Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Recap. Things are pretty even now. Three perfect teams, three winless teams, and the rest are split. We have an insane trade that happened. TDG traded for Demarcus Robinson. It doesn’t matter what the trade was for, anything for Demarcus Robinson is too much. That is the exciting news, but let’s take a look at last week and how the matchups ended up. We also have Professor Pickum to catch up on. Let’s dive in.

Game of the week.

v.

CrossFit v. Teach

CrossFit was out for revenge, Teach was looking to separate himself from the rest of the league. Teach saw his chances of winning fall apart on Thursday night. Unfortunately, Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion. This also hurt Tyreek’s and Waddle’s chances of putting up points. The trio combined for 23 points. Teach’s highlights were Brock Bowers with 14 and B-Rob matching. Teach flunked this week. CrossFit did not. Rasheed Shaheed had 19 points, St. Brown had 17, Barkley put up 16 points, Deebo had 15, and Ekeler had 11. The concern for CrossFit is that Travis Kelce had 1 point. What is going on with Kelce? Really, I may need to know for other leagues, can Kelce do something? CrossFit took it to Teach 107.69 to 88.95.

v.

Batman v. Mush Mongrels

Batman wasted a good score on Mush. James Cook and De’Von Achane put things away on Thursday night. They combined for 54 points. DeVonta Smith added 17 points on Monday night just to add insult to injury. Batman also saw Kyren putting up 14, 16 from McBride, and 11 from Olave. Pretty good week from Batman’s team. Mush saw 27 from Marvin Harrison, Jr. Batman gets an easy win 149.05 to 70.72. Mush has been the worst team in back to back weeks.

v.

Bruce v. Bottom Bunk

The matchup no body wanted. Bruce like Mush (not the best team to be mentioned in the same sentence with) saw his rookie WR Malik Nabers break out for 24 points. Zay Flowers got in the mix for 19, JT had 15, and Brian Thomas put up 10. A solid outing for Bruce’s young stars. Bottom Bunk almost hit 100 points. Too bad he didn’t. B.B. saw 21 from Breece Hall and 12 from Jameson Williams. Monday night B.B. needed a miracle, but he didn’t get one. B.B. saw 14 a piece from Bijan and Drake London. Bruce is still undefeated winning 114.7 to 99.5.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Trashman

TDG didn’t need much this week. TDG saw 21 from Godwin, 19 from Conner, 17 from Kittle, 16 from D-Train, and 13 from Jacobs. TDG is in a bit of a pinch. Cooper Kupp is hurt and Puka is hurt. These are two elite WRs that are banged up on TDG’s team. TDG will preserver, he always has. Trashman started two players that did not record a stat in Thornton and Watson. He also saw 1 point from Curty Sam. Pacheco scored 14, but he broke his ankle. Mason had 17 and Pierce added 14. It is not good for Trashman. TDG gets a win 118.85 to 76.9.

v.

PeePaw v. Daddy Wombat

The last thing anyone wants is for PeePaw to get hot. PeePaw was lead dog this week (spoiler that D.W. does not win this week). PeePaw was mocked by some for his Kamara trade, well who is laughing now? Kamara had 43 points. Davante put up 22 points, Jefferson had 21, CeeDee had 17, Rice had 16, and Monty added 15. What a week for PeePaw’s guys. Keon Coleman, the best rookie with a mic in his face, needs the ball to be thrown in his face. Coleman had no points. D.W. saw 24 points from Metcalf and 18 from JSN. What a weekend for the Seattle duo. Jeudy even added 10. None of that would matter as PeePaw put up 160.9 to D.W.’s 101.35.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Pistol

JD3 needed one. Pistol needed to stay hot. One of those things happened. QB matchup was a wash. Mahomes had 20 and Stroud had 21. Sing, Etienne, and Dobbins had 47. Ford, Gibbs, and Javonte had 30. That’s a big swing. Nico had 24 from JD3 and no one hit double digits for Pistol. A.J. Brown was a late scratch and that hurt Pistol. JD3 got one this week, 112.35 to 76.9.

Professor Pickum needed to hit it this week, let’s see how he did.

Week 2 Answer Sheet

Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins Under 49

  • BANG!

Seattle Seahawks -3.5 @ New England Patriots

  • Nope.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Carolina Panthers Under 39

  • BANG!

Professor Pickum is now even on the year at 3-3 after going 201 this week.

Week 2 is in the books. Slowly we should see the teams separate themselves from one another. I don’t think Mush is moving off that last place spot anytime soon. Until next time, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Preview. We are a week in and things are getting juicy already. We can only guarantee that one team will remain unbeaten after this week. It is going to be disgusting that one of those teams is undefeated. We won’t waste much time, we will get into the picks, Professor Pickum, and our new power rankings.

Game of the week.

v.

CrossFit v. Teach

CrossFit is looking to get right after a tough week 1 matchup. CrossFit will have to make the decision between Goff, Dak, and Fields. He also has to find a replacement for CMC who is not likely to play in Week 2. However, CrossFit does have Barkley, Deebo, and St. Brown to rely on. CrossFit will need to see more out of Kelce, Lockett, and Cooper. Rachaad White is known for his yardage, but a TD never hurt anyone. Teach is looking to stay hot. Tua, Tyreek, and Waddle need to be on each week for Teach to compete. Mixon, Aaron Jones, and Stevenson all had monster weeks and he needs two of the three to do the same. The rest, doesn’t really matter, Teach just needs his stars to perform. Right now CrossFit is a 6 point favorite, I think he gets it done this week. Miami is playing on a short week, those usually do not result in high end fantasy productions.

v.

Batman v. Mush Mongrels

We have our game of the week and then the biggest blowout of the week. Batman is coming off of a low scoring victory. I think he wants to prove a point this week and he’s facing the best opponent to do such. Batman has Lamar, James Cook, Kyren, Achane, DeVonta Smith, and Olave. He needs to see his young WRs perform. Mush is just counting down the weeks until the draft. Mush has *checks notes* no one. Batman is a 46 point favorite. I think he sneaks by in this week 2 matchup.

v.

Bruce v. Bottom Bunk

The battle of the unbeatens. Bruce and Bottom Bunk, just like we all predicted. Bruce has Jayden Daniels, JT, Najee, Zeke, D.J. Moore, Flowers, and Likely. Bottom Bunk has AR15, Breece, Bijan, Drake, and Pickens. Both teams are volatile. Both teams have false hope right now by being undefeated. The ball will drop for one of these teams, but the question remains, which one? Bruce is a 3 point favorite and I think he gets it done again this week relying on JT.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Trashman

TDG is coming off of almost being lead dog. Trashman is coming off of a bad week. Things are not going to get better for Trashman. TDG has Josh Allen, Josh Jacobs, James Conner, Evans, Godwin, and Kupp. The Puka replacement for this week will be Tee Higgins. That is a pretty good replacement. Trashman does not have a lot of players projected to go over 10 points. Trashman has Pacheco, Moss, and LaPorta. Trashman would need Randy Moss instead of Zack Moss to compete this week. TDG is a 56 point favorite, I think he gets it done.

v.

