Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 10 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 10 Preview. We have some divisional matchup rematches. This results in an matchup we did not expect as our GOTW. We have other matchups, Professor Pickum and an all new Power Ranks. Let’s dive into it.

Game of the week.

v.

Teach v. Pistol

Pistol won the first matchup. Pistol has the better record. Teach was once thought of as the hot team. But Teach needs to hit the books this weekend. Teach does not have the Miami trio. That means Kenny Pickett is getting the nod. Christian Kirk is getting a big time start and so should Juju? Teach is going to have to rely on his backs. Rhamondre, B-Rob, Mixon and Pollard. Things are not looking good for Teach this week. Pistol is without A.J. Brown. The good news is Pistol has Stroud, Walker, Pitts, Kincaid, Garrett Wilson, and Gibbs. It is tough to see Teach winning again in this league if he loses to Pistol. Pistol should be a 6 point favorite and I just think his couple of boom players out perform Teach.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. PeePaw

Mush is down bad. PeePaw is on a winning streak. Mush does not have a player in his possible starting lineup with a projection of more than 5 points. That is going to be a lot of shotguns. PeePaw has Herbs, Aiyuk, Adams, Ridley, and Lamb. PeePaw is going to win by 100 points.

v.

Bruce v. Bottom Bunk

Bruce is a coward, Bottom Bunk is terrible. I think Bruce wins this one on accident. Neither team is worth mentioning their players. That is not a knock on the players, strictly a knock on the managers.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. CrossFit

Daddy Wombat is without Hurts, so Russ is head chef. Kamara needs a bounce back week. Russ needs a sous chef, insert Jerry Jeudy. That is really all to highlight for D.W. this week. CrossFit is looking to put a run together. Dak, CMC, Barkley, Cooper, Ekeler and St. Brown. I mean this is going to be bad for D.W. CrossFit should win by a lot.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Batman

This is a big revenge game in the mix. Not for either manager, but for one player. James Conner is back baby. Revenge game against Batman. Oh baby. TDG also has the Tall Josh Allen, D-Train, Jacobs, Thielen, Evans, Godwin and Higgins oh my. Batman has Lamar, Hollywood, Dionte, Jakobi and Olave. Batman also has James Cook who put up 39 total yards of offense last week. TDG is a 20 plus favorite, it is tough to see Batman winning. But never count out the caped crusader.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Trashman

JD3 does not have Mahomes this week. Not great. Chase is questionable. Not great. JD3 is going to have to rely on the waiver wire, Etienne, Diggs, and Allen. It will be an interesting week. It will also be interesting for Trashman. Trashman is without Pacheco. Trashman has T-Law, Addison, Aaron Jones and Mark Andrews. Neither team is going to love their point total this weekend, but they will try their best. This one will all come down to whoever JD3 cooks up on the waiver wire (it’s Baker).

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Good morning class, we have the seventh chapter of Professor Pickum.

The Bonus pick continues to be a blessing and a curse for the Professor BUT nevertheless, we will strive to earn another one this week.

Carolina +3.5 @ Chicago

Hypothesis:

  • This is a dumb pick but these two teams are dumb too so mayber there’s something there?
  • Bears don’t deserve to be 3.5 point favorites to anybody
  • Bryce Young is struggling (though improving) but Bears D is worse.

Indianapolis @ New England Under 43.5

Hypothesis:

  • Don’t think just shoot. Gunder
  • Need I say more?

Green Bay @ Pittsburgh Under 39.5

Hypothesis:

  • Two decent defenses scoring wise against two low scoring offenses
  • Pittsburgh defense is very solid but the one weak spot is in the run which is all Green Bay can/wants to do
  • Between the tackles, run run run punt. Just the way the Football gods intended it

Professor Pickum is 13-7 overall and was 2-2 last week.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

We have a new #1 in CrossFit. It is a familiar spot for him. JD3 falls down a spot. Big move for PeePaw, it is inevitable, so let’s just get over with it. Huge drop off the face of the Earth for Teach. We are looking ahead into the future here, Teach is losing this week. Bruce is still the worst team in the league, so no changes at the bottom.

That does it for this week. Man has it ever been a week. Until next time, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 9 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 9 Recap. We have muddied the waters. If we have learned anything this week it is that no win is guaranteed, well, unless you are playing Mush or Bruce. Let’s dive into our matchups and Professor Pickum.

Game of the week.

v.

CrossFit v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

CrossFit had question marks, but those don’t matter when your horses burst out the gate. Amari Cooper led the skill positions with 22. Jonnu Smith in a revenge game? Maybe? He had 19. Then we have solid production across the RBs, 15 for Mostert, 13 for Barkley and 12 for Ekeler at the half. The big swing for CrossFit was 41 from Dak. What a week to pick the right QB. JD3 did not have a matching performance with Mahomes having 23. Diggs had 20, Nico had 13, Pittman, McLaurin and Hunt combined for 30. CrossFit had the bigger boom performances in this possible future playoff matchup. CrossFit wins this one handedly as lead dog and dethrones the best team halfway through the NFL season 142.7 to 112.65.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Bottom Bunk

Neither team had 100 points. B.B. saw 19 from Jake Ferguson and wins 84.1 to 39.7.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. Pistol

The writer inserted foot in mouth here. D.W. had the QB advantage, well that was until C.J. Stroud had a rookie record setting day. Stroud had 60 fantasy points which may be a PCDL record. It may be an any fantasy league record. C.J. Stroud was an absolute rocket for Pistol. Hurts had 34 for D.W. which is incredible, but not enough. Kmet had 21 for D.W. D.W. started Jerry Jeudy who was on bye, Jeudy matched Tyler Higbee and Gabe Davis who also had 0 points. Pierre Strong and Rondale Moore had 1 and Josh Downs had 2. Tough week for D.W. Pistol didn’t need much after Stroud. Pistol saw 16 from A.J. Brown, 11 from Kincaid and 10 from Jerome Ford. That would do it. Pistol wins 126.3 to 75.95.

v.

