Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Recap

Good morning everyone, and welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Recap. If you have been with us from the beginning, picked up in the middle, or this is your first read, thank you for tuning in. It has been fun. Will it continue? Maybe. Will offseason content be inconsistent? Yes. Did that give away this continuing? Yes. Enough about this, us, we have some winners to talk about. We take a look at the championships, the pick championships, and the prescriptions of Dr. Tilt.

Championship

#3 Touchdown Guy v. #5 PeePaw

v.

What a matchup. I have never seen anything like this. A Picasso couldn’t have painted a better picture for TDG. Friday night Thielen and Jared Cook for TDG, and PeePaw rolled with JJ. Thielen flipped the point projections with 19, JJ had 11, and Cook had 9. TDG over performing, PeePaw under. Saturday morning, the Bucs take on the Lions, TDG has Mike Evans. What a trade, Mikey E showing up big in the biggest weekend of the year. Evans added 35 big ones. This game was out of control. Then the 49ers and Cards. Jeff Wilson added 26 for PeePaw, Aiyuk went under with 3. Good and bad for PeePaw, but a glimmer of hope remained. Dolphins kicker gave TDG a nice 15, sheesh, the kicker. Sunday, the moon must have been dancing because the tides were turning. Ito Smith put in two TDs and 20 points, CeeDee Lamb 22, Miles Sanders 16, and a night cap of Davante Adams, 37 points. Meanwhile TDG had Hurst and Ridley combine for 27. Early playoff helpers like Chad Hansen and Tim Patrick did not have a big game, RBs Melly Gordon and Derrick Henry both ended with under 10 points. The Packers keeping Henry out of the endzone is a mystery that needs a podcast about it. Entering Monday night, PeePaw had a commanding lead of 168.7 to 131.9. PeePaw having the kicker, and TDG having the ever so Tall Josh Allen. Was he tall enough? Yes, oh my goodness Josh Allen is so tall putting up 46 points. TDG winning the first ever trophy 178.1 to 176.7.

I was able to catch up with the 2020 Pot Cakes Dynasty League Champion, Touchdown Guy. TDG said he “woke up Monday with no expectations but Josh Allen is extremely tall and really good. He pulled off another big game and [got us] the win. What a year.” TDG said looking forward to next season that he’s “Looking forward to 2021,” and that once he gets star RB Saquon Barkley back that he will be the cherry on top to his “solid squad”. A true competitor but better person, TDG had this to say about his competition, “Tough matchup for me in the championship with PeePaw. We made a few trades this year and helped each other get here. Can’t say more about PeePaw. It was a dog fight. His team is really good and very deep. He’s gonna be a force the next few years with those wide receivers especially. Not many games end up in the 170s but we’re billt a little different and gave the fans that they wanted.” TDG then ended with the handshake emoji. Unbelievable that a fantasy manager coming off of a thrilling victory would say so many good things about his competition. A true Champion.

I also got a few words from the 2020 Pot Cakes Dynasty League Runner-up, PeePaw. While most of the conversation is for a mature audience, PeePaw knew going into the matchup that it would come down to 4 touchdowns and/or 2 field goals. Well, PeePaw saw the four TDs happen, but the Bills could not sneak a garbage time field goal to swing it back his way. PeePaw shared admiration for TDG and then shared his frustrations as he poured everything he had into this season. He then ended the conversation saying he was taking the next few moments to spend time with loved ones. It was a heart wrenching convo, you could really feel the pain and agony of a Championship loss that took place in the last few minutes of the fantasy season and after having a huge lead. Tough.

What a journey.

3rd Place

#1 Daddy Wombat v. #2 Teach

v.

The good news is that both of these teams lose this week if they were in the ship. Daddy Wombat went with the young QB Hurts and put up some good numbers. Everyone else was bad. Oh wait, what’s that? Alvin Kamara, yah he played, he’s a Daddy Wombat. Daddy Wombat was on cruise control all week as Kamara went on for 55 on Friday. Teach had Aaron Rodgers who just missed 40, Tee Higgins 18, but Zeke being back took the wind from beneath his wings. Daddy Wombat won 137.2 to 107.45.

Consolation Pick #13

#9 Trashman v. #11 Batman

v.

While it was a dark night for some, Batman helped Albert as he took out the trash. Lamar had an average performance of 28 to just sneak in as QB 12 on the year. Miles Gaskin added 31, Juju added 20, James Conner 15, and Darren Waller put up 13. The best thing for Batman outside of pick 13 is that AJ Dillon put up 25 in the taxi. While Gaskin will remain a mystery in the off season, Dillon and Swift are a very promising 1-2 punch for Batman going forward. The amount of hope and wonder for Batman with these two young backs could not be better. Trashman, well things cannot be worse. Rosters are locked, of the 25 eligible roster spots, 4 are QBs and 2 are kickers. The offseason is not promising. Aaron Jones ended with a dozen, but where will he end up next year? Chubb added 15 and the biggest offseason question there is if the Browns get a deal done, could Chubb holdout? Allen Robinson added 15, but where does he go? Curtis Samuel was Trashman’s lead dog with 18, when Curtis Samuel leads your team that is a problem. Trashman is going to have to take a long look in the mirror, at least he has pick 26 to help him out. Batman sweeps Trashman 169.95 to 121.65.

#7 Pistol v. #8 Mush

v.

I did not see this one coming. Dawson Knox tore up the Patriots secondary for 3 and 51 giving Mush the 1 point win over the award winning Pistol. Pistol started Lil’Jordan Humphrey for a goose egg. Monty had 19, Kelce did too. Gage with 4 and the two Packers Broadway Bob and Allen Lazard combined for four. Mush had all day Saturday to think of his starting QB. He went with Marcus Mariota, his love for Oregon QBs is unwavering. Michael Gallup added 27 and Dionte Johnson added 18. Mush pulled it off, the unlikeliest of upsets, winning 118.44 to 117.65. Mush will get Pick 39 and Pistol gets Pick 52.

Dr. Tilt ended up over .500 on the year, what a ride. Thanks for the help this year Dr. Tilt. Or will we get one last appointment from Dr. Tilt?

What a year. Thank you again for everyone who tuned in. A lot of excitement this year in the fantasy football season, congrats again to Touchdown Guy. Hopefully, you are all gearing up for an offseason that consists of stress free football, and what’s that? Did you say mock drafts? I guess you will have to keep an eye out for that. Until next time, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Regular Season Awards

Good morning everyone, welcome the the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Regular Season Awards. We are winding down the fantasy football season, but in a Dynasty League some moves last a lifetime.

Let’s start things off by looking at the Avalanche Award. This award goes to the manager that absolutely collapsed. A force of nature, collapsing was inevitable. I’m talking an absolute tumble. Dangerous fall.

Those Managers up for this award include, JonnyDIII, Bottom Bunk, Trashman, and Mush.

Without a doubt, the manager with a collapse that can only be summarized as an act of God, was…..

Mush was an early season frontrunner, but as the season and schedule caught up to him, there was no parachute, and this collapse continued into the consolation bracket.

Next up we have the Vikings Deal. One of the worst trade deals in NFL history is Herschel Walker to the Vikings for 5 players and 7 picks. My goodness. No one remembers Herschel as a Viking. Let’s look at some of the worst trades this season.

Bottom Bunk trades a 3rd Round pick to JonnyDIII for Kendrick Bourne. Bottom Bunk trades Michael Pittman to JonnyDIII for J.D. McKissic. Bottom Bunk trades a 3rd Round Pick to Batman for Taysom Hill (the one week Hill was a QB playing TE). Bottom Bunk trades Adam Thielen and a 2nd Round Pick to Touchdown Guy for Christian Kirk and Darrell Henderson. Bottom Bunk trades a 1st Round Pick to PeePaw for Alexander Mattison and Mike Williams. There were a lot of questionable trades. The trade that wins the Vikings Deal and is what the voters voted the worst trade was…..

Bottom Bunk trading away Adam Thielen and a 2nd Round Pick for Christian Kirk and Darrell Henderson. This is a bad trade because Bottom Bunk was in the mix, he had a top 5 WR. He then traded for a WR and RB that next year will be competing to be Top 5 in their own position group. Cam Akers is in full control of the L.A. backfield, Christian Kirk maybe replaces Fitz, but were does Isabella and Arnold and the backs rank as far as receptions. Plus, D-Hop takes a lot of targets. That is a bad target share. B.B. probably enjoys this chilly weather because he got absolutely fleeced.

We now look at the best trade of the year. This is the Pound for Pound award. This is twofold, pound for pound is a fighter slogan, as in the best pound for pound fighter. There also was some investor back in the day that did something with the British pound and he made a lot of money on it. Stocks, amirite? Anyways here are the Pound for Pound candidates.