PeePaw v. Daddy Wombat

Neither of these teams have a win. Based on the paper, PeePaw should win, based on luck, PeePaw should lose. There is no team in the history of PCDL that has had worse luck than PeePaw. It could be traced back to PeePaw claiming that Justin Herbert would not outscore Patrick Mahomes a few years back. However, I think the curse will not apply to this week. These two teams also made a trade. PeePaw send Gus Bus and a 2nd to D.W. for Alvin Kamara. This additional run support should help PeePaw, and also remove D.W. from winning consideration. It was a good trade by both teams. PeePaw is rolling, Herbert, Monty, Kamara, Adams, Jefferson, Lamb, with a side of Rice. That should be more than enough fire power to overcome D.W. D.W. has Hurts, Worthy, and Metcalf. While those few did not all perform this last week, I don’t think it will matter what they do this week. PeePaw should get it done. PeePaw is a 28 point favorite this week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Pistol

JD3 lost a close one and Pistol had a big win. Pistol is looking to make his playoff push. JD3 is trying to salvage a season. JD3 has Mahomes, Sing, Etienne, Dobbins, Diggs, Chase, and Nico. Pistol has Stroud, Walker, Ford, A.J. Brown, Wilson, Reed, and Gibbs. Pistol also has a competent tight end in Pitts or Kincaid, so clear advantage to Pistol there. Pistol is a 5 point favorite, this is a must win for Pistol this week. I would think Pistol gets it done, but we will have to wait and see.

Professor Pickum is back. Last week he was 1-2 and can hardly get worse. Let’s see if he can bounce back and make some good picks for once.

Week 2 Study Guide

Before I jump in **** Will Levis (editorial reminder this is a family friendly blog). Okay, onward:

Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins Under 49

Hypothesis:

  • For sucha high powered offense in the Dolphins, you might be surprised to know that they have gone under in six of their last games, they have only exceeded this total twice.
  • Bills on the other side have a solid defense and still looing for their identity with new young weapons on offense.
  • Primetime Unders aren’t fun but they hit and they are back on TNF this week.

Seattle Seahawks -3.5 @ New England Patriots

Hypothesis:

  • Fade this public pick of the week. 85% of bets are coming in on New England after their upset over Cincy in Week 1. However, a whopping 90% of money is on Seattle.
  • I see it more likely that the Pats are who we thought they were and that Seattle won’t let them off the hook. I’ll side with the sharps on this one.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Carolina Panthers Under 39

Hypothesis:

  • Chargers Unders will be ridden until the wheels fall off (or when they play a competent offense).

We have our all new power rankings. Bad news for teams that failed to hit 100 last week, trades help, and record does not mean you’re good.

That does it for Week 2, hopefully we have better football on the television this week, but any football is good football. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. We will see you after all the games with the Week 2 Recap.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Recap. It was a pretty messy start to the year. A lot of top end talent did not show up. That doesn’t mean that teams aren’t looking to blow it up already. The waiver wire should be interesting, a few forgotten vets put up ok numbers. Let’s dive into our matchups and how Professor Pickum ended up.

Game of the week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Batman

I don’t think either team is really thrilled with how their teams performed. However, one team wins and the other loses. JD3 saw 10 and 15 from the Diggs and Nico stack. Etienne had 11 and Mahomes mustered out 22 points. That is not great. Lot of players under 10 points. Cade Otton had 1 point and the tight end position will continue to haunt JD3, however, Terry McLaurin’s 3 points is not acceptable. JD3 did leave J.K. Dobbins on the bench which would have won him the week, Dobbins had 21 points. Batman started out hot with 32 from Lamar. Kyren Williams finished it off with 13. Achane continued to stay hot with 20. James Cook and DeVonta Smith had a dozen a piece. Batman continues his winning streak. Batman will have better weeks out of Olave, who only had 2 points despite the Saints scoring 47 points. I think Batman will have better weeks, but he did just enough to get the week 1 win 106.85 to 96.15.

v.

CrossFit v. Touchdown Guy

CrossFit was out of shape week 1. Saquon started off Friday with 23 points. That was one of the few highlights for CrossFit. Rachaad White put up 14 and Lockett added 11. However, Goff did not hit 20, CMC was ruled out late, St. Brown had 3, and Kelce only had 5. Deebo ended Monday with 16. TDG is back for a final run. Josh Allen, QB1 on the week had 39. Mike Evans had 21 and Godwin added 18. Cooper Kupp had 25 and Puka had 6 with his injury. James Conner just plays football each week and put up 18. Ladd managed 12 points in his rookie debut. D-Train and Jacobs each had 11. Kittle ended Monday night with 6. TDG did not mess around in the opener. Taking it to CrossFit 167.6 to 102.55.

v.

Teach v. Mush’s Mongrels

Teach was lead dog all week, despite TDG’s late push. Mush’s guys would have played harder if they didn’t go up against the #2 team on the week. Teach saw a late Dolphins surge, Tua, Tyreek, and Waddle had 64 points, handcuffing Mush’s chances to win right away. Mixon added 25, Aaron Jones had 18, Polard had 17, Stevenson had 20, and Shakir had 12. I mean Teach put on a clinic. Mush is waiting for the right moment to strike. Teach wins 167.8 to 42.95.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. PeePaw

This matchup would come down to Monday night, B.B. and Breece versus PeePaw and Aiyuk. It’s too bad B.B. doesn’t get credit for style points, Anthony Richardson had arguably the greatest throw in week 1. AR had 33 points. Bijan had a good start to the year with 14 and Pickens even added 11. The surprise was Jameson Williams 22 points. The guy finally is playing football and doing it well. B.B. held a 1 point lead heading into Monday night. PeePaw didn’t have any booms in his lineup, but didn’t really have any dooms either. Herbert and Mostert are arguably dooms with 16 and 3 points. Monty’s OT TD gave him 16 points. Lamb added 16. Rice and Jefferson each had 14 points. It would come down to Breece v. Aiyuk. Breece had 16 and Aiyuk had 4 giving Bottom Bunk the win 108.2 to 94.8.

v.

Pistol v. Daddy Wombat

Guns blazing, Pistol came out firing. Jayden Reed put up 31 and A.J. Brown added 20 on Friday, accounting for more than 50% of D.W.’s points. Stroud had 27, Ken Walker had 18, Ford had 16, Gibbs with 15, and Pitts with 10. Quite the start for Pistol who is looking to add a piece and make a playoff push this year. D.W. followed up last seasons Week 1 start of an RB that was not playing with the same this year. Roschon Johnson was ruled out for Week 1 and was in the starting lineup for D.W. Kamara and Xavier Worthy both had 20 points. Hurts added 25 and Jeudy had 10. If I’m D.W. I’m cashing in on Kamara’s performance. Pistol wins this one 151.6 to 97.8.

v.