PeePaw v. Teach

PeePaw said he would need to go for a long drive to rethink some things if he did not win this week. Well, I got bad news for big oil, PeePaw did not need to leave the house. CeeDee Lamb had 23, Schultz had 22, Gus Bus  had a load of points in 17 and Jaylen Warren even got in the mix with 13. Herbert had 6 points nearing the end of the third and that is all he needed. Teach had an ok week, but PeePaw is a good team that has had some bad beats. Rhamondre had 21, Mixon had 15, Brian Robinson had 11 and Hock had 10. There are no Dolphins players mentioned here. That is because Tua had 18, Hill with 9 and Waddle with 7. Teach rides and dies with that trio, this week was not good. PeePaw wins this one and is back in the mix for the playoffs 116.7 to 107.25.

v.

Batman v. Trashman

Batman will take a win. Dionte Johnson had 19, Olave had 14 and Devonta Smith and Jakobi Meyers combined for 26. Trashman’s highlights are Aaron Jones with 16 and Mark Andrews with 13. Trashman lost Daniel Jones for the year and Cam Akers. Christian Watson is hurt again. Not great. Trashman might want to capitalize on moving Jones and Andrews, but we will see. Batman wins 103.85 to 63.55.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Bruce

Touchdown Guy is good, Bruce is bad.

Good teams win, great teams cover. TDG won by 56. Josh Jacobs had 22 and Taysom Hill had 21 for the major highlights. Bruce continues the tank job, coward. TDG wins 136.35 to 79.5.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Good morning class, we have the sixth exam answers of Professor Pickum.

Last week’s strategy was to get ugly and it paid off in a big way. A clean sweep brings a bonus pick and man, speaking of ugly… this week’s card is GROSS. Let’s hold our breath and get dirty, boys.

Miami @ Kansas City in Germany Under 51

BANG!

Arizona +8 @ Cleveland

Nope. (*Editors Note: for what it is worth, Watson being in changes things but the Cards didn’t score any points, lot of games to pick from and Prof chose this one, this wasn’t close, so this is 100% on Professor Pickum)

Giants @ Raiders Under 37

BANG!

Extra Credit

Nope.

Professor Pickum is 13-7 overall and was 2-2 this week.

Well that does it for this week. There will be movement on the power rankings tomorrow. What an exciting time. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 9 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 9 Preview. We have a good GOTW with the two best teams in the league, then we have some other matchups, Professor Pickum is going to try and run it back with an extra pick and our all new Power Rankings, let’s get this bread baby!

Game of the week.

v.

CrossFit v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

CrossFit is in a pinch, he is going to have two big question marks on his starting lineup. CrossFit has Dak, Mostert, Barkley, Ekeler and Kelce. All these guys are monsters. Then we have some solid players in Cooper and Lockett. The issues are Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Darrynton Evans? My goodness those are some bad starts. JD3 has Mahomes, Chase, Diggs, Allen, McLaurin, Pittman and Nico. The bad plays are Kareem Hunt and Royce Freeman. His other options are Sing or Sanders. The RB situation is a mess with Etienne on bye. This one is going to be a tight one, whoever has the bigger boom game wins this one. JD3 is about a 14 point favorite, this one will be close.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Bottom Bunk

We went from two of the best to two of the worst. Highlights are Mush is starting former first round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire and B.B. is starting former first rounders Bijan and Drake London. We are going to see a new low score after this weekend. I think Mush loses as B.B. is somehow a 20 point favorite.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. Pistol

If D.W. sets their lineup this one should be neck and neck. That is going to be a challenge in itself. D.W. has Hurts, Kamara, Gabe Davis, Tank Dell and D.K. Pistol has Kenny Walker, A.J. Brown, Garrett Wilson and Kincaid. Both of these teams are flirting with playoff hopes. It is really a must win for both. There is one team that is good with a bad record that is going to probably make a little push at some point. A slip up here could be the end for one of these teams. I think it is a coin flip, but I think D.W. with the QB edge gets it done.

v.

PeePaw v. Teach

Aghhhhhh, I just mentioned a good team with a bad record. That team may be in this matchup and they face a good team. That is not the best when you are trying to get back on track. PeePaw has Herbie, Lamb, Adams and Rice. PeePaw is looking for a load of points, another guy that is just wanting a big load is Gus Edwards. Gus Bus is hoping to load up the PeePaw bus and take em to the vicory cirle this weekend. We shall see because Teach wants it. Teach has the Phins trio of Tua, Tyreek and Waddle. Rhamondre, B-Rob and Mixon are also part of Teach’s class. Teach has a 18 point advantage. I think Teach gets it done and Tuesday we have a send off for PeePaw because he’s done.

v.

Batman v. Trashman

Batman had a rough one, but he is still in the driver’s seat. Batman has Lamar, Hendy, Swift, Cook, Hollywood, DeVonta, Olave, Dionte and Jakobi. What a lineup it sounds like a good team, but how will this bunch work together? First time together all year, how is the locker room? There are a lot of concerns. Trashman has two concerns of whether or not he sets his lineup. Trashman still should be a 15 point dog. It does not look good for Trashman. Pacheco, Aaron Jones, Mark Andrews and Jordan Addison are the highlights. The rest of the team is too gross to mention. Batman should win, he needs it bad.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Bruce

Touchdown Guy is good, Bruce is bad. TDG is a 40 point favorite and he wins because Josh Allen is tall and Bruce is bad.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Good morning class, we have the sixth chapter of Professor Pickum.