Touchdown Guy trading two 1st Round Picks to PeePaw for Derrick Henry. PeePaw trading Melvin Gordon to Touchdown Guy for A.J. Brown. Batman trading Miles Sanders and a 4th Round Pick to PeePaw for Miles Gaskin and a 1st and 2nd Round pick. JonnyDIII trading a 2nd and 5th Round Pick to Touchdown Guy who traded Le’Veon Bell to PeePaw who traded Devin Singletary to JonnyDIII (the only 3-way trade). The winner of the Pound for Pound trade award is…..

&

PeePaw and Touchdown Guy for the Derick Henry for two 1st Round picks. It is such an even trade. It worked out for both as both made the playoffs. TDG has a bell cow back, PeePaw has a couple good chances to get a good player out of it. I like the trade, I mean PeePaw might wonder where he would be if he had kept D-Train, but long term it’s a good trade. Same for TDG it’s a good trade, D-Train is not stopping and addresses the RB room for TDG for at least 2 more years.

Next we have the Lottery Pick. This is the pick of the year, which manager received the best value on their pick, or which manager just made the most sound pick. Candidates for winning the Lottery are:

CrossFit – Zach Pascal Round 20 Pick 12 – Young WR on a team that needs a WR1

Touchdown Guy – Calvin Ridley Round 6 Pick 11 – WR 7 and the new WR1 for Falcons

Batman – Ronald Jones Round 8 Pick 10 – Sneaky RB this year, RB 13 on the year as of today

Bruce – Damien Harris Round 19 Pick 4 – JT is another choice but is Harris a bargain bin steal

JonnyDIII – Stefon Diggs Round 5 Pick 5 – WR4 on the year, WR 20 off the board

Bottom Bunk – Dalvin Cook Round 1 Pick 6 – #4 non-QB on the year after missing a few games

Pistol – Russell Gage Round 21 Pick 7 – a late steal that provided weekly boom/bust and future

Daddy Wombat – DK Metcalf Round 4 Pick 5 – WR3 on the year, Second year WR & a Monster

Mush – Antonio Gibson Round 11 Pick 9 – RB9 and a rookie, future is bright

Trashman – Cam Akers Round 6 Pick 3 – late bloomer, rookie, future is bright

PeePaw – Justin Jefferson Round 6 Pick 2 – WR 8 & a rookie, potential top 10 for years to come

Teach – Aaron Rodgers Round 7 Pick 12 – Old vet who scored the most TDs, 6 Point TD league

There are obviously a lot of good picks that were left out. Surprise announcement, there are two winners, the best pick for today and the best pick for tomorrow. For today…

Daddy Wombat – DK Metcalf – I mean he is WR 3 on the year and young, its good now it’s good tomorrow.

But for tomorrow….

PeePaw – Justin Jefferson – it is a toss up with Calvin Ridley, but with the Falcons being in some turmoil who knows who the QB will be. Jefferson can catch touchdowns from Kirk Cousins. If you can catch him, you’re going to be alright.

Now we have the opposite. The Leaf Award. Ryan Leaf is one of the worst picks of all time. No one had the perfect draft, so let’s look at the nominees.

CrossFit – Zach Ertz – Round 5 Pick 1 – this one shocked a lot of people

Touchdown Guy – Julio Jones Round 2 Pick 11 – you had to take him here, but it’s over

Batman – Juju Smith-Schuster Round 3 Pick 3 – where does he end up next year

Bruce – Leonard Fournette Round 4 Pick 9 – very early for a backup RB

JonnyDIII – N’Keal Harry Round 10 Pick 8 – drafting a Patriot was a bad idea this year

Bottom Bunk – T.Y. Hilton Round 5 Pick 6 – he’s old and better guys went later

Pistol – Jordan Howard Round 8 Pick 6 – he was waived by both Pistol and the Dolphins

Daddy Wombat – Todd Gurley Round 3 Pick 8 – it’s over for Gurley

Mush – Jalen Reagor Round 6 Pick 4 – early pick for an Eagles WR

Trashman – Kenny Golladay Round 3 Pick 10 – contract year issues, not Trashman’s fault

PeePaw – Breshad Perriman Round 13 Pick 11 – was cut at some point by PeePaw

Teach – Joe Mixon Round 2 Pick 1 – banged up all year but when he was in he was bad

And the worst pick goes to….

CrossFit – Zach Ertz Round 5 Pick 1. I mean CrossFit missed out on Darren Waller two picks later. The two players are on two completely opposite career paths. This is a early miss and a big one as the TE position is so important.

Now we have the First to Worst, these awards go to the best individual start of the year and the worst start of the year. I’m not going to list the performances here are the two winners.

JonnyDIII starting Justin Herbert over Patrick Mahomes Week 5 and Week 13. Week 5 Herbert outscored Mahomes boasting a whopping 40 points, this performance should have given JonnyDIII four 1st round picks but some managers are not men of their word. Week 13 was a different story, Herbert only put up 9 points to Mahomes 27, which 27 is still bad and JD3 made the right call to not start Mahomes, but if he had and maybe some other things in Week 13 he wins.

Next up we have the Gimme That Award. This goes out to the guy you just had to have on your roster, maybe someone you spent up on in waivers. ($200 at beginning of season) Whether it was a good move or a weird one, here are some of the candidates….

Teach – Gunner Olszewski – $22

Bruce – Adrian Peterson – $22

Bruce – Frank Gore – $29

Batman – Cam Sims – $21

Pistol – Antonio Brown – $100

Bottom Bunk – Travis Fulgham – $100

Mush – Kerryon Johnson – $60

Mush – Jason Huntley – $30

While some of these moves were good, others weren’t. The Gimme That Award goes to…..

Teach – Gunner Olszewski – $22

The reason this goes to Teach is because this guy stunk, and still stinks. It was the one in a million game that triggered a $22 purchase by Teach, and there is not much upside. But when you see something this shinny you just have to have it. That is why Teach gets the Gimme That award.

Next we have a completely made up award that is to include everyone. The Aim Small Miss Small Award. This goes to the manager who won a tight one, lost a tight one. Managers eligible for the nomination are; Bruce, JonnyDIII, and Pistol. The winner is…..

&

Pistol and Bruce

I mean I made up the name so it has to go to Pistol, but the series of events that took place include Bruce. Week 2 Pistol pumps Bruce 160.1 to 159.25, Week 3 Pistol loses to Mush 132.26 to 131.2, and Week 5 Bruce loses to CrossFit 113.82 to 113.3. These were some tight games. Pistol saw both sides of the coin while Bruce just yelled into his pillow. Both win a share of the Aim Small Miss Small Award.

Next we have the Big Brain award. This goes to the manager with the biggest brain, the one with the foresight to see a guy would make a comeback or roster at some point during the season.

The nominees are….

CrossFit – Demaryius Thomas

Batman – Devonta Freeman

Bottom Bunk – Royce Freeman

Trashman – Cam Newton

The winner is…..

Batman

While Cam Newton is likely the better pick, we all knew or at least were expecting Cam to sign eventually. Devonta Freeman was an insane gamble taking him in the 20th round. But it did not work out in the end, but it’s the thought that count. It was a move that worked perfectly, it just turns out Freeman doesn’t run like he used to.

Next we have the Hoarder award. Some managers find a position they like and they go for it. This one is really a no brainer, there is only one nominee and only one winner.

Trashman.

Trashman carried three to four QBs throughout the year. He also at times rocked two Kickers. But the QB thing is interesting. Baker, Cam, Danny Dimes, and Wentz. He has four QBs that you want to be good, but they just aren’t. These are exactly the type of thing a hoarder hoards. None of these QBs are worth anything, let alone four of them. Trashman is going to have four QBs going into the offseason and no chance at a dart-throw rookie that climbs the depth chart in the offseason.

Lastly, we have the most coveted award, Manager of the Year. While every manager is eligible for this award there is one clear cut manager that did things a little bit better than most, the Manager of the Year is…..

Touchdown Guy.

Touchdown Guy did things simply. He took Calvin Ridley when he was there. He made a big trade to get the top RB in scoring. He also received Adam Thielen and a 2nd Rounder for nothing. The TDG got things done and it just so happens that he is playing for the Championship. Well done TDG.

DISCLAIMER***** I would like to say that in my passed posts I have claimed TDG as my favorite, this has nothing to this award, I mean come on Thielen and a Pick for C. Kirk and D. Henderson, that type of insanity can only compete with TDG’s insane good looks. Oops, my bias came though, but really, he had a great year and kept his team in it throughout.

That does it for our regular season awards. Good luck the rest of the way in this Championship Weekend. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow, I’ll see you in a couple days for a Championship Recap.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Preview. I know, there are third place games but no one likes those teams cares. It is the greatest two words in sports “Fantasy Championship”. Hopefully, the teams not named Touchdown Guy or PeePaw casted a wide net and had some luck and made it in other league(s). We will dive in as deep as we can to the Championship, then third place, then Consolation Championship, and then Consolation Third Place. We then have Dr. Tilt ending his year and seeing if he can stay above water. But let’s take a look at our FIRST ever Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship.

