles

Darren Waller – TE – Las Vegas Raiders

Noah Fant – TE – Denver Broncos

Harrison Butker – K – Kansas City Chiefs

Notable Bench Players:

James Conner – RB – Arizona Cardinals

Ronald Jones – RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sammy Watkins – WR – Baltimore Ravens

Terrance Marshall – WR – Carolina Panthers

Nelson Agholor – WR – New England Patriots

Batman has a solid team, he’s just missing some of those top end receivers. He has a good young pair in Shenault and Smith. Marshall could also be a good long play. Tight End position is locked down. Bench depth is solid with Jones and Agholor as potential bye week fillers. Also, sneaky early season play is Sammy Watkins. Bateman is hurt, Watkins might be a good flyer for Week 1, 2, and 3. A sneaky long play for Batman might be to dump Agholor and Watkins if they have a hot start, take a shot at a younger guy or really anything. Without the WR help, I think Batman has a touch lower ceiling than Trashman, Mush, and JonnyDIII. But to rule him out completely would be a mistake. Floor is 10th, ceiling 5th.

Bruce

Projected Starters:

Joe Burrow – QB – Cincinnati Bengals

Ezekiel Elliot – RB – Dallas Cowboys

Jonathan Taylor – RB – Indianapolis Colts

Damien Harris – RB – New England Patriots

Najee Harris – RB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Tyler Boyd – WR – Cincinnati Bengals

Chris Godwin – WR – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

D.J. Chark – WR – Jacksonville Jaguars

Emanuel Sanders – WR – Buffalo Bills

Hunter Henry – TE – New England Patriots

Younghoe Koo – K – Atlanta Falcons

Notable Bench Players:

Ryan Tannehill – QB – Tennessee Titans

Leonard Fournette – RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rashod Bateman – WR – Baltimore Ravens

Hunter Renfrow – WR – Oakland Raiders

Dalton Schultz – TE – Dallas Cowboys

The injury to Bateman hurts, but Bruce has a lot of running backs. Bruce is in need of a little mini rebuild, Zeke should be a trade target for someone during this season. If you can get a first and something or a stud WR for Zeke, I think it’s worth the trade. Bruce needs some WRs, that’s the big flaw in his team. JT and the Harris twins should be good young RBs for the next 3 years. Godwin and Boyd are both solid WRs, but he needs a big name. Until then, Bruce has a low ceiling, 7th is the highest and 10th is the lowest for Bruce this year.

Well that does it. Next we will be diving into the Week 1 matchups. We are about to get underway to another fun fantasy football season. Every week is the chance to secure your spot as the best fantasy manager in your league. For the Pot Cakes Dynasty League, that title belongs to Touchdown Guy. He’s the man on top and 11 (12) other managers want to take him down. Good luck in any final drafts you may have coming up. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Sleepers and Busts

Good morning everyone, we take a look at who are the Sleepers and Busts for this year. It really comes down to who the biggest value is for a sleeper as well as a potential breakout player. Busts are just guys that are drafted either a round/round and a half early for those top end guys, or just guys that will miss later on. Let’s dive in and see what we are working with for this upcoming season. For adp we are using 12 team drafts.

Sleepers

Running Backs

Josh Jacobs – RB – Las Vegas Raiders

Right now Jacobs is projected to be a mid to late 3rd round pick. This is a huge slap in the face for a guy that finished as RB13 and RB8 the last two seasons. Now he’s projected to be somewhere between RB 18-22? I do not buy it one bit. Kenyan Drake is a great backup RB, great pass catching option. But so what. Jacobs is a workhorse, he can easily see 300 carries this year. When faced with a decision of Dobbins, Montgomery, Carson, Swift, Henderson, and Sanders, Jacobs should be in front of all those guys. If you are near the end of your draft order, Jacobs as a late second is an easy pick for me. You can have some flexibility here, WR, Jacobs, and then go RB again. Jacobs is an easy RB1 this year in my opinion, whoever gets him has a steal.

Raheem Mostert – RB – San Francisco 49ers and Melvin Gordon – RB – Denver Broncos

Now, Mostert was hurt all last year. Melvin Gordon finished as the RB14 last year. Mostert is currently going as a late 5th, Gordon in the 7th. Sure both of these RBs have rookies that are looking to take their spot. That is a next year problem. When filling out your roster, the draft may not go your way. Having either of these guys as your RB2 or Flex, a starting running back that will get touches, sign me up. Obviously Mostert’s injury history and Javonte Williams’ preseason reports are the risk here. But Mostert will receive touches, and a 7th rounder for Gordon means you aren’t risking much. These two have great value, and probably the last chance you have at a back that will receive touches.

Wide Receivers

Sammy Watkins – WR – Baltimore Ravens

I say this with full disclosure I am not drafting him. But being surrounded by rookie WRs Watkins is the only receiver with experience on the Ravens roster. Now, Mark Andrews runs the show for targets in Baltimore. But when you get to the end of your draft and you don’t like who is left, take a shot on Watkins. He is someone that either booms or busts early on and then you can decide if he stays on your roster.

Nelson Agholor – WR – New England Patriots

All reports out of New England is that Agholor is the WR1 in New England. He’s paid like one. This is another last positional round pick. Get out a pen and paper and write down all the WR1s for a team you can draft at the end of a draft. Corey Davis is sneaking up a little earlier, and good luck figuring out who the WR1 is for the Lions or Raiders. Give me the lead guy for a team that will either use Cam and his rocket arm (best deep ball QB last year) or Mac Jones who at least looks the part as a safe QB. I like Agholor as an absolute steal in the draft this year. You will take him as a WR4/5 and he can easily surpass those WR3 options that you may find from the Jaguars and Bengals.