Last week’s strategy was to get ugly and it paid off in a big way. A clean sweep brings a bonus pick and man, speaking of ugly… this week’s card is GROSS. Let’s hold our breath and get dirty, boys.

Miami @ Kansas City in Germany Under 51

  • Hypothesis:
    • Chiefs have gone under in their last 5
    • Chiefs seem a bit off after taking a fat L to one of the worst teams in the league last week
    • Chiefs elected to delay their travel to Germany until Thursday. . . The Professor thinks we might get a little bit of a Londer feel with a Sauerkruat aftertaste

Arizona +8 @ Cleveland

  • Hypothesis:
  • Full disclosure- this is a pick that’s tough to lock in on a Wednesday but the writer is a brutal bitch with a firm deadline so I’m going with my gut
  • Arizona decided to deal Josh Dobbs to Minnesota which leads one to assume MAYBE Kyler is ready or maybe Arizona is just saying fuck it. The oddsmakers don’t seem to think Kyler is back…Cleveland is probably calling bullshit as well
  • Browns likely starting PJ Walker— I’m not a buyer on him to Cover 8 points regardless of who’s on the other side. Plug your nose and check the Score App cuz NOBODY is putting this game on the main TV

Giants @ Raiders Under 37

  • Hypothesis:
  • Game totals in the last 5 Giants games have been a putrid 28.2 average
  • Oakland has been only slightly better in the same stretch at 38.2
  • Giants games have gone over only ONCE this year and that was in the week 2 comeback against Arizona. Those Giants have not been seen since that game

Extra Credit

Buffalo +2.5 @ Cincinnati

  • Hypothesis:
    • The Public is in love with Cincy at home after Joey Burr and Bengals finally look to be themselves.
    • Bills are just a categorically better team in most every metric. This is a “what-have-you-done-for-me-lately” league, sure. But I’m going to take the opportunity to catch a couple points on Tall Josh Allen and the Bills.

Professor Pickum is 11-5 overall and was 3-0 last week.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

The big news is that PeePaw continues to skid. Daddy Wombat is on the way up. That is about all that is going on right now.

That is all we got going on. This is another quick week. Until next time I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Recap. This was an ugly week, only one matchup was close and needed Monday night to decide the winner. You know who’s not ugly, you, you’re beautiful, just like Professor Pickum’s picks. Let’s get right to it while you enjoy your Halloween candy.

Game of the week.

v.

Teach v. Batman

Teach needed a win, he got it. Tua, Waddle and Tyreek combined for 77. My goodness. Joe Mixon had himself a weekend with 19, Hock had 18 and Doubs had 10. Pretty solid production. Batman made a big splash by trading only two first to get Hollywood Brown and James Cook. Cook played on Thursday so he has not made his way to Batman’s lineup, Hollywood put up 12 on his new team, but wait wasn’t there a third player? Yes, Batman also received Diontae Johnson, who he left on his bench. Batman thought A.J. Dillon, Chuba Hubbard and Jakobi Meyers would all be better starts than Johnson. Johnson had 13 points on Batman’s bench. Batman did see 13 from Swift and 10 from Hendy. DeVonta Smith added 19 points to Batman’s WR room. The QB difference was a lot, Lamar didn’t want it. Teach wins to 150.4 to 96.95.

v.

Bruce v. CrossFit

CrossFit didn’t cover but still won by 40 plus (Goff and St. Brown still have a quarter left but who cares cus Bruce is a coward). CMC had 27, Ekeler had 20 and Locket had 18 in this quick recap because Bruce is a coward. CrossFit wins 145.9 to 102.35.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Daddy Wombat

This ugly matchup turned out to be an ugly game for one team. B.B. saw 5 points from Ridder. Bijan and Breece combined for 30. Jake Ferguson had 13. That is not a good stat line so I will let you guess which team had the worse week. D.W. saw 41 from Hurts, 25 from Kamara, 19 from Gabe Davis, Dozen from Jeudy, 13 from Kmet and rookies JSN and Downs each had 11. D.W. needed this win over one of the worst teams in league history, D.W. got it done 152.85 to 78.75. D.W. was lead dog and burned it up on the worst team of the week in B.B.

v.

Pistol v. PeePaw

Pistol was down about 25 entering into Monday night. Prior to that Pistol saw 17 from Javonte Williams, 15 from Kincaid, 14 from Garrett Wilson and 20 total from Jaylen Reed and Sutton in the same game. The big hitter for Pistol was A.J. Brown who went off for 29. A.J. Brown is the guy this year. PeePaw saw a good 36 points from Herbert to hold a lead going into Monday night. The other performances were led the way by CeeDee Lamb who had 35, Gus Edwards had 28, Aiyuk had 13 and Ridley added 11. It would come down to Monday night. Pistol had Gibbs and PeePaw had Davante. Gibbs had 27 and Davante had 2, Pistol wins this late night shootout 151.4 to 144.8. An absolutely devastating loss for PeePaw.

v.

Trashman v. Touchdown Guy

Last week we said it was impossible for TDG to lose, we were right. Trashman really only had big weeks from Addison with 18, Moss with 14 and whatever LaPorta ended up with, he was sitting at 16 early in the fourth quarter. TDG saw big weeks from more people. Josh Allen had 29, Kittle had 19, Godwin and Evans combined for 26, Thielen had 11 and Derrick Henry had 14. Jacobs was still going and has 14 at the moment. It doesn’t matter. TDG wins this one big 146 to 113 in a rare whole number final.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Mush’s Mongrels

There was a lot of talk from a team that does not have much to talk about. Mush had the better QB and better individual player. Bagent out dueled Mahomes 16 to 10. Rasheed Shaheed led the way with 27 which was 3 more than Etienne. JD3 just had more depth, Chase had 20, McLaurin had 15, Pittman 14, Logan Thoms had 13, Hunt added 13, Diggs with a dozen and Allen had 11. Mush saw 14 from Rachaad White, that would do it for him. Mush saw nothing from Jauan Jennings, who Mush traded for, and Hayden Hurst. That is tough. JD3 throttles Mush 137.85 to 84.9.