Trashman v. Bruce

This was an ugly game mainly because someone is trying to tank again despite rules against it. Trashman’s team is just bad, but that makes sense since he did trade away Aaron Jones in an effort to rebuild. Pacheco had 15 and Zack Moss added 13. Jalin Hyatt and Luke Musgrave both had 0 points. Bruce is trying to tank again. Playing Blake Corum over Isaiah Likely is an obvious tank job. Bruce did see 13 from Brian Thomas Jr., 12 from Zek, and 11 from JT. Bruce won 81.3 to 70.6 in a matchup that neither team deserved to win.

Let’s see how Professor Pickum did in Week 1.

Week 1 Answer Sheet

Washington Commanders +3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tennessee Titans +4 @ Chicago Bears

  • Nope.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers Under 40.5

  • BANG!

Professor Pickum is 1-2 on the season and 1-2 overall.

That does it for this week. Tough start for some playoff contenders. Others are starting right where they left off. Week 2 should provide a little more insight on if teams are throwing in the towel on the season. It should be noted that the top 6 teams move on, there are no conferences. Simply win to get in. We will see you tomorrow with the matchups, Professor Pickum and new power rankings.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Preview. The 2024 fantasy season is underway. We had a summer. Maybe still waiting on putting together a rookie draft recap, maybe we just brush it under the rug, who knows? Let’s just say things snuck up on some people. Entering year 5 of this dynasty, we have 4 prior champions. Will we see someone new, or will one of the greats reclaim the throne? Batman was last years champion, put together an incredible playoff run. Batman was hot all season, but really lit it up in the playoffs. It’s his league to lose. Let’s dive into the matchups, Professor Pickum, and a power rankings.

Game of the week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Batman

What a way to start the season. The Champion versus a former Champion. Batman took first last year and JonnyDIII took 4th. JonnyDIII is known for playoff collapses but stellar regular seasons. Batman is known for being handsome and quietly winning a lot of games. The app has Batman projected as the 4th best and JonnyDIII as the 7th best team in the league. Good for these teams, the app is always wrong. JD3 has Mahomes and Batman has Lamar. Pretty equal QB matchup. The RB matchup favors either Etienne and Singletary or James Cook, Kyren Williams, De’Von Achane, and D’Andre Swift. I think this slightly swings in Batman’s favor with 3 great running backs and one that should be solid. While Batman blows JD3 away in the RB matchup, things swing JD3’s way at WR. Diggs, Pittman, Nico, Chase, McLaurin, and Keenan Allen versus DeVonta Smith, Diontae Johnson, and Chris Olave. While Batman does have good WRs, JD3 has a slight edge at top end talent plus depth. Tight Ends do not matter, but Batman is starting 2, which is never a good sign in fantasy football. JD3 is favored by 6, but this one will go down to the wire.

v.

CrossFit v. Touchdown Guy

Similar to the game of the week, we have our other former champion versus former champion. Both of these teams are aging, their window is closing, this game will set the tone for their potential swan song. CrossFit is the projected lead dog of week 1, with TDG right behind him. CrossFit has the Goff and St. Brown stack. CMC, Barkley, Ekeler, Deebo, Amari, Kelce, and Mike Williams. CrossFit also made a trade for Rachaad White. CrossFit is geared up for another championship run. TDG is running it back. Josh Allen, D-Train, Jacobs, Conner, Higgins, and Kittle. TDG also has the double stack of Puka and Kupp and Godwin and Evans. While not helpful for TDG in week 1, keep an eye on Ladd McConkey. TDG struck gold with Puka and is looking to do it again with the Ladd. CrossFit is the favorite by a point, I think CrossFit sneaks out week 1. Goff knows who he is throwing to and Allen will have to figure it out. TDG will have a “slow” start to the season, but would still beat the majority of the teams if not for the difficult week 1 matchup.

v.

Teach v. Mush’s Mongrels

We just went through two great matchups. Now we are looking at the biggest disparity in week 1. This is a trap game for Teach, Mush is known to be one of the worst dynasty managers (and commissioners) in the nation. To loosely quote one of Mush’s icons, any publicity is good publicity, so being nationally ranked is an accomplishment no matter how you look at it. Teach is hoping that the Phins are hot again this year. Teach has the rare triple stack with Tua, Tyreek, and Waddle. Teach also has B-Rob, Pollard, and Stevenson. This is a really gross group of running backs. It will not be fun to watch, but they will still manage points. This is similar to a yellow and black Big 10 team. Teach does have Mixon, who should help an already explosive Houston offense. Teach rounds out his team with Shakir, Christian Kirk, and Brock Bowers. Teach starting a rookie TE is not a good sign, but he has to wait for Hock to get healthy. Mush has Aaron Rodgers and Marvin Harrison, Jr. Mush has a young team. Benson should develop, but he’s not going to do much behind Conner. Adonai Mitchell is a rookie, but Richardson is pretty much a rookie and Pittman should still be the lead receiver in Indy. Josh Palmer could be good, but we’ve been saying that for three years now. I think Mush is going to just set his line up each week and wait for next years draft. I expect Mush to use a lot of his weekends watching Missouri, Ohio State, Arizona, and Colorado to see which player he takes in 10/11 months. Teach is projected to win by 50, and Mush is not expected to hit 100. I will take Teach this week.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. PeePaw

The app has Bottom Bunk as a playoff team. This should be reassuring for anyone that is worried about AI taking over anytime soon. PeePaw is looking to get back in the mix after a brutal end of year stretch last season. B.B. has some young talent. AR, Breece, Bijan, Drake, Jameson Williams, Pickens, Odunze, and Ferguson. B.B. needs all of these young players to hit each week. I do not see it happening. I see a better team than we have in the past, but if you just scroll down to B.B.’s bench, there is no one there. B.B. needs to start out 4-0 because the middle of the season will be rough. PeePaw needs an early start just to get out of his head this year. Herbert, Monty, Warren, Lamb, Aiyuk, Rice, Davante, Ridley, Jefferson, and Schultz. It’s a solid lineup. I know all of those guys. Th RBs are backups, but they are in timeshares. Gus Edwards is hiding out on the bench for week 1 as we see who is the guy for LAC. PeePaw has a competitive team, the difference will be if Herbert can return to form and put up TDs. PeePaw is a 10 point favorite, I think he wins this week.

v.

Pistol v. Daddy Wombat

Pistol is looking to make a push. He is heavy on the trade block. Daddy Wombat added a manager to their team. That is the spot they are in. That should be a concern, needing to add a manager. Pistol has the young QB in Stroud, young RBs in Gibbs, Javonte, and Ken Walker. He also has young receivers in Garrett Wilson and Jayden Reed and young TEs in Kincaid and Pitts. Pistol has a solid team, next year should be Pistol’s year. A.J. Brown is the sole vet that should put the team on his back each week. That is what Pistol is missing this year, a reliable vet. This young team should make a run this year and Pistol will start out the year 1-0. D.W. has hurts, Kamara, and Metcalf. Why D.W. still has Kamara, I do not know. D.W. also has JSN, Dell, and Worthy. I think those three young players should help out D.W. down the road. If D.W. can continue to build, maybe they look like Pistol in a couple years. Time will tell. Pistol is a 30 point favorite and this one will not be close.

v.

