Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 5 Preview. Last week really threw us for a loop. We have a HOT Game of the Week, Professor Pickum is hot too and making some great picks and an all-new Power Rankings with a new #1. Let’s get to it.

Game of the week.

v.

Trashman v. Bottom Bunk

I said this was a hot GOTW. It is hot garbage. Trashman has T-Law, Aaron Jones, Zack Moss if JT doesn’t start, Allgeier even though Bijan starts, Pacheco who is an electric start, Tutu, Christian Watson, Jordan Addison and the TE duo of Mark Andrews and Sam LePorta. B.B. should put Anthony Richardson in his lineup, but he will likely have to move around his lineup. Mattison, Justice Hill, Breece Hall, Bijan, Drake London, Pickens, Devante Parker and the TE duo of Goedert and Ferguson. This should be an even matchup once lineups are set. Maybe Trashman will let B.B. set his lineup after kickoff to test out his rule proposal.

v.

Teach v. Bruce

Teach needs a bounce back game, Bruce is a coward, Teach wins as the 40 point favorite.

v.

Batman v. Daddy Wombat

Batman is looking to stay hot. Batman has show some fire power and other weeks let downs. He just cannot phone it in this weekend. Lamar, Swift, Kyren, Achane, DeVonta, Olave and Darren Waller. Any points out of Waller would be a miracle. D.W. still has Metcalf in the lineup. The W. of D.W. is on vacay, so they could use some help. Hurts, Pierce, Kamara, Jeudy, Gabe the Babe, Tank and maybe Tyler Higbee. If we have set lineups, this should be a tight one. I do not like the odds of D.W. setting his lineup, so I am going to give the edge to Batman.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. Mush’s Mongrels

Touchdown Guy is at the top of his division after the big GOTW win last weekend. The tall Josh Allen, D-Train, Jacobs, Conner, Thielen, Puca, and Kittle. The question marks come with if Higgins is a go and if Cooper Kupp is off the IR. These two guys will certainly help TDG. TDG should be able to manage on his own this week. Mush is going with Jimmy G this weekend with Geno on the bye. Deebo is a little banged up. Clyde is getting the start. I do not like that. James Cook is in the lineup, Christian Kirk, Hollywood and Mikey T. TDG is a 25 point favorite. As long as TDG’s team does not implode in the next couple days, I think TDG gets another win on the season.

v.

CrossFit v. PeePaw

Both of these teams took a fat L last weekend. One was a lot worse than the other. CrossFit is giving Fields the nod, Mostert is looking to bounce back from a tough week, CMC is a monster, Amon-Ra St. Brown is a machine, and Kelce, I mean he’s the hottest thing in the world right now. The problem is Nelson Agholor, Ertz and Raymond all are in CrossFit’s lineup. CrossFit could be going through rough patch during the byes because he does not have the depth, just a lot of top end talent. PeePaw is still our overall points leader. Last time I checked, that’s good. PeePaw is caught on a QB bye week, Kirk gets the nod, Monty looks to continue to frustrate everyone but PeePaw, Jaylen Warren, Davante, the bang bang with Kirk to J.J., Mims, Ridley, Lamb and Aiyuk. PeePaw is a 26 point favorite. He has his top end receivers still going this week, CrossFit continues his decline and PeePaw gets the win.

v.

Pistol v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Pistol is still in the mix. Pistol could use an upset win. Pistol is hoping Jordan Love can pull through for him on Monday night to get his the big dub. Pistol also has Khalil Herbert, Gibbs, Dalvin, Sutton, Jaylen Reed, Lazard, Garrett Wilson and Pitts. What Pistol really needs is a big week out of A.J. Brown again. Pistol needs a couple big time performances in order to compete with JD3. JD3 is at mostly full strength. Keenan Allen is on the bye. JD3 still has Mahomes, Sanders, Etienne, Diggs, McLaurin, Pittman, Chase and Nico. D-Hop is the Keenan Replacement for the week. Not a terrible name to have as a backup, maybe D-Hop can finally produce. JD3 is a 30 point favorite. JD3 should win this week but is known to play up or down to the competition.

That does it for the matchups, now we get into the picks.

Good morning class, we have the second chapter of Professor Pickum.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Professor Pickum has his Week 2 Study Guide.

Chicago Bears @ Washington Commanders O44

Hypothesis

  • Do I like Primetime Overs? No
  • Do I like short week overs? Not Particularly
  • Is Justin Fields the Guy? No
  • Are both of these defenses absolutely terrible, bottom of the barrel, don’t give a shoot, steaming garbage? YES*
    • *Editors note – Professor Pickum used more colorful language that does not necessarily reflect the traditions and values of this blog
  • Do they each give up an average of 30+ points per game? YES
  • Is the Professor nutty for this pick? We’ll see

New York Giants @ Miami Dolphins -11.5

Hypothesis

  • Giants SUCK
  • Daniel Jones is the most scared and confused man in the world and will HAVE to throw to keep up with the Dolphins high powered offensive attack [insert gif of Daniel Jones looking terrified under center)
  • Giants have yet to cover a spread
  • Botom line, Giants BAD Dolphins Good

New York Jets @ Denver Broncos O44

Hypothesis

  • Nathaniel Hackett revenge game
  • Sean Payton is a joke
  • Broncos are the WORST defense in the NFL by nearly ever metric including a whopping 37.5 points allowed per game

Professor Pickum went 2-1 last week and is 2-1 overall.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

Big week for TDG so he goes up, in a rare lose and move up we see PeePaw, JD3 gets a bump, Teach settles in, CrossFit crashes and not a whole lot of movement at the bottom of the rankings.

That is a wrap on this week’s preview. It should be a fun one. Lot of blowouts, more separation in the rankings. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Recap. The first week and Professor Pickum delivered not only some picks but great matchups. I don’t know if he deserves all the credit, but why not show the newbie some love. We had a lot going on and things are starting to heat up. We have our GOTW, matchups and Professor Pickum’s first report card, let’s get to it.

Game of the week.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. PeePaw

Touchdown Guy v. PeePaw what a week. It’s not every day that you get the top two scores of the week in a GOTW. This was exciting at least for one team. TDG saw an incredible performance by the Tall Josh Allen, hitting the 50 point mark. TDG also saw a throw back performance by one of the hardest runners in the NFL, D-Train put up 26 points. Henry wasn’t the only RB to run up the score, Josh Jacobs put up two dozen. Adam Thielen and B-Rob each had a dozen of their own. TDG had a combined 21 from his Tampa Bay Wide Receivers and hopefully Mike Evans injury is not that serious. The let down was George Kittle but the saving grace was Puca Nacua with 27 points. What a steal. Would it be enough? PeePaw had an early lead with David Montgomery putting up 33 points. No way PeePaw collapses right? Justin Jefferson added 24 points. I mean what could go wrong? Herby put up 28, Aiyuk had 18, Ridley with 11, and Davante Adams and Lamb each had 12. Nothing actually went wrong for PeePaw, all that was for dramatic effect. PeePaw just was bested by one of the best in the league and the best of the week. TDG finally wins a GOTW that has avoided him for a long time. TDG wins 178.7 to 161.65.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Daddy Wombat

Nothing like following up an all-time matchup with a dud. This would come down to Monday night with Mush needing Geno to put up some numbers and D.W. needing D.K. to hold him off. Mush cooked up 14 from James Cook, Christian Kirk matched, Hollywood had 13, and Deebo had 0.6. I’ll have to write back on how Geno finished up. D.W. had a 23 point lead going into Monday night. A good chunk of that came from Jalen Hurts and 34 points. Dameon Pierce added 11 in what was suppose to be a tough matchup. Gabe Davis found the endzone and had 14 points. Alvin Kamara is a reception machine, imagine if they got him some space, Kamara had 15.  The Geno to Metcalf connection was 13 points to 11 points. Daddy Wombat gets the win 106.95 to 86.9.

v.