Championship

#3 Touchdown Guy v. #7 PeePaw

v.

What a journey for these two. It really is something as both of these managers were active in trades and waivers. TDG and PeePaw made headlines with the blockbuster trade of Derrick Henry for Two 1st Round Picks. Now Derrick Henry is in a revenge game against PeePaw and going against the Green Bay Packers Defense. *Gulp* PeePaw made some savvy moves on his own. Spending big money on Myles Gaskin on a waiver move, and then flipping Gaskin and some picks for Miles Sanders and some picks. While a 1st was shipped for Sanders, PeePaw made up for it by his waiver move to get Mike Williams and drafting Alex Mattison whom he traded to Bottom Bunk for a 1st Round pick. These selective moves and balancing acts by both of these mangers have set them up for the now, and the future. TDG and PeePaw swapping Melvin Gordon for A.J. Brown also adds some spice to the matchup. Bottom Bunk was mentioned earlier in a trade, but he also traded with TDG, Darrell Henderson and Christian Kirk went to B.B. for Adam Thielen and a 2nd Round pick. Yes, this is a very lopsided trade, BUT, Darrell Henderson is the starter for the Rams Week 16. TDG, PeePaw, and JD3 also did a three-way trade which sent PeePaw Le’Veon Bell, who if healthy will face off against his old team. There is just so much here, but we need to talk tape and look at the who’s who of this matchup.

TDG was bailed out last week with Melvin Gordon putting up bad yards but 2 TDs, Gordon needs a TD, and if the Broncos and Chargers really get after it, the opportunity for red zone touches should be there. Josh Allen is so tall, but he goes against division rival and mastermind coach in the Patriots. Diggs is dinged up, so his A-1 Day 1 might suffer. Gilmore being out helps, but the whole defense is going to try and stop Diggs. Derrick Henry, Green Bay Packers, under 25 points for him will be a letdown. TDG does not have as flashy of WRs. Thielen, Mike Evans, and Ridley all to the veins. The sneaky “please take a seat” Chad Hansen and Tim Patrick will have to hit their mark in this matchup. Julio Jones will be someone to keep an eye out for as we get closer to kickoff.

PeePaw hates our app. Previously he was only a 3 point dog but is listed at 43% chance to win. The numbers don’t add up. But the odds were never good for PeePaw as he snuck in the playoffs after starting out bad bad this season. But he’s in and his guys are coming together. Jeff Wilson if healthy gives PeePaw a much needed boost. Miles Sanders is in a division game and he wants to put on a show and bury the Cowboys. Le’Veon Bell, projected starter for the Chiefs, this at least should sure up some ½ point PPR touches. Dink and dime all you want, Bell needs to get points. A.J. Brown is likely going to face some tough competition in the Packers secondary. Usually the best guy has it tough against the Packers because running the ball is easy, and the second option is open on play action. On the flipside, Davante Adams is going against the Titans secondary. He will make up for every point Brown does not get. Adams is going to absolutely light it up, especially if the Titans are up early. Also, keep an eye out on the young guys, CeeDee, Aiyuk, and Jefferson.

Touchdown Guy is a 6 point dog but a 50/50 favorite, and I picked him from the start (of playoffs at least), so I am going to take TDG to be the first Pot Cakes Dynasty League Champion.

#1 Daddy Wombat v. #2 Teach

v.

I guess bragging rights are at stake, Teach could end up with the best winning percentage? I am not going to fact check that as I stated above no one really cares about these games.

Daddy Wombat has been injured and inactive on the waiver, and this is what happens. The Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf connection is hot when it’s hot, and not when it’s not. Lately, it has been bad so D.W. is the bad guy. Kamara against the Vikings should be in the mid 20s. D-Hop, he will need to make some plays to keep the Cards in the hunt.

Teach was ridiculed for taking Aaron Rodgers so early in the draft, and like Aaron Rodgers of late, that led to an early exit. Not his fault, but some injuries, running back issues, and excluded/included in that Joe Mixon, never allowed Teach to bounce back. If Tony Pollard is the starter than that is good news. The Tyreek Hill, D.J. Moore, and Marvin Jones has been hitting lately, and it will need to again. Daddy Wombat is a 2 point dog but 53% odds to win, see, this is what PeePaw hates, I’ll go with the green bar and take Daddy Wombat to win.

Consolation Championship for Pick 13.

#9 Trashman v. #11 Batman

v.

Both of these guys are taking a break from cleaning up the streets to compete for Pick 13.

Trashman has not said a word all year. He has just been plotting for this very moment. Baker against the Jets looking to be in a position to win the Division next week is a great play. Aaron Jones against the bad Titans Defense, great play. Nick Chubb great play. Cam Akers not so much, the electric RB is out this week and I am not sure who Trashman looks to. Allen Robinson against the Jaguars, in a game where somehow the Bears can be trying to get that 7-seed, that is a must start. Trashman has to clean up his roster if he wants to clean Batman’s clock.

Batman is hoping Lamar keeps his hot streak. De’Andre Swift is facing a tough defense in the Buccaneers. The good news is Batman has either starting RB. Robert Woods and Nelson Agholor need to have big weeks to make up for a guy like Juju and Sammy Watkins who may be big misses this week. The good news is Batman has two utility Tight Ends who can make some noise in Waller and Fant. Could the leg be the difference? Batman has his kicker going up against a bad Atlanta secondary, and Trashman’s kicker is a tough kicker.

Winner of this matchup gets pick 13, loser gets pick 26. I’ve been picking against Batman all year, so one more time won’t hurt, Trashman is a point favorite and I think Nick Chubb and A-Rob get him to 13.

#7 Pistol v. #8 Mush

v.

Pistol and Mush are playing for pick 39 or 52. Pistol is a 21 point favorite, I’m taking Pistol. Pistol has David Montgomery going off. Kyler Murray, veins. Travis Kelce, veins. Broadway Bob, veins. Pistol has a good squad, he’s missing a WR and can add another 8 points to his projected lead. Mush, well he is out of luck. Mush is taking a flyer on Mariota against a good defense. James Robinson might be out, and that is going to take a lot of his points. He’s starting Dawson Knox? My goodness. Gallup and Hollywood Brown, what a tough squad. I think he’s going to have an extra fourth. Again, I’ll take Pistol in this one as Mush continues his downward spiral.

Now we have some picks.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Playoff Recap Part 2

What a weekend. I feel like a lot of dudes went off. High scoring affairs, lopsided upsets, all the fun heartbreak I enjoyed seeing. It was like looking in a mirror, you know who you are (xoxo ;( xoxo). We will take a look at who made it to the Championship weekend and see how Dr. Tilt did this week. Less teams, less to read, let’s get to it.

Playoff Bracket

#1 Daddy Wombat v. #6 PeePaw

v.

Upset City population you bro. Daddy Wombat fell apart. Russ only put up 17, Gurley added 2, and Metcalf with 7. It was all over. Good performances from D-Hop and Higbee were not enough. One of the toughest pills to swallow will be not starting Jalen Hurts, I do not know if it would have made a difference, but those things sit with you. PeePaw played it right. Nothing super crazy, but very consistent. Jeff Wilson added a dozen, the same with A.J. Brown. CeeDee Lamb added a last second kick return TD to flip this game on its head. This is all after Davante Adams started slow for PeePaw with only 8 points. PeePaw wins in an upset 133.18 to 109.15.

#2 Teach v. #3 Touchdown Guy

v.

Teach learned the meaning of disappointment. In a week were Tony Pollard has 29, D.J. Moore even adds 14, and Marvin Jones got it on for 22, Teach still came up short. T.J. Hockenson adding 0.8 points is the biggest error, other than that he was just out gunned. Touchdown Guy has a very tall QB in Josh Allen that just missed a 50, but added four dozen to the mix. The court system helped TDG as Melvin Gordon played and had 22 points, which almost matched fellow RB D-Train with Jeff Gordon numbers. MVS added a goose, but it was non-other than steal of the draft Calvin Ridley adding 27 points to get TDG to the ship. TDG wins 171.25 to 148.05.

Consolation Bracket

#7 Pistol v. # 11 Batman

v.

This is still an upset. Pistol did not have enough firepower this week. Kyler Murray had 46, Antonio Brown added 18, David Montgomery added 28, and Travis Kelce with 18, and a loss? Pistol left a few points out there with Tre’Quan Smith getting injured and Kareem Hunt not being as involved, but Pistol still beat his projections by 21. Well Batman did better. Lamar Jackson just missed 40, De’Andre Swift had two scores to get 20, Salvon Ahmed had 21, Bob Woods had 18, and the tight end pair of Darren Waller had 25 and Noah Fant had 17. My goodness. The only guy who did not do well was last week’s Cinderella in Nelson Agholor who still added 7 of his 14 projected points. Riddle me this, is Batman the bad guy upsetting all these teams? Batman wins 170.45 to 161.9.