Trashman v. Bruce

This matchup is for the sickos out there. Trashman and Bruce are just gross. Trashman has T-Law, Moss, Allgeier, Christian Watson, and Curtis Samuel. These are historically pretty gross players. Aaron Jones, Pacheco, and LaPorta are all studs. Trashman should look to trade Jones and possibly Pacheco. Trashman also has Chubb in his IR spot. Chubb would be another trade option for Trashman. A mini rebuild would be great for Trashman. While Trashman’s team is a dump, if he recycled some players for picks, he would be in a brighter spot. Bruce cut his former 1st round rookie pick Justyn Ross. Bruce has Burrow, J.T., Flowers, and D.J. Moore. Those are solid. Najee and Zeke are gross. Blake Corum is not reliable yet. Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. need some time. Engram should be ok, but tight ends do not matter. Bruce is in the worst spot, he’s better than the bad teams but not the good teams. Bruce intentionally tanked last year and still did not end up with the top pick. Bruce caused a rule change due to his intentional tanking. A good commissioner would have kicked Bruce out of the league, but either way Bruce will be punished for years to come with his ineptness in the draft, rookie draft, trade block, and overall day to day life. However, Bruce is a 10 point favorite and will win week 1 and find himself in no mans land in the 2025 rookie draft.

Professor Pickum is back. Last year he went 25-19 overall. Which is solid, but Professor Pickum is not satisfied. Let’s see if he can beat last years record.

Week 1 Study Guide

Washington Commanders +3 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Hypothesis:

  • You might be thinking “The Ole Professor has lost it in the off-season.” The Commanders were one of the WORST teams in the league last year, whereas, the Bucs won a playoff game! And that’s true. So ask yourself this, why is such a bad team only getting 3 points on the road? Answer, Past performance does not indicate future results.
  • Gimme the road dog with something to prove in their new era.

Tennessee Titans +4 @ Chicago Bears

Hypothesis:

  • Caleb Williams doesn’t feel pressure, but maybe he should.
  • Give me the points in what I expect to be a sloppy affair between two teams trying not to look as bad as they have been.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers Under 40.5

Hypothesis:

  • Chargers under a new system, run heavy.
  • I’ll take the gamble (little pun from the Professor) that they start slow against a great defense.

Now for the preseason power rankings. This is the expected finish of the league this year (which may or may not be exclusively ranked on the week 1 point projections but will still somehow upset people).

Well that does it for Week 1. The quest for the championship trophy starts now. Good luck in all your leagues and may the fantasy gods be in your favor. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. We will see you after all the games with the Week 1 Recap.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Mock Draft 2024

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Mock Draft. Better late then never. Lot of life has happened since the PCDL Championship, but we are right back to it. This is the least prepared I’ve been entering a draft, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t make predictions from a keyboard. Let’s dive right into it and see where some future dynasty players fall.

Pick 1 – Chicago Bears (from Carolina)

Caleb Williams – QB – USC

Not a lot of surprise here, Bears need a QB, Caleb is a QB. Williams is arguably the best prospect in the draft. The reason why I would not take Williams here is that the average QB height is 6’3, Williams is only 6’1. Much like the last 20 years, the Bears and Williams will come up short of the playoffs for the foreseeable future.

Pick 2 – Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels – QB – LSU

Daniels is a dual threat QB. If it weren’t for Reggie Bush, Daniels would be the most recent Heisman winner. While all the focus was on Williams this year, Daniels had a better season. Daniels flaw is that he takes a lot of shots. An absolute electric factory, but does not know how to take a hit. In a division with a guy like Micah Parsons, Daniels will want to learn how to get down fast.

Pick 3 – New England Patriots

Drake Maye – QB – North Carolina

Maye was the former #1 prospect, Maye fell off. Maye is a boring pick, but that is why it makes the most sense for the Pats. This mayebe NFL fans favorite pick of the draft. The Pats were the team to beat and now they beat themselves (not a Drake reference) by failing to draft a quality QB.

Pick 4 – Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. – WR – Ohio State

While last year there was a lot of movement, I think the top picks stay put. Harrison is a sure thing. The Cardinals need help everywhere. Kyler needs a #1. Harrison will easily step in here and be the Cards #1 WR and everyone’s #1 dynasty pick.

Pick 5 – Minnesota Vikings (trade from Los Angeles Chargers)

Trade – Minnesota Trades Pick 11, 23, and a future second for Pick 5

J.J. McCarthy – QB – Michigan

The Vikings have two options. They either trade up for a QB and try to convince Justin Jefferson to stay, or they sit tight and ensure J.J. leaves or demands a trade. The Vikings really have to make a move and with 3 QBs already off the board, I think they make their move here. McCarthy doesn’t have a lot of flash, which is the perfect replacement for Kirk.

Pick 6 – New York Giants

Malik Nabers – WR – LSU

Not too much excitement in the first 6 picks. Nabers is the clear WR2 in a WR heavy draft. The Giants are likely to separate from Daniel Jones in the near future, Nabers is known for separating from the defense and the Giants will be just plum with this pick.

Pick 7 – Tennessee Titans

Joe Alt – OT – Notre Dame

The Titans have not been the same since the injury bus hit Taylor Lewan. The Titans are in a mini rebuild with a potential franchise QB, they should find that out by addressing up their O-Line. With no alternative to who the best OT is in the draft, this is an easy pick for Tennessee.

Pick 8 – Atlanta Falcons

Laiatu Latu – Edge – UCLA

The Falcons went with Bijan last year, making a big splash. I think this year they balance things out and go with the first defensive player in the draft. Latu is ranked across the board as the best edge rusher in the draft. I think hot Lanta adds Latu.

Pick 9 – Chicago Bears

Dallas Turner – Edge – Alabama

The Bears will trade this pick back if there is a fourth QB on the board. However, the Bears think they are going to turn the corner and get into the playoff mix in the near future. Turner is a pick you don’t have to sweat, which makes him a good addition to the other pass rushing in the windy city.

Pick 10 – New York Jets

Olumuyiwa Fashanu – OT – Penn State

The Jets need O-Line help. Olumuyiwa allowed zero sacks in his college career which is something Rodgers hopes can last at least another drive into the season. Some scouts have Olumuyiwa ahead of Alt in the rankings, either way the Jets address the O-Line with this pick and hope they can stay healthy this year.

Pick 11 – Los Angeles Chargers (trade from Minnesota Vikings)

Trade – Chargers gave up pick 5 for the Vikings Picks 11, 23, and a future second.