Teach v. Bottom Bunk

If you want a worse matchup than the one above, do I have a treat for you. Teach did not see a lot out of the Miami trio, a combined 36-37 points. Romeo Doubs saw 14. That was about all the excitement from Teach. B.B. started Deshaun Watson. Yikes. Anthony Richardson had a cool 37 points on B.B.’s taxi. Mattison had 10, Bijan had 16, Fergie had 11 and Drake London had a TD in London for 10 points. Teach wins 87.8 to 71.5.

v.

Trashman v. Pistol

Trashman has an all-time rule proposal for next year. He essentially does not want to set his lineup until after kickoff. If I had a vote, I’d vote no. Trashman set his lineup this week and let’s see how it paid off. T-Law had 23. Pacheco matched. Christian Watson had 10. Mark Andrews, who is available for a first and a second allegedly put up 23 points. Pistol 28 from Purdy, 10 from Sutton, 11 from Garrett Wilson and what a performance from A.J. Brown with 34 points. I mean Pistol needed this win and he got it. Pistol still had Kenny Walks to go, he put up 14. Pistol gets the win 125.35 to 103.25.

v.

CrossFit v. Batman

We thought we had the upset of the year last week with Pistol over Teach. Could we get another one here? CrossFit had a monster of a week out of CMC with 45. Mostert was not a monster having 4 points. Dak had 22 points and Fields had 42 on his bench. Amon-Ra St. Brown had 14 points to open the week for CrossFit. CrossFit would need a huge night out of Lockett to avoid the upset. Batman needed a win. Batman started off with 1.1 from A.J. Dillon. Not the start you want. Batman had Lamar put up 36, Swift had 16, DeVonta Smith had 11, Kyren Williams had a tremendous performance outperforming Devon Achane 26 to 25.5. Batman still had Darren Waller to go. It wouldn’t matter. Batman wins 126.6 to 113.65 and pulls of the major upset causing chaos at the top of the power rankings.

v.

Bruce v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Bruce is a coward. JD3 wins 150.65 to 80.05. Only highlight is Nico Collins having 23.

What we have all been waiting for, Professor Pickum.

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Professor Pickum’s Weekly Study Guide:

-3.5 Minnesota Vikings @ Carolina Panthers

Bang!

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers Over 48

Nope.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee Titans Under 40.5

Bang!

Everyone welcome Professor Pickum and his 2-1 start to the season.

What a week, we should have some movement on the Power Rankings, an all-new Professor Pickum, GOTW and matchups. Things are heating up. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 4 Preview. We have our game of the week, matchups and power rankings as usual. But we know that, what we don’t know is what surprise we have hidden in this post, an introduction to a new face and a work in progress logo. Let’s get to it.

Game of the week.

v.

Touchdown Guy v. PeePaw

There has been a lot of trash talk coming from one member of the PCDL. There has also been a lot of shortcomings. TDG is looking to make a last ditch push to win the title again. TDG has a veteran team lead by the Tall Josh Allen, the clear cut taller QB in this matchup. TDG has D-Train who is yet to get chugging, B-Rob is having a great year, somehow James Conner is old reliable, but the concern in the RB room is if Jacobs will get going. Jacobs gets all the touches, but when is he going to get the production. TDG has the Tampa Bay duo in Evans and Godwin. TDG has Kittle and the young buck Puka Nacua. The secret sauce is if Adam Thielen can turn back the clock another week. PeePaw is relying on his WR depth. The WR gets the ball from the QB and that all starts with Herbert. PeePaw has some concerns at RB, rolling with Monty and Jaylen Warren. The WRs are Aiyuk, Ridley, Adams, Jefferson, Mims and Lamb. The TE is Hunter Henry. We have a better balance on TDG’s team but some high octane power on PeePaw’s team. We will see who goes off this weekend. Right now TDG is a 6 point favorite, this will be a barn burner, can’t wait to tune in and see what happens.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Daddy Wombat

Mush needs a win bad. Mush needs Deebo. Mush needs Josh Palmer to replace Mike Williams. Mush needs Rachaad White to do something. Mush needs Mikey T to catch a slant TD. Mush needs a lot of things. I don’t know if he will get all the results there, but I do think he gets the win. D.W. still has a good shot. D.W. is getting Kamara back. D.W. has D.K. D.W. has the better QB in Hurts. What D.W. doesn’t have is proven other players. There is a lot of hope. Dameon Pierce, Gabe Davis, JSN, Tank Dell and Jeudy all need to have consistent production to get D.W. a little closer to that 6 seed. Mush is a 9 point favorite, I think his safer floor gets it done for him this week.

v.

Teach v. Bottom Bunk

Teach is going to roll in this one. Tua is in a revenge game. Tua does not get too hot under the collar but with this being a revenge game and a divisional game, Tua, Tyreek and Waddle will go off. Teach also has Mixon, Pollard, and Hockenson. I think Teach just has too many guys to lose to B.B. B.B. still has Jamaal Williams in his lineup. B.B. only has Bijan that is worth mentioning. No matter how good the rookie RB is, it’s not going be enough this week. Teach gets his bounce back game as a 44 point favorite.

v.

Trashman v. Pistol

This is going to be a tight one. Trashman lost Chubb, but he should get Aaron Jones back this week. Zack Moss seems to be the workhorse in place of J.T. Pacheco is ok, Tutu is doing well and Trashman has two solid tight ends in Mark Andrews and Sam LePorta. Trashman is the underdog but if one of his guys goes off, then he’s back in the mix. Pistol is trying to make a push. Pistol has some solid young RBs, Walker, Gibbs, Javonte Williams and Jerome Ford. Pistol also has a lot of firepower in A.J. Brown and Garrett Wilson. The swing could be in playing Jaylen Reed. Trashman has Aaron Jones in the lineup and Christian Watson on his bench. If Watson goes, I do not like Jaylen Reed’s odds this week, which will mean Pistol should project lower points making this a tight one. I think Pistol has slightly better guys, Pistol should win a tight one.

v.

CrossFit v. Batman

CrossFit has been scoring points, Batman is now chasing them. CrossFit still has the QB concerns. He does not have RB concerns. CMC, Mostert and hopefully Ekeler will hold it down for CrossFit. CrossFit has Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Amon-Ra St. Brown at WR. CrossFit also has two good TEs in Kelce and Freiermuth. The huge let down is Kalif Raymond. That is going to be a problem for CrossFit. Batman has a sneaky team. Lamar, Swift, Kyren Williams, DeVonta Smith, Olave and Darren Waller. Batman is however chasing points this week. Rookie Devon Achane had 49 points last week, on Batman’s taxi. Batman now has Achane in the starting lineup. The problem is Achane is going against the Buffalo Bills. It will be feast or famine, all depending on if Achane can break off a monster run. We do not know what will happen with Achane, but one guarantee is that A.J. Dillon will not feast at all. Right now CrossFit is a 14 point favorite, while I love the comic book storyline for Batman to win, I don’t see it happening, CrossFit stays undefeated.

v.

Bruce v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Bruce is a coward. JD3 wins.

While that last preview was a let down, this is something that should pick you back up. We have an all new person making picks. Again, this is a reminder please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you. Introducing Professor Pickum (logo is a work in progress).

***Please check your local, county, state, country, gaming, and other laws to see if gambling is allowed and available near you.

Professor Pickum has some notes for you this week.

The first bullet point of Professor Pickum’s Weekly Study Guide:

-3.5 Minnesota Vikings @ Carolina Panthers

Hypothesis: The Vikings are bad, but not THIS bad. Inversely, the Panthers are this bad.