Good morning class, answers for Professor Pickum’s fifth quiz.

No hiding from it, no denying it… last week was UGLY. Professor is a fight fire with fire kind of guy, always has been. So let’s get UGLY!

Tampa Bay @ Buffalo Under 43

BANG!

Minnesota @ Green Bay Under 42.5

BANG!

Texans @ Carolina +3

BANG!

Professor Pickum was 3-0 this week and is 11-5 overall.

What a week. Get ready for another pick from the Professor tomorrow. We will have the GOTW, matchups, Professor Pickum and an all-new Power Rankings. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 8 Preview. We have a good GOTW with our best matchup. We will see if the team on the rise can get it done. We will dive into our matchups, Professor Pickum (if he’s still alive) and an all-new Power Rankings.

Game of the week.

v.

Teach v. Batman

Teach has never needed a win more than now. Tua does not have an injury tag, the WR duo in Hill and Waddle both have a questionable tag. Mixon is back, Pollard is back, Rhamondre, and Doubs? Teach could really be struggling with WRs if a Miami wide out is out out. Batman has been hot. A team that has shown promise all year. Batman is looking to clean it up and get into the offs. Batman is rolling out Lamar, Hendy, Swift, DeVonta, Olave and Jakobi. I mean if we look at the number of names, it is pretty even. The problem is that the app loves the Phins. In a divisional game paired with some injuries, I’m not sure that the projections are accurate for Miami. This one will be tighter than it looks, the heart wants Batman but the brain is on Teach as the 20 point favorite.

v.

Bruce v. CrossFit

CrossFit wins as the 60 point favorite. CrossFit just needs to get his RBs back to full strength. Mostert, CMC, Barkley and Ekeler could carry him deep into the playoffs.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Daddy Wombat

This is the ugliest matchup of the week. The funny thig is that both of these teams are still in the mix. B.B. has Bijan, Mattison and Pickens. D.W. has Hurts and Kamara. I don’t think the issue is their big names, the issue is how many of their duds will actually score some points. These teams have had zeros before, they need points across the board to get the win. I think D.W. wins it this week just based on the QB play and as the 10 point favorite.

v.

Pistol v. PeePaw

Pistol has the better record and PeePaw has the better projection. Pistol does not have a QB as of late. PeePaw has Herbert. Pistol has some good young RBs in Javonte, Kenny Walker, and Gibbs. PeePaw is going with the non-traditional RB approach in Foreman, Warren and Gus Bus. The WR matchup leans in PeePaws favor for depth but Pistol has the better WR. Pistol has A.J. Brown, PeePaw has Adams, Lamb and Aiyuk, Pistol has the TEs in Kincaid and Pitts. This should be a doozy. Pistol needs some boom plays from his guys while PeePaw is looking for steadier production. PeePaw is the 10 point favorite, tough to see him lose again.

v.

Trashman v. Touchdown Guy

Trashman needs a win to get .500. Touchdown Guy needs a win to stay near the top of his division. Trashman has Pacheco, Aaron Jones, Jordan Addison, Christian Watson and Mark Andrews. None of those players really scream big numbers. Touchdown Guy has taller names. TDG has Josh Allen, D-Train, Jacobs, Kupp, Evans, Puca and Kittle. What a lineup. TDG just needs them to put it all together. TDG is a 30 point favorite. It is impossible for TDG to lose this weekend.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Mush’s Mongrels

This is the matchup both teams have had on their calendar. This is the palindrome game. JD3 has 1 loss, Mush has 1 win. JD3 has the proven vet in Mahomes, Mush has a vet that needs to prove himself week in week out in Geno. JD3 has Etienne for his young back, Mush has Cook and White for his young backs. JD3 mixes in a dash of experience with Kareem Hunt. Neither team has a strong TE. JD3 has some strong WRs in Diggs, Chase, and Allen. Mush has a couple WRs you would describe as sneaky in Hollywood and Dionte Johnson. This matchup is one sided, JD3 is a 40 point favorite. We will have to wait until next week to see who gets the nod.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Good morning class, we have the fifth chapter of Professor Pickum.

No hiding from it, no denying it… last week was UGLY. Professor is a fight fire with fire kind of guy, always has been. So let’s get UGLY!

  1. Tampa Bay @ Buffalo Under 43
  • Hypothesis:
  • Two top 5 defenses in points allowed per game
  • Tampa is 26th in points scored per game
  • Primetime Under. Let’s start off with a hot ugly start

2. Minnesota @ Green Bay Under 42.5

  • Hypothesis:
  • There is NOTHING Uglier than the Packers offense right now
  • Vikings games have gone over ONE time this season back in Week 2 vs Philly
  • In that same time span, Green Bay has averaged a PUTRID, ANEMIC, UGLY 18.4 PPG

3. Texans @ Carolina +3

  • Hypothesis:
  • You think I’m gonna go ugly and not back the worst team in all of professional football? Wrong
  • Panthers are coming off a bye, HC Frank Reich is 5-0 ATS coming off a bye as a HC
  • Panthers have changed playcallers on offense and should hopefully give Bryce Young some freedom to be the #1 Overall Pick that he was drafted to be

Professor Pickum is 8-5 overall.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

Only thing to really report is that Batman moved up the ranks. This week is a huge week for Batman to prove if he’s for real or not. Everyone else, who cares.

That does it for this week. Should be an exciting weekend, the air is getting crisp and the pads are really popping. We have a lot of teams right in the middle, we have 8 teams that have are a game in or out of .500. Hopefully you end up on a the better side of .500, until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 7 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 7 Recap. Things are getting interesting at the bottom. A lot of teams laid an egg this week. Some teams showed out and will be rewarded in the power rankings. Couple late minute adds to help secure wins for teams. Big week, GOTW, matchups, and Professor Pickum, let’s get it!