Bryan Edwards – WR – Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have a WR1 in Darren Waller, the tight end. But, we have no clue who the real WR1 will be for the Raiders. Ruggs has a shot and has a good chance at being the guy, but Edwards is undrafted in some leagues and likely available in all final positional rounds. Take a chance on Edwards as your last pick and just cut him if it doesn’t pan out. Edwards is no risk and all reward if it works out.

Quarterbacks

Ryan Fitzpatrick – QB – Washington Football Team and

Ben Rothlisberger – QB – Pittsburg Steelers

I pair these two for the same reason. No one is drafting them. Both have great weapons. I cannot see a scenario in which these guys don’t have great seasons. If you invest in positional depth and run out of options, and do not take a QB early enough, these two are great safe options. They might not win you weeks, but they will allow you to stay in games and rely on your positional guys.

Tight Ends

Adam Trautman – TE – New Orleans Saints

Now, I do not recommend using Trautman as your TE1 early. I just think that he is someone that you can use as a stash. The Saints without Thomas have very few options as pass catchers. Kamara is obviously going to be the leader of this offense, but there is plenty of room for Trautman to get some early receptions and get involved. If he receives targets Week 1 you may have yourself a steal, if not, well move on and chalk it up to low risk gamble.

Busts

Running Backs

Saquon Barkley – RB – New York Giants

I am avoiding Saquon at all costs. He’s too big of a gamble for a first round pick. In the limited amount we saw from Saquon last year the Giants cannot support him. It’s unusual that such a talent goes to waste, but without blocking and without a capable QB, Saquon is going to face a stacked box every week and he’s going to have to work too hard for yards. While he’s great, I just think too many weeks you will see a terrible production due to the Giants struggling. This is not a Saquon issue, it’s a Giants issue.

Myles Gaskin – RB – Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins backfield is almost undraftable for me. He’s a fourth round pick right now. I would rather take a shot on a veteran back or a WR here. Myles Gaskin is likely Devin Singletary last year, and that is a 7th Round value, not a 4th. So I will let Myles fall and then think about it, but where he is going now is way too high and will cost you.

David Johnson – RB – Houston Texans

The Texans have gone stated David Johnson is going to have a Duke Johnson role. I do not know what that means, but I know Ingram and Lindsay both received touches with the first team in the preseason. If I’m the Texans I go with the “youth” of Lindsay. I think Lindsay will have the best fantasy production from this backfield, but if you are relying on the Texans backfield you have a lot more to worry about.

Wide Receivers

Julio Jones – WR – Tennessee Titans

I know I’m crazy, but I do not want Julio as my WR2. He’s an early fourth and ranked inside the top 20. While comparing Corey Davis to Julio is not fair, and I know that Jonnu Smith is gone, but I do not see the Titans offense supporting two Wide Receivers. At least not where Julio is going. If you draft Julio at his ADP you are passing on D.J. Moore, B. Aiyuk, and all Steelers WRs. I’ll take the upside of those guys rather than the limited receptions Julio will see. Again this is just me, but I will be avoiding Julio.

Ja’Marr Chase – WR – Cincinnati Bengals

Recency bias is why Chase is going as early as he is. He’s projected to be an early 6th. While everyone wants a steal like they had in Justin Jefferson last year, I don’t think Chase is it. The Bengals are dealing with a young team and Chase himself is a rookie (obviously). This offense has too many questions. While Chase ultimately is not a huge costs, he is either your WR2 or Flex option depending on your draft. I would much rather take a shot on a player that has shown NFL production. Claypool, Cooks, Chark, and even Deebo Samuel all have NFL stats you can look back on and feel somewhat comfortable with. Chase just provides too much risk here. Yes, I know Burrow was out the large majority of the season, but Tee Higgins was the WR26 last year. That is probably the ceiling for whoever the Bengals WR1 is, which could be Higgins again. I expect the Bengals to be bad and Chase to have a good year for a rookie, but not for fantasy.

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovalioa – QB – Miami Dolphins

I think all the QBs that are ranked as QB1s are appropriate. However, I promised busts, so Tua is my pick. I don’t think Tua should be ahead of Baker, Big Ben, Fitz, and even Cam Newton. All of these guys will finish ahead of Tua. I’m not sure how the Dolphins will get it done this year, but I expect low scoring games all year. Sure, Tua is coming off of a great preseason performance, but if I’m looking for a dip and dunk QB, I’m taking Big Ben.

Tight Ends

Kyle Pitts – TE – Atlanta Falcons

Now this is just in general, it’s not Dynasty related. I would love Pitts on my Dynasty team. However, Pitts is going in the 4th/5th Round. Maybe next year, but I am not going to spend up to get a rookie when all the proven tight ends are gone. If you want to take Pitts in the 8th, sure, I wouldn’t but you risk less. The 4th and 5th rounds are crucial rounds to find your last productive RB or your WR2. I will not pass up any of those options there to take a gamble on a rookie Tight End for a bad team.

Well that does it for Sleepers and Busts. Draft season is upon us, so best of luck in your drafts. We are gearing up for the Week 1 preview, until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.