Second bullet point:

Las Vegas Raiders @ Los Angeles Chargers Over 48

Chargers have a great offense and a bad defense. Davante punishes bad defenses.

Third bullet point:

Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee Titans Under 40.5

Run heavy, inefficient offenses. Decent defenses. Under.

Everyone welcome Professor Pickum.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

Teach took a huge hit this week. The good news is the GOTW should let Teach move up a spot. Pistol had a good week, Batman had a tough loss, so did Trashman. There should a little shake up next week based on the matchups and potential upset of the year in Batman v. CrossFit. We will find out next week.

I hope we have a bloodbath in the last matchup. We also have an all-time GOTW that should shake up the power rankings. This should be an exciting week. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Recap. We had a lot of hope for some big upsets, but we only got one. We had a lot of scoring in fantasy this week, but did the teams start those players? Let’s dive in.

Game of the week.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Bruce

First team to 100 wins, neither hit. This should be a loss to both teams. Bottom Bunk started Jamaal Williams, who is on IR. B.B. only saw real points from 3 players, Watson had 31, Mattison had 15 and Pickens had 10. The Williams start cost B.B. a possible 4.1 points. What a disaster team. B.B. is looking to trade for a WR, being responsive would help, starting Jamaal Williams was not very responsive, maybe something gets done in 5 weeks. Bruce is somehow worse. Bruce is a certified scumbag. Bruce lied in the initial draft. Bruce took the future bust Najee Harris as the 1.01. Bruce then drafted Justyn Ross as a first round pick. If Bruce did not show his inept ability to manage a fantasy football team Bruce then traded a first, third, a depth WR, and a pro bowl QB for D.J. Moore. D.J. Moore has not finished above WR 18 on a season. Either way, Bruce sat D.J. Moore the last two weeks. This is the most obvious tank job. Bruce is in week 3 and has already tanked two weeks. This is directly impacting the league as the playoff picture is not even close to being set. Worse yet, Bruce has not completed his first week punishment for finishing with the lowest score of the week. Bruce again finished as the low man. Bottom Bunk wins this week 87.35 to 74.95.

v.

CrossFit v. Daddy Wombat

This one went exactly how you thought it would. CrossFit saw 21 a piece from Dak and Amari Cooper. CMC added 20, Kelce had 16 (insert Taylor Swift lyric) and Amon-Ra St. Brown had 15. Like TDG, CrossFit saw a lot of production from a vet, Raheem the Dream Mostert put up 42 points. That type of boom performance would ruin D.W.’s day. Hurts had 27, Piece 13, Metcalf 14, Gabe the Babe Davis and Jeudy had 10 a piece, and a surprise rookie burst onto the scene in Tank Dell with 23 points. It was a solid week for D.W. but he faced the wrong team. CrossFit wins 162.05 to 118.15.

v.

PeePaw v. Mush’s Mongrels

PeePaw was down heading into Sunday night but really turned it on. Herbert had 43, Jefferson had 24 and Mims had 20 (what a steal). The big turnaround for PeePaw cam Sunday night. Davante Adams turned back the clock for 36 points. This was a huge performance that PeePaw needed to handle a poorly run team. Mush is out of it. Too many injuries. Mush needs to really evaluate his strength and conditioning program. Geno had 23, James Cooked up 12, Josh Palmer had 13, Christian Kirk also had 13, Deebo had a fluke 22, Hollywood broke onto the scene with 15 and Mike Williams had 22 and unfortunately had an ACL injury that will end his and Mush’s season. What looked like a great matchup flipped late on Sunday. PeePaw wins 153.09 to 134.5.

v.

Pistol v. Teach

Upset alert? Teach is down 8 points with 5:34 left in the third and Mixon just scored and Tee Higgins is looking to get involved. Pistol rode dirty with Purdy who put up 30. Kenneth Walker the Third scored 29 points for Pistol in what may be the trade of the century with Javonte Walker’s struggles. Jerome Ford put up 18, Sutton had 15 and A.J. Brown had a late 18 points on Monday night. Would that be enough to hold off Teach? Teach saw 42 from Tua, 26 from Tyreek, 16 from Romeo oh Romeo where art thou Romeo, and 14 from Pollard. It would come down to the Mixon/Higgins combo, having 15 points as of now and needing 8 more and some change. The combo ended up with a total of 17 and comes up just short, Pistol wins a major upset 147.7 to 140.75.

v.

Batman v. Touchdown Guy

Batman needed a miracle Monday night and it looks like another dark knight in Gotham. Lamar had a solid showing with 23, Swift had another great week with 14, Olave matched the 14 and Jakobi Meyers added a dozen. A.J. Dillon, as the premier back for the Packers had 3.3 points. What an absolute bust. Batman would still have Kyren Williams on Monday night and he would need multiple second half TDs to get Batman back in the game. Touchdown Guy had a great week from an old vet. Adam Thielen was a reception machine and even got into the endzone for 26 points. Josh Allen had a manageable 28, James Conner had 19, Mike Evans added 15 on Monday, Kittle had a baker’s dozen and Jacobs put up 10. Puka Nacua would still go for TDG in the late Monday night spot. The Rams players really canceled each other out and TDG wins 134 to 102.8.

v.

Trashman v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Trashman’s loss of Nick Chubb was evident. Trashman not only felt the loss of Chubb, but in solidarity started Aaron Jones who was out this week. Zack Moss did pick up the RB room with 22 points. T-Law said I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 22 (why didn’t this happen in the CrossFit/Kelce write up), Pacheco had 15 and rookie TE Sam LaPorta is an absolute must start with 18 points. JD3 saw solid a solid week out of most of his guys. The leading scorer on his team was Keenan Allen with 39, Mahomes was just behind with 37, Etienne added 16, Diggs with 15, Sanders with 15 and Pittman saw 12. Jamarr Chase finally bounced back having 19+ points, no need to rub it in with what he’d finish with. The help of Keenan, like many veterans this week, helped push JD3 over with a win 167.35 to 113.55. JD3 was lead dog on the week.

That is all she wrote for the Week 3 Recap. We may have a new picker, but we have yet to get an official name. There will be an all new power rankings, I cannot wait to see where some of these teams fall. Until next time I hope you (not Bruce) and yours (not Bruce’s) have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 3 Preview. We got a lot going on so we are going to fly through this week. No real good matchups, so why don’t we put the bad teams in the spotlight. We have our PCDL GOTW, matchups and an all new power rankings. Let’s dive into it.

Game of the week.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Bruce

If I were going to not read a matchup, it would be this one. I would guess the first team to 100 wins, but I am not sure if either will make that. Bottom Bunk has Watson, Mattison, Breece, Bijan and Pickens. That is about it, there is no one on the bench, maybe Bottom Buk plays Justice Hill this week. B.B. spent $150 of the free agent budget on Justice Hill. Either way, it is not good for B.B. Bruce is in a worse spot. Joe Burrow is banged up, Zeke is washed up, Najee’s a back up, and Zay Flowers is all the way up. The point projection is 109 to 84, with Bottom Bunk as a rare favorite. This one will be the worst matchup of the year. Cannot wait for it to be over just like these team’s playoff hopes.

v.

CrossFit v. Daddy Wombat

CrossFit is undefeated, D.W. does not have a win. Both teams have a chance to turn things around. CrossFit just lost Saquan for at least a week. D.W. is a week away from Kamara. CrossFit is still looking good, he’s thick at RB. Mostert, CMC, and a questionable Ekeler. The WRs are Tyler Lockett, a questionable Amon-Ra St. Brown and a questionable Amari Cooper. CrossFit is rolling out 3 TEs, Kelce, Ertz and Freiermuth. That is not great, lot of injuries and 3 tight ends. The good news is CrossFit is going against D.W. D.W. has Hurts, Dameon Pierce, Roschon Johnson, Rondale Moore, Gabe Davis, JSN, Jeudy, Kmet and Higbee. D.W.’s best player in D.K. is questionable. CrossFit is about a 30 point favorite, I think CrossFit gets it done while his team is in shambles.

v.