Rome Odunze – Washington – WR

The Chargers have a luxury pick here. With two early seconds, the Chargers can address a huge need with trading Allen and releasing Williams. Herbert needs a WR. The Chargers are hoping to see more results from Odunze than they did from Johnston last season. Regardless, the Chargers have two young weapons for their promising QB Herbert.

Pick 12 – Denver Broncos

Jared Verse – Edge – Florida State

The Broncos having already addressed the QB situation by trading for Zach Wilson, they just need to go best available. The Broncos need defensive help. Verse is arguably the best available here. One of the keys to success in football is to pressure the quarterback. This is something Jared is well versed in and maybe someone that brings back a Von Miller type feel to mile high.

Pick 13 – Las Vegas Raiders

Cooper DeJean – CB – Iowa

The Raiders are known for making splash picks in the first round. I think DeJean would be a splash pick. While the Raiders normal draft based on speed, this year they draft on need. The need for a versatile DB that can play outside, slot, or safety.

Pick 14 – New Orleans Saints

JC Latham – OT – Alabama

Saints need O-Line help, Alabama is right next door, Latham is good. The Saints are taking an OT here. I’m not sure which one, but I think they are locked in here and its O-Line.

Pick 15 – Indianapolis Colts

Terrion Arnold – CB – Alabama

Back to back Bama players. Colts need some help on the defensive side of things.

Pick 16 – Seattle Seahawks

Byron Murphy II – DT – Texas

A division that just lost Aaron Donald, the Seahawks look to have the next best thing. Macdonald is a defensive coach. There is a lot of bias in the first year head coach’s first draft pick. A defensive guy gets a defensive player. Murphy might be the second in his family, but he is #1 on the D-Tackle board.

Pick 17 – Philadelphia Eagles (trade from Jacksonville)

Trade – Eagles Trade pick 22 and a future second for Jacksonville’s Pick 17

Quinyon Mitchell – CB – Toledo

I’m not a trade expert, but I like the Eagles to jump up slightly to grab arguably the #1 CB on the board. Mitchell is a burner. The Eagles need secondary help. With the other two CBs off the board the Eagles need to make a mini splash to clean up any Q’s on their defense.

Pick 18 – Cincinnati Bengals

Jer’Zhan Newton – DT – Illinois

The Bengals went from no O-Line to no D-Line. The Bengals were one of the worst run defenses in the league last year. And to any action there is always an opposite and equal reaction, the Bengals change things with Newton.

Pick 19 – Los Angeles Rams

Nate Wiggins – CB – Clemson

Wiggins was the fastest corner in the draft. The Rams were torched last year. Wide receivers won’t have as much wiggle room with Wiggins flying around in the secondary. The Rams would rather have a QB or a DT, but if they sit tight, they might have to adjust their draft day pick.

Pick 20 – Pittsburgh Steelers

Troy Fautanu – OG – Washington

The Steelers need to address their line. While the Steelers could take the 4th OT on the board, I think they take the best available interior lineman. It’s a safe pick, it’s a need, no reason to reach back unless it’s to trade.

Pick 21 – Miami Dolphins

Graham Barton – C – Duke

The Dolphins need O-Line help. Graham started a lot at tackle but he’s smore than that. He can go inside or outside. The Dolphins need help across the board and Barton can fill any one of those spots.

Pick 22 – Jacksonville Jaguars (trade from Philadelphia)

Trade – Eagles traded Pick 22 and a future second for Jacksonville’s Pick 17.

Brian Thomas Jr. – WR – LSU

The Jags could address either side of the line, but Lawrence needs another weapon. Brian Thomas scored a lot of TDs last year and is fast. With a 4.3 40, Lawrence can just throw it up and hope.

Pick 23 – Los Angeles Chargers (trade from Minnesota Vikings)

Trade – Chargers gave up pick 5 for the Vikings Picks 11, 23, and a future second.

Amarius Mims – OT – Georgia

Harbaugh loves to run the ball. The Chargers need O-Line help. Mims is 6’8, there is just no way Harbaugh turns down a chance to draft a human being of this size.

Pick 24 – Buffalo Bills (trade with Dallas Cowboys)

Trade – Cowboys give up Pick 24 for Buffalo’s Pick 28, 133 and a future 3rd.

Xavier Legette – WR – South Carolina

The Bills storm up in the draft to grab a WR having traded away Diggs. This is a drastic and unnecessary move, but the Bills haven’t always made the said or done the right things. I think they make a mini move to show that trading Diggs wasn’t a huge mistake.

Pick 25 – Green Bay Packers

Taliese Fuaga – OT – Oregon State

The Packers are going to make a safe pick this year. O-Line is the safest pick. No one can get too emotional over this pick, but this name will be tough to say after a few Miller Lites (not a sponsor). Bahkti is gone, the Packers faugetta bout him with Taliese.

Pick 26 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chop Robinson – Edge – Penn State

Pirates are known for chopped off limbs and robbing people. Chop Robinson is a perfect fit and also takes care of the Buccaneers pass rush concerns.

Pick 27 – Arizona Cardinals (from Houston)

Kool-Aid McKinstry – CB – Alabama

The Cardinals will have an exciting rookie camp with their two firsts. Kool-Aid is the best draft name since Hollywood Brown.

Pick 28 – Dallas Cowboys (trade from Buffalo)

Trade – Cowboys give up Pick 24 for Buffalo’s Pick 28, 133 and a future 3rd.

Adonai Mitchell – WR – Texas

The Cowboys knew they could address a number of concerns by just sliding back a little. They could go anywhere on the O-Line, D-Line or WR. Jerry is not known to trade back, so he still has to make the draft about him. Mitchell runs a 4.3 and went to Texas. Jerry is going to really sell this pick despite line being a bigger concern for the Cowboys.

Pick 29 – Detroit Lions

Kris Jenkins – DT – Michigan

If Dan Campbell proved anything last year is that prospect rankings don’t matter. The Lions need D-Line help, Jenkins can provide that. The pressure Hutchinson provides on the outside should allow Jenkins to get better matchups and hopefully result in being a better pass rusher than he was at Michigan.

Pick 30 – Baltimore Ravens

Tyler Guyton – OT – Oklahoma

The Ravens need O-Line. The Ravens typically will grab a defensive guy, but Lamar is too important to not provide the help needed. Guyton is the guy to help the Ravens a ton.

Pick 31 – San Francisco 49ers

Jordan Morgan – OT – Arizona

San Fran needs to keep Purdy upright and just trust the offense. Another option here would be to address CB, but I think they take more shots later on in the draft at that position.

Pick 32 – Kansas City Chiefs

Xavier Worthy – WR – Texas

With Rice facing a possible suspension and question marks across the board at WR, Xavier is worthy of a shot here. He’s fast, running a 4.2. The Chiefs will continue to draft speedy WRs until they find their next Tyreek Hill.