#8 Mush v. #9 Trashman

v.

With the winter months upon us, it is only fitting how hard Mush has slipped and fallen. Mush was on par for his projection, but his projection was low to start. J.K. Dobbins outperformed by 3 points, Josh Jacobs added 19, Malcom Brown had 13, but the rest, the rest was not great. No big wow guys, the WRs all were right at projections, well except sneaky play of the week Antonio Callaway who did not play but somehow was in Mush’s roster. Back to back weeks Mush started a Dolphin that did not play. Trashman took out the trash. Trashman having faced the toughest schedule out of anyone in the league finally got a layup and he flushed it home. Baker 30, Aaron Jones Jumpan, Juice 15, and Mark Andrews added a cool 15 as well. The biggest let down was Trashman’s last guy, Breshad Perriman, he only added 2.6 points, and Cam Akers had a tough week because the Rams fell behind early. Trashman took care of business, winning 140.25 to 131.6.

This leaves us with the Championship matchup of Touchdown Guy v. PeePaw.

Third place matchup of Daddy Wombat v. Teach.

Consolation Championship for Pick 13 between Trashman v. Batman.

Consolation Third Place for Pick 39 between Pistol v. Mush.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Playoff Preview Part 2

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Playoff Preview for the Second Round of both the Playoffs and Consolation Bracket. We take a look at only those teams remaining and Dr. Tilt’s prescription for the week. Remember, we have football on Saturday, so check your lineups each and every day this week. This week’s preview I am writing while “I’m Upset” plays in the background. This song plays because I am still hurting from being outperformed by one of the most underrated teams in our league, but also because being upset might happen to a lot of teams this weekend.

Playoff Preview Part 2

#1 Daddy Wombat v. #5 PeePaw

v.

Daddy Wombat enjoyed a bye last week, but could they be saying goodbye after this weekend? PeePaw is out for blood, having made some moves to “go all in” this year and knows that these opportunities do not come around every year. D.W. is showing some flaws. Gurley and Gio Bernard are not good plays, but both have to be started in their lineup. Gurley is 100% touchdown dependent and Gio is on a really bad football team. Luckily, Kamara should be in a shootout against KC and Claypool is going against that bad Bengals team. Claypool is a guy that must have a breakout game to make up for some of the down performances expected this week. D.W. has a lot of red on their matchups, but two heads are better than one, and that might be the difference this week. PeePaw has a lot of green on his matchups. Jeff Wilson might be the starter for San Fran, if so, my goodness that would be the exact boost PeePaw needs. PeePaw is gambling with Gus Edwards and Big Ben as their production can flatten out on a given week, but they also seem to be the “safe play”. PeePaw might fall, but he still can get up with his WRs. A.J. Brown is going against the Lions who have a banged up secondary and Davante Adams just torched. Oh yah, PeePaw has Davante too. With Deebo hobbled, PeePaw also has Aiyuk who goes against the bad Cowboys. This matchup is really the perfect storm Daddy Wombat has some bigger names who are going into tougher matchups, PeePaw has some younger, under the radar guys going into better matchups. Who comes out on top? Right now PeePaw is a 7 point favorite, I’ll take the upset.

#2 Teach v. #3 Touchdown Guy

v.

Teach is taking on my favorite team, so I will try and make this as unbiased as possible. Teach finished hot, securing a first round bye. Teach has some concerns, D.J. Moore and DeVante Parker, their health is up in the air. Moore coming off of the Covid list and Parker with a leg injury, who knows what will happen. Moore also faces a tough Packers secondary, Mike Davis would be the better play. Teach has to rely on two guys out of Detroit, Marvin Jones and T.J. Hockenson, and to that Teach says let’s get it on. Oh, one last thing, hopefully Tyreek Hill can go ham again for Teach, every touch is big points for him. Touchdown Guy has the looks, not only in real life but also in his fantasy lineup. On paper he is lead dog. Josh Allen is so tall. Derrick Henry could not be any better. Calvin Ridley goes up against a younger Bucs secondary, and Mike Evans returns the favor against a bad Falcons defense. Julio Jones remains the achilles heel for TDG. If he goes and underperforms, that’s ok, but if he doesn’t go, my goodness someone will have to step up. TDG is the favorite (and mine) by 16 points so I will take him.

Consolation Bracket

#7 Pistol v. # 11 Batman

v.

They say never meet your heroes. Well then I cannot see Batman. Batman was incredible humble in his triumphant victory last weekend. If for some reason Pistol wins, I hope he can return the favor. Pistol is hoping David Montgomery stays hot. Same with Broadway Bob. The questions come up with Russell Gage and Antonio Brown. Gage has been up and down, if Julio is out he should be up, if Julio is in he should be down. AB, well it all depends on if TB12 can get him the ball down the field. AB against a bad Falcons defense should result in a deep bomb or two. Travis Kelce is on pace to break a record for tight ends in a season, I expect the Chiefs to go for that and Kelce will be TE 1 again, and again. Batman finally found his guy. Lamar Jackson is steaming hot. His projections are about to explode. Lamar alone could flush away Pistol’s hopes of Pick 13. Batman needs James Conner more than ever, Conner is playing a bad team but he has not been playing well. This is a big prove it game for J.C. Ronny Jones, he’s out, who takes his spot? De’Andre Swift and Bob Woods are also good plays, Batman will need a touchdown from each this weekend. This one will be tight at kickoff, now Pistol is currently a 4 point dog, so I will stick with the upsets, sorry Batman.

#8 Mush v. #9 Trashman

v.

Full disclosure, this game is an upset by seeding. #8 > #9. Mush is missing that spark. Something to get the guys going. It is almost like he wasn’t present the last week of the season. This seems to have carried over into the locker room. Josh Jacobs is banged up, so his production is all over the place. Clyde is on the best passing team in the world, at least AFC, and James Robinson goes up against a hit or miss Ravens defense. This is a good team, but are they good now? Do they want it bad enough? Is there need for a shift in management? Probably not, I think Mush and his guys are set for the future, the problem with the future is it’s not today. Trashman has had a weird season. Highs and lows. We do not know what will happen this week. Aaron Jones was red hot to start but the lack of touchdowns recently hurts his fantasy value. Nick Chubb is a monster though, and will continue to get a TD this week. Cam Akers is the best running back in the Rams offense, it is not even close, why would anyone think differently? If I had any other Rams RB I would be upset. The Juice is loose, Jarvis is the WR 1 and comes up with crucial catches for the Browns. A-Rob is heating up and hoping to get Trashman in the mix for 13. However, a team with Andy Dalton and Duke Johnson cannot be trusted. Trashman is a 21 point favorite, but he is the lower seed, so I will go with the seeding upset, I’ll take Trashman.

Now we have some picks.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 15 Picks.

Buffalo @ Denver +7

Kansas City -3 @ New Orleans

Jacksonville @ Baltimore -13

Doc kept it short last week, he does the same this week.
Last Week: 2-1
Season Record: 24-19-1

That does it for the preview. Please enjoy a lot of football all weekend. Maybe you can just enjoy like me this weekend because your team and your master plan all fell apart right in front of your face. Now you have to sit in misery typing up post after post about people more successful than you. You slowly sink into your chair wishing you had what they had, wanting a purpose. Or like I said, you can just sit back and enjoy. No matter how you enjoy your weekend, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Playoff Recap

Good morning everyone, we have our Pot Cakes Dynasty League Playoff Recap. We look at Dr. Tilt getting back on track and other news. My room is completely black, no sound, no warmth of any kind. Just me, me and my thoughts.

The Playoff Recap.

I think more so than ever, fantasy playoffs are the most heartbreaking and stressful time of your career as a Fantasy Football Manager. To pile on top of that, a Dynasty Fantasy Football Manager. If you were lucky enough to string together enough wins or enough points to get through a Covid Fantasy Football Season that should bring you joy. But, the playoffs will take that joy, rip it up into a million pieces, and cause you to second guess your existence for at least two more weeks. We have that.

#1 Daddy Wombat

With the bye no news is good news right? Well there is news. Gurley was bad, Gio was bad and there was no Mixon, and Mims is suspended. Daddy Wombat will enter his first playoff game with three roster spots that are up in the air. That is never a good sign.

#2 Teach

Teach was also on the bye, but his players were not. DeVante Parker suffered an injury that may cause him to miss next week. It is also too early to tell what is going to happen with the Dolphins RB room, but Bowden had quite a few targets and could fill the void of the RB2 spot for Teach. So he is in an ok spot, but not great.

#3 Touchdown Guy v. #6 Bottom Bunk

v.

I projected TDG as my favorite entering the playoffs, and he did not disappoint. D-Train added 35 points, which is good. Hayden Hurst was a snoozer adding 1.2 in his continued boom or bust season. Surprisingly enough Calvin Ridley added 22 points and we all passed on him in the draft. Bottom Bunk wet the bed. Dalvin Cook added 18 and has been good all year. Mike Williams, who is half of a first round pick, added 0. Surprisingly enough, T.Y. added a jumpman in what might be his last fantasy football game of any value. TDG wins 142.84 to 116.65.