PeePaw v. Mush’s Mongrels

PeePaw is coming off of a tough loss, so is Mush. This is a must win for both teams. PeePaw has Adams and Aiyuk a little banged up this week. PeePaw has Herb, Gus Bus, Jaylen “there’s a new Warren in town” Warren, J.J. Ridley, Lamb and Mims. What a crew. Mush has James “Grill Master” Cook, Rachaad White, Mike Willy, Christian Kirk, Deebo, Mikey T and Hollywood Brown. PeePaw has the bigger names, Mush has all these guys with hope. It will be an exciting matchup. Things could go either way, but I only see them going one way, PeePaw is a 20 point favorite and he’s going to get the win.

v.

Pistol v. Teach

Pistol suffered a loss and now has to face an absolute wagon. I’m talking dump truck wagon. Pistol is out gunned at QB with Purdy v. Tua. Pistol has a potential edge at RB, Walker, Gibbs, Javonte Williams and Jerome Ford. Teach is rocking Mixon, Rhomandre, Pollard and Matt Breida? I now Breida is getting the nod but yikes. Pistol also has Sutton, A.J. Brown, G. Wil, Pitts and Kincaid. Teach has Hill and Waddle, Higgins and Hock. What a group. I don’t see this thing going well for Pistol, chances are slim that it backfires on Teach, I think Teach wins in an absolute blowout as the 25 point favorite.

v.

Batman v. Touchdown Guy

This is a sneaky matchup. Batman has Lamar, Swift, Kyren Williams, DeVonta Smith, Olave and Waller. Batman may have some issues with OBJ and Jakobi Meyers as they are dealing with injuries. A.J. Dillon is completely healthy but runs like his feet do not work. Batman will need all his guys to click to take down TDG. TDG has the tall Josh Allen, D-Henry, B-Rob, all of the Tampa Bay receiving options in Evans and Godwin, Puka Nacua, James Conner and Kittle. TDG has Josh Jacobs off of bad week, so he’s looking to bounce back. Mike Evans is on an absolute mission to get a monster contract from someone, anyone, somebody has to pay this man. Like Mike Evans, TDG is on a mission to get back into the ship. TDG is a 17 point favorite, I think he gets it done this week.

v.

Trashman v. JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons

Trashman suffered a major loss last weekend in losing Nick Chubb. That’s a bad loss at any point, but losing him right before playing JD3 is terrible. Trashman has T-Law, Zack Moss, Pacheco, A-Rob, Tutu, Jordan Add, Curty Sam and Mark Andrews. If Aaron Jones is healthy, then this will be interesting, Chrisitan Watson, same thing, otherwise Allgeier is the option. JD3 cannot mess around this week. He needs a big number from Patty Mahomes, something from Sanders and Etienne, the WRs need to show up, Diggs, Chase, Allen, McLaurin, D-Hop and Pittman. JD3 should be a 30 point favorite come kickoff. If Trashman gets a healthy Packers option, this could get close. JD3 should get this done but after last week, who knows.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

Teach and CrossFit stay on top. TDG’s monster week puts him higher up in the ranks. Pistol takes a big loss on the rankings after the B.B. loss. Batman moves up with a big win. Those are some of the major moves on the rankings. Trashman drops a good amount due to the Nick Chubb loss. It is still early, so there will be a lot of movement early on. No hard feelings anyone.

Well that does it for the Week 3 preview. It should be a slow week. We will see how everything shakes out. With all these matchups being divisions, this is the week to try and create a little separation in the ranks. Only time will tell. Until next time I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Recap. We wanted a shake up and by golly did we get one. Upsets, points, injuries, we have it all this week. We got a lot going on and it all starts with the game of the week.

Game of the week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Teach

The biggest matchup of the year was an absolute snoozer. Teach jumped out early with 22 from Hock. That just about ended it there. JD3 had all early games, Mahomes had 31, Keenan put up 27, McLaurin had 14, Diggs and Pittman had 10 a piece. The problem is what is Jamarr doing? Etienne is questionable? D-Hop? JD3’s team is just not bringing enough juice. Teach loves juice, apple juice. The Tua trio with Hill and Waddle wasn’t out of this world, putting up 42 points. But the big swing from Chase’s let down to Tee Higgins 25 was unforgivable. Stevenson added 14, Mixon put up 12, and Pollard had 16. The big difference in the Bengals WR matchup and the TE differential are the noticeable differences in this matchup. Teach puts the screws to JD3 143.25 to 118.65.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. Touchdown Guy

D.W. made the lineup change and put Roschon Johnson in the lineup, chasing a 15 point week he had 5. The rookie will be alright. Hurts had 31, Metcalf had 11, Gabe Davis went off for 18. That would be it. TDG wishes he could have flipped his Week 1 and Week 2 scoring. TDG was lead dog. Let’s take a look at the 3 low scores for him. Kittle with 5, Jacobs with 7 and Godwin with 8. Let’s keep it going. Conner and Henry with 17 a piece. Puka Nacua had 23, Mike Evans 26, the better B. Robinson had 28 and Josh Allen had 36. What a week. TDG wins a blowout 170.8 to 89.65.

v.

PeePaw v. Batman

This game turned out to be a good one. Coming down to Monday night and the Jaylen Warren v. Chris Olave matchup. PeePaw and Batman pushed at QB with Herb and Jackson each having 32. PeePaw had 12 from Monty and Batman had 26 from Swift. PeePaw had 12 from Gus Bus. Batman had 21 from DeVonta Smith. PeePaw had 17 from Adams. Kyren Williams had 26 for Batman. Darren Waller got 11 for Batman. PeePaw had his routine 19 from Jefferson and 20 from Lamb. It would come down to who had more Monday night. Warren for PeePaw and Olave for Batman. Olave ended with 12 and snuck out the upset for Batman 141.55 to 138.65. A crucial win for Batman to keep an eye on that 6 seed.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Pistol

Bottom Bunk is a complete sicko. His team is worse. Bijan had 19, London had 15 and we had to wait until Monday night to see if anyone else would have double digits. Pistol needs this one to stay undefeated and to stay in the hunt for playoffs. Purdy only had 19, Kenny Walks had 17, Garrett Wilson had 15 and Dalvin had -0.3 points. This was not a pretty game. B.B. would need about 30 points from Deshaun Watson, Jamaal Williams and George Pickens on Monday night. B.B. had 41. Pickens long TD pushed B.B. past Pistol 103.45 to 90.6.

v.

Trashman v. Bruce

Trashman may have won this week but he lost in the end. Zack Moss had 19 for Trashman, Tutu had 12, Addison added 15 and Mark Andrews was back with 13. Nick Chubb unfortunately suffered a terrible knee injury. One of the purest running backs in the NFL, an absolute delight to watch march up and down the field week in and week out. Bruce didn’t have much going on. Burrow had 24 and Skyy Moore had 15. Bruce’s team is so bad he started Josh Reynolds who had a random 2 TDs this weekend and 21 points. Trashman pulls one out 101.3 to 98.4.

v.

CrossFit v. Mush’s Mongrels

We have another close one. Mush took all the criticism (years of criticism) and showed up this week. CrossFit put up big numbers. Dak had 29, Mostert had 25, Barkley had 24, Lockett had 22, CMC had 21, Kelce and St. Brown had 11 a piece. CrossFit would need something out of Amari Cooper and Freiermuth. Mush wanted this one bad. Geno had 34, James Cook cooked the Raiders for 18, Rachaad White had 19, Mike Will had 13, Christina Kirk had a godly 17, Deebo finally had some production with 19 and Hollywood found the endzone and 14. Mush had Mikey T and Calvin Austin to go Monday night. It was close. CrossFit had 14 on Monday and Mush had 12 on Monday. It was enough for CrossFit. CrossFit wins 160.05 to 146.95.