Game of the week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Touchdown Guy

JD3 almost pulled off the optimum score in his starting lineup, just missed it by a point. That is usually a good sign. TDG was not so lucky, but it would not matter. Josh Allen made a late push to hit 34 points on the weekend, but Mahomes had some magic for 49. The RB matchups were completely one-sided. JD3 saw 21 from Etienne, 15 from Hunt, and 7 from a Royce Freeman. TDG had a combined 9 from Jacobs and Gibby. The WR matchups were pretty even across the board, but TDG had the edge. JD3 had 15 from Diggs and Pittman, and had another 12 from McLaurin. TDG had 19 from Nacua, 17 from Evans, 13 from Kendrick Bourne and 10 from Godwin. It would all come down to Monday night and if Kittle could put up 45 points on National Tight End Day, he would not, JD3 gets a huge win 156.8 to 122.35. JD3 was lead dog and now has a 2 game lead in his division.

v.

Bruce v. Batman

Bruce set a made up lineup. He is the only one doing this. Bruce deserves only bad things. Batman had a gameday Darrell Henderson Jr. pickup that was the move of the week. Hendy put up 13 for him. Lamar of old showed up for 46 points. A.J. Dillon had a surprising 11 points. Jakobi Meyers had 15. There were murmurs that Darren Waller didn’t want it. After seeing his wife win a championship, Darren knew he better show up, and he did for 19. Batman wins this one 135.35 to 78.5.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. CrossFit

Bottom Bunk stinks out loud. Ridder had 18, Goedert had 16, and Pickens had 13. The bad was Dyami Brown with 0, Jameson Williams with 0, Bijan with 0.3 and Devante Parker with 1.3. I mean my goodness. CrossFit would head into Monday night with a comfortable 40 point lead. CrossFit did not have that great of a week. Kelce led the way with 30, St. Brown and Barkley each had 17 a piece. Bottom Bunk would need Mattison to outscore CMC by more than 40 points. I am not sure of the outcome, but that will not happen. CrossFit wins 128.4 to 68.1.

v.

Pistol v. Mush’s Mongrels

Pistol would need an absolute disaster from Purdy to not win this week. Prior to Monday night he saw 25 from A.J. Brown, 23 from Gibbs, 17 from Sutton, 16 from Ford, 12 from Kenny Walker in a revenge game and 11 from Javonte Williams in a revenge game. Mush set a lineup. That is honorable. He just didn’t see enough to get a win, shucks. James Cook had 18, Palmer had 16, Rachaad White saw 13 in a revenge game, Mikey T put up a dozen and Dionte Johnson came back and put up 10. Mush keeps the 1.01 and Pistol picks up a win 141.2 to 127.95.

v.

Teach v. Daddy Wombat

Teach was down bad heading into Sunday and Monday night, but things would tighten up and he would need some points Monday night to get it done. Teach saw 10 from Doubs and 12 from Stevenson as the only real highlights during the early slate. The Dolphins trio was a letdown. Only Tyreek saw 20. Tua and Waddle combined for 26. Not a great trio this weekend. K.J. Osborn and Hockenson would go on Monday night and would need 30ish combined points to get it done. That is to be determined. D.W. started out hot with 23 from Kamara on Thursday night. Hurts had 33 on Sunday night. These are big weeks and a huge help for D.W. to hopefully hold off Teach. Josh Downs sprung for 21 and Jaxon Smith-Njigba burst onto the scene for 14 points. That is a huge help from two rookies. Would it be enough? We look back to Hock and Osbourn who combined for 21. D.W. wins 110.09 to 104.8.

v.

Trashman v. PeePaw

Trashman took out the trash this week. PeePaw’s spiral is confusing but possibly warranted as PeePaw was quick to claim the title after week 3. Things have only gotten worse for PeePaw. Trashman had a big week from Mark Andrews with 20, Pacheco had 14, Tutu Atwell had 10 and Addison would have a solid Monday night for 28. PeePaw saw a terrible start on Thursday night by putting up 1 point in the flex spot with Ridley. Jeff Wilson also saw 1 point. The good was Gus Edwards for 21, Rashee Rice with 15 and Jaylen Warren for 10. Aiyuk would go Monday Night and would need over 25 points. Aiyuk did his best but came up short. Trashman wins 122.1 to 87.85.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 7 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 7 Preview. We could have had an all time GOTW but one team did not want it bad enough or maybe they set up the perfect let down spot. We have our other matchups, Professor Pickum and an all-new Power Rankings. This week we could see more separation at the top and bottom of the rankings. We do not have much time to waste so let’s get to it.

Game of the week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Touchdown Guy

We could have had a matchup for first place, but TDG did not want it bad enough. These two are familiar foes, they always end up in these big matchups. Both teams have stud QBs in Mahomes and the Tall Josh Allen. Mahomes has been mediocre this year and Allen is dinged up after last week. The big RB matchups are Etienne and Josh Jacobs. The bad RBs are Kareem Hunt and Antonio Gibson, for now unless one of these two spend up for the Craig Reynolds to try and get the win this week. Well that one person was TDG, spending $50 to get Reynolds and now Gibby is on the bench. The TE matchup is between two veteran TEs. JD3 had Logan Thomas and TDG is going with George Kittle, that should lean Kittle but he has had highs and lows this year where Logan has been a little more consistent albeit bad last week. Both TEs need to bounce back. The rest are WRs. The big guns are JD3’s 4 of Diggs, Allen, McLaurin and Pittman. TDG is rolling two WR duos in Kupp/Nacua and Evans/Godwin. The remaining miscellaneous WRs are  Mooney and Moore for JD3 and Kendrick Bourne and Michael Wilson for TDG. Right now, TDG was less than a one point favorite before Reynolds, now he is a 2.5 point favorite. This one will go down to the wire and it will either be the QB matchup or a sneaky WR that gets it done.

v.