#4 CrossFit v. #5 PeePaw

v.

CrossFit maxed out just shy of a second rep (does that work?). Austin Ekeler was good adding 19. I guess Wayne Gallman was bad? He was 4 points under projection, CrossFit had a decent week as TB12 was the biggest letdown by 5 points under projection. The surprising thing was Mike Davis, adding a jumpman himself. It was not enough. The hottest team in the Pot Cakes Dynasty League had something to say. The WR core was good, Adams with 21, A.J. Brown with 20, and Aiyuk with 17. The bad was Jonnu Smith who peeked so early in the season that you have to keep him in the lineup despite recent disappointment. The surprising was Miles Sanders, he went for 27 and helped the Eagles get a win. This is an absolutely gut wrenching loss for CrossFit. All the injuries, all the success, just to lose in the Sunday Night Game with Big Ben tossing one last touchdown. PeePaw is hot, and you don’t want to let him get hot. PeePaw wins 149.05 to 144.1.

Consolation Bracket

#7 Pistol

I did not take the time to add up Pistol’s score, but he said he did well. David Montgomery is on a tear, Kareem Hunt, and Travis Kelce. Sheesh, Pistol is licking his lips. Hopefully, Pistol still has a round in the chamber for this weeks matchup.

#8 Mush

Mush’s second leading scorer is injured, Mike Gesicki has some injury. This is not good for a guy who made a big trade for the tight end. It was a good week for Mush to have a bye as his team did not look good on paper. Getting Antonio Gibby is a must for Mush to make his push for pick #13.

#9 Trashman v. #12 Bruce

v.

Trashman waited all year, but he delivered this week. Allen Robinson was good adding 22 points. Aaron Jones was bad only adding 8.5 points, but what might be worse for Packers fans is that he signed a new agent that is all about the cheddar. The surprising thing was Cam Akers, he added a nice little 20 point Sunday to top off Trashman’s performance. Bruce was not almighty. Barely squeaking into the 100 point category. Jonathan Taylor was good and added 29 points. Chris Godwin and D.J. Chark were bad adding 6 combined points. The surprising thing is how Bruce even made the consolation bracket. I know everyone gets in, but should they? Trashman wins 146.45 to 101.3.

#10 JonnyDIII v. #11 Batman

v.

The human body is incredible. A person can suffer heartbreak after heartbreak and still finds away to wake up. It is really incredible. The buzz came in early Sunday, is this the game of the year? Is this the best consolation game in the history of consolation games? That is not for me to decide. That is for the fans. The story is what sells. JonnyDIII was a favorite and after Thursday Night’s underperformance of Batman’s Bob Woods, things were looking up. The noon games also get JD3 a boost. The issue became Patrick Mahomes 3 interceptions and Terry McLaurin’s disappearance into the afternoon sunset. Nelson Agholor put up an unheard of 18 points. Projection wise, JD3 was a slight advantage. Sunday night Juju starts off hot. Diggs and Singletary, crickets. Second half swing, Diggs is electric, then Juju has a late score. End of Sunday JonnyDIII has a 37.5 point lead, Batman has 30 point projection for Lamar Jackson. Lamar goes missing, JD3 has an 8 point something lead. The two minute warning hits, Lamar rises from the ashes and hits a 40-some yard TD pass. Batman is within 0.1 points. If the Browns can just run out the clock it is over. Baker decides to score in like 4 plays. Lamar hits a couple dump passes. Batman wins 133.15 to 130.95. An absolute barnburner. Batman now is playing for a compensatory pick while JD3 is focused on roster reconstruction and the draft. America’s sweetheart is official out.

Now we have some picks recap.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 14 Prescription

Words from Doc.

The Doc promised to get back on track and he delivered a 2-1 week. Here’s how it went down:

Patriots @ Rams (-4)

The Patriots ain’t what the used to be. No Brady, no receivers and a shorthanded defense. McVay got his revenge for the super bowl a few years ago, and the Rams handled the Pats on Thursday night.

Vikings @ Bucs Over 51.5

Dan Bailey sucks. This pick was doomed from the first quarter. Anytime a kicker leaves 10 points out there you know you’re in trouble. How he hasn’t been cut by know is the most puzzling decision of all time. Kickers are stupid (no offense).

Ravens -1.5 @ Browns

This was one of the games of the year. The Ravens looked like they were going to pull away, until Lamar headed for the locker room in the 3rd quarter. Was he hurt? Or maybe it was something else. Only fitting it happened against the Browns. He came back to save the day (without any brown stains on his pants) and a Justin Tucker FG won it for the Ravens. And then a lateral play turned safety helped last minute Ravens bettors who had -3. What a week.

Last Week: 2-1

Season Record: 24-19-1

Is the Doc back?

Well, that does it for this week. I have to say, for someone to go through a heart wrenching loss, and to turn around and pump out some content is sponsorship worthy. Maybe next year. Tomorrow I will see you with the Playoff Preview Part 2. Until then, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Playoff Preview

Good morning everyone, we have Playoffs. Let’s get it. Well, some do. Some have the luxury of a first round bye. We had a little excitement and some shifting of the ranks, but the playoff picture is officially set. Let us take a look at the Playoffs, the Consolation Bracket, and Dr. Tilt’s Picks.

The Playoff Preview.

Byes: #1 Daddy Wombat and #2 Teach.

Daddy Wombat dominated the league. This week they enjoy a bye, but their players have some good matchups. Russ and DK take on the Jets, and Alvin Kamara takes on the Eagles. The thing D.W. will want to look into is if Gurley gets it going. Another bad week and they will have to address how they want to fill that spot.

Teach also did well, closing the season out strong to get that bye. Teach really needs this week to see if Joe Mixon is healthy and can get back into his starting lineup. That is the one spot Teach will need to bulk up to make his Championship push.

Wild Card Matchups.

#3 Touchdown Guy v. #6 Bottom Bunk.

v.

Touchdown Guy was down early in the year. He was always a top scoring team but just faced the wrong teams at the wrong time. TDG finished the year #3 in scoring, so his 3-seed is right on the money. Bottom Bunk also finished where he scored. In fact he limped into the playoffs by scoring just enough to keep his lead over the #7 team Pistol. However, B.B. deserves the seeding he has, whether not he deserves more is up to him. Both of these teams were all in this year. Trades, trades, and more trades. TDG is relying on his biggest spend, two firsts to PeePaw for Derrick Henry is looking to be a great move. Another underrated move was a trade for Tim Patrick, a future late round fourth and a guy he was going to cut, Tim Patrick is a high end WR3 and is just the guy you need to fill out the end of your roster. TDG also added Adam Thielen to his roster (and a 2nd round pick), giving up a WR and RB 3 on their respective teams. These cornerstones, plus the tall Josh Allen will be needed to get the elusive first round playoff win. Touchdown Guy is my favorite of the Wild Card teams, the numbers support it. Bottom Bunk did things a little differently. He drafted a veteran team, then traded some of his younger players for more vets and depth, and then traded his wily vets for more depth. Unconventional, but he’s in the playoffs. B.B. took Dalvin Cook with his first pick of the draft. This pick is likely the best first round pick. B.B. then sought and traded for J.D. McKissic, who when the Football Team is down is a hit, when they are up he is a miss. With the Football Team playing the 49ers, it may be a boom or bust game for McKissic. With vets like Hilton and David Johnson, B.B. is hoping he keeps hitting his mark and TDG misses his. Right now, Touchdown Guy is a 25 point favorite. I think TDG takes it.

#4 CrossFit v. #5 PeePaw

v.

CrossFit had one of the most unusual drafts and then followed it with some bad injury luck. CrossFit drafted the oldest team and then had CMC, Ekeler, Mostert, and Dak all go down with injuries. CrossFit added other injuries to the mix, but none to as high of profile players. CrossFit started out hot despite the injuries due to Tyler Lockett’s early season success. CrossFit was formally the front runner, but as the season wore on those injuries eventually caught up to him. PeePaw is the underdog. No one finished hotter than PeePaw. Trading Derrick Henry and then still making the playoffs is an achievement of its own. A few savvy waiver moves and a swap of Melvin Gordon for A.J. Brown put PeePaw in a playoff position. CrossFit absolutely needs CMC and Ekeler to be healthy to move passed PeePaw. Additionally Amari Cooper Kupp will be critical to combat the production from PeePaw’s WRs. PeePaw is going to rely heavily on his WRs. Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, and even Brandin Cooks will need to put up big numbers to make up for the lack of RBs. Miles Sanders, if you are listening, now is the time to shine as a double digit production would do wonders to help balance out the scoring. Right now CrossFit is a 15 point favorite, however I like PeePaw’s WRs and think they continue to outscore projections and are enough to beat CrossFit.

Consolation Bracket Byes.