Well that does it for the Mock, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. We will do a quick run down of the first round following the draft and how that impacts dynasty rankings. If you have a high dynasty pick, probably go with a WR. This is not a great draft for RBs.

Let’s go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Recap. We crown our champion. What a champion indeed, arguably our greatest champion. We also have third place and some consolation picks to give out, but who cares about that.

Championship Game

v.

#2 CrossFit v. #6 Batman

CrossFit left his pre-workout at home. CrossFit did not check his lineup in time Thursday night. Amari Cooper took home a 0 in CrossFit’s WR1 spot. But, CrossFit has a stacked team, no way his lack of pre-game response would be the sole source of his demise right? Dak had 30, that’s great for a championship game. St. Brown put up 19, which is incredible for a championship performance. Deebo even had 16, which is great for how bad Deebo has been at times. CrossFit went all in for Deebo and he needed a solid performance, and he got one. CMC had 11, what a let down. Ekeler had 4, starting two tight ends for a total of 9 points? Yikes. CrossFit really fell off in the week that matter most. Batman needed to rise to the occasion. Batman has been hot as of late, the young team wanted it so bad. Lamar, 51 points. That almost won it alone. Kyren had 29. What a steal. Arguably the greatest pick of all time. Achane had 22, arguably the greatest pick of all time. Batman is an incredible drafter. Njoku had 14 and Diontae Johnson had 10. Batman rose from the ashes. A team that was left out of consideration since the very beginning of the league. No one, and I mean no one, ever believed in Batman, but this week, this year, Batman came out on top. Batman destroyed CrossFit 154.55 to 97.55. CrossFit is the biggest embarrassment that this league has seen and this league has Bottom Bunk in it.

Congratulations to our new champion, Batman. And with that we have a quick word, “I want to thank all my fans. Really quite the run for the Batmans, proud of the guys to get it done when it mattered. We embraced the underdog role this year, but we think we have the guys in the building to stay at the top for awhile. Want to thank all the other competitors for a great year. We love to compete. Going to enjoy this one for awhile before we are back to the grind.” Humble and team focused, a true champion. Thank you Batman.

Third Place

v.

#1 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. #5 Pistol

I refuse to check the stats, but I am fairly certain JD3 has never won a playoff game in which he was the favorite. JD3 is an absolute choke artist. Maybe, that turns around this week. Speaking of choking, Mahomes had 19. JD3 has some good performances too, Etienne had 25, McLaurin had 14, Collins had 12, D-Hop had 11 and Sing had 10. The problem was Chase and Diggs combined for 11 points. What a joke. Pistol needed a little help from Jayden Reed Sunday night but we will see how much was needed. Ford had 25, Kenny Walks had 15, and Kincaid had 11. It was a 6 point game headed into Sunday night. Reed got 24. Pistol blew the brakes off JD3 with a 3rd place finish, 128.6 to 110.25. Pistol got the big win and our lowest playoff seeds get the trophy wins. What a year for the little guy.

Consolation Championship for Pick 1.13

v.

#7 PeePaw v. #10 Bottom Bunk

Some teams get hot at the right time and some teams get hot just a little too late. PeePaw is late in age, the old man does not have many runs left in him. Hopefully this isn’t his last run, but my goodness was it quite the finish. PeePaw started Jaren Hall and had 0.25 points. For most teams that would be it. However, CeeDee had 34 and Davante had 31. Aiyuk felt left out, so he had 21. Jaylen Warren solidified his role as the RB1 in Pitt with 18, single handedly giving Tomlin a winning season. Rice had 15 and Monty had 13. That is how you pick up your quarterback. B.B. tried. B.B. saw 23 from Breece, 10 from Robinson, 13 from Goedert and 17 from Pickens. Justice Hill was on B.B.’s bench with 24 points, the player B.B. spent all his faab on. PeePaw would have given our champion the best matchup this week, but PeePaw instead takes home pick 13 with a win, 150.65 to 115.95. B.B. has pick 26.

Consolation Third Place for Pick 3.13

v.

#8 Trashman v. #12 Mush’s Mongrels

Mush wins 86.75 to 79.8. Mush has pick 36 and Trashman has pick 48. Trashman started Trevor Lawrence, Zack Moss, and Christian Watson, all had 0 points and were out this week. Trashman did not make any roster moves and would not have been able to win the week regardless because his bench had a total of 13.5 points but none from the QB position. Mush had 18 points from Dortch and 19 from Juwan Johnson, probably the only team to start these two players in their lineup. Mush has four first next year, two seconds, a third and fifth round pick. Hopefully, Mush can bounce back a little next year.

What  a year, we will put everything in the closing as we look back at another successful season.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Good morning class, we have out final answer sheet for Professor Pickum.

Cincinnati +7 @ Kansas City

Nope.

Carolina @ Jacksonville -6.5

  • BANG!

Los Angeles Rams -4.5 @ New York Giants

  • Nope.

Professor Pickum went 1-2 and was 25-19 overall.

What an absolute great season. Thank you to our readers, competitors, and Professor Pickum. This year was filled with random rookie picks, trades, upsets, and heartbreak. That is what fantasy football is all about. We share a few laughs along the way and even a few threats. The best thing about the league this year is that teams controlled the leader board all year, only to fall flat on their face. Congratulations to Batman and hopefully you and yours have a better tomorrow, as for everyone else, I wish you the same. Thank you and we shall see you again.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Championship Preview. This is it. The big one. The grand finale. This is what we all were waiting for. Unfortunately, one two teams will be celebrating. This should be a great weekend. Congratulations to our eventual champion and the team with the eventual 1.13 pick. Let’s get to it.

Championship Game

v.

#2 CrossFit v. #6 Batman

CrossFit won last year. Batman is looking to be the second team to win as a 6-seed. CrossFit has to be in the final year of his window. The aging team looks to bring home another championship. Batman is just entering his prime and win the first of many championships. Let’s look at a position by position breakdown. CrossFit has Dak and Batman has Lamar, slight edge to Dak if he preforms, but Lamar is more consistent. CrossFit has CMC Barkley, Ekeler and Moster. Batman has Cook, Kyren, Hubbard, and Achane. This all leans CrossFit. CrossFit has the best backs by far. CrossFit has Amari, Lockett, St. Brown, and Deebo. Batman has Jakobi, DeVonta, and Olave. This also leans CrossFit. CrossFit has Kelce and Batman has Njoku and McBride. This one also leans CrossFit. Batman has had quite the season, honestly, a real feel good story. But we are not living in a fairy tale. CrossFit is going to win this one by a million points. CrossFit is a 26 point favorite.

Before we leave this game, we were able to get a comment from each team. First, the challenger, “The Batman’s re ready for this Game! We feel fortunate to be putting it together at the right time, opportunity to play the best. . . means a lot. We are ready to bring our A-game.” A powerful message from Batman. We also reached out to CrossFit for comment, but he did not make himself available for media day. Something about not thinking Batman was a worthy foe. CrossFit does not seem to concerned heading into the Championship game, we will see how it pans out for him.