What a week 2. We have teams competing, teams unraveling, and teams just happy to be here, there was a big upset that will shake up the power rankings, there was a minor upset to shake up the bottom of the power rankings, and their was a heavyweight blowout that will cost a team dearly in the power ranks. Find out tomorrow on how things end up, until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 2 Preview. The standings are all shook up. We have one of the biggest matchups of the season already. It is a show stopper. After having 7 teams with under 100 points, you have to wonder, is the Commissioner on the hot seat? Find out as we dive into this weeks game of the week, matchups and the all new Power Rankings.

Game of the week.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Teach

This is the biggest matchup of the season so far and possible of the entire year. Two undefeated teams going at it at the top of their division. JD3 has the better QB, but Teach’s QB is fantasy hot. Mahomes and Tua square off this week. Neither Team is sporting much in the backfield. JD3 has Sanders and Etienne while Teach has Mixon, Pollard and Stevenson. I think Etienne probably gets the nod there if he gets his pass touches. We will jump to tight end because who cares, it is Symthe v. Hockenson, Hockenson and Teach get the nod there. As for the WR core, JD3 has Chase, Diggs, Allen, Hop, Pittman, and McLauren. Teach has Hill and Waddle, Higgins, Burks and Osborn. The big question is how does the Miami trio do? Hill and Waddle’s success directly impacts Tua. JD3 has options, he needs multiple quarterbacks to feed their WR1s. Right now the teams are tied for lead dog. This one is too close to call, I mean it is exactly tied as of right now, the writer is a Dolphins fan so while the odds are in JD3s favor, the heart wants what the heart wants. Buckle up this is going to be good showing.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. Touchdown Guy

D.W. still has Kamara in his starting lineup. I mean what are we doing? Hurts, Pierce, Metcalf, and JSN. Then the cliff falls off. D.W. is projected about 115 if he checks the app and moves Kamara out. TDG needs a bounce back in the worst way. A loss this week would be a real shot to the gut. TDG is running it back with Josh Allen, D-Henry, Jacobs, Mike Evans, James Conner, B-Rob, Kittle and Puka Nacua. The rookie is going to be TDG’s saving grace. TDG also made a big move today. TDG traded away a 2024 2nd round pick and a 2025 1st round pick, for a 2024 4th round pick and Chris Godwin. TDG now has the #1 and #2 pass catching option for Baker Mayfield. TDG is about a 25 point favorite, I think TDG gets it done. TDG gets right, gets tight.

v.

PeePaw v. Batman

PeePaw is going to be a problem all year with his explosive WR core. Herbert and Monty just need to maintain safe floors. Adams, J.J., Ridley, Lamb and Aiyuk. This is not good for whoever PeePaw is playing. PeePaw is on a mission. Batman is coming off of a tough loss. Batman has Lamar, DeVonta Smith, Chris Olave and Darren Waller. That is about it. Batman does not have the fire power to compete with PeePaw and this one should be over quick. PeePaw is a 22 point favorite and I wouldn’t be surprised if its more than that by the end of Monday.

v.

Bottom Bunk v. Pistol

Bottom Bunk is historically bad at this whole dynasty thing. He has Alexander Mattison, Bijan, and Breece Hall. Running backs are not enough in this league. B.B. does not have enough this week. Pistol is shooting for that 6 seed. Kenny Walker, Javonte Williams, Dalvin, Garrett Wilson and A.J. Brown. I know it is only a 15 point difference, but Pistol is going to win this one in a tight matchup like he always does. Pistol just knows how to squeak out a win.

v.

Trashman v. Bruce

This one is a doozey. Trashman has an injured Aaron Jones, if Aaron Jones is out this will be a lot tighter than we could ever imagine. Trashman has Nick Chubb and Pacheco. Trasman also needs Mark Andrews to be back in the mix, Lamar needs his WR1. Trashman has Randall Cobb in his lineup, that is bad. Jordan Addison is the only WR worth mentioning as a positive play. Bruce needs Joe Burrow to get back and Najee to do anything. Bruce is starting two tight ends, Engram and Hunter Henry. Bruce also has Zay Flowers and D.J. Moore. Bruce is gearing up for the next few years as he traded away Chris Godwin and now has an addition 2nd round pick and a future 1st. There are not a lot of bright spots in this matchup. Trashman is an 12 point favorite at this time, I don’t think either team wins this week. Both somehow lose and both score under 100 points.

v.

CrossFit v. Mush’s Mongrels

CrossFit is looking to make a back to back back at the chip. CMC, Barkley, Mostert, maybe Ekeler, Amari Cooper, St. Brown, maybe Kelce, we shall see. CrossFit has all the fire you could want. The question is the QB play, Dak hasn’t had to play this year, can he get it done? Seriously, I need to know for other leagues, can Dak put up big numbers? Mush, well the season is over. James Cook looks good, Rachaad White looks bad. I mean Hayden Hurst in the flex is bad. Mikey T, Mikey Will, Deebo, Hollywood and Kirk are all solid WR options. But they just aren’t those wow type players you need to win when you are missing other pieces, let alone when you’re going up against a powerhouse like CrossFit. CrossFit is a 22 point favorite, I don’t think its close. CrossFit by a million.

Now for the all new Power Rankings.

Not a ton of movement here. Same old same old. PeePaw moves up a couple spots after his big week 1 performance. Batman unfortunately drops a couple spots just because he lost and some other teams had good weeks, like Pistol. That is about it for the big movements. Otherwise there is not a lot going on.

Well that does it for the Week 2 preview. We have 2 good matchups, one is exciting and one is boring. Either way, should be another week full of hope or heartbreak. Hopefully you have more hope than heartbreak this week, until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Recap

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Recap. It was a sloppy Week 1 of football, just how I like my steaks. We had a lot of big hitters miss the mark this weekend and the scores show it. We had some good scores and some awful scores. No big upsets this week, but we do see some teams that missed their window and will not see the outside for a long time.

Game of the week.

v.

CrossFit v. Touchdown Guy

We mentioned big hitters, CrossFit is full of them. CMC and Ekeler had an exact match of 24.4 points each. CrossFit had a nice little Thursday with Amon-Ra St. Brown getting a sweet 16 to start the week. CrossFit is still in a QB carousel. Fields had 21 on his bench, which isn’t a high bar to beat but Dak only had 9 points due to the Cowboys Defense blowing out the Giants. Mostert even snuck in a sneaky dozen. CrossFit had a solid week, but left it there for TDG to take. TDG did not take it. D-Henry had 13 and saw less snaps than his backup. Conner snuck in 10, Jacobs just couldn’t get things moving and did not find the endzone ending the day with 8 points. The good news for TDG was that B-Rob is the Commanders RB1 with 13 and Mike Evans gets it done with 16. Josh Allen would need a 50 point night to get TDG the win and despite one of the worst fantasy performances of all time, Allen came up short with 16 points. CrossFit wins this potential playoff matchup 114.25 to 83.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Batman

This one came down to Monday night with Mush needing something out of James Cook. Mush saw 14 from Geno, 11 from Dobbins but he is done for the season, and not much else. Mush is down bad. Mush hung onto Deebo for a little too long and also has an injury to Dionte Johnson. Good season to try and rethink something and focus on next years draft class. Batman did not show up either. Lamar got 10, DeVonta Smith saw 14 and Olave led the way with 15. The good news is those two young WRs are incredible. The bad news is D’Andre Swift is bad, A.J. Dillon is bad, and Van Jefferson did nothing as the pregame WR1 for the Rams. Batman will update his starting lineup and include Kyren Williams who had 18 points. Unfortunately for the near future Batman will probably miss Jakobi Meyers for a week at least but he was incredible in his debut in the Silver and Black with 25 points. Mush saw 8 from Cook and that was enough to best Batman but Batman’s future is not over like Mush. Mush wins 74 to 71.25.

v.