Bruce v. Batman

Bruce may or may not put out a legitimate lineup. We will see what his excuse is this week. Batman has Lamar, Swift, spot start Zach Evans, DeVonta Smit, Olave, Jakobi Meyers and possible spot start Elijah Mitchell. Batman should get the win and put himself in a better position for Playoff Contention. Bruce said that he did not like tanking for the fact that it may effect playoff implications, we will see if he is a man of his word or a coward. Bruce has been a coward thus far, so it is likely that the trend will continue.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. CrossFit

As of right now, CrossFit has Justin Fields in his lineup and is still a 45 point favorite in the matchup. B.B. has Bijan and Mattison (if we are forcing it). CrossFit will need to find a QB for this week. Other than that CrossFit has Mostert, CMC, Barkley, Ekeler, Cooper, Lockett, St. Brown and Kelce. What a lineup. CrossFit wins this one big and his team is going to make a push for the championship.

v.

Pistol v. Mush’s Mongrels

Pistol needs a win this week and he has found the perfect opponent. Pistol needs a bounce back from either Purdy or Love, whoever he rolls out there. Pistol has Kenny Walker, Javonte Williams, Gibbs, Sutton, A.J. Brown, Pitts, and Jayden Reed. Mush, I don’t know, will Mush put out a lineup, will it even matter? Mush has James Cook, Rachaad White, Josh Palmer, Mikey T, Christian Kirk and Hollywood Brown. This one should be pretty close to even come kickoff, I think Pistol gets it done because Mush will maneuver one or two players.

v.

Teach v. Daddy Wombat

Teach has the trio of Tua, Hill and Waddle. Teach also has B-Rob and Rhomandre. The final player in the mix for Teach is T.J. Hockenson who has been ok this year, which for TEs is great. D.W. has some top end talent. D.W. has Hurts, Kamara and Metcalf. Roschon Johnson should be back this week and will be crucial to D.W.’s success. The rest of D.W.’s team are a lot of players that show promise but are inconsistent, Jeudy, Gabe Davis and Josh Downs. Teach should be a 15 point favorite when we get down to it, we will see if he can hold of D.W. in a must win week. I think Teach gets it done.

v.

Trashman v. PeePaw

I am not sure what happened to PeePaw’s team, but it does not have the juice that it once did. Trashman is missing Chubb big time. Trashman has Pacheco and Mark Andrews, those are the big highlights. PeePaw has Herbert, Davante, Aiyuk and Ridley. PeePaw has the bigger names and should get the win. I am not sure why projections only have PeePaw as a 10 point favorite. I think the projections figure it out by kickoff and PeePaw gets it done.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Professor Pickum has his Week 4 Study Guide.

Good morning class, we have the second chapter of Professor Pickum.

Atlanta @ Tampa Bay -2.5

  • Hypothesis:
    • I hate this pick…BUT it is so square it just might be sharp
    • Atlanta has failed to cover a spread since Week 1… which means they’re due…. But not this week on the road vs a Tampa team looking to bounce back from a Lions beat down

Miami +3 @ Philadelphia

  • Hypothesis:
    • Good teams win and great teams cover
    • With a 5-1 record and 9-1 ATS in the last 10 games, Miami just so happens to be a good great team
    • For these reasons, The Professor has no choice but to ride Miami until the fins fall off

Detroit +3 @ Baltimore

  • Hypothesis:
    • Baltimore offense is struggling and has become 1 dimensional
    • Detroit defense is too good for Lamar to beat on his own
    • I like Detroit to take a lead early and choke Baltimore out in a slow and painful death

Professor Pickum is 8-2 overall and was 3-1 last week.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

We got a little movement. The middle of the pack moved around. Nothing too crazy. We find the same team at the bottom, bad at winning, bad at losing, bad at drafting, bad at trading, all around bad guy.

That does it for this week. Exciting times are ahead. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Recap. It is lonely at the top for one team and oh so lonely at the bottom for another. Both teams control their destiny going forward and it is going to be fun to watch. These next few weeks will be vacay for the kid, so we will not mess around and get right to it.

Game of the week.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Bruce

Mush entered this week with a stellar lineup, but after seeing his opponent play an undrafted free agent who accumulated 0 stats on Thursday night, Mush knew dirty pool was at play. Not a lot to report here other than Mush lost and ultimately wins the #1 pick for now. Mush did see Deebo get banged up in the loss, which does not make him the tasty trade target that Mush was hoping for. Mush’s team is so bad, it is tough to make trade for cases for a team entering a second rebuild in four years.

v.

PeePaw v. Bottom Bunk

This one would come down to Monday night, but for a team that has talked quite a bit of juice it is not a good look to need Monday night when you are facing the likes of B.B. PeePaw had Herbert and CeeDee Lamb going into Monday night. PeePaw saw a lot of let down across the board. Aiyuk had 10 and Schultz had 14. Herbert and Lamb would need to combine for at least 50 and outscore Jake Ferguson. B.B. saw Breece put up 18, Bijan had 11, Drake London went off for 17 and Jameson Williams had 12. Could B.B. hold off PeePaw? B.B. did 107.65 to 97.55.

v.