Third Place

v.

#1 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. #5 Pistol

JD3 is coming off of a terrible loss. Pistol matched an equally bad loss. Either way, one of these two teams has to win. Let’s look at the matchups. JD3 had Mahomes, Pistol has Purdy. Neither QB is great right now. JD3 has Etienne and Pistol has Gibbs, that will be exciting. Who cares about the RB2. Pistol also has Kenny Walker and Javonte Williams. Pistol has the RB matchup based on numbers. JD3 has Chase, Diggs, Allen, Pittman, Collins, and D-Hip. Pistol has A.J. Brown, Sutton, Garrett Wilson, and Jayden Reed. The WR matchup goes to JD3, but A.J. Brown can close that gap all by himself. Tight ends, neither team has a TE, but Kincaid has the advantage over Otton. This should be a close one, JD3 is currently a 2 point favorite. This will be a great matchup.

Consolation Championship for Pick 1.13

v.

#7 PeePaw v. #10 Bottom Bunk

These two hate each other. This isn’t even about fantasy football. I’m talking real life hate. Let’s dive into the matchup. PeePaw has a QB issue, B.B. has Baker, that is a wash. B.B. has Breece and Bijan and that should be the deciding factor in the RB matchup. PeePaw has Lamb, Jefferson, and Adams. B.B. just has London and Pickens. The tight ends don’t matter. The matchup sounds closer than it will be, but PeePaw is a 40 point favorite. PeePaw is going to have pick 1.13.

Consolation Third Place for Pick 3.13

v.

#8 Trashman v. #12 Mush’s Mongrels

This is an ugly matchup. Neither team is projected to get 100 points. Trashman will probably not set his lineup. Mush knew this and is why he scheduled this matchup. Mush has Rachaad White and that is the only real player on his team. Mush is a 12 point favorite and I think he gets pick 3.13.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Good morning class, we have out 14th pop quiz for Professor Pickum.

Back on our 2-1 stuff (editor’s note this was a curse word, and that is not ok this close to the holidays). Let’s try to keep the momentum rolling and go perfect. Why not us?

Thank you for welcoming me into this prestigious newsletter in 2023. I hope you’ve enjoyed some winners along the way. Last week for the year let’s try to go out with a bang.

Cincinnati +7 @ Kansas City

Hypothesis

  • Good chance Pacheco is ruled out
  • Even if fully healthy this Chiefs team hasn’t proven to be worthy of being a 7 point favorite against anybody

Carolina @ Jacksonville -6.5

Hypothesis

  • If the Jags can’t cover by at least a touchdown at home against the Panthers they don’t deserve to be a professional franchise

Los Angeles Rams -4.5 @ New York Giants

Hypothesis

  • Rams have covered in their last 5 and I like them to make it 6 against the T Mobile led G-Men

Professor Pickum is 24-17 overall.

This has been quite the year, four years in and we are still going strong. Thank you all for your attention, I need it, it’s the only thing that keeps me going. Maybe some teams will pay more attention to their lineups next year. I will see you next week with a new champion, until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Semi-Finals Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Semi-Finals Recap. Honestly, this was a let down, which is probably best for most teams to just accept the loss and move on. Let’s just rip the band aid off so we can focus on to the Championship Week. Let’s get it.

v.

#1 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. #6 Batman

JD3 had over 100 points every week of the regular season. JD3 had the best record and the second most points for. This week, when it mattered, he did the exact opposite. The nightmare scenario happened with having Chase, Allen, and Pittman all out. The other question mark going into the week Nico Collins suited up and was the only position player to have double digits with a dozen points. JD3 has a shot at third place, but is looking to revamp the entire roster in the offseason. Batman is the hottest team in the PCDL and we will see who is hotter next week when he faces his biggest challenge to date. Batman had his guys show up. Lamar had 31, Olave added 19, Kyren had 16, Smith matched with 16, Njoku had 13, and Hubbard added 12. It was a solid week across the board for Batman, but next week he’ll need more booms to win the whole thing. Batman wins this one in a blow out, 127.9 to 76.25.

v.

#2 CrossFit v. #5 Pistol

CrossFit may not be the hottest team overall, but he is burning the brightest. CrossFit is looking to repeat as the champ. After a long season mixed with injuries his team is now full health. Dak had a good 27, CMC had 22, Barkley had 18, Mostert with 12, Ekeler with 10, Lockett with 12, and St. Brown with 23. I think that is it right? Oh wait, Amari Cooper had 46 points. Yikes, that is a lot. Pistol got into the playoffs and then had to deal with this. Pistol never stood a chance and his team knew it. Gibbs had 22, Garrett Wilson had 11 and so did A. J. Brown. Hopefully, Pistol and JD3 put on abetter showing for third place. CrossFit wins as lead dog 185.83 to 76.55.

Consolation Bracket

v.

#7 PeePaw v. #12 Mush’s Mongrels

This ended up being a good one. PeePaw with the spot start in Joe Flacco for 37. CeeDee Lamb had 22, Jefferon did one more with 23, and Ridley matched. PeePaw also had help from Schultz with 10 and 14 from Aiyuk. Mush put up a fight. Browning had 22, Rachaad White added 17, Chris Rodriguez had 19 (my goodness who would cut him), Demarcus Robinson had 17, Shaheed had 16, Dortch had 15, and Juwan Johnson had 13. What a weekend for Mush, his hot hand almost lasted another week. The problem for Mush is PeePaw is a buzzsaw. PeePaw wins this week 154.9 to 139.73.

v.

#8 Trashman v. #10 Bottom Bunk

Bottom Bunk is no longer a laughing stock. B.B. is so back. Breec Hall had 37, Bijan had 16, Pickens had 34, and Goedert added 11. Trashman started 3 players that were our or did not register a statistic. Allgeier had 15 and Aaron Jones had 14. B.B. blew the brakes off Trashman, 155.15 to 59.55.

We will get into what is at stake for the Championship week tomorrow, that does it for the matchups, let’s check in with Professor Pickum.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Good morning class, we have out 13th answer sheet for Professor Pickum.

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh +2

BANG!

Buffalo @ Chargers Under 44

Nope.

Indianapolis +1.5 @ Atlanta

Nope.

Professor Pickum went 1-2 and is 24-17 overall.

What a weekend. I hope you all received great gifts, great food and great company. Tomorrow we have the final preview as we look to crown a champion. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Semi-Finals Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Semi-Finals Preview. We are onto the Second round and we have the big dogs coming out. Well the first round had a couple teams barking so we got all the dogs in the mix. See which teams are on the short leash and which ones are onto greener pastures. We have our Semi Final matchups and Professor Pickum. Let’s get it.

v.