The importance of this is to determine compensatory picks. Picks 13, 26, 39, and 52 are up for grabs. To get a compensatory pick, you must make it passed the first week of the playoffs.

Locks for Compensatory Picks due to byes.

#7 Pistol and #8 Mush.

Pistol did everything he could to get in the mix of the playoffs. Unfortunately, he just missed. The reward is a guaranteed compensatory pick. Pistol has to like his odds, playing all these bad teams and David Montgomery is trending up. He might have peeked a little too late, but Pistol is promising.

Mush messed up. But if you look at Mush’s team, the Mongrels are young. He already has a good crop of young RBs, they just have to hit. The odds they hit increase as they get experience. Mush really drafted for a year 2 and on push, so his fringe playoffs was really his peak for a season, career wise he will be peaking over the next few years. That is the plan at least. Mush just needs a QB, but maybe he takes one with his comp pick. Mush benefited from an easy schedule all year, and now, there’s nothing easier than a first round bye.

#9 Trashman v. # 12 Bruce.

v.

Trashman is lucking out. It looks like Cam Akers is going to play more and more. His young RB hit. Zack Moss, well we don’t know, he is up and down. A Rob is good, but does he have a QB? Does Trashman have a QB? Is Baker back? Lot of questions, as there are with all consolation bracket teams. No question is bigger than who Bruce will take #1. Bruce winning here would really help as he needs some. Zeke and JT haven’t been who we all thought. But we thought Bruce would take Mahomes first. He didn’t, now he’s in last place. With Chris Godwin and D.J. Chark dinged up over the year, it is possible that Bruce is better than what his team showed. On paper he has to be better because you cannot get much worse. Bruce is going to be about a 2 point favorite come kickoff. I think Bruce wins it because Trashman has had issues with adjusting his lineup come gameday.

#10 JonnyDIII v. #11 Batman

v.

In my unbiased opinion, JonnyDIII is in the driver’s seat. He has top tier QBs, he has top tier WRs, he has some RBs, and a tight end. So it tapers off, but my goodness, pick 2 and pick 3? JonnyDIII can inject a STUD RB right into his lineup. And then he can follow it right up with another STUD. But for this matchup, JonnyDIII has to hope Kenny Drake and Devin Singletary have themselves a game. QB and WR are a lock, it’s that RB drop off that might hurt JD3 and his journey for 3 First Round Picks. Batman saw some inconsistent health out of James Conner that had him up and down throughout the season. Batman did what he needed to make the playoffs more chaotic. Batman will have an interesting offseason, where will Juju end up, will that help or hurt him? Batman does have a steal in D’Andre Swift who may be the only building block for the Lions in the years to come. Bob Woods, Fant, Waller, and Myles Gaskin all will decide how he does this week. The first two QBs drafted will face off, Patty Mac v. Lamar Jackson, who will get the better of the other? JD3 will be about a 9 point favorite come kickoff. I cannot pick this game, but JD3 will have a lot of teams rooting against him.

Consolation Bracket Games.

Now we have some picks.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 14 Prescription

New England Patriots at Los Angeles Rams -5

Minnesota Vikings at Tampa Bay Buccaneers O51.5

Baltimore Ravens -1.5 at Cleveland Browns

That’s all he said.

Last Week: 1-2

Season Record: 22-18-1

The Doc is flirting with .500, let’s hope he hits this week.

That about does it. Big news for JonnyDIII scooping Ty Johnson this week, lot of upset managers over it. JonnyDIII is in future mode and willing to stash guys. Hopefully, if you are in other leagues, you have some playoffs lined up, I know I do. Good luck and I will see you next week, until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 13 Recap

Good morning everyone, the Pot Cakes Dynasty League regular season has concluded. We wrap things up with the Week 13 recap. The subscribers have been asking about regular season awards. I usually am confused on when the regular season awards for the professional and amateur sports are announced, and in honor of that I will randomly release said awards (and come up with awards, any suggestions are welcomed) randomly next weekend or the following. During the playoffs, not during the Championship weekend. Let’s look at our recap, Dr. Tilt, and then the playoff picture. With the late night we got a quick read.

Again, one good, one bad, one surprising.

Game of the Week.

Bottom Bunk wet the bed versus Teach.

v.

With the playoffs on the line and some chaos needed to shake things up, this game of the week produced. Bottom Bunk had a good week from Dalvin Cook with 20. B.B. had a bad week personally, having traded for Christian Kirk who had 0.7 and benched Darrell Henderson who had 14.4 points. The surprising thing was the resurgence of T.Y. Hilton, he has a history of tearing up the Texans and is maybe worth the start two times a year. Teach is on break. One week bye baby. Former University of Iowa superstar T.J. Hockenson had a good week just shy of 12. In a position that has been so streaky across the fantasy football landscape Hock has been a hit. Bad was Tyreek Hill. Hill missed out on two touchdowns, one on his own and one due to a “holding” call. The surprising thing for Teach was having to say “You’re a Wonderful One” to Marvin Jones after his 21 point performance. Teach wins and gets a first round bye. Bottom Bunks future will be discussed later, Teach 125.47to 115.65.

PeePaw punched Trashman.

v.

PeePaw needed a big win and Trashman wanted to spoil. The WR group was good. Adams 29, Jefferson 22, and Aiyuk sealed the deal with 19. The bad thing was Miles Sanders, 3 points, what is going on in Philly? The surprising thing Le’Veon Bell only adding 6.5 points in a game where he was the RB1. Trashman season is over and he is on the outside looking in for Comp picks. Aaron Jones and Nick Chubb were good, adding 22 and 17. Zack Moss was bad, adding 1.9 points, he is lucky the fumble did not go against him otherwise it would have been a negative night. The surprising thing was Baker, 42 points. Sheesh, Baker was more than a pastry chef as he was cooking. The flame went out though, PeePaw wins 152.55 to 138.

Mush’s Mongrels melted against Batman.

v.

Mush has to look in the mirror. IN the playoffs, just needing a win. Mush played the 11th place team. Mush surely put up a fight? Mush decided his team was a heap and went with James Robinson who added a good 19 points. The bad was Fitz and Clyde, neither played. The surprising thing is the lack of competence by Mush. Season on the line and he doesn’t set a complete lineup. Batman bounced Mush. Batman had a good performance out of Laviska Shenault, adding 14. The Bad thing was a little bit of everyone, 7 of his 11 underperformed. The surprising thing was Darren Waller rising out of the ashes. He absolutely scorched the Jets with 200 yards and 2 TDs adding 38.5 points. Batman won 167.85 to 120.

Daddy Wombat doubted Touchdown Guy.

v.

Daddy Wombat is approaching a much needed first round bye. Losing Will Fuller may be the straw that broke the camel’s back. The good things was Alvin Kamara, who added 16 points and outscored his projection for the first time with Taysom as QB. The bad was Jerry Jeudy, while his star is bright, his QB situation has not been, Jeudy only added a point. The surprising thing is Todd Gurly, only adding 2.5 points, Gurley is slowly slipping out of RB1 consideration. Touchdown Guy is on a heater. The good thing is Tim Patrick, he is the only Denver WR who gets it done. The bad thing is if you are a door frame, because Josh Allen is so tall he will break you down like he did the San Francisco defense. The surprising thing was Derrick Henry, he was not even the RB1 on his team this week. An actual bad thing about TDG is that he wins, but still has to play next week and anything can happen in the playoffs. TDG wins 150.55 to 98.35.

Pistol pulled one on CrossFit.

v.

Pistol needed to win and some losing above. David Montgomery was good, adding 25 points. Darrius Slayton was bad, only adding 1.9. The surprising thing is that Pistol will miss the playoffs. He won, Mush and B.B. lost, but B.B. barely edged out Pistol in points. Tough one Pistol, enjoy your compensatory pick. CrossFit is crossed up. An all-time skid to end the season. The good thing is Wayne Gallman, he added a baker’s dozen to the scoreboard. The bad thing is Raheem Mostert, the 49ers could not get him in the end zone, which ultimately made him have a bad week. The surprising thing is that CrossFit is still scary, CMC should be back and that will only help CrossFit. Pistol won 139.71 to 136.05.

Bruce beat JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons.

v.

In a game that did not matter in the slightest, Bruce won. Ryan Tannehill was good for 40. Frank Gore was bad for 0.2. The surprising thing is Bruce added AP to his team and kept those 17 points on his bench. JonnyDIII had season high starts out of Jeremy McNichols and Donavan Peoples-Jones. The bad was Franchise QB Justin Herbert only adding 9 points to the mix. The surprising thing was the letdown of Andy Isabella, with Fitz out and a season high in snaps, Isabella only added 1.7 points. Bruce won 130.25 to 108.15.