Bruce v. Pistol

Bruce may never see the light of day again. Missed window, concrete poured on the house, whole entire building a fire code. Joe Burrow, Zeke, Najee, D.J. Moore, Skyy Moore, Godwin, Mingo and Engram all had between 1 and 9.99 points. That is very bad. The QB, in a 6 point passing TD league, had under 10 points. Hunter Renfrow had no points and no stats, BIG YIKES. The only bright spot was Zay Flowers the rookie with a baker’s dozen. Bruce is the worst team in the league having scored 49.3 points. My goodness, under 50 points. There are no bye weeks, this is a full roster of 10 players, under 50. This league has seen individual athletes break the 50 mark, Bruce’s whole team couldn’t do it. This is arguably the worst performance in the history of the league. Pistol had a setback when Christian Watson was announced that he would be out. Good for Pistol he played the worst team of all time in any fantasy league. Jordan Love had a lovely 33 points. A.J. Brown and Courtland Sutton combined for 22 points. Pistol still had Dalvin and Garrett Wilson for Monday night. No one cared about Monday night once Rodgers went down so I am not going to say what they scored. Pistol wins 104.15 to 49.3.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. PeePaw

While Bruce is the worst team, Daddy Wombat is the worst managed. Alvin Kamara received the start despite the 3 game suspension. Hurts put up 18 points in a let down performance. D.K. and JSN combined for 15 points, 12 of them coming from D.K. Metcalf. Chase Claypool put up a goose egg for D.W. All and all a terrible performance for D.W. PeePaw went off in a week that he probably wishes he could have saved for literally any other opponent. Herbert only had 28, the points all came from the WR core. Aiyuk put up 29, J.J. and Ridley had 20 a piece, and Monty even added in 13. PeePaw is a well oiled machine, it’s just a matter of waiting to see what seed he gets in the playoffs. PeePaw wins commandingly 138 to 62.6.

v.

Trashman v. Teach

Trashman went up against last year’s second place team and a powerhouse. Trashman put up a good week but would it be enough? Lawrence had a solid 27, Aaron Jones came out swinging with 26 and is a must have for the Packers so hopefully his hammy is ok. Nick Chubb did Nick Chubb things and got his 15. The sneaky start was Tutu Atwell who had 15 and the rookie Jordan Addison found the endzone to get 14. Teach has his trio of Tua/Hill/Waddle that combined for almost 90 points. That beats a lot of teams this week. Stevenson had 12 and Pollard had 21. What a week for Teach. He picked up where he left off and runs away with a big win Week 1, 147.8 to 118.65 Teach was lead dog and currently leads the pack.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Bottom Bunk

Not a lot of people care about a completely one-sided affair, well one person does, but for the rest of you we won’t waste too much time here. JD3 handled a matchup he normally loses. Those fluke games. an inferior opponent, should win game, those have seemed to cause JD3 trouble in the past, not this year. JD3 saw 21 from Diggs, 20 from Pittman and 19 from Etienne. The TE position is an absolute liability for JD3. Bottom Bunk didn’t do terrible. I mean he wasn’t good but not terrible. I’m kidding. Drake London 0, Devante Parker 0, Mercole Hardman 0, and Dallas Goedert 0. B.B. did get 17 out of Bijan, 12 from Mattison and 15 from Breece. What a beat down, JD3 gets the win 132.7 to 82.5.

Well that does it for Week 2. A lot of one sided matchups. Hopefully, things get a little more competitive as the season goes on and hopefully more scoring. Tomorrow we will rinse and repeat with our Matchups and new Power Rankings. Until then I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Preview

Good morning everyone, welcome to the Pot Cakes Dynasty League Week 1 Preview. The fantasy season is underway. For those of you that have absolutely nothing, no wife, no kids, no family that checks in on you and only asks for your help when they know you are busy, no metabolism, don’t stress, the fantasy football season is upon us. For everyone else, must be nice. We have our Week 1 Preview, with the game of the week, an announcement on Dr. Tilt and the First Power Rankings of the 2023 Season. Let’s get it.

Game of the week.

v.

CrossFit v. Touchdown Guy

What a way to start the season. The Champion versus a former Champion and last year’s third place winner. What a headline. These two teams will likely be set up to meet again in Week 15/16/17. CrossFit is looking to repeat as he is the projected lead dog this week. CrossFit is repping a monstrous backfield, CMC, Ekeler, Barkley and Mostert. CMC is the redraft 1.01, Ekeler is a top 5 redraft pick, Barkley can sneak into the back of the first in a redraft and Mostert is the sneaky sleeper due to availability on an explosive Miami offense. What a group to start out the season in a tough matchup. CrossFit also has a couple solid receivers, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Amon-Ra St. Brown. That is also a sneaky group, none are a clear cut WR1 in fantasy but all fall in that WR2 range without issue. CrossFit rounds out his team with Dak and Kelce. Dak is a concern because he loves interceptions, Kelce is a concern because he just hyperextended his knee. If Kelce is out this is an even tougher matchup. TDG is looking to get back in the championship. Josh Allen is so tall, Derrick Henry still has a little juice in the tank, Jacobs signed a deal and will get the ball a ton this year. Then we move onto other guys, James Conner, B. Rob, Bob Woods, Mike Evans and George Kittle. As you can tell by the names mentioned TDG team is getting older and he needs to hit on these guys. Mike Evans and James Conner if healthy should carry a lot of the workload for their teams. B. Rob needs to solidify himself as Washington’s main back otherwise TDG will be stuck picking between B. Rob and Gibby. Bob Woods is washed, I don’t know if going to Houston that it will help his case at all. TDG needs his horses to take him to the finish line. It will be a dog fight, right now the projections are 148.25 to 125.32 in favor of CrossFit but that gap closes by 11 points if Kelce is out. I think CrossFit starts off the season how he left it last year, with a victory, don’t worry TDG will have plenty of wins this year, just not week 1.

v.

Mush’s Mongrels v. Batman

This is a crucial matchup for these two teams as they will be in the hunt for one of those wildcard spots. The 6 seed is wide open this year with a lot of teams just needing their top guys to stay healthy to sneak into the playoffs. Mush’s top guys are bad. J.K. Dobbins has shown flashes, but how bad is his knee? Rachaad White could be a sneaky play, but the Bucs are bad. James Cook could be sneaky, but the Bills hate RBs. Mike Williams will show flashes. Diontae Johnson is going on at least 17 weeks without a TD. Christian Kirk is now overshadowed by Ridley. Hollywood Brown is going to take shots but who is going to throw him the ball? The clear and obvious best player that Mush has is Deebo Samuel. Deebo is going to have to explode in games this year for Mush to make a push. Batman has some youth to help his case. Lamar is a stud, DeVonta Smith is a stud, and Chris Olave is a stud. Those are some great young players to build a team around. The building? The foundation is solid the roof, windows, and landscaping all need a little work. D’Andre Swift is somehow in this preseason mix of a three headed backfield, including Gainwell and Penney. A.J. Dillon is still stuck behind Aaron Jones and needs to prove himself in order to get a nice second contract. Jahan Dotson could lead the Commanders in receptions this year. Batman also has Darren Waller, who could be the Giants offense this year. This is a tight matchup with Mush projected at 122.42 and Batman at 115.54. I think Batman gets it done, he has the better QB, I think that does it for this Week 1 matchup.

v.