#1 JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. #6 Batman

We have quite the matchup. JonnyDIII has been the best team all year. Batman is the hottest team right now. JD3 is without Chase, he may be without Nico, Keenan, and/or Pittman. That is not ideal. Batman is a little banged up too, could be without Olave, which is just one person. Let’s look at each one. JD3 with Mahomes, Etienne, and Singletary. Batman has Lamar, Hubbard, Achane, Cook, and Kyren. What a lineup for Batman. The WRs swing to JD3 a little, Diggs, McLaurin, and D-Hop. JD3 will have to piece together some combo of the injured guys and Cooks or Hunt. Batman has a couple WRs with OBJ, Jakobi, and DeVonta. The TE matchup is who cares, but Batman has the hot hands of McBride and Njoku. JD3 is probably going with Otton or Mayer. The outlook is not great here for JD3, JD3 is a 5 point dog, but the good news is the dogs are barking, Batman just had the loudest bark last week. Should be a good one.

v.

#2 CrossFit v. #5 Pistol

We had a good matchup, now we have a blowout. CrossFit is going to maul Pistol. Pistol had a great year, he would have been better off against JD3 this week. Too bad he has CrossFit. CrossFit has Dak, Mostert, CMC, Barkley, Ekeler, Cooper, Lockett, St. Brown, Deebo, and Kelce. Wow, where does that miss. I have been typing that lineup all year and it is scariest right now. Pistol needs booms from every round in his chamber. Purdy needs to have an MVP season this weekend for Pistol. Jerome Ford needs to be a Ford on the field, Gibbs actually can get it done, Javonte needs to Run Ricky Run, Kenny Walker needs to walk into the endzone III times, Sutton needs to court the ball and land into the endzone, Wilson well I can’t really talk you into this one, Reed is who you want to read in the headlines, Kincaid needs about 20 more points than last week, and lastly A.J. Brown needs to do it all. CrossFit is a two dozen favorite, I think he is back in the big dance, great effort by Pistol.

Consolation Bracket

v.

#7 PeePaw v. #12 Mush’s Mongrels

If there is two people that hate each other its me, myself and I, or these two. This will be the worst beat down in the history of the league. One team wants it so bad after getting snubbed from the playoffs due to in inept commissioner. This one is easy. PeePaw has Flacco, Warren, Jefferson, Adams, Lamb, Aiyuk, Rice, and Ridley. Mush has Browning, White, Clyde, Palmer, and Shaheed. I think PeePaw needs an average week and Mush needs a miracle. PeePaw is a 50 point favorite, ahhhh yeah, that is one heck of a miracle.

v.

#8 Trashman v. #10 Bottom Bunk

This is actually funny, because Bottom Bunk might get it done. Trashman has T-Law, Aaron Jones, Addison, Zack Moss, and LaPorta. B.B. has Mayfield, Breece, B-Rob, Pickens, London, and Fergie. What a lineup for B.B. He might get it done. B.B. is an 18 point favorite, things should get closer to about 8-12 point game by then.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Good morning class, we have out 13th pop quiz for Professor Pickum.

Back on our 2-1 stuff (editor’s note this was a curse word, and that is not ok this close to the holidays). Let’s try to keep the momentum rolling and go perfect. Why not us?

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh +2

Hypothesis

  • Fade the public here. No Kenny Pickett no problem – Cincy can’t stop the run
  • Mike Tomlin is 16-6-3 ATS as a home Dawg. I like him to get the boys up for a must win against their bitter rivals against a rowdy Saturday crowd of boozed up Yinzers

Buffalo @ Chargers Under 44

Hypothesis

  • Each of these teams are 2-8 in their last 10 to the over
  • In general, the Bills have been playing a slow-paced style of offense. I like them to really lean into that this week after taking a lead early. Run out the clock and stay healthy

Indianapolis +1.5 @ Atlanta

Hypothesis

  • Better coaching, better QB, Papa Minshew

Professor Pickum is 23-15 overall.

Well that does it for this week. Next week we will have teams in the ship and others with their tail tucked between their legs. This should be an exciting week. Happy Holidays and I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Round 1 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the PCDL Round 1 Recap. We are only looking at the matchups, we don’t care about the byes, they will be back in the mix tomorrow. See who went home this weekend and Professor Pickum.

v.

#3 Touchdown Guy v. #6 Batman

Touchdown Guy has been an absolute wagon all four years of the PCDL. If you had to look at each year, this year was the squeakiest wheel at the wrong time. Batman is out for vengence. TDG had the tallest QB come up short with 20 points. With Josh Allen being a center piece, that is not great. Derrick Henry might be done too, he had 3. James Conner was great with 16, Kupp had 21, Evans 14, Godwin 21, and Higgins with 20. What a week, really. The problem is Batman had a bonkers week. Lamar was fine with 24, Hubbard a solid 11, McBride out of no where with 15. But it gets better. James Cook, an absolute bum all year, put up 35 points. Kyren had 22, Njoku finally had a big week with 21 and Jakobi Meyers had 17. Who knows what DeVonta Smith will do, and who cares, Batman is moving on and looking to be the second 6-Seed to ever win it all. Batman wins 162.75 to 135.1.

v.

#4 Teach v. #5 Pistol

With knowing the result of the 3/6 matchup there is one team that wishes he lost the final week of the season. These two stunk. Neither deserves to win, neither deserves to move on, neither deserves anything. Teach had the lead going into Monday Night, but how did he get there? Ahhhh no Tyreek?!? Waddle came up big with 24, Hunter Henry had 16, Tyler Kraft had 14 and so did Mixon. Not a ton of points but ok for Monday Night. Pistol is down 16 with two to go. Purdy had 38, Gibbs had 24, Jayden Reed had 14 and Kincaid had 0. Pistol needed 16 from Kenneth Walker III and A.J. Brown. Pistol got 27 and is moving on. Pistol wins 124.6 to 114.

Consolation Bracket

v.

#9 Daddy Wombat v. #12 Mush’s Mongrels

This is hilarious. D.W. got smoked, well maybe, still had 3 to go Monday night. Kamara had 14 and Kmet had 11. D.W. needed 93 points from Hurts, JSN, and Metcalf. Mush did the thing this weekend. Browning had 19, White had 21, Clyde Frog had 18, Palmer had 19, McKinnon added 17 and DeMarcus Robinson had 14. D.W. came up short and the team with 1 win gets his second in the Consolation Bracket, Mush wins 138.4 to 94.45.

v.

#10 Bottom Bunk v. #11 Bruce

B.B. is a fan favorite (probably not) and everyone hates Bruce (100% a real thing). B.B. faced a man that fears everything. Bruce had D.J. Moore, Zeke, Najee, Flowers, Mingo and Engram all go for under 10. That is funny stuff. B.B. saw 43 from Baker, all he really needed. B.B. wins this thriller 79.95 to 71.85.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Dallas @ Buffalo -2

  • BANG!

Professor Pickum went 2-1 and is 23-15 overall. A nice little get right for the Professor.

What a weekend. A lot of the bye week teams got banged up so it will be interesting to see if they bounce back for the round before the big dance. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