Now we have some picks recap.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 13 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Week 13 Pot Cakes Dynasty League Preview. We surprisingly have a lot of spots “undecided”. Fantasy Football can swing drastically. All it takes is one dud for your team to tank and cost you the last playoff spot. We have our playoff picture mixed in with the preview. Realistically, Bottom Bunk, Mush, PeePaw, and Pistol in that order, all have a lot at stake this week. Mush and Bottom Bunk can win to get in. PeePaw and Pistol need a win and a loss or two. Let’s dive into our game of the week.

It is funny how the world works sometimes. Twelve weeks in the books and it all comes down to this. The final Game of the Week.

Bottom Bunk is trying to tuck in Teach.

v.

Some days I spend so much time staring blankly into the mirror wondering how Bottom Bunk is a potential playoff team that I am almost late for work. Then I am reminded that Dalvin Cook is a 20 point leader over D-Train and Kamara, and they are plus 30 on the next group of RBs. Dalvin Cook single handedly got B.B. to this point. The apex of B.B. career in dynasty, it all comes down to this. Why am I spending so much time talking about Cook? Well it is all B.B. has. B.B. will need a big week out of one of his non-WR1 WRs. Keelan Cole, T.Y. Hilton, Mike Williams, Christian Kirk, or Sterling Shepard. Someone has to help him out to help B.B. get to the playoffs. B.B. controls his own destiny as he is in a win and get in situation, a loss puts that in jeopardy. Teach, well he’s a lock. The return of Chris Carson is perfect for his playoff push, and potential first round bye. Teach has a lot to play for. Teach will need someone to give him a boom week, Teach’s team is dinged up with Ingram on the Covid list, Mixon on IR, and then D.J. Moore is on bye. He will need Tyreek Hill to have another huge week. Teach is a 9 point favorite and I am taking notes, Teach wins and gets a bye.

PeePaw takes on Trashman.

v.

This is another big game. PeePaw has the advantage and needs to win, and a loss from Mush or B.B. to possibly get in. PeePaw is relying on Miles Sanders to finally turn it around after a quiet return to the starting lineup. Brandin Cooks is the new #1 in Houston and should get a lot of targets. Davante Adams, A.J. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, and Justin Jefferson, are the youthful group of WRs that PeePaw hopes pushes him into the playoffs. Trashman does not have a lot to play for this week. He could play spoiler and end PeePaw’s playoff hopes. Aaron Jones, Nick Chubb, and A-Rob will all need big weeks to take out PeePaw. As of today, Trashman has a WR spot that he will need to fill. His backups and options are limited, we will have to see if a waiver move is on the table. PeePaw is likely going to be a 15 point favorite come kickoff. I like chaos, give me PeePaw in a tight one.

Mush’s Mongrel’s make their way to Batman.

v.

Mush controls his own fate. A win and he’s in. What a favorable matchup to do just that, taking on the projected 11th place team. Mush has Clyde, Jimmy Rob, and Antonio Gibby. These four backs should help Mush get to a comfortable floor for his point total. Big questions come up at the QB position and WR position. Dionte Johnson and Deebo will need to pick up the slack to get Mush into the playoffs. Josh Jacobs is OUT, this is great news for Pistol and PeePaw who need Mush to slip up. Batman has a real joker of a team. Winning has been his poison (ivy) this year. His point totals are in a (Mr.) freeze. Batman could be robin Mush of his playoff hopes and become the bane of Mush’s championship hopes if Batman pulls off the upset. How? I do not know, that is why I have stalled this far. Batman has Bob Woods, Ronny Jones, and Juju. Mush is a 40 point favorite, and I think he sneaks by.

Pistol pulls up to CrossFit.

v.

Pistol drew the short straw, needing a win, a tough matchup, and two losses above him. Pistol is still in the mix and has a promising squad to at least keep hopes alive for as long as possible. Pistol is looking at either a playoff punch or a compensatory pick. Kyler Murray should bounce back, Kareem Hunt has been great, and David Montgomery is making his case for league MVP, well at least for Week 12 of the Fantasy Football season, it is his only case, sample size of at least one game. Pistol is bringing out the big guns, as he is relying on Broadway Bob and Travis Kelce to get him some much needed points to take on CrossFit. CrossFit is in somewhat of a downward spiral. CrossFit is 1-4 in his last 5 matchups. The guy has Mitchell Trubisky as his starting QB this week. With Mostert and Ekeler back, I think CrossFit is the team to avoid all playoffs as he is looking for revenge. With CMC also gearing up for a comeback, CrossFit is going to cause some noise. Amari Cooper Kupp and Wayne Gallman are sneaky plays this week, Dalton likes Amari, Arizona doesn’t like defending, and Wayne Gallman has just been good. CrossFit is a 15 point favorite and I think Pistol will enjoy his compensatory pick, give me CrossFit.

Daddy Wombat dares Touchdown Guy.

v.

This game only matters to Touchdown Guy. Daddy Wombat is a lock at the 1-seed. D.W.’s whole team has tough matchups. Russ, Gurley, Kamara, D-Hop, Metcalf, and Claypool, all have red/tough matchups. This should cause a couple of those players to underperform. More importantly, Daddy Wombat will have to replace Will Fuller with either rookie Denzel Mims or rookie Gabriel Davis to fill out their roster. TDG is built different. He is third in points and finally his ranking shows that. TDG just needs to score points this week to get in. He has an outside shot of winning and Teach losing to get the #2 seed. As long as TDG scores a positive point total, he should at least get the 6-seed. TDG has the taller QB in Josh Allen, Derrick Henry is in full force, Tim Patrick is the only guy for the Broncos that produces, and Adam Thielen is back. This one will be within a point or two come kickoff either way once D.W. sets their lineup. Regardless, I think Touchdown Guy has the fire and desire to pull off a big win, give me TDG in a close one.

Bruce battles JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons.

v.

This was a projected game of the week. Bruce and JonnyDIII were fighting for that first pick. However, JD3 is too good and has separated himself from Bruce. Bruce has Frank Gore in his lineup, AP on his bench, Zeke in his lineup, and Fournette on bye. His best WR is D.J. Chark. JonnyDIII is onto the consolation bracket. JD3 has Jordan Howard on his bench despite the Eagles going up one of the worst run defenses in the Packers. With a move like that you have to wonder what JD3 has up his sleeve. Bruce is a big time favorite we will have to see if that stays that way.

Now we have some picks.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 13 Prescription

A short prelude from the desk of Dr. Tilt:

Dr. Tilt would like to apologize for his performance over the last few weeks.  After a blazing start to the season regression was expected but that is no excuse.  Some bad beats and extremely unfortunate luck has struck chosen games.  Dr. Tilt takes full responsibility and promises to be better.  Godspeed.

Detroit Lions +3 @ Chicago Bears

The Lions hated Matt Patricia.  Dr. Tilt discussed earlier this season the post head coach firing bump.  That’s the entire play here.  The Lions are awful, but so are the bears.  Lions play with heart and win in Chicago as the bears lose 6 straight.

Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona Cardinals +3

When your down on your luck gambling you need to get back to some traditional gambling roots.  The play here is take the home underdog.  A division game where both teams need a win.  Rams strength is rushing the passer but Dr. Tilt believes in Kyler Murray to bounce back and right the ship.  Take the points.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers O48.5

The Eagles offense is a mess.  Carson Wentz is a mess.  The Doc has the perfect prescription…. The Green Bay Packers defense.  You don’t need to worry about the Packers offense as they’ve scored over 30 in 8 of their 11 games this year.  That means you need roughly 17-20 from Philadelphia.  The pathetic Chicago Bears offense got 25 last week in Lambeau so expect a game in the high 50’s.

Last Week: 0-3

Season Record: 21-16-1

Let’s hope the Doc gets back on track.

Quick Playoff summary. Daddy Wombat is a lock for the 1-seed. Teach wins and he stays at the 2-seed and gets the week 14 bye. CrossFit and Touchdown Guy technically could lose so poorly they could miss the playoffs, but not likely. CrossFit and TDG also are in a good position to win and have Teach lose to claim the 2 or 3 spot. Bottom Bunk and Mush just have to win to get in. Mush has a much easier matchup. Either loses and PeePaw wins, he will jump. Pistol has to win and score a lot of points to be in contention. It is those 5-8 spots that could really swing. If you have questions, my DMs are open.

That does it, that is the last regular season preview. We will have a Week 13 recap, I might make some changes to the formatting. I have received some suggestions about things to do from one of my favorite subscribers. Good luck to those teams in the playoffs. Good luck to those who have other leagues and other playoff hopes. With that said, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 12 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Week 12 Pot Cakes Dynasty League Recap. What a week, full week. It was Thursday through Tuesday. We have special release dates for this recap, tonight, and the Week 13 Preview will be tomorrow. The final week, we have a recap, look at Dr. Tilt, playoff odds, and we finish with the final? Final regular season power rankings?

We are going to stay with the quick format, one good, one bad, and one surprising.

Co-Game of the Week.

Teach tore up PeePaw.

v.