Bruce v. Pistol

Bruce is down so bad. Bruce has Joe Burrow, Najee Harris, D.J. Moore and that’s really it. Zeke, Skyy Moore, Tyler Boyd and Hunter Renfrow are all guys you do not want to have to rely on. Bruce does have some ok guys in Zay Flowers and Chris Godwin, but again not the top end talent you are really looking for when wanting to compete for a playoff chance. Pistol made some moves to put him back in the mix. Pistol has some youth. Jordan Love, Kenny Walks, J. Gibby, Javonte Williams, Toney, G-Will and Pitts. Lot of potential there. Pistol also has A.J. Brown and Dalvin Cook. A.J. Brown should provide a lot of points for Pistol and Dalvin should provide a nice safe floor for Pistol. It’s a solid mix of guys on paper. If Pistol gets the right matchups he should win a lot of game. Bruce will need a lot of matchups against Daddy Wombat to get wins. Pistol is the favorite 113.82 to 107.9, Pistol wins this week.

v.

Daddy Wombat v. PeePaw

If you are a fan of bloodbaths, you are in for a treat. Daddy Wombat is projected under 100 points Week 1, and if their roster is adjusted it will still be close. Jalen Hurts, Dameon Pierce and D.K. Metcalf are the highlights. D.W. is starting guys that might not even make the flex of a 14 team redraft league. Jeudy, Claypool and Rondale Moore. Gabe Davis is going to be streaky all year, highs and lows. PeePaw is stacked. Herbie, Davante, Aiyuk, Ridley, Lamb and last but not least Justin Jefferson. PeePaw also has David Monty and Marvin Mims. The biggest issue facing PeePaw today is that he does not have a second RB. That is something he will need to figure out or go all in on the waiver wire once things settle in. Either way that is PeePaw’s biggest issue and will be the one thing that will cost him a chip if not addressed. Charbonnet is waiting in the weeds. PeePaw is favored 130.93 to 95.62, PeePaw by a million.

v.

Trashman v. Teach

Trashman finds himself in an interesting position. He has two good RBs that he may want to consider trading for picks as the season goes on. Aaron Jones and Nick Chubb. Trashman also has Mark Andres. Those three should provide him a lot of points this year. The youth on Trashman’s team have some hope. Cam Akers, Pacheco, Terrace Marshall, Christian Watson, Jordan Addison and T-Law are a good youthful group. He could be set up for the long haul. If Trashman makes some moves he could really set himself up for two to three years. Trashman is one of those teams that will be on the fringe of playoffs. Teach is looking to compete for the top spot. Teach just needs a little of the same magic from last year. The Miami trio of Tua, Hill and Waddle can win him weeks. Mixon and Tee Higgins should give Teach a good floor with the half point ppr format. Hockenson signed a big deal so he needs his touches. The concerns are Stevenson and Juju in New England and if Burks can get any targets with the addition of Hopkins. Teach has his eggs in a few baskets and this can cause feast or famine. Teach is a favorite 141.78 to 120.33, Teach wins and hopefully Trashman has a losing streak so Chubb becomes available.

v.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons v. Bottom Bunk

While this is not going to be the same blood bath that we will see between PeePaw and D.W., JD3 should have no issues this week. JD3 has a lot of pieces and should rack up a lot of wins once the bye weeks kick in. Mahomes, Chase, Diggs, Etienne, Hopkins, McLaurin and Allen should provide solid floors with upside. Pittman may have issues with the young QB and Sanders is on a bad team. JD3 does not have a competent TE, that is going to be his biggest concern. We will see if any of JD3’s TEs can separate themselves this year to give him hope or if it will be a guessing game all year. Bottom Bunk is not looking good. He has Bijan, Breece, Mattison, Drake London and George Pickens. The downside is B.B. has Jamaal Williams, Hardman, and DeVante Parker. The fact that B.B. picked up DeVante today and is starting him is all you need to know about the state of his team. JD3 is a favorite 136.3 to 117.67, I’ll take JD3.

Dr. Tilt

Dr. Tilt is going through a license renewal. We will see If he or she joins us during the season. I think the season snuck up on all of us. While Dr. Tilt is out saving lives, we will see if he or she has time for some picks.

Now time for an all new Week 1 Power Rankings. The Rankings are based off of a combination start of season and project end of regular season ranks. When you see a person ranked in the top 4, it’s because they are in an easy division and bias is removed.

I think it’s still CrossFit’s league to lose. Teach benefits from another week division, the same with JD3. TDG and PeePaw will fight it out in the tough division and still sneak into the playoffs. I think Trashman’s RB due and QB play are enough to get him into the playoffs, making that last playoff spot is about having the highest floor and I think Trashman has that. Batman and Pistol will win the games they should and lose the ones they should. Mush and Bottom Bunk will just win a couple fluke games and Bruce will just win 1 more game than D.W. That will be how the league shapes up and that’s going to be tough to argue against.

Well that does it for Week 1. The quest for the championship trophy (which we do not have yet so if you are the commissioner maybe take a long look in the mirror and figure out what your life’s purpose is) starts now. Good luck in all your leagues and may the fantasy gods be in your favor. I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow. We will see you after all the games with the Week 1 Recap.

Again the red indicates a compensatory pick and blue indicates a trade.

Bottom Bunk – Draft Grade – A

1.01Bottom BunkBijan RobinsonRBATL
1.08Bottom BunkAnthony RicharsonQBIND
4.02Bottom BunkTyler ScottWRCHI
5.01Bottom BunkXavier HutchinsonWRHOU

Bottom Bunk grabbed 2 of the best players in the draft. Bijan at 1.01 was an incredible value. Bijan is ranked at RB2 at worst in most Dynasty redrafts. That is a steal. B.B. then traded the 1.10 and the 2.02 to move up to 1.08 to grab AR15. While it is likely that AR15 would have still been there at 1.10 and B.B. needed the 2.02 pick to grab a hopeful starter, he was dead set on Bijan and AR15. While Tyler Scott and Xavier Hutchinson are likely fringe cuts for their respective NFL teams, but they were best available and that’s all you can hope for that late in the draft.

Daddy Wombats – Draft Grade – A

4.01Daddy WombatsKayshon BoutteWRNE
5.02Daddy WombatsElijah HigginsTEMIA
5.09Daddy WombatsHendon HookerQBDET

Daddy Wombat had a lot of needs going into this draft, with a lot of picks they did the best they could. D.W. locked up the #1 WR in the draft. The only issue is that JSN also plays on the same team as D.K. and Geno is still their QB. Miller and Johnson are both RBs, at that point in the draft you are just trying to get RBs. If one of them hits this is an even better draft. While the early upside is not there for many RBs in this draft, all you can do is draft and hope. Tank Dell and Josh Downs are in the same boat. Both the odd man out on their teams, but they could easily get into the mix. Then we look into Kayshon Boutte, best available at the time, have to take him and hope he makes the team. Elijah Higgins is a sneaky pick, converted WR to TE, he has to have an eventual role in the McDaniel offense. Hendon Hooker is just a safe pick, put him on the taxi and see what happens.

Pistol – Draft Grade – A

2.07PistolJayden ReedWRGB
3.05PistolDeWayne McBrideRBMIN
4.04PistolAT PerryWRNO
5.03PistolKeaton MitchellRBBAL

How many as am I going to give out? Maybe all of them. I mean Pistol had to just sit in the pocket and pick between JSN and Gibbs. Gibbs was there so he took Gibbs. Easy pick. Gibbs looks like lightning in a bottle. Kincaid should be a good player in the NFL, but TEs are so risky. Pistol already has Kyle Pitts. Interesting pick, but still a good one, can’t knock the player. C.J. Stroud is likely the best NFL ready QB in the draft. Pistol has Love and Purdy, but Stroud could be his guy going forward. Tough not to take the value there in a QB driven league. Jayden Reed is another safe pick. The Packers grabbed him early, so the investment is better than what the Packers put in Doubs. I would think the Packers somehow find a way to get Reed on the field early. While the Packers have Musgrave, Watson, and Doubs, I think Reed provides an additional safety blanket for Love to get things going on the Packers offense. McBride has a shot at being the Vikings RB2. That is a good pick. A.T. Perry and Keaton Mitchell were close to best available, find a name you like late and cross your fingers.