Batman v. Pistol

Batman is so hot right now. Batman needs to cleanup some of these close ones to stay in that last playoff spot contention. Batman saw a lot from Kyren Williams with 22, Chuba added 16, Olave had 13, Jakobi put up 15 and Lamar won the QB matchup with 23. Pistol really missed out on the QB points. Purdy only had 12. A.J. Brown led the way with 17, Kenny Walker had 16, Jerome Ford was RB2 for the Browns with 10, Sutton, Garrett Wilson, and Kyle Pitts all had 12 a piece. Pistol did not have anyone go off and the let down at QB cost him this week. Batman wins 115.95 to 103.75.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Teach

Teach fooled everyone and showed up this Week. TDG wanted a Tee Higgins revenge game, did not get one. Josh Allen was fine, D-Train had 18, Jacobs put up 10 and Godwin had 11. The big plays were from Adam Thielen with 23 and Cooper Kupp with 24. Teach loves the Tua trio. Tua had 33, Tyreek had 25 and Waddle had 15. That is a lot of points. B-Rob got his revenge on TDG with 13 points. Rhomandre Stevenson had a big week with 16. All Teach needed was for Tony Pollard to hang onto the ball, and he did ☹, Teach gets a big win 140.9 to 123.15.

v.

CrossFit v. Trashman

CrossFit just needed more than negative 36 points on Monday to get the win. CrossFit lost Fields in this matchup and still just had to not have negative 36 points. Mostert led the way with 33, Amon-Ra St. Brown followed that up with 24, Kelce had 17, Amari Cooper had 13 so did CMC, Tyler Lockett and Saquon locked in 12 a piece. Ekeler would still go on Monday night. Trashman didn’t see much missing the 100 point mark. Zack Moss still had 15, Pacheco had 13, Curty Sam scored and had 12, and Addison put up 10. Not a great week for Trashman, will be interesting to see if he starts to send out some trade for the rebuild he absolutely needs. CrossFit wins 141.2 to 97.85. CrossFit was lead dog this week.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Remember how D.W. had the advantage at RB2? PSYCH, Devin Singletary outscored Dameon Pierce, what a week. D.W. won the QB matchup by 2 points and the TE matchup by 1, and the last flex spot by .3. Otherwise JD3 had the advantage lead by Etienne with 22, and Pittman and Diggs doubling up with 15 a piece. Keenan was still going on Monday and he was putting up points. JD3 gets the win 127.22 to 78.1 and holds sole possession of first place.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Good morning class, let’s take a look at Professor Pickum.

What a week, we now have a clear #1 and #12, we will have to wait and see if the Power Rankings reflects that. TDG let everyone down for setting up a huge GOTW, who knows who will get the spotlight tomorrow? It is anyones guess. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 6 Preview. We have an even worse GOTW. It is so bad that Big Sean and Nicki Minaj even wrote a song about it. We have other games going on too. Professor Pickum will have an extra pick in this weeks study guide and we have an all-new Power Rankings with an all-new #1. Let’s dive into Week 6.

Game of the week.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Bruce

This matchup is for last place or for the first pick. These two titans square off to see if anybody can hit 100 points. I would not be surprised if Bruce pulls his starters last minute because he’s a coward. Mush doesn’t have a lot going on. He has Deebo, James Cook, Rachaad White and Hollywood Brown. Mush is 9th in scoring, so he’s a powerhouse in this matchup. Bruce is a coward with D.J. Moore and J.T. Bruce is last in scoring. Somehow Mush is only a 5 point favorite, that’s embarrassing even for him. I think Bruce gets the win and hurts his draft stock because he literally cannot win at all.

v.

PeePaw v. Bottom BunkPeePaw is going to win this one. PeePaw lost Justin Jefferson to IR, but he could not ask for a better opponent for this week. PeePaw has Herbie, Gus Bus, Monty, Adams, Aiyuk, Ridley and Lamb. B.B. hasn’t set his lineup yet. B.B. has Breece, Bijan and Drake London. If B.B. sets his optimum lineup he is still a 25 point dog. PeePaw by a million.

v.

Batman v. Pistol

Batman is not one for violence, some of Pistol’s losses this year have been violent. This one will be quite the showing. Batman has Lamar, Swift, Kyren, Olave, Jakobi, DeVonta Smith and Waller. The bad is Zay Jones and Dotson so far this year. Pistol has Brock Purdy at the helm and hoping he can have a boom week. Kenny Walker, A.J. Brown and Gibbs will have to make up the rest of the points. Batman has the edge due to better high end players but Pistol has a better balance. It will be a close one, but I have to ride with Batman on this one.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Teach This could have been a good matchup, but Teach stinks. TDG has the taller QB, Bigger Backs, older WRs and a better tight end. TDG has Josh Allen, D-Train, Jacobs, Thielen, Mike Evans, Godwin, Cooper and Puca and George Kittle. What a lineup. That has to be one of the best lineups in the league. Teach has Tua, Tyreek and Waddle. Teach also has B-Rob and Mixon. Teach also has Hockenson. Teach is also going with Rhamondre Stevenson who, like Teach, stinks. TDG is still somehow only an 8 point favorite, however, I think TDG gets it done and sets up an absolute shootout for next week.

v.

CrossFit v. TrashmanCrossFit could use a win. The former champ is looking to rebound after a miserable two week stretch. CrossFit is going with Fields over Dak. CrossFit could really use Ekeler and Barkley back in his lineup, those two have been out and caused CrossFit to stumble. Speaking of injuries, Mostert is the beneficiary of an injured Dolphins backfield, he should be the sure start this week. CrossFit has two of his best players in Amon-Ra St. Brown and Travis Kelce with a questionable tag right now, he needs one of those guys to go this weekend. Trashman is trash, man. He doesn’t plan ahead and just lives in the moment. Which makes him a quality individual but terrible dynasty manager. He does not have his lineup in order right now while still having Aaron Jones in his lineup and Christian Watson. Trashman has Pacheco, Mark Andrews and Sam LaPorta, other than that who cares. With an optimal lineup, CrossFit is still a 30 point favorite, no way CrossFit continues the skid.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

The only spot that D.W. has an advantage is at the RB2 position with Kamara or Pierce being better than Miles Sanders. That is a tough look. D.W. has Hurts, Gabe the Babe and Jerry Jeudy. JD3 has the hottest lineup in the league. Mahomes, Etienne, Diggs, Pittman, Collins, Chase and Allen. This is currently a 45 point game, with some roster shuffling it could be as close as 30, JD3 should get the job done and gear up for an important week, next week.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Good morning class, we have the second chapter of Professor Pickum.