The king of pop sang two songs about the Games of the Week. One was a Thriller, the other was Bad. This one was Bad. Teach had a good wek out of Aaron Rodgers against a tough Chicago secondary putting up 38. Teach should be in detention for starting Tony Pollard over Latavius Murray. The surprising thing the 50 burg from Tyreek Hill. PeePaw had a nice week out of his young WRs A.J. Brown and Justin Jefferson, 25 and 22 points a piece. The bad thing was deciding to play Kendall Hinton, what a bone headed move by PeePaw, something he decided all on his own I’m sure. The surprising thing is Jared Goff only putting up 7 points, what a bad week for a guy that just put up 37 points. Teach tore it up, winning 171.95 to 105.33. This put a huge wrench in PeePaw’s playoff hopes.

Co-Game of the Week.

Pistol bested Bottom Bunk.

v.

This was the real game of the week, an absolute Thriller. Pistol had a good week out of Broadway Bob adding 15.2 points. Kyler Murray finally had a bad week only adding 12 to the box score. Surprisingly, David Montgomery added a Jumpman to the scoring and was enough to put him over the edge. Bottom Bunk bottomed out. Watson gave him a great 46 points. Bad news in the RB department, Malcolm Brown had 1 point, McKissic added 3.7, and bell cow Dalvin Cook was dinged up and added 8.2 points. The surprising thing, well not much surprising here actually, it is surprising how B.B. is in the playoff picture without any real starters on his team. Pistol powers through and keeps his playoff hopes alive 109.5 to 104.8.

Daddy Wombat battled Bruce.

v.

Daddy Wombat the best team in the league played Bruce the bottom team. This matchup was not surprising at all. Daddy Wombat had a good showing from Will Fuller adding 32 points. The bad thing is Todd Gurley was out and added 0 points. The surprising thing was the PED suspension of Will Fuller that now puts Daddy Wombats championship hopes in question. Bruce had a good run with Frank Gore, adding 10 points. Bad news is Zeke is still struggling, only adding 2.4 points. What is surprising is that Bruce had such a bad week from Leonard Fournette, in a game where Tampa was down he still only had 3 receptions. What is more surprising is that Fournette caught all three passes. Daddy Wombat wins 110.6 to 91.65. Bruce is practically guaranteed the #1 pick, Daddy Wombat is guaranteed the #1 seed.

Batman took on Touchdown Guy.

v.

This game was over before it started. The good thing about Batman was Nelson Agholor adding 7.9 points. The bad thing was no one scored 10 points for Batman. The surprising thing was not playing Juju, Bob Woods, or Ronny Jones. It would not have mattered as Touchdown Guy is almost a lock for the playoffs. D-Train is good late in the year adding 37.5 points. The bad thing is MVS, Packers fans know, he added 0 points. The surprising thing is Tim Patrick adding 0 points, he is the surest thing for the Broncos receivers, and if Denver has a QB Timmy P will produce. TDG wins 127.35.

Trashman tackled CrossFit.

v.

Is Trashman back? CrossFit collapsing? Trashman had a good week out of the Cleveland Browns, Chubb added 25 and Landry added 24. The bad thing is Aaron Jones, he was under 10 points for the first time this year. The surprising thing was A. Rob going off even with Mitch at QB. CrossFit had a good week, but it was not good enough. Amari Cooper is good with Andy Dalton, adding 20 points. The bad thing was Cooper Kupp only adding 5 points. The surprising thing is how good Wayne Gallman has been, he put up a sweet sixteen. Trashman pulled through and won 158.05 to 136.65.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons mangles Mush’s Mongrels.

v.

A lot of people wanted JonnyDIII to win this week. He did not disappoint. JD3 had a big week from Patty Mahomes, Richard Petty numbers. The bad thing was Mikey Pittman had a rookie week with 3 points. The surprising thing was Kenny Drake, sheech, 22 points, is he the real deal? Mush was in need of a win. Mush had a great start to the week, Antonio Gibby put up 34 points and Jimmy Rob added 24 points. The bad thing was Dionte Johnson having only 8 of 15 projected points. This left him 2 points short. The surprising thing is how inconsistent Josh Jacobs is, he only had 4 points. JonnyDIII pulled through with a big win 141.7 to 139.95.

Now we have some pick recap.

Dr. Tilt’s Week 12 Prescription

Giants -5.5 @ Bengals

Nope.

Vikings -3.5 @ Carolina

Nope.

Chargers @ Bills Over 52.5

Nope.

It was another tough 0-3 week for the Doc. But this weeks Oh-Fer was more misfortune than bad picks. The Vikings managed to turn the ball over for touchdowns on back to back plays, only to still come back and win 28-27. The Bills and Chargers over came up short due to some awful coaching by Anthony Lynn and the gun-slinging QBs turning the ball over a bit too much. And then Danny Dimes ended up getting hurt for the Giants as the cherry on top of another rough week.

The Doc promises to be back on the winning side in Week 13. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s preview where the winners will be back.

Last Week: 0-3

Season Record: 20-16-1

Tough week for Dr. Tilt.

Now the Playoff Pictures.

Eliminated: Bruce, JonnyDIII, Batman, Trashman.

Playoff Bound: Daddy Wombat and Teach

Everyone else is up in the air.

#1 Daddy Wombat 10-2

Daddy Wombat LOCKED up the 1 seed and more importantly a round 1 bye.

#2 Teach 8-4

Teach is a lock for the playoffs and could help out the 7 and 8 seeds by beating Bottom Bunk this week. Teach wins this week, he gets the bye. If he loses and CrossFit and/or Touchdown Guy wins he drops behind them. Worst I see Teach dropping is to the 4 seed. In playoffs 100%.

#3 CrossFit 7-5

CrossFit controls his own fate, sort of. If he wins he stays as the 3 seed. If he wins and Teach loses he gets a bye. If he loses, he would have to lose and score negative points essentially as he has a comfortable lead on everyone. CrossFits worst scenario is losing and Mush, Bottom Bunk, and Touchdown Guy all winning. Then CrossFit falls all the way down to 6. CrossFit has a 99% chance of making the playoffs.

#4 Touchdown Guy 7-5

Touchdown Guy has a tough matchup against Daddy Wombat. Touchdown Guy loses he would need Mush to win, Bottom Bunk to win, Pistol to Win or PeePaw to win in such a great amount that he falls out of the playoffs. Not likely. Touchdown Guy wins and he just has to see how Teach and CrossFit fair, Teach loses he jumps him, same with CrossFit, win from either they stay above. He is almost a lock for the playoffs coming in at 98%.

#5 Bottom Bunk 7-5

Bottom Bunk has a tough matchup, playing a playoff team before the playoffs. B.B. wins to get in. B.B. loses and PeePaw wins, he might be out, it will come down to scoring. Same with Pistol, but Pistol needs 30 points. B.B. has a 51% chance of making the playoffs.

#6 Mush 7-5

Mush has the most favorable schedule. He has Batman this week. Mush wins he’s in. Mush loses he’s out, it’s that simple. Well if he loses and PeePaw or Pistol win, he’s out. Mush can move up with a win and a loss by B.B., TDG, and CrossFit, he wins they lose his record jumps them. Mush has a 50% chance to make it

#7 PeePaw 6-6

PeePaw has a nice matchup to hopefully sneak into the playoffs. Trashman is coming off of a big win, but will it last? PeePaw needs either Bottom Bunk or Mush to lose and for him to win. PeePaw loses he’s out. There is a crazy situation where if PeePaw wins and scores a ton, I mean like 200 points, and CrossFit or TDG lose and put up negative points, then maybe PeePaw sneaks in over one of them. PeePaw is in a must win situation. I give him a 33% chance of making the playoffs.

#8 Pistol 6-6

What a win for Pistol, he has CrossFit this week. Tough to win, especially when CrossFit is looking at that first round bye potentially. Pistol needs the same thing as PeePaw to happen, but he also has to deal with PeePaw. Pistol needs loses from two of these teams, Bottom Bunk, Mush, or PeePaw. He also can include those crazy high score low score situations like PeePaw, but again, he would need two teams above him to lose. Pistol needs points too, to get past Bottom Bunk. Pistols best chance is winning and Mush losing and PeePaw losing. Pistol has a 10% chance of making the playoffs.

For the remaining seeding, Trashman has a distant chance at getting the consolation bracket bye week. He would need a win and points on Pistol or PeePaw in a loss. That is his only chance. JonnyDIII could get a more favorable matchup if he wins and Trashman loses. Batman is going to be the 11 seed unless he wins and outscores JD3 by a lot and JD3 loses. Bruce has a slim chance of winning and outscoring Batman who has to lose by 41 points. The consolation bracket is pretty much set, except for who gets the bye week.

The last power rankings, is it a prediction into the playoff picture?

I think things stay the same, but PeePaw and Bottom Bunk swap spots.

That does it for Week 12. I will see you tomorrow for the final regular season preview. Until then, enjoy yourself, and I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