Batman – Draft Grade – B+

3.06BatmanDarnell WashingtonTEPIT
4.05BatmanDeneric PrinceRBKC
5.04BatmanTrey PalmerWRTB
5.08BatmanMatt BreidaRBNYG

Batman had a solid draft, all you can really do is take the best available. At 4 he went with Quentin Johnston who has two aging WRs in his WR group. I think QJ has success, just in year 2 or 3. Tank Bigsby is at best in a split backfield, so we do not know when he will have relevance. Batman then grabbed two other RB hopefuls in Chase Brown and Zach Evans. Then things get interesting. Darnell Washington is a blocking TE, so pretty much anyone at 3.06 would have been better. Deneric Prince is another RB chance. Trey Palmer at 5.04 is an absolute steal. Love the pick, what a move by Batman, possibly the best post second round pick in the draft. Breida at 5.08 is almost a guaranteed cut, so at least Batman will have an easier time getting down to the right roster size. I like Batman’s draft, but without that heavy hitter, tough to get an A draft.

Trashman – Draft Grade – B+

3.13*TrashmanSean TuckerRBTB
4.06TrashmanCharlie JonesWRCIN
5.05TrashmanWill LevisQBTEN

Trashman needed WR help and he got some in Addison. Well Addison’s situation really depends on how the Vikings operate at QB in the next few years. With that uncertainty and with JJ as the WR1 of possibly the entire NFL, how much room will there be for Addison in this offense. LaPorta is a good pick, but not Trashman who already has Mark Andrews. Jalin Hyatt is a good pick, but in a packed WR room in which has Daniel Jones streaky performance at QB. Abanikanda is shifty and now behind Breece and Dalvin. Sean Tucker is a stash, Charlie Jones is a stash. Will Levis though, could be a sneaky trade piece if he gets in early. Overall, not sure Trashman added a lot for immediate success which is not great for a fringe playoff team.

PeePaw – Draft Grade – A

1.06PeePawZach CharbonnetRBSEA

2.10PeePawCedric TillmanWRCLE
3.08PeePawEvan HullRBIND
4.08PeePawDontayvion WicksWRGB
5.07PeePawTre TuckerWRLV

PeePaw has a few sneaky picks. Charbonnet is part of a two headed backfield. Rice is part of an explosive offense with no real WR1, while an outside shot, not a bad risk to take. Marvin Mims is a great pick and finds himself on the new Denver offense. Russ had no chemistry with any of the WRs in Denver, maybe Mims is why Russ is hot this year. Tillman was the Browns 3rd round pick, which is a greater investment than DPJ as a 6th rounder and Elijah Moore is not their draft pick so it’s tough to say really who they like more. Tillman has time to take over one of those spots. He’s a good stash. Hull is a risk that could have more upside if JT is traded. Dontayvion Wicks is a stash and so is Tre Tucker. I like the Charbonnet and Mims picks to get in the mix this year for PeePaw. PeePaw made some big trades too, giving up Pick 8 for Pick 10 and 15. That was a steal. Then flipped Pick 15 for 16 and 59. Then he got rid of Michael Thomas for Pick 23. That was some maneuvering.

Bruce – Draft Grade – C+

1.07BruceZay FlowersWRBAL
2.02BruceJonathan MingoWRCAR
4.07BruceKenny McIntoshRBSEA

Bruce has two rookies that are in the starting lineup. That is good. The problem is Zay Flowers is on the same team as Bateman. Mingo is on a team with a rookie QB. I do not see either really taking off this year. McIntosh is not going to play. Not that Bruce could have really grabbed anyone of value that late in the draft, but what can you do.

Teach – Draft Grade – C+

3.11TeachTucker KraftTEGB
4.11TeachZach KuntzTENYJ
5.06TeachRay-Ray McCloudWRSF
5.11TeachLew Nichols IIIRBGB

Teach started off the draft with a great pick and then fell off the face of the earth. Achane is risky, but if McDaniel took Achane you have to think he has an idea for him. If JT ends up on the Phins I don’t know what to think of Achane. If there is no JT then the sky is the limit for Achane going forward. Bryce Young is not the pick Teach needed, Kraft is another forced pick, Kuntz is another forced pick, who doubles down on rookie TEs? McCloud is bad and not even a starter for the 49ers. Lew Nichols, well what are you going to do with the second to last pick of the draft, can’t knock Teach for trying.

Touchdown Guy – Draft Grade – C

2.05TDGTyjae SpearsRBTEN
3.04TDGMichael WilsonWRARI
3.10TDGPuka NacuaWRLAR
5.10TDGRonnie BellWRSF

Touchdown Guy did not have a lot of options. Touchdown Guy grabbed has handcuff and stash in Tyjae Spears which is a great pick. Wilson, Puka and Bell are all stashes. He just needs one of them to get in the mix in year 2 to save this draft. That is about it. There is not a lot TDG could do as he continually goes all in year in and year out for the league championship. Going all in results in bad draft grades. Touchdown Guy is still one of the top teams this year, but to stay at the top one of these draft picks will have to turn out for him.

JonnyDIII’s Joyful Demons – Draft Grade – C-

3.09Jonny DIIIEric GrayRBNYG
4.09Jonny DIIIDerius DavisWRLAC
4.10Jonny DIIIChris Rodriguez, Jr.RBWAS

JD3 needs Michael Mayer to produce halfway through the season or else this draft is likely a complete bust. Gray was a risk in hopes of Barkley not signing, that fell through. Davis is a stash and so is Chris Rod, but the chances of production are not great for either.

CrossFit =- Draft Grade – C-

2.12CrossFitLuke MusgraveTEGB
3.12CrossFitDeuce VaughnRBDAL
4.12CrossFitParker WashingtonWRJAC
5.12CrossFitStetson Bennett IVQBLAR

CrossFit already had four Tight Ends on his roster, Musgrave was a bad pick. CrosFit has Kelce and Freiermuth, Ertz and Dulcich, so he already has two starting TEs and 2 backup options. The pick was not necessary. Deuce Vaughn is  someone we will all cheer for, but I’m not sure he has a realistic future in the NFL. Washington is a stash for the Jags so he’s even more of a stash for CrossFit. Steston is actually a sneaky pick, so I tip my cap to CrossFit but that isn’t going to help the draft grade.

Mush’s Mongrels – Draft Grade – D+

4.03Mush’s MongrelsLuke SchoonmakerTEDAL
4.13*Mush’s MongrelsDerek CarrQBNO

Not a lot to say here, Mush went all in and came up terribly short. There is not a lot of hope for Mush in the future either. Schoonmaker may be something but with Trey Lance at QB when the Cowboys go full rebuild. Derek Carr is a terrible pick. Mush is a terrible team, some say not the best Commish either, some say that, I, as the writer, have not. Mush did grab Michael Thomas for Pick 23. Pairing Mikey T with Derek Carr is the only thing saving this draft grade from being an F.

This is about as close as we could get to a bell curve. We had some good drafting and some bad. This year it was important to have an early pick or to not reach for a position you didn’t need. This could be a defining year for those rebuilders and top heavy teams. The tides could be turning. We have cuts coming on Sunday and teams will have to get their rosters down to 20 players with the option of an additional 5 taxi eligible players. It is going to be another action packed year and I do not know if I will be able to keep up. Best of luck to you in any upcoming drafts, the upcoming season and I hope you and yours have a better tomorrow.

Let’s Go!