Hypothesis

·       Dolphins Offense is HOT

·       Panthers everything is NOT

Hypothesis

·       The Professor was perfect last week and that means the Writer has graciously gifted us with a bonus pick. So why not carry this party into the work week?

·       Desperate times in Dallas call for desperate measures. The Cowboys and desperate. Big Mike taking desperate measures? Gimme dat botched clock management. Desperate Dak? Gimme dem picks

·       Herbert takes care of the ball. Ill take the points at home

Professor Pickum is 5-1 overall.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

With a big week comes a big jump, TDG can settle his differences next week. D.W. moved up and Mush moved down. Mush and Bruce will settle their claim for worst after this week. The middle really stayed the same. We will see how things shake out after this weekend.

That does it, I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. We will see if there is any shake up after this weekend, we will see who gets out healthy and can keep things moving. There should be some trades soon once the top and bottom of the league is more settled in. It is about to get interesting

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Recap. What a weekend, oh how the mighty have fallen. We have some separation in the league. Two teams reign supreme. Two teams are in a nose dive. We also check in with Professor Pickum and and see what his grade is so far. Let’s get down to it.

Game of the week.

v.

Trashman v. Bottom Bunk

This terrible GOTW turned out to be a sneaky one. Trashman not having much going on was forced to start Zack Moss. Jonathan Taylor was in the way. Just kidding. Moss put up 33 points. T-Law had 23, Pacheco had 13, Addison had 15, Mark Andrews had 10, Christian Watson had at least 10 and Same LaPorta had 18 points. Trashman had Aaron Jones in his lineup who was inactive, would that cost him the spotlight? Bottom Bunk saw an unfortunate injury to Anthony Richardson ending his day early, and possibly a month, with 6 points. B.B. saw a breakout from 3 players, Breece had 27, Pickens had 24 and Goedert had 22. Having these three go off it would almost be impossible to lease right? Well, you haven’t seen B.B.’s team. Bijan added 11, Mattison added 12 and Drake London had 12. B.B. had a big week (for B.B.) and it would not be enough. Trashman wins 135.85 to 121.4.

v.

Teach v. Bruce

Teach did not bounce back, Bruce is still a coward, Bruce wins 134.55 to 108.75. Bruce saw 45 from D.J. Moore and a much needed 36 for Joe Burrow.

v.

Batman v. Daddy Wombat

Batman is just playing to the competition. That is not good when you are facing D.W. Achane lead the way with 21, Jakobi Meyers had 17, Lamar had 15, Swift had 14, Waller had 13 and Zay Jones had 10. It is never a good thing if your QB is the #3 scorer on the week and is not over 20 points. Daddy Wombats knew he was in it, maybe, D.W. may have been on vacay. How could you lose to a team on vacay. Hurts hurt the head to head QB matchup putting up 35 points. Gabe the Babe had 19, Kamara with 17, and Downs with 13. The QB matchup was too much for Batman. D.W. gets the win 122.15 to 109.2.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Mush’s Mongrels

Josh Allen is so tall and so is the lead TDG has in his division (1 game). Allen lead the way with 38. The big breakouts were from Kittle putting up 3 TDs and 26 points. Thielen keeps finding a way to get it done, he put up 22. Then TDG saw some solid production from Jacobs with 17, but it was the Rams duo that really shocked everyone, how would Puca be with Cooper back in action? Would Cooper Kupp go right back to what he was? The gangs alright, Puca had 17 and Kupp had 16. What a week for TDG. His opponent, not so much. Calvin Austin and Clyde combined for 0.4 points. Jimmy G had 17, Hollywood has been solid all year with 14, Christian Kirk had 11 and Deebo rounded things off with 10. TDG doubled up Mush, 156.35 to 75.32.

v.

CrossFit v. PeePaw

Each team needed a win here. Neither team showed much dominance in a low scoring let down week. CrossFit saw a lot out of Fields getting a 45 point outing. Kelce would add a swift 18, Mostert got a late TD to have 15 and CMC put up 13. But boy oh boy did he have some ugly starts. Brightwell, Westbrook-Ikhine, and Brandon Johnson had 2.8 points. PeePaw saw another insane week from Monty with 20. Kirk had a solid 30 in the start with Herbert on bye. Calvin Ridley put up 17. Spot start Jaleel McLaughlin added a sweet 16. Those performances for PeePaw were enough to squeak by CrossFit, 117.9 to 113.8.

v.

Pistol v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

If you thought the TDG v. Mush was a lopsided affair, do I have a treat for you. Pistol had 2 guys score double digits. A.J. Brown had 16 and Kyle Pitts had 12. JD3 had 2 players outperform Patty Mahomes. Mahomes had 29. Ja’Marr Chase stormed to a whopping 45 points and Travis Etienne run Travie run for 34. Diggs dug out 20 points, D-Hop jumped up for 18 and Logan Thomas looked like a train hauling in 9 catches and a tud for 16 points. JD3 was lead dog and almost tripled Pistol, 183.75 to 66.1.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into Professor Pickum.

That does it for this week, what a week. There will be quite the shake up to the power rankings. Two teams are out in front and it does not look like they will be slowing down. Two teams are at the bottom and it does not look like they will be speeding up. Tomorrow morning we will look at the GOTW, matchups, Prof. Pickum and the power rankings. It will be a doozy. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.
